INICIACIÓN A LOS NÚMEROS DE LA ARQUITECTURA O DE COMO DARLE FORMA A UN EDIFICIO
Los números pueden estar explicados matemáticamente en la “red” pero el problema que plantea el conocimiento de la arquitectura es: ¿cómo se le da forma con esos números a un edificio?. En arquitectura los números operan a partir de los polígonos estrellados formando concatenaciones, tal y como a continuación vamos a describir.
NÚMERO DE ORO - PENTÁGONO
El número de oro viene dado por la solución a la ecuación de segundo grado
x + x² = 1 x = 1+√5 /2 = 1,618033989
Propiedades 1/ 1,618 = 0,618 1,618... x 1,618... = 2,618...
Dado una circunferencia de radio 1 el lado del decágono inscrito en él es 0,618...
Dado un pentágono de lado 1, las diagonales de ese pentágono = 1,618...
La técnica con la que opera la arquitectura es la de las concatenaciones.
Una de ellas, la más usual, es la que presentamos en el dibujo. Si la circunferencia en color azul tiene R=1 el radio de la roja es R= 2,618, correspondiente a la que presentamos en “El vitruvio” de Leonardo da Vinci en la portada de este trabajo.
Se aplicará en la restitución de una tabla de F. Brunelleschi Nº 6.
 
NÚMERO DE PLATA - EL OCTÓGONO
Así como el número de oro está asociado a la √5 el número de plata está asociado a √2 y presenta una serie de propiedades similares a las del número de oro.
√2 = 1,414213562 tg. 22,5º = 0,414213562
tg.67,5º = 2,414213562
1/2,4142... = 0,4142... 2,4142... x 1,4142... = 3,4142...
Observa nuevamente la concatenación, esta vez con el octógono, de la circunferencia en color azul sobre la de color rojo.
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 1 la de color rojo es 2,4142....
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 0,4142... la de rojo es 1.

NÚMERO DE PLATINO - EL HEXÁGONO
De igual forma que el número de oro está relacionado con la √5 y el de plata con la √2, el de platino lo va a estar con la √3

1,732... x 2,732... = 4,732...
Combinación, esta, muy utilizada por Andrea Palladio.
Observa la concatenación de la circunferencia azul sobre la de rojo, a través del hexágono, directamente a la circunferencia azul. Si el radio de la circunferencia color azul es 1 el de la circunferencia en color rojo es 2 y el lado del triángulo inscrito es 2 x 1,732...
Este polígono es el más prolífico en la historia de arquitectura como vamos a verlo en los ejercicios.

n 1854 a slab of marble donated by Pope Pius IX arrived in Washington, D.C. He had it engraved “A Roma Americae,” or “From Rome to America,” as a sign of goodwill. He had sent it over to be included in the Washington Monument, which was then under construction. Many foreign governments had sent similar contributions to honor America’s first president. The Know Nothings, however, had no intention of allowing a gift from the Pope to be included in the Washington Monument. They were certain the stone was a sign of darker intentions by the Pope. So on March 9, 1854, under cover of darkness, a group of these anti-Catholics broke into the yard, stole the stone, and after damaging it with hammers they dropped it in the Potomac River. No one was ever credibly accused of the crime, despite reward offers and a public outcry. Many years later, however, after a tip, the stone was discovered… only to disappear again. But today, there is a stone from the Pope in the Washington Monument, this one was provided by Pope John Paul II in 1982.

NOTE: For those new here, please note that this strange thing that I do on this website is not the typical hindsight-driven dot connecting stuff that you may have seen out there. Here, much emphasis is placed on foresight. I regularly make predictions or multicontextual pattern projections to demonstrate that it is something very real - albeit 'impossible' according to the current paradigm - that I discuss and try to show again and again. So, for instance, even though I decided not to bring it up in the main text of the article purely for readabililty, both the April 2009 Italian earthquake and the January 2010 Haiti 'Big One' were, to a considerable degree, projected beforehand. (See here & here - the latter not including STRUG entries thus appearing less impressive than what was actually going on 'underground' projection-wise.) Even the latest Chile mega-quake was no surprise around here (especially on STRUG) - evidenced by the fact that I was able to quickly write up and post this article within 24 hours of the catastrophe. For many months, in fact, I kept highlighting the Vancouver Olympics (Feb 12-28) and its general timeframe, based on various patterns, in particular the following golden/phi-based timecode which had 'Big One' (mega-quake) written all over it.
Not surprisingly, there was to be further twists which I was able to closely follow, leading me to make a necessary adjustment just in time for (i.e. before) the early-January quakes including Haiti. (I haven't yet fully explained what caused me to make the adjustment but that it was a valid move is obviously not in question.) After Haiti, the status of the February 2010 window became uncertain - was it still radioactive or had it released all its energy in January? We now know the answer: Another small time shift, another 'Big One' (this time in Chile), coming the day before the closing ceremony of the 'V Olympics' instead of the opening ceremony. And it was decidedly pentagonal in nature. This is important because in addition to what's already been discussed the pentagram is nearly synonymous with (i.e. found encoded in its geometry) the golden ratio, i.e. '1 : 1.618', therefore linking back to the phi-based timecode above.
