Shri Shirdi Sai Speaks-26th June/Wonderful leelas during my Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Shri Shirdi Sai Speaks-26th June/Wonderful leelas during my Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Above all the sacred mountains of the world, the fame of Kailash has spread and inspired human beings since times immemorial. Mt. Kailash, (6,740m) high peak is situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, completely within Tibet. It is the perfect mountain with splendid beauty, with 4 great faces.. Its four sheer walls match the cardinal points of the compass, and its southern face is famously marked by a long vertical cleft punctuated halfway down by a horizontal line of rock strata. This scarring resembles a swastika, a Buddhist symbol of spiritual strength, and is a feature that has contributed to Kailash’s mythical status. The mountain is known in Tibetan as Kang Rinpoche, or ‘Precious Jewel of Snow’. – Lonely Planet. It is the spiritual center for four great religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, the Jain religion and the pre-Buddhist animistic religion - Bonpo. For the Hindus Mount Kailas is the earthly manifestation of Mt. Meru, their spiritual centre of the universe, described as a fantastic 'world pillar' 84,000 miles high, around which all else revolves, its roots in the lowest hell and its summit kissing the heaven. On the top live their most revered God, Shiva, and his consort Parvati. To the Buddhists it represents a gigantic mandala of Dhyani-Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, as described in the famous Demchog (Chakrasamvara) Tantra, the ‘Mandala of Highest bliss’. – Lama Anagarika Govinda: The Way of the White Clouds... For the Jains (an Indian religious group), Kailash is the site where their first diviner achieved enlightenment. For the older, more ancient religion of Bon, it is the site where its founder Shanrab is said to have descended from heaven.A single kora (circuit) of the mountain is said to erase the sins of a lifetime; ten- the sins of an age, while 108 ensure Nirvana. However, these numbers aren’t meant to be taken literally. To gain Enlightenment, after one kora or a thousand your mind must be in touch with the gods and holy things. Most Tibetans prefer to walk about Kailash in a single day.

Ashtapad is at an elevation of 4900 metres (17000 feet). Ashtapad, meaning Eight Steps, is the place where the first Jain Tirthankara Shri Rishabhadev Bhagwan also known as Shri Adinath Bhagwan attained Nirvana (salvation).

It was a bliss to be here on the third day of my Kailash Parikrama. After I completed the parikrama,- I went to Darchen and from there to Serlung Gompo to pay my respects to the most beautiful south view of the Kailash , Nandi Parbat and Ashatpad.

An intersting thing happened just a few minutes before we could go there-- one of my friends who had just come back from this place told me " Deepa, dont go -- U will not be able to see anything- there is a 4 and a half kilometer layer of ice that one had to walk on in order to get to this view and so all the people in that car decided not to go further and they came back without the darshan of this amazing view but still 12 of us went ahead with the plan - hoping for the best. After we reached there- seeing that layer of ice dissappointed us too but some friends were brave enough and they helped me to move on and then to our surprise the layer of ice was there for just 1/4 kilometer and after that -it was just a path of mud and stones which was not bad.. But one of my friends had injured herself during the second day of parikrama and was having a hard time walking down the trail. She kept telling me, Deepa , u go ahead - I can not move one more step. I kept encouraging her and told her that I will not leave her alone but she was in pain and was crying and asked Lord Shiva to help her....So once more Bholenath showed us His magic... All of a sudden from nowhere,- someone came on the bike--I stopped him and asked for a ride so he said he will surely give both of us a ride back and forth but we would have to pay 50 yuans each side per head .It was like Shivji, himself had come to our rescue . We both gladly paid him and sat on his bike for a short ride to the south view of Mt.Kailash, Nandi parbat and Ashtapad..So in all it was a pretty Adventerous trip.. And perhaps a call of destiny..

The weather was just perfect that day. We sat here for sometime and enjoyed the bliss of the divine darshan of Mt. Kailash.. We prayed for ourselves and our families ..I had names of devotees who had asked me to pray for them just one day before I left for the Yatra..All those devotees to whom I had sent a reply back on the 26th of may.I prayed for all of them over here since that would have been my last darshan of Kailash.. Along with the names of those sai devotees, I also had a letter ..It was given to me by a customer in my store in september of 2011.. Although , he was an american but he had visited kailash and muktinath in the past and when I told him that I am planning to go for the Kailash Yatra- He told me about his girlfriend who had cancer and was very angry with God.. So much that she could'nt stand to even hear God's name . He wanted me to pray for her if I was lucky to go there. I told him that I dont even know that if my wish will come true - so he said - I will write a letter and when ever u go there- just take that letter with u and leave it there.. In that letter, that boyfriend prayed for his girlfriend to make peace with god. I doubt, that girlfriend of his is still alive since she was in the last stage of cancer. But where ever she is, I prayed that may her soul rest in peace and may she believe in Gods existence once again..I kept thinking that may be I was called here to dilever that letter which had so much of pain, hope and faith in our creator..Great is Lord Shiva and even Greater are His leelas...

So at the foot of Mt.Kailash- where u see that layer of ice on the ground- I dug a hole over there and put that letter along with another sheet of paper which had all the names of Sai devotees who had asked me to pray for them..This was the most holy spot , I could find to leave the prayers ..

May the holy Mt.Kailash bless our lives with peace and make all our wishes and dreams come true.
Sai bhakt,
Deepa H
