The most important diagram that Herschel has discovered originates from the Hebrew version of the Key of Solomon (Mafteah Shelomoh):

According to Herschel, the eight-pointed cross depicted at the 10 o’clock position in the left upper corner of the diagram is exactly the same token used in the diagram depicted below and supposedly represents the constellation Orion.

Herschel claims that the symbolic representation of Orion is an eight-pointed cross. While the three belt stars certainly align and the four ‘corner’ stars can be connected to form diagonals, Herschel has been very creative to demonstrate how the six tiny stars that form the ‘Sword of Orion’ form yet the eighth radii of the eight-pointed cross. The problem is that there are no other known historic references that identified Orion with an eight-pointed cross.

About the square with the two semi circles in diagram A of the Hebrew Key of Solomon, Herschel writes the following on his website.
The meaning of the square and the two curves on each side of the star most likely represent sunrise and its path to sunset - the Ecliptic.
We fully support Herschel’s view that the two semicircles in between the two slopes represent the Sun. The glyph in the centre of diagram A looks very familiar with the Egyptian Akhet glyph where the Sun was depicted in between similar slopes. The Akhet glyph represented the rising and setting Sun on the horizon, and in hieroglyphic texts it is often translated as ‘horizon’.

The Sun on the right represents the rising Sun in the East while the Sun on the left represents the setting Sun in the West. Only twice does the Sun rise and set exactly at the cardinal directions East and West, and this is during the Equinox. We therefore surmise that the two semicircles in the square of diagram A symbolise the Equinox. Following the same reasoning, the semicircles in diagram B should also represent the Sun. Wayne fails to give any reasonable explanation as to why these semicircles occur around a symbol that represents Orion. The semicircles representing the Sun at the corners of the square in the South and North region of the circle (globe) and its diagonals that form a cross could mean either one of two possible things:

Notice that the diagonal in the upper left corner has two instead of one cross bar through its axis. This diagonal seems to be special and is associated with the Summer Solstice since its sunset occurs in the North-West, the region where the double cross bars occur. The axis connecting the cardinal directions East and West represents the Equinox axis.
The same double cross bars have been used in the eight pointed cross in diagram A. This time however the double cross bars occur at the axis representing the Equinox. This corresponds with the central depiction of the Equinox Sun in diagram A. We therefore suggest that diagram A is referring to the Equinox.

Considering this fact, the eight-pointed cross could also mean:
• The Sun at the Galactic Cross in the precession cycle.
Great Celestial Conjunction
The blue cross represents the Galactic Cross while the red cross represents the equinox-solstice axis or Earth Cross. The orange circle represents the precession cycle. During a Great Year, the Sun resides exactly four times on the Galactic Equator, twice at an Equinox and twice at a Solstice. Put in other words, during one revolution of the Earth Cross against the backdrop of the fixed Galactic Cross, the crosses overlap exactly four times. The symbology of the square with its four corners and its four suns attached to these corners could therefore represent these four Great Celestial Conjunctions of a Great Year.
The 8 pointed cross also occurs in the Aztec Sun Stone as two separate crosses. In the centre the Sun God Tonatiuh is depicted. On the Sun Stone in the inner circle the four previous Ages or Suns are depicted. The four squares around the central deity (blue cross) depict the previous four Suns that perished. On the top right square we find the jaguar. To the left is the wind, below the wind is fiery rain and in the bottom right square is water. Those were we elements that caused the end of the four Suns according to the Aztec Creation Myths. The next ring from the centre contains the 20 day signs of the Aztec calendar. The next ring contains quincunxes! The ring with quincunxes is the ring that contains the spear-head markers of the Sacred Tree and Galactic Cross ( green cross).
Aztec Sun Stone. The red cross represents the Earth Cross. The green cross is the Galactic Cross. They are two separate crosses! The Sun God is depicted in the centre. The black circles contain the Acatl glyphs that encode the merging of the Earth and Galactic Cross!
At the bottom of the Sun Stone, two Xiuhcoatl serpents are visible (bottom green cross). These serpents allegedly represent the Milky Way whereas the tail represents the Pleiades and the mouth of the snake corresponds with the Dark Rift of the Milky Way. The headdresses of the two serpents contain seven stars representing the Pleiades. The fact that these serpents occur at the base of the green cross confirms the fact that this cross indeed represents the Galactic Cross.
In addition at the edge of the calendar, eight equally spaced holes occur.
At the top of the Sun Stone (top black circle) in a square the day and year bearer sign Acatl (Reed) is depicted along with the number 13 (Acatl is the 13th day sign in counter clockwise direction from the top in the day sign ring). Acatl is associated with Tezcatlipoca and the glyph contains a tree. We suggest that this tree represents the Sacred Tree! The day sign Acatl as the Sacred Tree appears in the day signs ring exactly at the position that aligns with the Earth Cross (red cross)!
Since the Acatl (Sacred Tree) signs occur both at the top of the Galactic Cross (top black circle) and at the position that is aligned with the Earth Cross (bottom right black circle) in the day sign ring, we suggests that it denotes the fact that the two crosses (Earth Cross and Galactic Cross) can merge and become one!

Proof that the Sun Stone really contains an 8 pointed cross can be found in the Codex Vindobonensis. In this codex the Galactic Cross is depicted in exactly the same style as the Galactic Cross on the Sun Stone; the curly spear head markers that are used to denote the Galactic Cross are identical. In the Codex Vindobonensis there can be no doubt that two separate four pointed crosses are depicted since one of the crosses is a red cross (Galactic Cross) while the other cross is a white cross (Earth Cross).

The Aztec Creation Myths, the fights between Tezcatlipoca (8 pointed cross) and Quetzalcoatl (4 pointed cross), their creation of the five Suns, the association of his father Mixcoatl with the Sacred Tree, the Codex Borgia and the Sun Stone all portray the importance of the crosses.
The Mesoamerican Creation Myths of both the Maya and Aztec speak of the four Great Celestial Conjunctions that occur during a precession cycle. This allows us to suggest that the Great Celestial Conjunctions most likely also define their Suns or World Ages.
Galactic Butterfly
The origin of the ‘Galactic Butterfly’ is still disputed but we know for sure that it was at least an Aztec symbol. After the new discoveries revealed about the importance of the 8 pointed cross with respect to a Great Celestial Conjunction in this article and the fact that the Aztec sacred Sun Stone calendar also contains the 8 pointed cross, there is now little doubt that in fact the Galactic Butterfly as yet another form of an 8 pointed cross is the symbol that represents a Great Celestial Conjunction!
The Galactic Butterfly contains two different four pointed crosses
We have provided abundant evidence of the occurrence of cross symbols in the Maya artefacts that are associated with the Maya Sacred Tree and in particular with the Great Celestial Conjunction that is occurring at the end of the Maya Long Count calendar.
Though the crosses were firstly marked in the Maya artefacts two centuries ago and some hints as to their meaning were presented in the ‘Secret Doctrine’, since then (to our knowledge) no special studies were undertaken relative to this subject. In continuation of the previous article (The Mysteries of the Maya Symbols and the epochs of crucial world transformations) where the explanation of this connection was first proposed, this work is developed on the ground of new evidences of the occurrence of cross symbols in the Maya artefacts and its associations with the Maya Sacred Tree.
It is established that the 4 and 8 pointed crosses which we see in abundance in the Maya artefacts closely correlate with Maya Cosmogony concepts and other symbols; they explain why the end of long count at 2012 is so close to the rare cosmic event being described as a Great Celestial Conjunction or Galactic Alignment.
We therefore offer the suggestion that the Maya Sacred Tree also stands for the Galactic Cross that determines the quadripartite nature of the precession cycle and thus divide the Great Year in four equal cycles; from this point of view it defines the world epochs of the Maya and the Aztecs about which their Creation Myths speak.

Esfinge de Gizeh en el equinoccio de primavera
La anotación de los periódos del año, equinoccios y solsticios, es importantísimo para la fijación del calendario anual, y para el seguimiento y datación de la precesión de los equinoccios, como veremos más adelante.
Equinoccios y Solsticios.
Vamos a ver en imágenes como se producía esta anotación en función de la esfinge de Gizeh.
1. Equinoccio de primavera. Durante el equinoccio de primavera, el 21 de Marzo, el Sol sale justo por el Este durante 2 días.
Actualmente, cada 19 de junio del calendario gregoriano, la Nave Tierra en la que viajamos se coloca en el punto de su órbita en el que cruza por la línea que une al Sol y al centro de la Galaxia, es decir, que el planeta se coloca entre dos centros cósmicos: el centro del Sistema solar (el Sol) y el común a todas las estrellas, el Centro de la Galaxia. El centro del Ser galáctico es el punto de referencia fundamental para nuestra orientación en un Espacio en el que no existen fechas ni horas, y por ello es un "vacío terrible" para la mente acostumbrada a "marcapasos".
Teniendo en cuenta que el Sol (Sistema solar, y con él las órbitas de los planetas como la Tierra) gira alrededor de otro centro como puede ser el propio centro galáctico, y que los calendarios son estructuras mentales estáticas no vivientes y por ello incapaces de adaptarse a la dinámica de los movimientos de los astros en el Espacio, es fácil imaginar que hace 2000 años (por ejemplo) esta circunstancia ocurriera en otra fecha, en tal caso de hace 2000 años el 24 de mayo. Pero para los astros no existen nuestras fechas sino sus movimientos circulares y sus alineaciones que se producen cíclicamente en el infinito EspacioTiempo (88) del Ser universal. Sus astros (sus reflejos, sus señales, nuestros guías) son los puentes para la reintegración de nuestra conciencia en la dinámica universal. Los calendarios, al ser estáticos, "congelan" la conciencia, y se hacen útiles sólo para una existencia lineal con una esperanza media de 70 años (tal es la duración media de una persona moderna).
Durante el solsticio de verano, el 21 de Junio, el Sol salía por el Noreste a 28º a la izquierda de la visión de la esfinge.
3. Equinoccio de Otoño. Durante el equinoccio de otoño, el 21 de Septiembre, el Sol salía justo por el Este durante 2 días.
4. Solsticio de invierno. Durante el solsticio de invierno, el 21 de Diciembre, el Sol salía a 28º Sureste de la visión de la esfinge.
La conexion con "la serpiente de bronce" esta codificada en funcion al mismo signo $$$ al tener forma de serpiente. Recordemos que la SERPIENTE segun GENESIS es la misma tribu de DAN con nexo con A-DAN.

While Rosslyn Chapel was a rather unknown tourist attraction in the Scottish village Roslin near Edinburgh, all of this changed after the publication of the book ’The Da Vinci Code’ by Dan Brown which turned Rosslyn Chapel into a real pilgrimage in the last few years. As long as the Holy Grail has not been recovered from the sealed crypt underneath the chapel, a real ‘treasure’ was revealed on ground radar scans, the rumours about the secrets that the chapel is supposed to hide will only increase. The Rosslyn Chapel Trust preserves the myth by not allowing the crypt to be opened. Ground radar scans made without the consent of the Rosslyn Chapel Trust have so far revealed a secret tunnel between the chapel and Rosslyn Castle.
The question however is if the Holy Grail that is supposed to be buried underneath Rosslyn Chapel is the chalice of the Last Supper, the Ark of the Covenant, or as some think Baphomet the head of John the Baptist? It is far more likely that the secret of Rosslyn Chapel concerns esoteric knowledge that was acquired by the Knights Templar during their crusades to Jerusalem and used in the design of churches, cathedrals and temples, possibly even this chapel.
According to scholars there is no clear documented connection between the Knights Templar and the founder of this chapel, the 3rd Earl of Orkney, Baron of Roslin, William Sinclair, however there are sufficient clues to suggest that such a connection must have existed. Officially the Sinclair’s were even present at the trial of the Knights Templar in Edinburgh in 1309 after pope Clement V had officially forbidden the Templar Order. This fact alone would contradict any supposed connections between the Sinclair family and the Knights Templar. In addition the first stone for the chapel was laid roughly 150 years after the abolishment of the Knights Templar.
It is a fact however that the chapel became a symbol of Scottish Freemasonry and that it has been a real pilgrimage for freemasons for centuries. In 1736 the 21st Baron of Rosslyn, co-incidentally also named William Sinclair, became the first Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. The foundation of this Lodge is supposed to be the start of Scottish freemasonry, however as we will demonstrate the architecture of the chapel itself contradicts this claim and the relation between the chapel and freemasonry must be much older.
The chapel has multiple aspects that reveal its descent from freemasonry and its connection to the Knights Templar. The single Latin inscription that can be found in the church is already reason enough to suspect such connections. The inscription carved in stone reads: ‘FORTE EST VINUM, FORTIOR EST REX, FORTIORES SUNT MULIERES: SUPER OMNIA VINCIT VERITAS’ (Wine is strong, a king is stronger, female are stronger still, but truth conquers everything). This Latin phrase connects Rosslyn Chapel to Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem, the temple where the Knights Templar supposedly discovered a big secret during their crusades. Zerrubbabel got permission from king Darius after winning a contest to rebuild the destroyed Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem and to lead the Jews from exile in Babylon back to Israel. Zerrubbabel won the winning price of Darius’s contest question ‘who or what was the strongest’. Zerrubbabel’s answered that the truth would conquer everything. As a reward he was allowed to rebuild the temple of Jerusalem. The winning answer to king Darius’s question is carved in stone in Rosslyn Chapel.
Also the depiction of two knights on a single horse that is displayed in Rosslyn Chapel is an image that can also be found in the official coat of arms of the Knights Templar.
A convincing clue that William Sinclair can be associated with the Knights Templar can be found on his grave in the chapel. The inscription on his grave reads: ‘William de St. Clair, Knight Templar’. Historians however point out that this statement is incorrect and that it is completely uncertain who of the many William Sinclair’s has been buried here.

What is far more interesting than this straight forward clue suggesting that William Sinclair was a Knight Templar, is the presence of an eight pointed cross on his grave stone. The official coat of arms of the Sinclair’s is a four pointed cross in a stitch pattern and it’s a well known fact that the Knights Templar used four and eight pointed crosses in their coat of arms (see the head of this article) as well.
We will demonstrate that these four and eight pointed crosses have a deep esoteric and astronomical significance that must be well known to the freemasons.

When the grave stone of William Sinclair is studied in detail we notice that besides the eight pointed cross there is also a four pointed cross depicted. The name of the founder of Rosslyn Chapel is spelled in Lombardic letters ‘Willhm de Sinncler’. It’s remarkable that the last two letters ER are set apart and are reversed in spelling. It reads RE. RE in the author’s opinion is a reference to Amen-Re or Amen-Ra, the Egyptian solar deity. It makes sense since Rosslyn Chapel is not just some ordinary chapel, it is a solar temple. Rosslyn Chapel was inaugurated in 1450 as the ‘Collegiate Church of St. Matthew’ on the fall equinox (21st September). The chapel is perfectly aligned to the cardinal directions similar to the ancient solar temples. Another conspicuous feature is that the depiction on the grave stone resembles a key. Could this depiction be the key to the secrets of Rosslyn Chapel?

At the east end of the chapel there are three very important pillars perfectly aligned to the East. These pillars are the Master Pillar, the Journeyman Pillar and the Apprentice Pillar. The authors Robert Lomas and Christopher Knight have shown that Rosslyn Chapel is a copy of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. They argue that the Master Pillar and the Apprentice Pillar correspond with the two pillars Boaz and Jachin that stood in front of Solomon’s Temple.
In ‘The Stone Puzzle of Rosslyn Chapel’ Philip Coppens describes the initiation rituals of the freemasons; The pillars in Rosslyn Chapel correspond with the three degrees in freemasonry. In the initiation rituals of the freemasons these pillars correspond with the solstices and equinoxes. The novice initiated into the ‘Entered Apprentice’ degree in freemasonry is placed in the Lodge near the pillar in the north east corner (Jachin). This pillar corresponds with the summer solstice. A freemason who is initiated into the ‘Fellow craft Mason’ degree is placed in the south east corner (Boaz) corresponding with the winter solstice. A freemason who is finally initiated into the Master Mason degree is placed in front of the middle pillar corresponding with the equinox. During the ritual the candidate dies but he’s eventually resurrected from his death. At the moment of his resurrection a light of a five pointed star is lit. This five pointed star is the brightest morning star according to Coppens.
I believe that this ritual concerns the ‘resurrection’ and ‘rebirth’ of the Sun. The sun dies each year on the cross of the zodiac during the winter solstice to be fully reborn on the spring equinox in the annual cycle. During the spring equinox the sun is fully raised from the death as it revives nature that starts to blossom again.
Not only does the sun die to be reborn in the annual cycle, it also dies and is reborn in the larger astronomical cycle called the precession of the equinoxes. This cycle takes 26.000 years to complete and is caused by the wobbling of the Earth axis causing the spring equinox to shift. We are presently living in the Age of Pisces but as a result of precession we will enter the Age of Aquarius in the near future.
The most important thing of the extraordinary time that we live in, is that the sun will be reborn in the precession cycle around the year 2012, to be more specific in between the years 1978-2017. Around this time the sun will reside on the Milky Way at the winter and summer solstices. It coincides with the ending of the Maya calendar on December 21st 2012. The ending of the Maya calendar happens on the winter solstice when the sun aligns with the Milky Way. This event is regarded as the moment that the sun is reborn in the great cycle, the precession cycle.
In my opinion this extraordinary astrological event is symbolized by the initiation rituals in freemasonry. The pillar that is so important in freemasonry is a symbol of the Milky Way. When the Pillar of the Apprentice is studied we notice that at the base of the pillar eight snakes are sculptured. This pillar is associated with the World Tree that we find in many cultures around the world. In the Nordic mythology the World Tree is called Yggdrassil and it had eight snakes curling around its roots.
The World Tree or Axis Mundi represented the cosmological centre in ancient times; it connects the Earth with the four cardinal directions as well as the heavens with the underworld. In the Maya culture the World Tree represents the Milky Way or Wakah Chan according to Mayanist Linda Schele. To be more precisely the Wakah Chan is the crossing of the Milky Way and the ecliptic, the virtual track of the sun around the Earth. This cross point is exactly the place where the sun resides on the Milky Way on the winter solstice of 2012.
The initiation rituals of freemasonry where the candidates are placed near the pillars of the Lodge are associations with the solstices and equinoxes, they symbolise the astronomical alignment of the sun (candidate freemason) with the Milky Way (pillar). The pillar represents the World Tree or the crossing of the ecliptic and the Milky Way. The alignment of the sun with the Milky Way on an equinox or solstice is called a Great Celestial Conjunction (Smelyakov/Wicherink 2006). There are exactly four such conjunctions in a precession cycle of 26.000 years. Around 2012 this conjunction takes place again after 6480 years.
The initiation ritual of the Master Mason whereby the candidate is placed near the equinox (Journeyman Pillar) with the five pointed star that rises as the morning star, is I believe a astronomical reference to the start date of the construction of Rosslyn Chapel. The construction of Rosslyn Chapel started at ‘St. Matthew’s Day’ on the fall equinox of 1446. The ‘brightest five pointed star’ is no doubt a reference to Venus. Venus traces a pentagram (a five pointed star) along the zodiac in her conjunctions with the Earth and is the brightest morning star in the sky. At dawn on the day of the start of the construction of Rosslyn Chapel, Venus rose as a morning star. In addition there was a conjuncture of Venus and Regulus, the brightest star of Leo.
Regulus is one of the four royal stars Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares and Formalhaut. These four stars belong to the constellations Taurus (Aldebaran), Leo (Regulus), Scorpio (Antares) and Southern Fishes (Formalhaut). Southern Fishes is the equivalent of Aquarius since it opposes Aquarius on the ecliptic. It is these four signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius that form the ‘Galactic Cross’ in ancient times. We will further discuss the importance of the ‘Galactic Cross’ in the context of this article below.
Fall equinox 1446, date of the start of the construction of Rosslyn Chapel, Venus rises as the morning star in conjuncture with Regulus
Rosslyn Chapel creates an atmosphere of a garden or forest due to the abundant sculptures of leaves, flowers and plants. The association of the three pillars with the World Tree is therefore very appropriate. A noticeable presence in the Chapel is the so called Green Man. From his mouth branches and leaves are growing. There are over a 100 of these sculptures in the chapel in Roslin.
The Green Man symbolizes regeneration in nature and the blossoming of life during spring. It therefore also symbolizes resurrection and rebirth and as such can be associated with the rebirth of the sun. It’s a remarkable fact that the Green Man in Rosslyn Chapel forms another eight pointed cross.
Because the Green Man was also found in 11th century Templar churches in Jerusalem we find another clue that the architecture of Rosslyn Chapel may have been strongly influenced by the Knights Templar.
The Green Man
The highest degree in English freemasonry is called the Royal Arch. It is a higher degree than the Master Mason degree. Freemasons of the Royal Arch are initiated into the deepest secrets of freemasonry. These secrets are conveyed by the so called Tracing Board. The Tracing Board of the Royal Arch shows the two pillars of Solomon’s Temple Boaz and Jachin with on top op these pillars the Royal Arch.
The two pillars in front of Solomon’s Temple are most likely copies of the ancient Egyptian temples dedicated to the Aten (solar disk). One or more pylons (entrance gates) were situated at the entrance of the temple. These pylons in the temples of the Aten consisted of sets of pillars symbolizing the two mountains of the horizon, the Akhet in between which the sun rose.
Notice that in the Tracing Board underneath the arch of the Royal Arch there’s not only an eight pointed cross, but a four pointed cross as well.

What can be so important about an arch in between two pillars such that it represents the highest degree in freemasonry? Let’s have a look at the pillars of Rosslyn Chapel, the pillars of the Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason.
Below we see a drawing of the three pillars and their arches.
What is prominent is that the east side of the pillars the arches consist of eight pointed crosses, while on the west side we notice the four pointed crosses with the stitch pattern. These last four pointed crosses resemble the coat of arms of the Sinclair’s!

What can be the meaning of these four and eight pointed crosses (Green Man, gravestone of William Sinclair) that we find in abundance in Rosslyn Chapel and why were they also used by the Knights Templar? Why do the freemasons attach so much importance to these arches and why is their highest degree in freemasonry called the Royal Arch? Why do we find the four and eight pointed crosses in the arches of the three most important pillars at Rosslyn Chapel?
Coat of Arms of the Knights Templar
The explanation can be found in the astrological alignment of two astronomical crosses. The zodiac has two different crosses. When both crosses are superimposed, an eight pointed cross is formed. When both these crosses overlap to form a single four pointed cross this event is called a Great Celestial Conjunction.
The first cross is the cross formed by the equinox and solstice axis. The four signs of the zodiac that belong to the equinoxes and solstices are Aries (March 21st, spring), Cancer (June 21st, summer), Libra (September 21st, fall) and Capricorn (December 21st, winter) in the tropical zodiac.
In the Tracing Board of the Royal Arch, three of these zodiac signs are depicted on the arch. On the left pillar Aries is depicted, in the centre at the so called keystone Cancer is depicted and finally on the right pillar Libra is depicted. This explains why the pillars in freemasonry correspond with the equinoxes and solstices.
Under the Royal Arch of the Tracing Board, we notice a shield with a four pointed cross. In the four quadrants of this shield, the zodiac signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius can be found. These four so called fixed signs form a fixed cross in the zodiac. The importance of these signs is that they can be associated with the crossing of the ecliptic and the Milky Way.
The axis connecting 5° Gemini with 5° Sagittarius corresponds with the galactic equator and forms the axis of the galactic cross. 5° Gemini and 5° Sagittarius are the places where the ecliptic and the Milky Way intersect in the zodiac.
In ancient times the galactic cross was denoted by the zodiac signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius instead of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces which would have been more logical since the latter signs are the signs of the galactic cross. The reason is that only the former and not the latter signs are visible shortly before sunrise during a Great Celestial Conjunction on the equinoxes and solstices.
The importance of our present time is that the two crosses of the zodiac (galactic cross and equinox-solstice axis cross) that formed an eight pointed cross in the last 6480 years, now in the timeframe around 2012 merge to form a single four pointed cross again. This happens in between the years 1978-2017. After 2017 the two crosses separate again for the next 6480 years to form an eight pointed cross again.

The merger of the two crosses in the zodiac corresponds with the alignment of the sun with the Milky Way at the winter solstice in the period 1978-2017 also called the Galactic Alignment (John Major Jenkins). This moment signals the start of a new cycle in the precession cycle and this event I believe is expressed in the freemasonry initiation rituals when the candidate freemason (Sun) is placed in front of the pillar (Milky Way).
This knowledge of the merger of the two crosses must be the deepest secret of freemasonry and it is preserved by the Royal Arch. Jeff Nisbet in ‘Forbidden Religion’ explains that one of the Templars who was arrested on October 13, 1307 explained during his interrogation that in the initiation rituals of the Order the candidate was shown the Christian Cross and was told ‘Put not thy faith in this, for it is not old enough’.
And indeed it seems that the knowledge of this cross predates Christianity and can be traced back to Solomon’s Temple. In front of Solomon’s Temple two pillars were standing called Boaz and Jachin. In the holiest of holiest in the inner sanctuary of the temple the Ark of the Covenant was stored and it was guarded by two Cherubims.
Babylonian Cherubim
A Cherubim is a hybrid of a human and animals. We recognise the four zodiac signs that can be associated with the galactic cross in the animals of the Cherubim. The Cherubim has the head of a human (Aquarius), the body of a bull (Taurus), the back and tail of a lion (Leo) and the wings of an eagle (Scorpio or Aquilla). The zodiac sign of Scorpio is often replaced by the sign of the eagle (Aquilla).
In ancient Assyria the Cherubim was called a Karibu and it guarded the Tree of Life or the World Tree. Here we find a direct link with the Milky Way or better the crossing of the ecliptic and the Milky Way again, the galactic cross. In ancient Egypt we find the Cherubim in the form of Sphinxes that guarded the temples.
Finally the writers Tim Wallace Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins argue in their book ‘Rosslyn’ that Rosslyn Chapel is the destination of a pilgrimage route from Santiago de Compostella leading along French cathedrals including the cathedral of Toulouse, Orléans, Chartres, Notre Dame de Paris and Amiens. As we have been demonstrating in our research also the Chartres cathedral that has been built with the aid of the Knights Templar contains the same esoteric knowledge about the Great Celestial Conjunction around 2012. Compostella means campus stellea (field of stars) and as such can be associated with the Milky Way. I therefore believe that the pilgrimage symbolizes a journey along the Milky Way with the solar temple Rosslyn Chapel as its destination.
It seems that the Knights Templar discovered this rare event in the precession cycle that was of great importance to the ancients and is also known to the indigenous American Indians. According to the Maya this astronomical event taking place on the 21st of December 2012 signals the end of one era and the start of another, it heralds a new World Age.
I believe that the four and eight pointed crosses form the true ‘Da Vinci Code’ of Rosslyn Chapel; it reveals secret knowledge about the Great Celestial Conjunction that must have been known to the Knights Templar and the secret brotherhoods that originated from them like the English freemasons.

The mystery of the Gothic cathedrals Jan Wicherink

The Gothic cathedral architecture originated in France in the early 12th century during the heydays of the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar officially called the ‘Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon’ formed a knight’s order of priests who protected the pilgrimage routes to Jerusalem.
The order was founded in 1118 by Hugo van Payens who managed to team up nine brave knight-priests. This group of nine knights became to be one of the richest and most powerful groups in history. With their huge wealth, collected from financing the crusades, they were able to build the Gothic cathedrals in Europe. The cathedrals with their twin towers facing the West resemble the Temple of Salomo with its two pillars Jachin and Boaz that stood in front of the temple. This explains why in many cases a statue of Salomon is placed at the West portal of the French cathedrals in between the twin towers.
Many books have been written about the mysteries of the French Gothic cathedrals and its sacred geometry used in the architecture. A well known book is ‘Le Mystère des Cathédrales’ written in 1929 by Fulcanelli (1839 - 1953), the mysterious French alchemist who was one of the first to write about the mysteries surrounding the French cathedrals. According to Fulcanelli a cathedral is an alchemical book written in stone.
The End of Time
A visitor entering the cathedral is immediately confronted with ‘The Last Judgment’ that is displayed at the tympanum (mural) above the entrance. In the tympanum Jesus is displayed surrounded by the four beasts of the Apocalypse. These four beasts are mentioned in John’s Revelations and have been equated with the four apostles of the four canonical books of the bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The four beasts of the Apocalypse have an astrological significance. The beast with the human face correlates with Aquarius (Matthew), the lion with Leo (Mark), the ox with Taurus (Luke) and the eagle with Aquila (John). The zodiac sign Aquila is often replaced by the zodiac sign Scorpio in ancient zodiacs.
In Christian art expressions Christ is often portrayed inside a Vesica Pisces along with these four zodiac signs and surrounding Christ’s head a halo is displayed resembling the Sun. The cross in the halo in reality could therefore be a reference to these four signs of the Apocalypse, since Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio and Leo together form a perfect cross in the zodiac.

‘Last Judgment’ Chartres West Royal Portal
Chartes Notre Dame Cathedral
One of the oldest Gothic cathedrals in France is Chartres cathedral. This cathedral is aligned to the summer solstice. On the summer solstice the Sun shines through the window of ‘Saint Apollinaire’ with a depiction of the Roman sun god Apollo and its rays fall straight on an iron nail in the floor of the cathedral.

Inside the cathedral one can find a zodiac which is rather peculiar since in Christian tradition practicing astrology is regarded as an act of paganism. This zodiac however seems to be telling something extraordinary. The first thing that attracts one’s attention is the cross in this zodiac that connects the four signs Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio and Leo. Similar to the ‘Last Judgment’ this zodiac cross seems to denote the importance of these four signs and presumably must be associated with ‘The End Times’ as well.
The reason might be that these four signs rise heliacal (before the sun) during a Great Celestial Conjunction at the solstices and/or equinoxes. They are thus the symbols of the true Galactic Cross determined by the places in the zodiac where the ecliptic and the Milky Way cross. The importance of the Great Celestial Conjunction of 2012 is that it marks the event after 6480 years when the equinox and solstice axis of the zodiac cross merge again with the Galactic Cross. This is the time the 26.000 year precession cycle will be concluded and a new cycle will commence. This is what in John’s Revelations has been called ‘The End Times’.

The next thing that attracts one’s attention about the zodiac in Chartres cathedral are the two semicircles in the zodiac that intersect to form a Vesica Pisces. A Vesica Pisces is an important ancient symbol later adopted by Christians to represent Christ. When vertically depicted, the Vesica Pisces represents the vagina of the goddess mother and as such was associated with fertility and birth. Christ is often depicted inside the Vesica Pisces in a vertical position like in the ‘Last Judgment’ of the tympanum above the West Royal Portal of Chartres cathedral. This symbolism therefore refers to the rebirth or Second Coming of Christ at the ‘End of Time’.
When the Vesica Pisces in the zodiac of Chartres is carefully inspected, something interesting is discovered. The intersection of the Vesica Pisces aligns with the Pisces-Virgo axis in the zodiac. This is a hint that the Vesica Pisces should be associated with both the signs Pisces and Virgo. The esoteric astrological significance is that Pisces stands for Christ (the fisherman) while Virgo stands for Mary (the virgin mother). It was the virgin mother Mary (Virgo) that gave birth (Vesica Pisces) to Christ (Pisces).
Great Celestial Conjunction
There is only one very important astronomical rebirth taking place in Pisces around era-2012 and that’s the rebirth of the Sun in the precession cycle on the Galactic Cross. This moment denotes the start of a new precession cycle. Could it be that the Chartres zodiac was meant to denote this astronomical event?
In the years of the Great Celestial Conjunction (1978-2017) the 5° Pisces - 5° Virgo axis of the Galactic Cross will align with the equinoxes, while the 5° Gemini - 5° Sagittarius axis (sidereal zodiac) of the Galactic Cross will align with the solstices. The Galactic Cross therefore occurs in the Chartres zodiac and is defined by the Vesica Pisces!

The cross Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio Leo cross corresponds in addition with the cardinal directions. If this cross is interpreted this way interesting new insights come to light. The Sun depicted in the upper right corner of the zodiac is now situated in the northeast at the place where the Sun rises during the summer solstice.
Notice that a line is drawn from the Sun to the center of the zodiac. This line connects the Sun with the birthplace of the Sun, meaning inside the Vesica Pisces (the female birth canal) and at the centre of the Galactic Cross! The Vesica Pisces therefore suggests the rebirth of the Sun during the summer solstice in Pisces during the Great Celestial Conjunction of 2012.
The symbolism used here suggests that the Christian doctrine of the ‘End Times’ is not about the rebirth of Christ at all, but actually about the rebirth of the Sun! This is most likely why Jesus is placed inside the vertical Vesica Pisces surrounded by the four beats of the End Times in the ‘Last Judgment’ in the first place!
The zodiac corresponds with the summer solstice. The summer solstice Sun is depicted in the northeast (summer solstice sunrise).
Black Madonna
Are there more reasons to suspect that the biblical ‘End Times’ in reality is about the rebirth of the Sun? The fact is that there is actually a very convincing clue left in Chartres cathedral dealing again with the very same symbol, the Vesica Pisces.

Chartres cathedral is well known for its Black Madonna veneration. The Black Madonna however has nothing to do with Mary. In reality she represents the pagan Egyptian mother goddess Isis. In her arms she’s therefore not holding Jesus but the immaculate conceived son, the sun god Horus! Isis like Mary was a virgin who gave birth to a son on the 25th of December. This is exactly four days after the winter solstice, the moment of the rebirth of the Sun in the annual cycle after the Sun has ‘died’ on the cross of the zodiac at the winter solstice day.

In the freemasons Tracing Board (see picture above) Mary’s Immaculate Conception is depicted. She’s placed inside a Vesica Pisces in between the two pillars of the temple of Solomon with the All Seeing Eye of Horus watching over her. This maconic Tracing Board reveals that the birth of Christ in reality is mimicking the birth of Horus, the Egyptian Sun God.
Notice that the ‘virgin Mary’ in Chartres is placed on a pillar in a Vesica Pisces shaped cavity. The origin of this custom to place the virgin mother on a pillar in Christian traditions stems from the legend of ‘Our Lady on the Pillar’. The legend relates to the appearance of the virgin mother to the apostle James in the early days of Christianity on top of a column or pillar carried by angles.
In Masonic traditions this pillar however represents the Milky Way. The symbolism of placing the Black Madonna with Jesus on a pillar must therefore be equated with the Sun (Horus) on the Milky Way. The Sun will be at the Milky Way at the ‘End of Time’ during the summer and winter solstice of 2012.
Zodiac window
In the ambulatory a stained glass window contains the twelve signs of the zodiac. On top in a four leaf clover, hence representing a form of cross, Christ is depicted in between the Greek letters alpha and omega. In Christianity Christ’s birth is represented by the letter alpha and his Second Coming at the ‘End of Time’ with the letter omega. The letters alpha and omega in this zodiac are therefore most likely representing the beginning and end of the precession cycle. The Great Celestial Conjunction of 2012 will be the alpha and omega point in the precession cycle, the moment of a cycle ending and new cycle starting.
The four signs (Leo, Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio) that are associated with the Galactic Cross are depicted similar to Christ in a four leafed clover. All of the other ‘regular’ signs of the zodiac are depicted in ordinary circles. There is however one little error introduced in this zodiac. Taurus of the Galactic Cross (Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo and Taurus) has been deliberately replaced by the sign Gemini. The summer solstice of June 21st takes place during the last day of Gemini (May 22 – June 21). By exchanging Taurus with Gemini, whereas Gemini must be associated with the summer solstice Sun, the summer solstice Sun is placed on the Galactic Cross! The summer solstice Sun at June 21st 2012 will reside in Gemini at the Galactic Cross where the ecliptic and the Milky Way cross!
So this zodiac window in Chartres is clearly a reference to the summer solstice Galactic Alignment of 2012, the Great Celestial Conjunction of 2012.
On June 21st 2012 (Gemini) the Sun resides on the Galactic Cross. Taurus is deliberately replaced by Gemini introducing an error in the zodiac sequence.
Cross rib vaults
In my Rosslyn Chapel article published in Atlantis Rising (issue 71, august 2008) I have argued that the architecture of Rosslyn Chapel contains a secret message concerning 2012. This secret in my opinion is the best kept secret by the highest degrees in Scottish freemasonry, the Royal Arch which has connected its name with this secret. The 2012 message has been cunningly embedded in the architecture by using cross symbols in the arches and cross rib vaults. These arches are not only found in Rosslyn Chapel but in most of the Gothic cathedrals as well.
The ground plan of a Gothic cathedral is a cross. This cross comprises a nave in the East-West direction (aligned to the solstice Sun) that is bisected by the transept that is perpendicular to the axis of the nave. From a bird eye’s view the cathedral forms a huge cross aligned to the solstice Sun.
The vaults of the Gothic cathedrals are for the majority four pointed cross rib vaults with the exception of the vaults of the apse that form a semicircle. The only exception to the four pointed cross rib vaults is the eight pointed cross rib vault of the Crossing. The Crossing is the heart of the cathedral where the nave and the transept intersect.

On top of the Crossing in most cases a tower is placed. This tower is shaped in the form of an octagon like in the cathedral of Coutances en Conques (France). Other examples are the cathedrals of Amiens, Auxerre, Laon, Rouen, Senlis en Toulouse that all have eight pointed cross rib vault at the Crossing of the cathedral.

An interesting detail is that the four main pillars on which the vaults of the Crossing rest are named after the Four Evangelists. The Four Evangelists as mentioned before represent the four signs of the zodiac, Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio and Leo.
It is important to realize that the eight pointed cross resides at the hearth of the cathedral. It is the only eight pointed cross in the cathedral since the rest of the vaults are four pointed crosses. In my opinion the four and eight pointed crosses of the cross rib vaults that are part of the design of the cathedral have been intentionally introduced to leave a message about the End of Time. The ground plan of the cathedral in the shape of a huge cross has therefore most likely very little to do with the cross of Christ. It is far more likely that this cross represents the zodiac cross which explains why the cathedrals are aligned to the solstices.

The Notre Dame of Amiens, just like the Notre Dames of Rouen and Paris are aligned to the winter solstice. The axis of the cathedral runs from northwest (azimuth 295°) to southeast (azimuth 115°). The azimuth of 115° of the cathedral corresponds exactly with the azimuth of the sunrise at the old Celtic New Year’s Day Samhain (Halloween’s day) at 9-10 November.
The angle that the length axis of the cathedral makes with the east-west cardinal axis is 25°. Due to this angle the Sun at the summer solstice will resides exactly one hour before sunset at azimuth 295° (270° for the West + 25°). This means that the Sun is facing the west portal of the cathedral to shed its last light on the ‘Last Judgment’ in the tympanum. The setting Sun symbolizes the ending of an era, the ‘End of Time’.
In the nave of the cathedral an octagonal labyrinth is situated that during summer solstices aligns with the setting Sun along with the ‘Last Judgment’. In the centre of this labyrinth an octagon is depicted with two different crosses inside.

The first cross is formed by four angels, the second cross by four human figures among them the king, the local bishop and the architect of the cathedral.
The cross of the angels aligns with the cardinal directions and hence with the equinox axis. The intriguing fact about the octagonal labyrinth is that it aligns to the equinox (cardinal directions) and the solstice axis (with an accuracy < 2,5°) at the same time!

It’s of course no coincidence that the summer solstice evening Sun aligns exactly with both the ‘Last Judgment’ and this labyrinth. In my opinion the message of this labyrinth with its eight pointed cross existing of two separate crosses is that it is a reference to the Great Celestial Conjunction (Smelyakov/Wicherink 2006) of 2012 when the zodiac cross after 6480 years aligns again with the Galactic Cross. This moment corresponds with ‘The End of Time’.
Notre Dame de Paris, the eight pointed cross at the roof of the choir is exactly aligned with the winter solstice sunrise.
On top of the apse of the cathedral de Notre Dame de Paris an eight pointed cross is aligned to winter solstice sunrise since the cathedral has an azimuth of 115° (South East).
This is not unique for the Notre Dame de Paris since most cathedrals and churches have similar crosses placed on top of the apse, hence the cross symbolism is not restricted to cathedrals. At the spire of virtually every church a wind vane is placed in the shape of an eight pointed cross to denote the ‘cardinal’ directions. However it is completely impossible to tell the direction of the wind by means of this cross. There are two reasons. The first is that this cross is placed vertically and not horizontally so it is not aligned to the cardinal directions at all. The cross is placed perpendicular to the length axis of the church and in case the church (or cathedral) is aligned to the solstice (which is often the case), it means that this cross is aligned to the solstice Sun in stead to the cardinal directions albeit in vertical position.

Since the function of the wind vane can’t possibly be to tell the direction of the wind, it can only have a (Masonic) symbolic and/or esoteric significance.
In conclusion, the French Gothic cathedrals bear an astrological message about the End Times of the New Testament. As has been demonstrated in this article the biblical End Times is the equivalent of the Great Celestial Conjunction around 2012. The Second Coming of the Redeemer at the End of Time must therefore by interpreted symbolically as the rebirth of the Sun at the ‘End of Time’ heralding a new age.

“The New Jerusalem Diagram” is the name given by the scholar of ancient lore, John Michell [The original explanations in John Michell's books, especially "The Dimensions of Paradise", Thames and Hudson, 1986] to a geometrical construction that allows the “squaring of the circle” and the division of the circle to 28 equal sectors (a zodiac wheel) and the ceremonial positioning of the twelve tribes (or constellations) in a pattern of four camps at the four sides of the square.
John Michell has reconstructed the geometric pattern of the ‘heavenly city’ which is the template of the New Jerusalem of Revelation 21.
He discovered that this diagram served as the design (blueprint) for many sacred sites, including the Stonehenge, The Great Pyramid, St. Mary’s Chapel at Glastonbury and the City of Magnesia in Plato’s The Laws.

It turns out that also the Nazca glyph called “Mandala” aka “Sun-Star-Cross” perfectly matches the New Jerusalem Diagram.

It is no surprise that the NJ diagram matches blueprint for the The Dome of the Rock, a shrine located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem.
The wheel of 28 divisions is common to various esoteric systems and serves as representation for the schematic month: 4 weeks = 28 days. The solar calendar of the Dead Sea scrolls sect was of 364 days, which is a multiple of 28 ( 28×13 = 364). In many Sufi diagrams, including in the ceiling of the dome at the El-Aqsa Mosque* (not the Dome of the Rock) at the Temple Mount, there appears the motif of the wheel made of 28 divisions.

The NJ diagram is also hinted and enfolded (according to Micheell), in the description of the holy city, The New Jerusalem, whose descent from heaven concludes the Christian Bible.

Is it possible the 3D NJ diagram was used as a blueprint for the Crown Jewels?… Perhaps this is a case of a “secret hidden in plain site”?
The collective term Crown Jewels denotes the regalia and vestments worn by the sovereign of the United Kingdom during the coronation ceremony and at other state functions. The term refers to the following objects: the crowns, sceptres (with either the cross or the dove), orbs, swords, rings, spurs, colobium sindonis, dalmatic, armill, and the royal robe or pall, as well as several other objects connected with the ceremony itself. The Crown Jewels have a religious and sacral connotation. Their hidden symbolism seems to be related to the sacred geometry of the New Jerusalem Diagram.
The Construction of the New Jerusalem Diagram
The construction of this diagram starts with the attempt to “square the circle” by drawing a circle and a square that have the same circumference.
So in building this sacred diagram, one starts with a circle with a diameter of 22 units, and blocks it with a square of 22 x 22 units (like the number of the Hebrew letters, with which supposedly “heaven and earth were made”).
Then one draws from the same centre an additional circle whose diameter is 28 units – “the perfect number” that is already the number of the letters in the first verse of genesis and marks the circle of the seasons. The circle with diameter 28 has circumference of Pi x 28, which is as noted 22/7 x 28 = 88 – just the circumference of the square with edges of 22 and circumference thus 2 x 22 = 88.
The circle and the square have the same circumference, and they intersect in 8 points, where the square juts out of the circle in 4 vertices.
The building of the complete pattern continues with the drawing of 12 circles with diameter of 6 units – the number of letters in the first word of Genesis – Bereshit – as the first “perfect number”. The centers of these twelve circles are situated on the outer big circle, whose diameter is 28, and they touch (are tangent to) the inner circle, whose diameter is 22. Four of these circles are situated according to the points were the square is tangent to the inner circle, and the other 8 circles are placed according to the 8 points of intersection between the square and the outer circle.
There are two amazing consequences of this construction:
This construction squares the circle
It divides the circle into 28 equal segments
It reflects ratio 22:7 which is good approximation of the “Pi”
It reflects golden ratio 1.618
It reflects the ratio of 22:6, which issues theoretical-geometrical considerations is also the exact real ratio between the diameter of the earth and the diameter of the moon!
