Beltane (Pronounced "B'yal-t'n") is an ancient celebration of fertility. Fertility celebrations have their origins in Ancient Mesopotamia. Orgies took place along with feasting to encourage the fertility of food animals and the abundance of crops for the coming year. Beltane is directly opposite Samhain (Halloween) on the Satanic Calendar as Samhain is the time of reaping. Beltane is also the celebration of the return of the Sun, the planting of crops, and the rebirth of spring.

In Ancient Mesopotamia, this fertility rite was known as “Zagmuku,” Zagmuku was celebrated at the first New Moon after the spring equinox. The Ancients also celebrated the harvest, directly opposite Zagmuku, which was the original Samhain.

Because the holiday focused on rebirth, the original creation epic known the Enuma Elish, was recited on the fourth day of the festival which lasted 12 days. Originally, the celebration was in honor of the Sumerian God, Enlil (Baal) and this is where the name “Beltane” originates. In Mesopotamia, the New Year’s Festival also served to reaffirm the bond between the community and the Gods, the community was represented by the king in temple ritual, for the king was the one responsible for the continual tending of earthly harmony and was held accountable to the Gods. The king joined with the high priestess in the Inner Sanctum of the ziggurat, and both performed ritual sex.

The Satanic year is based upon the natural cycle. The eight major Sabbats are the equinoxes and solstices of the Sun’s year (666), and the 4 cross quarter days that come between them. The four equinoxes and solstices are based upon the motion of the Sun. The equinoxes are at the center of the Sun’s movement and the solstices are the endpoints of the movement. These four solar points are cosmic events based upon the movements of the earth and Sun, symbolizing the interaction of light and darkness. “This date has long been considered a 'power point' of the Zodiac, and is symbolized by the Bull, one of the 'tetramorph' figures featured on the Tarot cards, the World and the Wheel of Fortune. (The other three symbols are the Lion, the Eagle, and the Spirit.)” ¹

These are also seen in the Egyptian Sphinx. “Astrologers know these four figures as the symbols of the four 'fixed' signs of the Zodiac (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius), and these naturally align with the four Great Sabbats of Witchcraft.” ²

Beltane is midpoint between the vernal equinox and summer solstice. Due to the alignment of the earth at this important time, telepathic communication with the Gods and spirit world is very open. This is an excellent time to communicate with Demons

The 4 th of July Independence day as stated by Graham Hancock and Rober Bauval on Talisman corresponds to 24 June original Julian calendar pagan summer solstice which felt  10 days later on 1717  from the summer solstice. ( Precession of equinoxes )
The 24 June of 1717 the Grand Lodge of London was declared official, Saint John and Freemasons new year. ( Chapter 11 of Talisman book, a clue ? )

Equinoxes actually happen to be o 21/22´s for example skull and bones number is 322 and remembers for sure their foundation on a 322 equinox, so 321 in case of the Nicaea Council foundation and spring equinox - 10 days up to 1582 ( Gregorian calendar ) = 311 Madrid bomb and Japan Haarp Earthquake, all the same for the autumnal equinox :

921 -10 days = 911

33 Degrees

Number of the Master.

© Olga Morales Why is 33 degrees associated with Mastery? This was the question I asked myself when I delved into Masonic symbolism while researching my novel Eclipse of the Soul. Being an astrologer, I was convinced it was a celestial reference, for we measure positions of the planets and stars in degrees, minutes and seconds. The astrological circle equals 360 degrees - 12 zodiacal houses of 30 degrees each. The clue I needed was found in a Vedic (Hindu) astrology book where it stated that the Moon was exalted at 3 degrees of Taurus and debilitated in 3 degrees Scorpio. Exaltation was considered to be the optimum position, where the planet is strong and potent and debilitation was the opposite. Why 3 degrees of Taurus, I wondered? In Vedic astrology, the Lunar Zodiac is based on the Moon's movement against the brightest stars divided into 27 Nakshatras of 13 degrees and 20 minutes each. 3 degrees of Taurus corresponds with the Nakshatra called Krittika - which we know as The Pleiades and 3 degrees of Scorpio corresponds with the Nakshatra called Vishakha which we know as the North and South Scale of Libra called Tula in Sanskrit. If you plot 3 degrees of Taurus on the great wheel of 360 degrees starting with zero degrees Aries, 3 Taurus equals 33 degrees. This was the answer I was looking for. Alcyone is the brightest star in the Pleiadian cluster and thus Alcyone is 33 degrees - the number of Mastery. Further, I discovered that by using Etymology (origins of words) when the word Master is divided into two becomes Ma / Ster and it means Mother Star. Thus, Alcyone is the number of the Mother Star - 33 degrees.

The Pleiadian star system has been one of the most revered cosmic objects in history, poetry and mythology across all cultures. According to the cultural traditions, the seven visible stars of the Pleiades have been referred to by many names, such as the Seven Sisters, Krittika, Kimah, Flock of Doves, Hens, Virgins of Spring, Sailor's Stars and the seven Atlantic Sisters. 'The Pleiades were known as Seven Sisters by indigenous people in North America, Siberia and Australia and this common heritage means they were described more than 40,000 years ago.' 1

'The Pleiades seem to be among the first stars mentioned in astronomical literature, appearing in the Chinese annuls of 2357 BC, Alcyone, the lucida, then being near the vernal equinox--- And their beginning of the year gave rise to the title 'The Great Year of the Pleiades' for the cycle of precession of about 25, 900 years." 2

Professor Charles Piazzi Smyth in the late 19th century suggested that that the seven chambers of the Great Pyramid of Giza commemorate these seven stars. 3 'And here is a wonderful corresponding fact, that the date of the Great Pyramids completion, at midnight of the autumnal equinox…the Pleiades were distributed over the meridian of this pyramid, with Alcyone precisely on the line." 4

What if the Great Pyramid was actually built in honour of the Pleiades when they rose near the vernal equinox 2357 BC and completed by 2170, as suggested by Siess.

According to Albert Churchward the name of the Great Pyramid was 'Khuti,' which denoted the seven Lights, or Glorious Ones. Likewise, the Tower of Babel with its seven tiers was also symbolical of the 'Great Altar Stairs,' by which men climbed heavenward.

Many ancient traditions state that Alcyone was the Central Spiritual Sun, the Mother Sun that emits creative Light, that which births great teachers of Light into the world. It was believed to be the centre of the Universe around which our own solar system revolves. Our current astronomers do not support this idea although in the 1850's it well accepted. 'Science has at last discovered that the Sun is not a dead centre, with planets and comets wheeling around it but itself stationary. It is now ascertained that the Sun is also in motion, around some other and vastly mightier centre. Astronomers are not fully agreed as to what or where that centre is. Some however believe that they have found the direction of it to be the Pleiades, and particularly Alcyone. To the distinguished astronomer, Prof.J.H, Maedler belongs the honour of having made this discovery. Alcyone, then, as far as science can perceive, would seem to be the "midnight throne" in which the whole system of gravitation has a central seat, and from which the Almighty governs his universe.' 5

An astronomer will tell you this is complete rubbish but I want to go back to the ancient traditions. Alcyone was called Al Wasat, the Central One by the Arabs and Temennu, the Foundation Stone by the Babylonians. The next quotation I found in a wonderful book on ancient constellations called The Mazzaroth. 'Wasat, an Arabic name of Alcyone, transmitted by Ulugh Beigh from early Arabian astronomy, is the centre. It thus testifies, like that of Alcyone, to the knowledge of the first astronomers of the long lost but lately removed fact, that in this group is the centre of the revolving, contains the same reference, if explained by its primitive roots. The ancient name Alcyone, now so celebrated in the annuals of science, is evidently of Oriental origin, having the Arabic and old Hebrew article Al, prefixed to its root Cyon, centre. Its meaning, centre, foundation, anticipates one of the greatest achievements of modern astronomy, the discovery that to this point, this centre, gravitates the whole magnificent arrangement of the stars called the Galaxy, to which our sun belongs.' 6 Does Cyon not sound like Sion/Zion - the heavenly city of God? 'Glorious things of Thee are spoken, Zion city of our God.' Psalm 87. The Hebrews believed it to be the City of David- the City of the Lord- the City of Foundation.

I found an intriguing article by ken Raines called Jehovah: Ancient Astronaut from the Pleiades'7 Apparently for 62 years, 1891 - 1953, the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witness) taught that God resided on the star Alcyone in the Pleiades constellation and that from this star he governed the universe. It was also stated that the City of Zion in heaven was Alcyone. The original Watchtower magazine was called Zion's Watchtower. In Micah 4:8 of the Old Testament, it reads, 'And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.' Remember the Pleiades were most frequently represented as a flock of doves.

At this point I want to briefly divert to the Priory of Sion and its reported reverence for Mary Magdalene. The clue is in her name, which seems to mean 'of Magdala' - with some possible interpretation as 'place of the dove', 'place of the tower' and 'temple-tower'. 8 In the Woman with the Alabaster Jar Margaret Starbird writes that 'tower of the flock' in the above Biblical reference is translated into Magdal-edar.9 So was Mary Magdalene just a secret Pleiadian code and the Priory of Sion was actually the Priory of Alcyone? The so-called sacred Merovingian bloodline between Mary Magdalene and Jesus might actually refer to their Pleiadian cosmic origins. For example, like many other ancient cultures, the Mayans of Meso-America called the Pleiades 'the cranary' for it was the seedbed of their civilisation and the cosmic star mother who gave her children the codes of light.10 The Merovingians founded and named the city of Paris after Prince Paris, the son of King Priam of Troy. In the Iliad, Electra (one of the seven Pleiades) was the mother of Dardanos, the founder of Trojan race and according to David Icke, the Merovingian bloodline is traced back to Troy - another Pleiadian connection.

In The Templer Revelation, the authors suggest that Mary Magdalene and Jesus were Initiates of the Cult of Isis. Isis was the most venerated Egyptian goddess - the creatress from whom all arose. The sign of Isis is a circle with horns exactly like the sign of Taurus. Her dance of the seven veils corresponds with the seven stars of the Pleiades. I believe she was often portrayed as veiled because of the nebula around the western side of the Pleiades. I found this quote by J.R. Skinner in The Celestial Ship of the North by E.Valentia Straiton. 'Isis, Issa, is the Virgin mother of the gods. Neith, Isis, Hathor, Venus and others are all one and the same. Issa, or woman, or Egyptian Isi-s, Isis…but Isi was Jesse, the father of David, who was the father of Jesus, as Isi. So, indeed Isis in Egyptian was the feminine form of Isi, or Jes-, as a form of aish, man, was Jes-us.' 11

This quote was very exciting because Nicholas Notovitch, a Russian traveller- who while in a monastery in Tibet in 1887 was shown a manuscript by the head Lama claiming Jesus did not die on the cross however he travelled to India and Tibet and was known as Saint Issa. Also, Jesus in Arabic and in the Koran was known as Isa.12 His tomb is said to be in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir, described as the tomb of the prophet. Why would Jesus have been buried specifically in Srinagar - which means Great Serpent? The clue I believe is found in the word naga, which means serpent. In original Aramaic, Jesus was referred to as a naggar13 actually mistranslated into a carpenter in the Bible, when in actual fact I have found the word for carpenter to be nanger. Jesus was a naggar - a serpent of wisdom. Serpents were the symbol of High Initiates in the mystery schools of Isis in Egypt. 'Be ye as wise as serpents and as peaceful as doves' Matthew 11:16 'Many Gnostic traditions identified the Serpent with Jesus. In the Pistis Sophia, Jesus was the serpent who spoke to Eve 'from the tree of knowledge and the tree of life, which were in the paradise of Adam.' 14

The Phoenix Capsule symbolic of the Stargate. Stairway to Zion.
The Five-Pointed Star on Chilean Flag - Icon of Sirius. Red, Blue
and White - Colors of Sirius Star System. Stairway to Sirius.

This ascension was ritualized in the symbolic rescue of the 33 miners at the San Jose gold and copper mine near the city of Copiapo, Chile. The miners were stuck in a mine shaft shelter at 2,300ft, about 5 kilometres from the mine entrance.. It took 33 days for the drill to complete the rescue shaft. The rescue shaft had a diameter of 66 centimeters, which is 33 times two. They were rescued on October 13th, 2010. 1013. Ergo 23 and 33. The first note the miners sent up to show they were still alive was "Estamos bien en el refugio los 33" (all 33 of us are in the shelter), which was 33 characters in length. The director Rodrigo Ortuzar plans to script a film around the tale of desperate descent and rebirth, aptly titled "The 33" and it is slated to have a runtime time of one hour and 33 minutes. There are 33 days between 9/11 (September 9th) to 13/10 (October 13th ). The capsule used in the rescued was called "The Phoenix." The Phoenix capsule was measured at 13 feet long, and 26 (2 x 13) inches wide. The first miner that was rescued at the time of 11:11 PM and his last name was Silver. There is a big black healing stone near to the mine, said to have fallen from space several hundred years ago. The Incas were the custodians of this rock and they formulated a secret society called the Lords of the Black Stone. Which reminds me of the Black Rock in LOST that eventually formulating part of the Jack's odyssey to ascension. Incidentally, the Knights Templars was one of the groups that helped to free Chile from Spain and Britain; and the date of October 13 is quite symbolic to the Templars, since it was on that date in 1307 that the members of the Order was arrested and tortured by King Philip IV of France, leading ultimately to total disbandment by the Papacy in 1312. The red cross and symbolism of the Templars represents Sirius and the Bloodline of the Holy Grail. The miners were rescued after 69 days. 69 is 23 x 3. 69 is a Rapture (Ascension) Code, since it is believed that God's clock will switch from 69 to 70 - marking the beginning of the 70th week of the prophet Daniel or Tribulation. October 13th, represents 227 days following another Rapture. And on February 27th, (2/27) of 2010, a major earthquake of magnitude 8.8 hit Chile. The quake occurred exactly 33 weeks before the mine collapse. The Babylonian Empire and the Tower of Babel was established on the 33rd Degree Parallel. According to the Bible, Jesus died and ascended to Heaven when he was 33 years old. Solomon's Temple (Temple of the Sun) designed by Hiram Abiff, the Freemason, lasted for 33 years. This brings us back to the Stairways to Heaven, Stairways to Sirius, Stairways to Zion. The Star of David, since the Jesus is the Stairway or Stargate and the number of the Star of David is 33.  Because of Jesus' ascension at 33, the Master Number was attributed to the Master Initiate in Freemason, signifying the achievement of the highest spiritual consciousness. The DNA and Ascension themes is further seen when you consider that there was 33 miners in the mine for 69 days, six is representative of Earth joining with Heaven, represented by nine similiar to mythologies like that of Gaia/Uranus and Nuit/Geb. This entrains with the work of Mayan expert Dr. Carl Johan Calleman,  who believes that we are leaving the sixth night to enter the seventh day of the Galactic Underworld:

"As the thirteenth energy, or seventh day, of the Galactic Underworld starts on November 3, 2010 we may say that the particular Yin/Yang-polarity that this has been projecting onto the Earth is locked into position and will not be replaced by any further night in this Underworld."

Calleman believes that we are on course towards complete ascension of the cosmic pyramid at  the ninth wave or level, which resonates with my theory.

So, let's take it back where I started. According to Madame Blavatsky, the founder of the Theosophical Society, 33 and its extension 333 represents the resurrection and ascension from death like the Phoenix. In a handmade drawing of King Solomon's signet ring to show the deep meaning of 3, 33, and 333 a crude illustration of the Star of David is revealed.  The drawing signifies the escape of the death/reincarnation cycle or the Sirius-Sol convergence through ascension. The birth, death and reincarnated cycle of the Garden of Eden; of Isis, Osiris and Horus; and of Jesus. 333 is half of 666. As I have said before, 333 in Jewish Gematria is KUNDALINI and MASONIC LADER. Blavatsky's drawing appeared in her book "Isis Unveiled," and we have already mentioned that Isis represents Sirius.

"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3.

In our present state of amnesia, we subscribe fervently to the teachings and philosophies that emanate from religious strongholds, not understanding that we are witnessing the masking by the Luciferian Priest Class of Magicians of the devolutionary history of this world, the DNA hybridization and the posthumanism evolution towards the ascension of the "Serpent Gods." Perhaps the following symbolic video of the interstellar explosion of Sirius, the death and rebirth of the Phoenix and the red Aeon of Horus from Kanye West will open your eyes to the deception perpetuated in the illusionary matrix construct.

"It’s the story of a Phoenix fallen to Earth, and I make her my girlfriend, and people discriminate against her and eventually she has to burn herself alive and go back to her world... I’ve been feeling the idea of the Phoenix. It’s been in my heart for a while. It’s maybe parallel to my career." - Kanye West.

The True Scriptural Equinoxes are “NOT” around March 20 and September 23! Could someone show me where I am wrong in my thinking on the following?  The Historical evidence shows that the Babylonian observed the first new moon after the Vernal equinox. If someone believes the Babylonians has it right, they will also keep the first new Moon after what THEY BELIEVE is the vernal equinox. Now if someone BELIEVES the traditional equinox which is a moment in time when the center of the sun crosses the celestial equator, which happens around March 20, they will rightly observe the first new moon after that. On the other hand if someone BELIEVES the equinox is when there is equal light and darkness, as did the people during the New Testament according to the writings of Philo, which happens around February 20th, they will rightly keep the first new moon after that. What the world believes what an equinox is does not matter unless it squares with what people in the New Testament and before believes. The difference between the two beliefs is about 25 days which can make a huge difference in calculating the 1st month of the year and calculating the feats. Those who believe in the traditional equinox will have 12 hours of PURE LIGHT from sunrise to sunset at the Horizon. The problem with this is there is only 10 hours of PURE darkness and it puts BOTH the SHADED LIGHTS, 1 hour of evening/dusk and 1 hour of morning/dawn twilight, on the bottom half of the day instead of equally dividing them as was the case in Gen-1, i.e. there should be one of the twilight on one side of the 24-hour day and one on the other side in order for it to be divided equally. On the other hand those who believe the light and darkness was EQUALLY divided, INCLUDING the TWO twilights, puts the morning/dawn in with the day side of the 24-hour day and the evening/dusk in with the night side. The Almighty showed “no partiality” when dividing the light from the darkness. It is the evening and morning twilights that divides between light and darkness and He gives the same amount of twilight that brings on, or introduces, the rising of the sun at the horizon as he does after the sun sets at the horizon that introduces the oncoming mass of darkness. The division was equal and this is the way it was understood during the New Testament times, and before, according to the Historical evidence found in Philo’s writings who actually lived at that time and was an eyewitness as to how things were done and other historical evidence on the early calendar. This is important because our Savior observed the same feasts as the Levite Priest in the Temple. Read the rest of this article for conclusive Historical proof that people in the New Testament, including our Savior, BELIEVED in the equal light and darkness equinox as opposed to the traditional equinox that is used for the commercial calendar of today. When studying the history, and Scripture, you will see how when they located the equinox each year, by equally dividing the twilights of evening and morning or not counting them at all when locating the equal light and darkness/equinoxes. You can put one of the twilight with the morning half of the day and one of the twilight with the evening half of the night or you can just not count both twilights with either the light or darkness and it will yield the same result. When allowing one hour of twilight to divide the light and darkness in the morning and the same in the evening gives you 11 hours of pure light and 11 hours of pure darkness and this happens twice each year around February 20 and October 23rd, instead of March 20 in September 23. You can look in your Farmer’s almanac and find out when there is 11 hours from sunrise to sunset at the horizon and this more mimic’s the equinox or the very first day of the year in creation, when light and darkness was equally divided, than the traditional 12 hours of sunrise to sunset at the horizon. The reason is because you will have 11 hours of pure unshaded light and 11 hours of pure unshaded darkness with one hour of shaded light on each side on the day separating the two extremities which is a total of 24 hours. Ask yourself this very important question, why should I choose to determine the year from the traditional equinox around March 20 instead of the one Philo and our Messiah used which is around February 20 at which time there is truth equally divided light and darkness???  I have, in other articles, presented not only Scriptural evidence, Mathematical evidence, and Scientific evidence, but also Historical evidence from eyewitnesses who actually live during the time of the Messiah, that the true vernal equinox is when there is equal light and darkness which happens around February 20 instead of March 20, if anyone is interested. I also have conclusive evidence that springtime actually begins in Israel around the middle or end of February instead of March 20, if anyone is interested. I have posted some of this on my website at www.lunarsabbath.info . I will now elaborate a little more on the writings of Philo, who was a Levite priest, and an eyewitness as to how things were done and understood during the time of the New Testament.  Philo actually lived during the time our Savior walked on the earth and observed the same feasts and Sabbaths. The writings of Philo are very important because when we find out how he counted for the feasts, we automatically know how the priest in the Temple and our Savior counted.  The very first day of the year in creation was a true equinox when light and darkness was EQUALLY divided or separated from each other. Philo understood this separation was done BY THE EVENING AND MORNING TWILIGHTS. When allowing one hour of twilight in the morning and one hour in the evening, you will have this happens twice a year around February 20th and October 23rd alone the latitude of Egypt and Israel and everyone around the earth on that latitude including Georgia. The word “divided” in Genesis 1 is made up of “two” Hebrew words, which is divided between. According to Philo who lived during the time of the Messiah, it was understood that light and darkness was DIVIDED IN THE MIDDLE, which happens around February 20th instead of March 20. Here are some quotes from Philo verifying what they believed a true equinox is. Remember the Messiah observed the same feast and understood it the same as the priest in the Temple and that is the equinox is when the “length” of light and darkness are the same which happens twice each year. Here is the Historical evidence that the people during the time of our Savior understood the equinox same as I do.  Philo, who was a Levite priest, who was an eyewitness and lived at the time of our Savior writes,  THE SPECIAL LAWS, IV* Yonge's title, A Treatise on Circumcision.} XLII. (233) “Nature, therefore, has marked out those PERIODS IN EVERY YEAR, which are called the EQUINOXES, from the STATE OF THINGS WHICH EXIST AT THAT TIME with such DISTINCTNESS, that EVEN THE MOST ILLITERATE persons are aware of the EQUALITY which THEN EXISTS between the EXTENT of the DAYS and of the NIGHTS.”  NOTICE there is absolutely no doubt how the Israelites understood what an equinox was. He says it is the EQUALITY or sameness which EXISTS at that time between the EXTENT or “length” of the days and of the nights, namely when the equinox occurs. It is evident that back then the equinox was UNDERSTOOD as the equal length of day and night not when the Sun crosses the equator at the traditional equinox when there is 12 hours from sunrise to sunset. Philo also writes.  "WHO IS THE HEIR OF DIVINE THINGS XXIX. (146) “These things being thus previously sketched out, see now how God, dividing things in the middle, has divided them into equal portions according to all the ideas of equality which occur in the creation of the universe…. So, in the same manner, he had divided light from darkness, and day from night,… (149) From the spring equinox to the summer solstice, day receives an addition to its length, and night, on the other hand, submits to a diminution; until the longest day and the shortest night are both completed. And then after the summer solstice the sun, turning back again the same road, neither more quickly nor more slowly than he advanced, but always preserving the same difference in the same manner, having a constantly equal arrangement, proceeds on till the autumnal equinox; and then, having made day and night both equal, begins to increase the length of the night, diminishing the day until the time of the winter solstice.” (150) “And when it has made the night the longest night, and the day the shortest day, then returning back again and adopting the same distances as before, he again comes to the spring equinox.  Notice it is the LENGTH of the light and darkness that determines the equinox and not anything else. In all the places that Philo describes the equinox he never mentions anything about the equator or the horizon but he did mention the equitor in one place when speaking of temperature and zones but never associated it with the equinox. Philo also reveals how they understood the light and darkness was divided in creation, he writes,  ON THE CREATION IX. (32) “Moses is right also when he says, that "darkness was over the face of the abyss." …. then its adversary darkness yielded, as God put a wall between them and separated them,….and did not only separate light and darkness, but did also place boundaries in the middle of the space between the two, by which he separated the extremities of each. For if they had approximated they must have produced confusion, preparing for the contest, for the supremacy, with great and unextinguishable rivalry, if boundaries established between them had not separated them and prevented them from clashing together, (34) and these boundaries are “evening” and “morning”; the one of which heralds in the good tidings that the “sun” is ABOUT TO RISE, gently dissipating the darkness: and “evening” comes on as the sun sets, receiving gently the collective approach of darkness. And these, I mean morning and evening,” Notice Philo believes that evening and morning twilight is what divided the light and darkness. This means that he did not recognize the evening/dusk and morning/dawn twilights as either light or darkness but a buffer or divider between the two! This is huge and you need to meditate on this for a while because there is no way that Philo could not have believed a March 20th equinox with this line of thinking.  Philo also understood that morning happened BEFORE sunrise at the Horizon, at which time you have pure unshaded light. The Hebrew definition for “morning” is “dawn” and is a specific place and time other than sunrise which is also a specific place in time. Continuing on, (35) “But when light came, and darkness retreated and yielded to it, “and” boundaries were set in the space between the two, namely, evening and morning, then of necessity the measure of time was immediately perfected, which also the Creator called "day…..”  Do you see how Philo understood that evening and morning were BOUNDARIES which were set between light and darkness and was not counted as either?  Can you see how that they believed that there are four parts to the day, namely evening, morning, light, and darkness with evening and morning dividing between the light and darkness. This happens twice each year around February 20 and October 23rd when you allow one hour of twilight before sunrise and after sunset at the Horizon.  The above indicates the boundaries were set in the space between the TWO, the “two” is referring to light and darkness, and the boundaries were evening and morning which is literally “dawn” and “dusk” according to the Hebrew definition of evening and morning which happens about 60 minutes or so before sunrise at the Horizon and the same after sunset. The year is divided much like the day. From the fall equinox to the Spring equinox you have approximately 60 days before and after the winter solstice, a total of 120 days, this is the dark part of the year and about twice that much from the spring equinox back around to the fall equinox, this is the light part of the year.  The above was Philo’s understanding which is not contrary to Scripture or the Hebrew definition of “divided” in Genesis 1 which is made up of 2 Hebrew words which he understood to mean “divided in the middle”. Again, here’s a quote from Philo that shows he believes it was divided in the middle at creation.  "WHO IS THE HEIR OF DIVINE THINGS XXIX. (146) “These things being thus previously sketched out, see now how God, dividing things in the middle, has divided them into equal portions according to all the ideas of equality which occur in the creation of the universe…. So, in the same manner, he had divided light from darkness, and day from night,… It is very important to understand how they understood what equinox is because they understood it the same as our Savior and his apostles. I am told that it states in the Book of Enoch, Enoch chapter 72. “Man has erroneously made the Vernal Equinox the First Day of the Year. This throws off the Solar Calendar by one day. The First Day of the Solar Year begins when the Light becomes longer than the Darkness following the Vernal Equinox.” I have not verified the Enoch quote but I do know people that went by the book of Enoch observed the feast when I did.  At any rate I have verified Philo’s Writings and he believes like myself and the people who lived during the time of our Savior and that is the equinox is when there is nature made equal light and darkness and not March 20.  The following shows that March 1 was the first day of the year on the "Early Roman Calendar:  March 1st Rings in the New Year The early Roman calendar designated March 1 as the New Year. The calendar had just ten months, beginning with March. That the New Year once began with the month of March is still reflected in some of the names of the months. September through December, our ninth through twelfth months, were originally positioned as the seventh through tenth months (septem is Latin for "seven," octo is "eight," novem is "nine," and decem is "ten. "January Joins the Calendar The first time the new year was celebrated on January 1st was in Rome in 153 B.C. (In fact, the month of January did not even exist until around 700 B.C., when the second king of Rome, Numa Pontilius, added the months of January and February.) The new year was moved from March to January because that was the beginning of the civil year, the month that the two newly elected Roman consuls—the highest officials in the Roman republic—began their one-year tenure. But this New Year date was not always strictly and widely observed, and the New Year was still sometimes celebrated on March 1. Julian Calendar: January 1st Officially Instituted as the New YearIn 46 B.C. Julius Caesar introduced a new, solar-based calendar that was a vast improvement on the ancient Roman calendar, which was a lunar system that had become wildly inaccurate over the years. The Julian calendar decreed that the New Year would occur with January 1, and within the Roman world, January 1 became the consistently observed start of the new year. Middle Ages: January 1st Abolished In medieval Europe, however, the celebrations accompanying the new year were considered pagan and unchristian like, and in 567 the Council of Tours abolished January 1 as the beginning of the year. At various times and in various places throughout medieval Christian Europe, the new year was celebrated on Dec. 25, the birth of Jesus; March 1; March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation; and Easter. Gregorian Calendar: January 1st Restored In 1582, the Gregorian calendar reform restored January 1 as new year's day. Although most Catholic countries adopted the Gregorian calendar almost immediately, it was only gradually adopted among Protestant countries. The British, for example, did not adopt the reformed calendar until 1752. Until then, the British Empire —and their American colonies— still celebrated the new year in March." See website at http://www.infoplease.com/spot/newyearhistory.html  The following is conclusive scriptural proof that ALL three agricultural feasts each year are to be observed “within the year” which is impossible with the traditional equinox! The sacred year begins in Abib each year but there is an agricultural year which begins and ends in the fall with seedtime. This rules out the traditional equinox because Tabernacles will go into the next year resulting in only two feasts IN THE YEAR and one feast outside the year and into the next year/revolution! See and study Exodus 23:10, 14, 16 and 17 carefully. Ex 13:10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

Ex 23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me “in the year”….
Ex 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the “end” of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Ex 23:17 “Three times in” the year all thy males shall appear before YHWH.
Notice THE THREE TIMES “IN” THE YEAR is referring to the NATURAL YEAR which “begins” and ENDS in the fall with “seedtime” and is NOT referring to the sacred year which begins in Abib, Exodus 12:2. The Almighty did not break his covenant with Noah when he said that “seedtime and harvest and winter and summer shall not cease as long as the Earth remaineth”. The three times IN THE YEAR is referring to seedtime to seedtime. The natural year still begins in the fall and that is when the New Year seeds are sown and they are harvested in that “same year” BEFORE seedtime comes around again or else you go outside the year and into the next year with your feast of Tabernacles.  The agricultural year is from seedtime to seedtime and that’s what the above Scriptures are referring to and no harvest or feast that is sown in one year should go beyond the tequfah or “years end” or else it will be in another year. With the traditional equinox the third feast/Tabernacles goes past the tequfah/years end and into the next year of seedtime/sowing seed again and the command was to keep them IN THEIR SEASON and IN the year/Revolution. Ge 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and “received” in the “same year” an hundredfold: and YHWH blessed him." Notice, the seeds should be sown and harvested in the “same year”, from October equinox to October equinox! And of course the harvest-feasts will also be in that “same year” and so will the three times in the year all males are to appear before him, which is not the case with the traditional equinox. In 2010 I erroneously observed Tabernacles at the end of October around the 22nd which is a month past the traditional March 20 equinox and was in violation of the above Scriptures which says, “THREE TIMES IN THE YEAR”. If you do not believe the year still began and ended in the fall, think about this. Even after Exodus 12:2 where he said “this will be the first month of the year for you”, Chapter 25 explains this is not speaking of the agricultural year. Please read chapter 25 of Leviticus 1 through 12, which teaches that WHEN THEY COME INTO THE LAND every seventh year and all the years including the 50th year of Jubilee began and ended with seedtime in the fall. Again, based on all these Scriptures, the feast were to be kept WITHIN THE YEAR, and the agricultural year was from seedtime to seedtime and no harvest “or feast” was to go into the next year but were to be kept in their seasons or within the year. Someone thinks to chance these times and seasons, as Daniel prophesied. Let’s assume for a moment that February 20th was equinox or first day of the year in Egypt, when there is equal light and darkness, which was divided in the middle by evening and morning, as was the case on the first day of the year in creation according to Philo who lived during the time of our Savior. Although some places on earth who are on different latitude such as Ohio might be a little off equal light and darkness on February 20 because of the curvature of the earth. We can safely assume that the first month of the year would apply to everyone same as in Exodus 12:2 WOULD APPLY to everyone on earth even though they are on different latitude and their harvests will also be different. Or else someone in Ohio would start their year different from the Israelites and Egypt. I think most would agree that the first month of the year in Exodus 12:2 would have applied to everyone on earth no matter what latitude they are on and what stage their crops would be in, so why not use Egypt or Israel and everyplace on that latitude now as a starting point??? The sun will come back to that same place it was in Egypt year after year from then on and we can find the sun was not on March 20th by the crops and the wheat seed that had not come up yet in Egypt, etc. Due to the curvature of the earth there will always be a slight difference in when the light of the sun reaches them. Alexander Egypt is in the northern part of Egypt and is on the same latitude with Israel. Alexander is a major metropolitan city in Egypt and there were thousands of Israelite Jews, including Philo, who would go up to Jerusalem for the feasts of the Almighty and would take the first fruits of their crops. I am going to make a profound Statement: what we believe the Scripture teaches concerning time and appointments of the Almighty MUST harmonize or agree 100% with what Philo and the people, including the priests, who lived at the time of the Messiah, believed the Scripture teaches concerning time and appointments. i.e. we must believe what they believed unless they were rebuked for it or the Scripture spoke negative of it. In other words we must keep the same Sabbath that those people kept and the same appointments at the same time. The reason for this is because they observed the appointments the Messiah observed and if they were in error the Messiah was in error and I don’t believe that he was. Is there anyone who disagrees with this and why?  If we know from the New Testament that our Saviour kept the same Sabbath and Feasts as the Jews of that day, all we have to do is find out from History what Sabbaths and Feasts they” kept and how they understood the seasons. What if I had phrased it like this, we must believe like our Savior believed concerning the appointed times. The Key is they believed like our Savior and if we believe like them then we automatically believe like our Savior. When we have documented Historical proof from people who lived at the time of our Savior as to how the feasts and Sabbaths were observed, we have the truth on the subject because our Savior observed the same Feasts and Sabbaths.  EVERYONE KNOWS WHEN IT’S DARK AND LIGHT. NO ONE KNOWS IF ITS THE CENTER OF THE SUN that is ABOVE OR BELOW HORIZON or the top or bottom of the sun. What did he used to divide the light from the darkness???? Did the first day in creation begin with about 60 minutes of twilight in the evening and then darkness??? And was there about 60 minutes of twilight before Day???  The beginning of morning twilight in the morning gradually brings you out of the mass of darkness until full light of the sun at the horizon. This would be easier on our eyes and the evening twilight does the opposite and gradually takes us out of the Bright light into the on coming mass of darkness again, giving our eyes a chance to adjust that we do not stumble, and the process begins anew with a new 24-hour day. If the first day in creation began in darkness, this would set a precedent for all the other days that follow and they also would begin in darkness and if Adam was created on the sixth day of the week at dark, or the beginning of the day, this would give his sensitive eyes time to adjust to his first sunrise at the horizon because of the morning twilight before the full light. Try to imagine what it would be like without the twilights gradually introducing light and darkness and the sun just popped on in full strength and again off without any warning. Even spiritually, people are gradually drawn to the light of the word or it would be too much for them to bear. "In the time of the end, every divine institution is to be restored."    EQUINOX EGYPT Another clue in finding the scriptural first month of the year is also found in nature. The spring wheat, that had not come up in Exodus 9:32, takes 4 months to harvest according to nature, the agriculture Department and our Savior, John 4:35. This presents serious problems with the traditional equinox because the fields are under water in July 21 which is 4 months after March 21! The flooding of the Nile was so accurate that Egypt set their calendar by it, see websites below, and with the traditional equinox, the wheat would be underwater! The reason the spring wheat would be underwater with the traditional equinox is because if the wheat was not up on March 21, it would not be ready for harvest until July 21 which is a month too late because of the flooding of the Nile River. Whatever the first month of the year in Egypt was, it was the month that the barley was ready to be harvested and the wheat had not come up. This had to correspond with our month February and had to have happened 4 months before the flooding of the Nile because it takes 4 months for spring wheat to be ready for harvest and it had to be harvested before the flood which came around the middle of June. This puts the barley ready for harvest around the middle of February or 1 March as many sources and scholar agree and nature itself teaches. The bottom line is with the traditional equinox on March 21, the wheat that had not come up in Exodus 9:32 would not be ready for harvest until July 21 which is a month too late because of the flooding of the Nile River, making the traditional equinox impossible. I took the following from a website which states, edit"The flooding cycle of the Nile“The flood cycle was so predictable that the Egyptians even based their ancient calendar on it. Akhet was the first season of the year, between the months of June and September. Peret or the Egyptian Autumn season marked the time when their crops grew in the fields and were harvested,[1] running from October to mid-February. Shemu was the third and last season of the Egyptian year which ran from mid-February until the end of May; it essentially signalled the spring season of the Egyptian calendar.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flooding_of_the_Nile Another reference says, Akhet - the inundation (June-September): The Flooding Season.
No farming was done at this time, as all the fields were flooded.
http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/Homework/egypt/farming.htm You might ask what does all this mean? In a nutshell it means the first month of the year is Abib and is comparable to our months February/March, "NOT" the traditional March/April. One might argue that that was the first month of the year in Egypt but what about Israel, how would they have ripe barley in this same month, when they came into the land? In the land of Jericho they could have planted their barley a month earlier than Egypt because of the flooding of the Nile River limited Egypt's plantain. Egypt had to wait until the water receded, but Jericho did not. At any rate the spring wheat had not come up which would have been in the middle of February and the barley was almost ready for harvest which is in the middle of February as Albert Barnes points out in his commentary on this verse and you can verify that this is still true today. It is the length of the light from the sun that causes the barley to grow and ripen and this happens in February/March. Peoples crops further North of the equator will not mature at the same time but they can watch the great lights and determine their conjunction points of the length of light and darkness/equinox and solstices, this is what they were created for, i.e. days and years etc, Genesis 1:14. it is not the barley we are to watch for to determine years/tequfahs/revolutions/cycles/circuts. HarvestPeople’s harvests who are on different latitudes will be different because of the distance from the equator and therefore it would be impossible to bring the first fruits of their harvest at the time Egypt or Israel brings there’s. The only solution I see is the first month of the year in Egypt “applies to everyone”, regardless of their latitude and harvests. Suppose you were in Ohio at the time the first month of the year was pinpointed in Egypt by the Almighty. Would you let that month and that year apply to you also, even though you’re on a different latitude, or would you figure there is no way to work it out? Think about this. If March 20 is approximately equal sunrise and sunset for ever one on Earth, then one day before March 20 is one day before March 20 for ever one on Earth also. 30 days before March 20 is 30 days before March 20 for everyone. In other words the time that it is truly equal light and darkness around February 20 in Israel is February 20 for everyone on the Earth even though they may be a day or two off on their latitude and harvest. I believe the traditional equator and equinox is scientifically impossible because it will be equal light and darkness when the light of the sun shines in the center of the earth. And I see how Jerusalem and the regions round about is the center of the earth. The center of the earth was promised to the children of Israel for an inheritance according to the book of jubilees. "And there came forth on the writing as Shem's lot the middle of the earth which he should take as an inheritance for himself and for his sons for the generations of eternity Jubilees 8:12. An Egyptian pyrimid is said to be in the center of the earth according to global positioning. Again, if we can find out which of the Roman months corresponded with the first month of the year/Abib, in Egypt and Israel, we will have the truth as to when the year begins. This can be done and I know how to do it. Noah did not have the barley during the flood to determine the year and Noah could not have used a sundial to find the equinox on a moving ship either. He could have found the true equal light and darkness equinox without the barley or a sundial and so can someone who is even in a valley and cannot see the horizon. At any rate a sundial would be useless on a ship. With the traditional equinox, you cannot believe the day begins and ends at dark same as the first day of the year in creation. You must give up that and other truth in order to accept the traditional equinox to work because they use 12 hours from sunrise to sunset at the horizon and this makes there day have 12 hours of pure light,  60 minutes of twilight on each side of sunrise and sunset and only 10 hours of pure darkness. Again I could be 100% wrong but as of now I cannot see why the traditional equinox is a better choice, even if the Roman calendar  had a perfect track record on when the hours, days, months, and weeks begin and end which they do not. Scientific EquinoxEQUINOX Scientific Evidence The following shows the traditional equinox ignores nature and does not line up with the natural movement of the Sun. Equal day and night occurs when the Sun is Center of the TRUE EQUATOR, not the traditional equator. The seasons are caused by the Sun’s upward and downward motion across the equator from one hemisphere to the other, NOT with a mathematical count of how many sunrises and sunsets. With the traditional spring equinox there are 24 days from March 20 to the traditional fall equinox on September 23rd in which the Sun is hesitating in the northern hemisphere and the seasons is not changing while the Sun is hesitating BUT IS STILL COUNTED, by solar only Rome, as if it were still moving back toward the equator, see almanac. Remember the Sun crosses the equator in the spring up into the northern hemisphere until it reaches the summer solstice and then back down to the equator in the fall at which time you have equal light and darkness again. This process takes close to 8 months. The problem with the traditional equinox is that it ignores nature and what the Sun is actually doing because it counts the days in which the Sun is hovering and not moving down toward the equator AS IF IT WERE MOVING. This can be verified in any almanac by counting the days that the Sun is not moving. Remember it is the up and downward motion of the Sun across the equator that sets the seasons and when the Sun stays in the same spot the seasons stop changing. When the traditional equinox counts the 24 days that the Sun is not moving as if it were moving, it will change the time of the equinox from September 23 to around October 17th at which time there is true equal light and darkness. At any rate the traditional equinox ignores nature by ignoring what the Sun is actually doing. This will be explained along with how the traditional calendar is an arithmetical calendar in my next post if anyone cares to read it. The traditional calendar is an arithmetical calendar and is not concerned with the feast days of the Almighty. From the equal light and darkness equinox around February 20 when the sun proceeds on up into the northern hemisphere and comes back down to where it started and again produces the equal light and darkness around October 23rd. This natural process takes a number of days longer than the traditional arithmetical calendar “because” they are simply evenly dividing the approximately 365¼ day year in half, regardless of what the Sun and nature is actually doing. All this is a ruff estimation, I have not fine-tuned it yet. Remember the traditional calendar is based on arithmetic ignoring that the Sun actually stays in the northern hemisphere a number of days longer than September 20 equinox allows, which they call the nominal equinox. Nominal means “in name only”. Instead of a carnal count of counting solar days, as is the cases with the traditional equinox and the traditional Sabbath, why not let nature make it's own equinox when it reaches equal light and darkness. The Sun then leaves the fall equal light and darkness which occurs around October 17 and then crosses into the southern hemisphere and returns to the same spot around February 20 which is again equal light and darkness which happens around 24 days before the traditional nominal equinox. The following is from an encyclopedia and also exposes the traditional equinox and calendar. "Arithmetic and astronomical calendars“An astronomical calendar is based on ongoing observation; examples are the religious Islamic calendar and the old religious Jewish calendar in the time of the Second Temple. Such a calendar is also referred to as an observation-based calendar. The advantage of such a calendar is that it is perfectly and perpetually accurate. The disadvantage is that working out when a particular date would occur is difficult. An arithmetic calendar is one that is based on a strict set of rules; an example is the current Jewish calendar. Such a calendar is also referred to as a rule-based calendar. The advantage of such a calendar is the ease of calculating when a particular date occurs. The disadvantage is imperfect accuracy. Furthermore, even if the calendar is very accurate, its accuracy diminishes slowly over time, owing to changes in Earth's rotation. This limits the lifetime of an accurate arithmetic calendar to a few thousand years. After then, the rules would need to be modified from observations made since the invention of the calendar. The Gregorian solar calendar is an arithmetical calendar. It counts days as the basic unit of time, grouping them into years of 365 or 366 days; and repeats completely every 146,097 days, which fill 400 years, and which also happens to be 24,871 seven-day weeks.[10] Of these 400 years, 303 (the "common years") have 365 days, and 97 (the leap years) have 366 days. This gives an average calendar-year length of exactly 365.2425 days, or 365 days, 5 hours, 49 minutes and 12 seconds.A Gregorian year is divided into twelve months of irregular length, with no regular relationship among their lengths:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar  THE KEY is we should be looking for a conjunction point of equal light and darkness, or equinox, to begin and end the year/revolution. The ancients did not make a misnomer when naming the solstices which means sun stand still or stop and when we look for the solstice we are looking for when the Sun stops and goes back the other way. Why should we think that they did not know what they were talking about when they named the equinox, which is referring to equal day and night? At the solstices the day and night are at their extremes from each other but at the equinoxes they come back equal to each other at conjunction and then start over again. These are the most obvious conjunction places to begin and end a year/revolution. Therefore when we are to look for the solstice we are to look for when the Sun stops which will be at the point the day and night are at there extremes IN LENGTH and when we look for the equinox we should look for when the day and night is equal to each other IN LENGTH, NOT where the 365 days of the year is arithmetical divided equal. We are looking for equal light and darkness at the conjunction, NOT equal division. It is evident that equinoxes are not in the center of the solstices. It is also possible that the equator is not where they have it, but approximately 21 days off. Perhaps the map on the globe should be pulled down 21 days putting Ethiopia, which is the hottest place on Earth, where the traditionally equator is. When a light is shined in the middle of a glob or earth, you have equal light and darkness. As you move the light upward the light grows longer in the northern hemisphere until the summer solstice when the sun turns and heads back toward the equator and the light declines until the sun has returned to the equator or middle of the earth again. Due to the fact that it is not equal light and darkness at the traditional equinox lets us know the sun is not centered the earth’s equator. This can be proven by taking a light and shining it on the center of a globe, or any spear, which will simulate the Sun shining on the Earth. The bottom line is they are on an arithmetical calendar and are counting several days into a season when the Sun, that causes the seasons, is not moving. This can be conclusively proven in any Almanac. Ethiopia is also one of the oldest sites of human existence known to scientists today, having yielded some of humanity's oldest traces.[7] It may be the region from which Homo sapiens first set out for the Middle East and points beyond. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopia EQUATOR The equator is an imaginary line between the North and South Pole that separates the Earth into the two hemispheres, southern and northern. The light makes manifest all things and the light of the sun reveals where this equator actually is. When the light shines in the “center” of the Earth, or a globe, it causes one half of the Earth or globe to be light and the other half dark which is known as equal light and darkness or equinox. This can only happen when the light is shined in the center of the Earth. Each degree the light of the sun rises above the equator into the northern hemisphere the length of the day grows longer and you have the opposite effect in the southern hemisphere where the length of the nights grow longer and the day shorter. At the time of the traditional equinox, the length of the light has passed the darkness and has grown to 12 hours of pure light, leaving only 10  hours of pure darkness not counting the twilights or mixed lights. This is not equality and does not represent or mimic the very first day of the year in creation when he equally divided the light from the darkness with the twilights. The Hebrew word for divided in Genesis 1 is made up of two Hebrew words and one of them mean’s “between”, in other words he equally divided in the center and this is the way Philo understood it, to be equally divided in the midst.  WHO IS THE HEIR OF DIVINE THINGS XXVIII. (141) “But since Moses not only uses the expression, "he divided," but says further, "he divided in the midst," it is necessary to say a few words on the subject of equal divisions; for that which is divided skilfully just in the middle makes two equal divisions….. (143) But it is established by the incorruptible word of truth that there is nothing equal in inequality. God alone therefore seems to be exactly just, and to be the only being able to divide in the middle bodies and things, in such a manner that none of the divisions shall be greater or less than the other by the smallest and most indivisible portion, and he alone is able to attain to sublime and perfect equality….” According to the above, Philo believes the light in creation was equally divided from the darkness. Whether his belief is right or wrong does not matter. What matters is if he believes this, he could not possibly believe the traditional equinox because on March 20 there is 13 ½ hours of light and 10 ½ hours of darkness.  WHY ARE THE WRITING’S OF PHILO SO IMPORTANT?????
“In the quest for Historical evidence as it relates to the “true equinox” during the time of the Messiah, Philo is of the utmost importance because it reflects their understanding of things. The writings of Philo are very important for establishing all “ISREALITE PRACTICE” and belief both before and “during the Messiah’s” time here on earth. Philo lived from approximately 24 BCE until about 50 CE. Thus, his lifetime spanned not only the years prior to the Messiah’s birth, but also the years following His resurrection (not to mention the years in between). The evidence reveals that Philo’s beliefs were representative of those of Judaism during that period of time. Philo, who was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, was one of more than 100,000 Jews/Israelites living in that city. When the prefect Flaccus initiated a massacre of the Jews in the year 39 CE, PHILO WAS SELECTED to head the Jewish delegation that went to Rome to plead their case before Gaius Caligula.

Please pause for a moment and reflect on the “SIGNIFICANCE” of Philo’s having been chosen from among his peers for such a monumental task. “WOULD PHILO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR SUCH A MISSION “IF” HIS PRACTICE AND BELIEFS “HAD NOT” SQUARED WITH THOSE OF NORMATIVE JUDAISM/Israel?” No, he would not have been chosen unless his views matched those of his peers. We know from Philo’s writings that he “BELIEVED” "THE TRUE EQUINOX had to do with the equal division of light and darkness." If normative Judaism had practiced keeping the feasts by "the traditional equinox" while Philo rebelliously observed the "nature made equal light and darkness equinox”, would this detail have affected their decision to select him to lead a delegation to Rome??? ABSOLUTELY. The timing of the feast observance is very important and one of the most DISTINGUISHING MARKS of Israel. For Philo to have "gone against the grain" of Israel with regard to Feast observance would have signaled a break with Israel. We can thus discern that if Philo observed and believed the nature made equinox which is equal light and darkness, so did the rest of his fellow Israelites, including our Savior and His Apostles because there were absolutely NO CONTROVERSY between our Savior and the Jews concerning the timing of the feasts found in Scripture, as a matter of fact I can conclusively prove from scripture that the Messiah kept the same feasts as did the Jews. Remember they were all gathered at Jerusalem, from every nation kindred and tongue, to keep Pentecost because when it had fully come in the book of acts, they were there. At any rate, Philo’s writings teach how things were understood and done by the priest in the Temple and the Israelites at the time of the Messiah. Our Savior said, “Are there not 12 hours in a day?” The question is does these 12 hours in a day include the “morning/dawn” before sunrise as the sun pushes up the dawn, or are they measured from sunrise to sunset excluding the dawn/morning that is pushed up by the sun? Remember the sun is following the dawn/morning, how can you not count it??? Why wait till the sun peeks at the horizon before counting the light that is pushed up, as light? It is like saying that that light is not light because the sun has not reached the horizon yet. The orb of the Sun is following the light. The Sun is a dispenser of the light on the Earth, why not count the light that it dispenses upon the Earth before the orb reaches the horizon??? The stars rule the night and the stars are gone from sight 30 minutes BEFORE the Sun reaches the horizon in the morning and there is absolutely no stars at all for some time when the Sun goes below the horizon in the evening and this is because the Sun is still ruling and it is not scripturally considered night until the light, that is called day, leaves and then the stars rule. When the Scripture says the stars rule the night, it is referring to all of the stars. I do not believe that 2 or 3 stars rule the night. I live in a place where I cannot even see the horizon, and I bet the same is true for you, but I am still able to see when the light of the sun is gone and when all the stars have risen and I can no longer see the ribbon of blue in the tassels and all 3 of these witnesses happens at the same time because without light you cannot distinguish colors and none of the stars will be obscured by the light but will all be visible.  EQUINOX POSSIBILITY There is another Scripture and historical possibility for the equinox. The book of Genesis speaks of the light being divided from the darkness and immediately follows by saying, and there was evening and there was morning day one or the evening and the morning were the first day. Could it be possible that it was the evening and morning that was doing the dividing of the light from the darkness???  Philo thought this was the case because he taught that the evening and morning were buffers “between the light and darkness” so that they would not clash because of the two extremities. He writes,  WHO IS THE HEIR OF DIVINE THINGS XXVIII. (141) “But since Moses not only uses the expression, "he divided," but says further, "he divided in the midst," it is necessary to say a few words on the subject of equal divisions; for that which is divided skilfully just in the middle makes two equal divisions…..   Q. EQUINOX QUESTIONS Questions for the traditional equinox observers. A very important question for those who believe the day begins and ends when the traditional sunset when the sun is below the horizon, is this. Some people believe the sun should be at the center of the horizon, same as the sun is center the equator when determining the traditional equinox. Others believe it is when sun is BELOW the horizon at sunset, but with this belief the sun should be ABOVE the horizon at on the other side at sunrise in order to be consistent, if sunset is below the horizon on the other side. The majority believes that the Sun is just below the horizon on “both sides” at sunrise and sunset. My question is which one of the 3 methods is right and more importantly, WHY? How can you prove which is the scriptural sunrise and sunset??? Also where in your area can you find a non-obstructed view of the horizon, in order to get a precise reading? These problems go away with the nature made equinox. Another question is, if the light of the sun “stops ruling” the day when the Sun goes below the horizon, at which time there are no stars out, which one is ruling and is it day or night??? I believe the reason you cannot see the stars is because the Sun is still ruling and the light, that he called day, has not gone away yet or neither one is ruling during the twilight. The light will not go away until the scriptural sundown when it is dark, Genesis 15:17, and then all the stars will come out. First day I believe the first day of the year should be a carbon copy where it mimics the very first day of the year in creation which happens at equinox/conjunction of equal light and darkness. I believe anything more or less is not true equinox and would not reflect or MIRROR the first day of the year in creation. I have more information where Philo and also Babylon and other nations celebrated or connected the equinox to commemorate first day of creation when light and darkness was equal length. The sun returns to the same spot from which it started, after finishing it cycle of approximate 365 days, year after year after year and with the traditional equinox it goes a full month BEYOND the equal light and darkness and fulfills the prophecy of Daniel 7:25. There is equal light and darkness around October 17, 2011 and again around February 20, 2011. The only scientifically way this can be is the Sun goes 2 months down into the southern hemisphere and then back up 2 months to the place where it started which is the center of the Earth which causes equal light and darkness again! This is an absolute that cannot be intelligently argued against. It then crosses the true equator into the northern hemisphere and goes up 4 months and back down 4 months to where it started and it will be equal light and darkness again when it reaches the center of the Earth again. The only thing I can see that causes the equal light and darkness is when the Sun shines in the center/equator of the Earth. The center of the Earth was given to his chosen people and it is the choice part of the Earth, not to hot or cold. The thought occurred to me that if the Sun only goes 2 months in the southern hemisphere toward the South Pole, there should be a huge difference in temperature at the south pole. I looked up South Pole and sure enough it is the coldest place on Earth and much colder than the North Pole. You can conduct an experiment with a flashlight and the globe. Philo teaches that it is the stars that fix the boundaries of night and day by their rising and setting. CONCERNING NOAH'S WORK AS A PLANTER* {**Yonge's title, The Second Part of the Treatise about the Planting of Noah; On Husbandry (De Agricultura) to be closely tied to Concerning Noah's Work as a Planter (De Plantatione).} XXVIII. (117) (118) “for the light which is perceptible by the outward senses, and held in honour, being that which throws the most brilliant light both upon itself and upon other things, and upon its own parents the sun and the moon, and upon the most sacred company of the stars, which by their rising and setting fix the boundaries of night and day, and moreover, of months and years, and which have shown the nature of number,”  Notice it is the rising and setting of the stars that sets the boundaries of night and day. Not only that but the stars affect the boundaries of months and years because without their rising and setting you would not know when the first day of the month or year begins. Everyone wonders what part the stars play in the calendar and according to Philo they play a huge part in the beginning and ending of a day month and year by setting boundaries by their rising and settings. According to the above, did Philo acknowledge these boundaries and begin and end the day when the stars were ruling or when the Sun was at the horizon??? My home is located in a small bowl like wooded valley area where it is impossible for me to see the horizon and I doubt anyone reading these forms has an unobstructed view of any horizon. Nevertheless I was able to watch the light of the sun go away in the West at which time all the stars began ruling because the light of the sun no longer shone on them and at the exact same time that the light of the Sun went away, I could no longer see the blue in my tassels. These three witnesses happened at the same time. There are absolutely no stars out when the Sun goes below the horizon. You might see one peep out about 24 or so minutes later but it takes more than one or two stars to rule the night. This is something you can verify for yourself and then decide. Anyone who is too lazy or does not care enough to get up in the morning or watch at evening to check this out should not say anything one way of the other concerning this subject. I believe when the Scripture says “the stars to rule the night” it is speaking of all of them not just two or three or even half, but all of them. At any rate anyone who cannot see the horizon can still discern when a day begins and ends when using the stars and the light. The only time I see an unobstructed horizon is when I go to the ocean or desert. When I was in Israel many years ago, I remember our Gide telling us that Israel was once a wilderness with many trees before they were cut down on account of wars etc. Can you imagine someone in a wooded area or wilderness trying to decide the exact moment the Sun touches the horizon? This problem goes away with the true equinox and the true boundary setters/stars.

The following shows that originally March 1 was the first day of the year instead of March 20. "Early Roman Calendar: March 1st Rings in the New Year The early Roman calendar designated March 1 as the New Year. The calendar had just ten months, beginning with March. That the New Year once began with the month of March is still reflected in some of the names of the months. September through December, our ninth through twelfth months, were originally positioned as the seventh through tenth months (septem is Latin for "seven," octo is "eight," novem is "nine," and decem is "ten."January Joins the CalendarThe first time the new year was celebrated on January 1st was in Rome in 153 B.C. But this New Year date was not always strictly and widely observed, and the New Year was still sometimes celebrated on March 1.Julian Calendar: January 1st Officially Instituted as the New YearIn 46 B.C. Julius Caesar introduced a new, solar-based calendar that was a vast improvement on the ancient Roman calendar, which was a lunar system that had become wildly inaccurate over the years. The Julian calendar decreed that the New Year would occur with January 1, and within the Roman world, January 1 became the consistently observed start of the new year.Middle Ages: January 1st AbolishedIn medieval Europe, however, the celebrations accompanying the new year were considered pagan and unchristian like, and in 567 the Council of Tours abolished January 1 as the beginning of the year. At various times and in various places throughout medieval Christian Europe, the new year was celebrated on Dec. 25, the birth of Jesus; March 1; March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation; and Easter.Gregorian Calendar: January 1st RestoredIn 1582, the Gregorian calendar reform restored January 1 as new year's day. Although most Catholic countries adopted the Gregorian calendar almost immediately, it was only gradually adopted among Protestant countries. The British, for example, did not adopt the reformed calendar until 1752. Until then, the British Empire —and their American colonies— still celebrated the new year in March." http://www.infoplease.com/spot/newyearhistory.html
The following is conclusive scriptural proof that ALL three agricultural feasts each year are to be observed “within the year” every year which is impossible with the traditional equinox!

The sacred year begins in Abib each year but there is an agricultural year which begins and ends in the fall with seedtime. This rules out the traditional equinox because Tabernacles will go into the next year resulting in only two feast IN THE YEAR and one feast outside the year and into the next year/revolution!

Ge 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and “received” in the “same year” an hundredfold: and YHWH blessed him."

In a nutshell, the seeds should be sown and harvested in the “same year”! And of course the harvest-feasts will also be in that “same year” and so will the three times in the year all males are to appear before him, which is not the case with the traditional equinox.  In 2010 I erroneously observed Tabernacles at the end of October around the 22nd which is a month past the traditional equinox and was in violation of the above Scriptures which says, “THREE TIMES IN THE YEAR”. If you do not believe the year still began and ended in the fall, even after Exodus 12:2 where he said “this will be the first month of the year for you”, please read chapter 25 of Leviticus 1 through 12, which teaches that WHEN THEY COME INTO THE LAND every seventh year and all the years including the 50th year of Jubilee began and ended with seedtime in the fall. Let’s assume for a moment that February 20 was equinox or first day of the year in Egypt, when there is equal light and darkness, which was divided in the middle by evening and morning, as was the case on the first day of the year in creation according to Philo who lived during the time of our Savior.  Although some places on earth who are on different latitude such as Ohio might be a little off equal light and darkness on February 20 because of the curvature of the earth, we can safely assume that the first month of the year would apply to everyone same as in Exodus 12:2 WOULD APPLY to everyone on earth even though they are on different latitude and their harvests will also be different. Or else would someone in Ohio would start their year different from the Israelites in Egypt? I think most would agree that the first month of the year in Exodus 12:2 would have applied to everyone on earth no matter what latitude they are on and what stage their crops would be in, so why not use Egypt or Israel and everyplace on that latitude now as a starting point??? The sun will come back to that same place it was in Egypt year after year from then on and we can find the sun was not on mar 20 by the crops and the wheat seed that had not come up yet in Egypt, etc. In other words we must keep the same Sabbath that the people kept and the same appointments at the same time. What is it if I had phrased it like this, we must believe like our Savior believed concerning the appointed times. NO ONE KNOWS IF ITS THE CENTER OF THE SUN that is ABOVE OR BELOW HORIZON. Even spiritually people are gradually drawn to the light of the word or it would be too much for them to bear.  "In the time of the end, every divine institution is to be restored."

EQUINOX EGYPT Another clue in finding the scriptural first month of the year is also found in nature. The reason the spring wheat would be underwater with the traditional equinox is because if the wheat was not up on March 21, it would not be ready for harvest until July 21 which is a month too late because of the flooding of the Nile River.Whatever the first month of the year in Egypt was, it was the month that the barley was ready to be harvested and the wheat had not come up. I took the following from a website which states,

"The flooding cycle of the Nile

“The flood cycle was so predictable that the Egyptians even based their ancient calendar on it.

Harvest

People’s harvests who are on different latitudes will be different because of the distance from the equator and therefore it would be impossible to bring the first fruits of their harvest at the time Egypt or Israel brings there’s. In other words the time that it is equal light and darkness around February 20 in Israel is February 20 for everyone on the Earth even though they may be a day or two off on their latitude and harvest. I believe the traditional equator and equinox is scientifically impossible because it will be equal light and darkness when the light of the sun shines in the center of the earth. And I see how Jerusalem and the regions round about is the center of the earth. The center of the earth was promise to the children of Israel for an inheritance according to the book of jubilees. He could have found the true equal light and darkness equinox without the barley or a sundial and so can someone who is in a valley and cannot see the horizon. At any rate a sundial would be useless on a ship. With the traditional equinox, you cannot believe the day begins and ends at dark same as the first day of the year in creation. You must give up that and other truth in order to accept the traditional equinox to work because they use 12 hours from sunrise to sunset at the horizon and this makes there day have 13 hours of light when you add 30 minutes of twilight on each side of sunrise and sunset. Again I could be 100% wrong but as of now I cannot see why the traditional equinox is a better choice, even if they had a perfect track record on when the hours, days, months, and weeks begin and end which they do not.

Scientific Equinox

EQUINOX Scientific Evidence The following shows the traditional equinox ignores nature and does not line up with the natural movement of the Sun. Equal day and night occurs when the Sun is Center of the TRUE EQUATOR, not the traditional equator. The seasons are caused by the Sun’s upward and downward motion across the equator from one hemisphere to the other, NOT with a mathematical count of how many sunrises and sunsets. With the traditional spring equinox there are 24 days from March 20 to the traditional fall equinox on September 23rd in which the Sun is hesitating in the northern hemisphere and the seasons is not changing while the Sun is hesitating BUT IS STILL COUNTED, by solar only Rome, as if it were still moving back toward the equator. When the traditional equinox counts the 24 days that the Sun is not moving as if it were moving, it will change the time of the equinox from September 23 to around October 22nd at which time there is true equal light and darkness. At any rate the traditional equinox ignores nature by ignoring what the Sun is actually doing. This will be explained along with how the traditional calendar is an arithmetical calendar in my next post if anyone cares to read it.The traditional calendar it is an arithmetical calendar and is not concerned with the feast days of the Almighty. From the equal light and darkness equinox around February 20 when the sun proceeds on up into the northern hemisphere and comes back down to where it started and again produces the equal light and darkness around October 22nd. The Sun then leaves the fall equal light and darkness which occurs around October 22 and then crosses into the southern hemisphere and returns to the same spot around February 20 which is again equal light and darkness which happens around 30 days before the traditional nominal equinox. The following is from an encyclopedia and also exposes the traditional equinox and calendar.

 "Arithmetic and astronomical calendars

“An astronomical calendar is based on ongoing observation; examples are the religious Islamic calendar and the old religious Jewish calendar in the time of the Second Temple. It counts days as the basic unit of time, grouping them into years of 365 or 366 days; and repeats completely every 146,097 days, which fill 400 years, and which also happens to be 20,871 seven-day weeks.[10] Of these 400 years, 303 (the "common years") have 365 days, and 97 (the leap years) have 366 days. This gives an average calendar-year length of exactly 365.2425 days, or 365 days, 5 hours, 49 minutes and 12 seconds.A Gregorian year is divided into twelve months of irregular length, with no regular relationship among their lengths:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar

THE KEY is we should be looking for a conjunction point of equal light and darkness, or equinox, to begin and end the year/revolution.

It is also possible that the equator is not where they have it, but approximately 30 days off. Perhaps the map on the globe should be pulled down 30 days putting Ethiopia, which is the hottest place on Earth, where the traditionally equator is. Ethiopia is also one of the oldest sites of human existence known to scientists today, having yielded some of humanity's oldest traces.[7] It may be the region from which Homo sapiens first set out for the Middle East and points beyond. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopia

EQUATOR The equator is an imaginary line between the North and South Pole that separates the Earth into the two hemispheres, southern and northern. Each degree the light of the sun rises above the equator into the northern hemisphere the length of the day grows longer and you have the opposite affect in the southern hemisphere where the length of the nights grow longer and the day shorter. At the time of the traditional equinox, the length of the light has passed the darkness and has grown to 13 ½ hours of light, leaving only 10 ½ hours of darkness. This is not equality and does not represent or mimic the very first day of the year in creation when he equally divided the light from the darkness.
Philo lived from approximately 20 BCE until about 50 CE.
I live in a place where I cannot see the horizon but I am able to see when the light of the sun is gone and when all the stars have risen and I can no longer see the ribbon of blue in the tassels and all 3 of these witnesses happens at the same time because without light you cannot distinguish colors and none of the stars will be obscured by the light but will all be visible.

He writes,

First day
I believe the first day of the year should be a carbon copy where it mimics the very first day of the year in creation which happens at equinox/conjunction of equal light and darkness. There is equal light and darkness around October 12, 2011 and again around March 1, 2011. I goggled the South Pole and sure enough it is the coldest place on Earth and much colder than the North Pole. You might see one peep out about 20 or so minutes later but it takes more than one or two stars to rule the night.

This is Tarot II (2) - the High Priestess/Papess card and the third card of the Major Arcana.*  It consists, amongst other things, of a lady twixt the (black) B and (white) J pillars marked B and J.  B and J are the Jachin/Boaz Sts John of Jerusalem/St. Johns of Jerusalem - Evangelist and Baptist - but, in some representation (Alchemy), they appear to represent the Biblical Temple of Solomon looking out (J is on the left) whereas Tarot shows a symbolic view, seemingly looking in on a mystery (B is on the left).  Our mirror theme continues: black and white, left and right, in and out, fire (by night) and cloud (by day).

*In this version, the backdrop (between the two pillars) appears to be the Tree of Life of Emanation with the head of the High Priestess as Da'ath.  The lady is also the middle pillar, the third one.

There is some confusion and "consternation", however:

"The pillars of Solomon's Temple each had a name:

"And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz." -- I Kings 7:21.

Jachin was on the south, and Boaz was on the North."  http://www.sirbacon.org/mcompeer.htm

The source for this is 1 Kings 7-21 (RSV - Revised Standard Version):

" ... he set up the pillar on the south and called it Jachin; and  he set up the pillar on the north and called it Boaz."

See, for instance www.keyway.ca/htm2003/20030714.htm

But some sources quote a Bible reference but apply it to going from west to east when the Temple of Solomon was east to west, so you get:

"Black Pillar .... left .... north .... Boaz ...White Pillar ... right .... south .... Jachin ...Jachin is on your right hand as you approach the altar from the west... See II Chronicles , iii-17" www.excommunicate.net/jachin-and-boaz-a-coincidence-of-pillars

And again: "The pillar to the south he names Jakin ... and the one to the north ... Boaz" 1 Kings 7, 15-22.  And my source for this? www.mystae.com/restricted/streams/scripts/pillars.html

Not in my Bible, he didn't - "Authorized Version, 1959".  Not at I Kings nor II Chronicles, either.  But it's there, in the RSV.  And only there: bible.cc/1_kings/7-21.htm
bible.cc/2_chronicles/3-17.htm

Why ????????????  But it does match up with Tarot II, that way, I note:

In my notes, I have a sketch of a USA-style masonic temple with the northern pillar labelled Jachin, but is it right - and, if the original (Solomon) Jachin is on the right going in, it must be north*?  The Sirbacon author (link above), Mather Walker, continues with the observation that:

"Masonic lodges are the reverse of the orientation of the Temple of Solomon ..." (something which has) ... "caused ... confusion ... and some consternation amongst Freemasons." * *

Note: It's actually a debatable idea as regards the Temple of  Solomon, anyway, depending on whether the author (commonly, Jeremiah) of Kings meant going in or coming out  (in my Authorised Version).

*David Jay Jordan - http://www.geocities.com/davidjayjordan/BoazandJachinPillars.html
As here (and my thanks ... viel?):

**(Which pillar is north in a masonic temple - and, geoffss, 01-02-09, I've approached some experts as of yesterday - is important in terms of  whether representations indicate looking in or out re the inner sanctum?  More as I get it!).  Currently it's mostly Boaz according to many online sources - see, for instance, http://www.biblepages.web.surftown.se/ew04-b.jpg.  But aaaaaaah - above, below and Steiner differ!  Is it both whether you are going east or west AND/OR in or out - or just  confused? The model above matches Tarot II and indicates going in and to the west whereas the one below matches going out (of the Temple of Solomon) and towards the east!

www.phoenixmasonry.org/sickles_monitor_files/image002.jpg

The evidence is clear, perhaps:   Jachin (sometime "S" for Solomon) is associated with white-male-positive-north (Tropic Cancer)- fire and summer (even though it is a water sign!), whilst Boaz (sometimes "M" for Moses) is winter-black-negative-female-south (Tropic Capricorn)-water earth sign?  That's the logical placement  ... and it's the one detailed in Robert Lomas, TURNING THE HIRAM KEY*, 2005, Pp.124-5 for the Temple of Solomon and Rosslyn (as with David Jay Jordan, who terms the masonic version above "anti-temple".Here's material from a Leon Templo enquiry:

The Masons "say of the southern pillar [Boaz] ...Jachin, the northern pillar .."

Search "Leon Templo Jachin" for more on this.

See http://www.robertlomas.com/Freemason/Freemason.html
for the visual Rosslyn/Temple of Solomon Jachin-Boaz placings.  Click on "The Origins of Freemasonry" tab (left) and scroll down to "The Ground Plan".
Albrecht Durer, note, puts the male left, female right and tree of life/serpent centre, where the pillars become Adam and Eve expressed (also) as interlocking equilateral triangles

The Mystae link above notes the problem with Knight and Lomas, THE HIRAM KEY, which likens Boaz to Judah (south) and Jachin to Israel (north) in the same way as the two pillars of Egypt, Lower and Upper, and the theme of unity.  RSV is cited as the authority refuting this - but ONLY RSV (that I am aware of) of ALL bibles I've seen carries the cited identication.  It makes me wonder about its real provenance, intent and source!

However, at http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DL777RhL_Fz4%26feature%3Dshare&h=kAQASYtuYAQCps9dVXzi862wl_tc6WlUnjiL6IAv5-0SuQA we find (at 2 hrs 39-41 mins) Boaz as left, gold, "means sun" and 365' high (and, my note, since this is the West face, south), with Jachin right, silver, moon and some (lunar) 28' smaller in height (and north).   This is in the context of the Holy of Holies and Chartres Cathedral (both way in).  Remember here that masonic lodges go the other way.

I approached UGLE: "opinions differ on this matter" (Information Officer, The United Grand Lodge of England - and my thanks, geoffss, 02-02-09).  And so to Martin Ede, Freemason, from the GHMB, (03-02-09):
www.grahamhancock.com/phorum/read.php?f=1&i=260278&t=260174#REPLY

Martin's kind and thorough reply (my thanks, geoffss) indicates that there has indeed been a masonic problem with placement twixt a common J=left of masonic temple going in=north, as seen above) and an interpretation of Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews , where the perspective can be seen as looking out of the Temple of Solomon with J-right-south (as against the Jordan/Lomas/Knight model above).  This "Josephus" interpretation fits to that in the RSV of the mid-C20th.  I think it best, in the circumstances, to stick to Tarot, Durer, the Compass of the Wise and Steiner!

In Steiner-related art, the pillars are red/left (J) to violet/right (B), the spectrum of a rainbow (and he refers to them as "blood", red/Jachin being oxygenated), but a Tree of Life of Emanation based model would have B/female/left and J/male/right a a third, middle androgynous/hermaphrodite pillar (who is the candidate in Masonry - thanks "bigbytes", GHMB).  Balance/Lyre/Serpent-on-Tree/3* are terms for the middle.  As, presumably, would be Equator?

*?Wisdom, Strength and Beauty/ Seeing, Hearing and Feeling: arkphagrandlodge.com/threepillars.htm

The Evangelist (as above) is a Jesus-replacement (Midwinter), I think, and the model is once more about mirrors, opposites, complements and seasonal circularity, all these together with harmony/Union.  Note how the Gemini twins/mirror is II.  And Tarot Papess?  A mediaeval fancy was of a female Pope John!   Note also Janus (brought to my attention c/o Gary Osborn, GHMB).

* Sometimes the pillars/Sts John are termed Moses and Solomon,  and they denote stuff like Cancer and Capricorn, Fire and Water, sun and moon, life and death. The hermetic/alchemical Compass of the Wise, 1799 has J on the left but does a  typical USA Freemasons' temple, where Jachin and Boaz are inside and in the northwest
?

Is Jachin  north of Boaz = on the left going in or south and on your right (see above)?

Candidates enter between them from the west and progress east, "towards the (rising sun) light" - as against the Biblical Temple east-to-west orientation.  A sample layout:

http://www.semperfidelislodge.com/what_is_a_mason.html

I note Worshipful Master (WM), the "Light" in the East.  You can play a game - Mary Magdalene/Master Mason - with it by turning two interlocked equilaterals (hexagram) expressed as W atop the of mirror W (the "M").  And you also create the numerical value 36 (13 + 23) and sum 1-36 = 666.  And your equilaterals would thus side 6 by 6 by 6 with 60 degree angles.  What (solar) fun!

For more on the pillars and their import see Manly P Hall's SECRET TEACHINGS OF ALL AGES, Pp 307-8 available at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jachin_and_Boaz

NB: this symbology involving "J" couldn't exist until "J" was invented - so that's C16th AD.

The John the Baptist (left) is a current card depiction by the Church (catholicforum.com).  The ancient Tarot card on the its right I had as 'Papess' in my equally ancient notes - but it isn't, no, it's 'Faith', as in the Cary-Yale Visconti-Sforza of (arguably) 1466 AD, possibly by Bembo, and there's a 'Hope' and 'Charity' to go with it that is not present in our conventional/modern 78-card pack -   http://www.tarot.org.il/Cary%20Yale/

I carry Tarot 'Faith' because of its startling similarity to the conventional John, to its left, with the (stylised for him) upraised finger and cross and because of the 'female' John idea present in the Papess (John) and Beloved Disciple (John).  Does a 'John' somehow represent/code the Feminine-Divine principle?

This from Rachel Pollack, a leading light in this area - and my thanks*:

* It was, though, the COMPLETE ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO TAROT, 1999, by Rachel Pollack, P. 74, that carried the identification of this  card as "La Papess, or Female Pope, as shown in the Cary-Yale Visconti Tarot".  Um!

And here are two better 'takes' (of the above, as promised) to compare +:

Note (geoffss, 09-12-07) re 'Ptolemy': that's a mediaeval representation wearing mediaeval gear - and arguably carrying a mediaeval device, the cross-staff. But I find claims that Aristillus and Timocharis were using something similar circa 284 BC, that it had Chaldean origin, and that the Mayans used something similar.*  I think the pic. is by Andre Thevet, 1584.  Note the 'John' finger accompanies the staff, just as in the other two pics.  (I've enquired re the Catholic Saint pic. provenance but it seems to be 'after the fact 'rather than
before it'   I also found Baierl, early C20th AD - J the B is a girl there
-- and, Gary, there's a 23.5 there ,
somewhere**).
http://members.shaw.ca/mjfinley/astronomers.html

** Note 23.5 is the Latitudinal value of the two tropics - Cancer and Capricorn - so 47 degrees of Lat parts them.  The Sts John of Jerusalem represent these tropics.  Quite neatly, J + O + H + N = 47.  The relationship between 47 and mirror 74 is latitudinally quite interesting (it's near Stonehenge ... well, one is!) whilst 4:7 is fairly close to Root 3, the maths of  Gothic Cathedrals.  23.5 is also pretty much the mean tilt of the polar axis is the Earth.  Gary Osborn has explored 23.5 as a feature of art extensively.  Just search "Gary Ossborn 23.5" for a whole wealth of links and related articles. I note 3 and 33 as a tad masonic in some connotations.  Cherchez le right-angled triangle: and hey, I know what: Euclid 47.  Let  the opposite 4 and the hypotenuse 7.  Now, 4 squared is 16 and 7 squared is 49. 49 - 16 = 33, so the side is Root 33.  Our Jesus and John numbers, 4 and 7, combine via Euclid 47 to prouce near Root 3 and exactly Root 33. 774 : 447 is 99.97% accurate as Root 3 (and 7742 : 4470 is 99.9965% accrate).   Messin' with maths is all it is, though ... really ...

This Leonardo, circa 1501 AD,  featuring John, yarnwinder cross and finger got knicked not so long ago, as I remember:

The 'yarnwinder' cross associated with St John the Baptist is strikingly similar to the cross-staff (aka Jacob's Staff - albeit the source above says the Jacob's Staff was a later version of the cross-staff lasting into the C18th AD), a tool of use in determining Latitude in the Middle Ages  - and, perhaps, earlier.  It is notable, perhaps, that some mediaeval maps call Orion 'Jacob', and it is remarked (in Wikipedia) that the reason may be the similarity twixt Orion and the cross-staff.  Gary Osborn writes of the backbone of Osiris (assoc. Orion) as a start-fix for the heavenly precessional cycle/ circle. the djed/world axis (which he associates with the angles 23/23.5, a feature to be found in considerable art of the period 1515-1717):  http://www.book-of-thoth.com/article1526.html

Is it possible, I wonder, to posit Jacob's Ladder as this "spine" of Osiris?  And is the combining 'glue' the stars and navigation?  We'd have a Jacob, a Jacob's Ladder, a Jacob's Staff ... and Bethel, of course, Jacob's Pillow and Place of God.

A site I wholly recommend for its content, vision and mission comes to mind: Lexiline.  It's worth taking a look at the ideas carried regarding
'Jacob' and the Orion part of the night sky, notably the identification of Jacob with the area twixt the 7 Pleiades and Orion's Belt and twin Esau with the 7 Hyades (and we're also in the region of the Gemini twins*): at www.lexiline.com

*I find the script identifies Joseph with the area Aries to the Pleiades and Jacob seems to be the area from the Plieiades to the belt stars of Orion, the 'Stone of God'.   Lexiline calls Jacob 'prior' to Orion.  Worth remembering that the Jacob's (stony) Pillow here is associated with the Stone of Destiny/Lia Fail/Stone of Scone.  Lexiline associates Bethel with Betelgeuse, left shoulder of Orion  - the right is Belltrix (female warrior).  The Arabs had a stellar female figure encompassing    Gemini and Orion - and  "astride the celestial equator".  She was"the female one in the middle", jwz (al-jouza), Betelgeuse being 'the hand of ...'.

This is GENISIS 28, 18 turf  - Jacob erects a pillar  to mark a dream when the sun rises.  I think it would have to be about 10,500  BC for that sun rise to be Spring Equinoctal with Orion in the East ...

In the Hyades ref., it seems they "threaten rain when they rise with the sun" (BREWERS).  Very much not Sailors' friends!  The Pleiades, their sisters, however, are from the Greek 'to sail' as would Old Ma Pkeione.

Note (geoffss, 10-12-07): 'the obliquity of the ecliptic'.  Were there a true celestial 'up' and 'down' then that's how much Earth slopes off it, Pole-to
-Pole.  Gary Osborn has made - and is making - a compelling study of the use, 1515-1717, of the angle 23.5 degrees (and sometimes 23 degrees) in art.  And this angle can be assigned to represent the 'obliquity', above.

But it raises the question why?  There was nothing hidden about this angle: circa 1230 AD, page 1, SPHAERA MUNDI by Iohannes Sacrobosco, "23".  A 'Round Earth' AND its tilt - burn him, did they?  Well, no, actually - they made 'John Halifax' (to some) a saint and his book was virtually the required reading   for the navigators and mapmakers of the next 400 years!

23.5 does exist as "mirrors" though: the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, our Summer and Winter, are often accorded that (stylised) Latitude, N and  S of the Equator..  Now, if we look at the equinox suns of Spring and Autumn, will they not fall, figuratively, twixt the two 'pillars' of  Capricorn and Cancer and be (stylistically) 23.5 degrees from each whilst the total gap twixt these pillars will be 47 ( and J + O + H + N = 47)?  And we have two Johns - the
47 degree trip Capricorn to Cancer (Evangelist) and the 47 degree trip Cancer to Capricorn (Baptist).  It's a thought ... especially if you consider the  4 "Cosmic Angles" of Freemasonry (and "47" John):

the 23.5-degree angle, and its 47-degree double, are two of Freemasonry's "Cosmic Angles," according to Frank C. Higgins in his 1919 book, Ancient Freemasonry: An Introduction to Masonic Archaeology http://www.freewebs.com/garyosborn/235degreereferences.htm

This below from Gary to me - my thanks - c/o the Graham Hancock Mysteries Board (GHMB), noting Gary added that the Lomas and Knight book THE HIRAM KEY, 2000 AD, also carries this identification, and, apart from the orientation, an Earth X-section rectangle resulting from the Tropics is remarkably similar in its maths to the Stonehenge Station Stones rectangle, I note*:

* http://www.geoffss.plus.com/stonehengestationstones.htm

Hi Geoff

Yes, that's the correct way of looking at this.

The two pillars represent the two solstice positions of the sun on the horizon
- i.e., the two opposites.  In regard to consciousness - the two pillars represent the conscious-self (male) Summer Solstice and the subconscious-self (female) Winter Solstice.
http://www.geoffss.plus.com/tarotII.htm
And therefore one must be balanced - i.e., one walks between the two pillars - the 'Middle Way' ... central equinox position - the Unconscious(nothing)/ Superconscious(everything) Earth Upright and perfectly balanced.  Now we can see why the earth being upright would be the ideal situation - especially when looking at how all this relates to these esoteric principles as regards human consciousness.  Remember that during the two days of the equinoxes we have the same conditions as if the earth were upright.

The compass or dividers convey the same - as does the Level.

Best.
Gary

The Workings of Freemasonry

  • The fact of the matter is that, if there are Emblems with Symbolic Significance embedded in the DC Map layout and US Great Seal, AND if you want to be able to understand the nature of that significance to the designer(s) THEN you need to learn to understand the concepts implied in the design from the point of view of the designers- and you can't do that 'from the outside', that is, at the same time as you are attacking the moral rectitude of the symbolisms involved there in.

This means that really understanding the symbology involved in the DC planning map necessarily requires an understanding of the workings of Freemasonry (especially the Scottish Rites) and the Kaballah (embraced by the Scottish Rites), as the symbols in the map and seal are both Masonic and Kaballistic; but so is Bible symbolism. Remember that Jesus is portrayed as a builder (carpenter) who traveled to Egypt and lived 33 years. David reigned as King of a united Israel for 33 years in Jerusalem, after reigning his first 7 years in Hebron.

Any study of the DC map and the Great Seal needs to look at Masonry and its symbols, and some of what is written online about symbols by Masons is quite good.

    * Masonic Symbols - "Any graphical representation of Freemasonry should be viewed within the context of what Masonic ritual actually says about such a symbol rather than what others have personally attributed to it!" He contrasts personal and Masonic symbolism, while some raise the spectre of 'officially recognized' Masonic symbols vs. rogues. This, of course, just depends on who is in charge in the area at that time.

    . . .

Presuming that most readers are not versed in Masonic symbolism, I will review for the shortest time. While most Masons don't realize it, the Masonic ritual is derived from the Mysteries, which grew out of Greek tragedy, which began as festival dances which imitated the movements of the sun, moon and planets in the sky. These early circle dances were the origin of both social dancing and magical and religous ceremonial.

Note that this cannot be rightly called sun or star worship, because what is being imitated in the dances is the Divine Order of which the planetary movements are only one representation; Geometry is another. The goal of these imitative, sympathetic magic ceremonies is the invocation of Harmony via the imitation of the harmonious motions of the planetary spheres, and they were 'institutions truly designed to be a continuing benefit to the human race'.

  • On a short page called We're All Dancing in a Ring Around the Sun I compare the structure of the Masonic floor work to the Sufi Sema ceremony and ancient Greek Tragedy. The Masonic ceremony imitates the movements of the sun as seen from the earth, north of the equator in the first degree, where the sun moves from left to right; south of the equator in the second degree, where the sun moves from right to left; and between the tropics in the third degree. The sufi dancers moves from right to left in imitation of orbiting bodies, a helicentric image. Early Greek tragedies centered around a sacrificial ode, built around the same dialectic triad as Masonry.

"The dance consisted of three sections: strophe, antistrophe and epode. The strophe consisted of a turn, the antistrophe a counterturn, with matching rhythms and metres. Circumambulation was reversed: the movement from right to left was called the strophe and that from left to right the antistrophe. The epode was a fixed position."

  • In a set of pages that I am calling The Masonic Lodge Floor Explained, I intend to show how the symbolic lodge floor reflects the astronomical lines of the earth. All of that is explained in HPH Bromwell's book about Masonic Geometry. The first degree pertains to the June Solstice, the Tropic of Cancer, the northeast and the left (looking east into the sunrise.) The second to the December Solstice, the Tropic of Capricorn, the southeast and the right. The third degree pertains to the Equinoxes, the Equator, east and the center. [The cornerstone for the White House was laid in the northeast and that of the Capitol Building was laid in the southeast.]

  • The Master's Square - compares the Tabernacle, the Temple, and the New Jerusalem to the Masonic Temple, and investigates the universal, astronomically based, geometric method for Temple design and construction. This relates the patterns in the Masonic Floor to all the sacred objects in the Bible, as well as temples around the world.

  • Closely related is a page where I show how to derive the Sri Yantra from the template that is introduced in the pages above. Here is an animation that shows the first six triangles of the yantra drawn on lines on the globe. I suggest that the horizontal lines in the sri yantra are 15, 30, 45 and 60 degrees.

    * My Thesis *

  •
  •

  •
  •

  •
  •

  • Simply stated, my primary thesis is that the Washington DC planners used more than one image as templates for the design of the city map - one of those images was the cross section view of the Great Pyramid as seen above (see video), while two others were Metatron's Cube (see video) and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. (see video).

  • * Two Questions *

  •
  •

  • If we can accept the notion that the elements in the Washington, D.C. map may correlate with features in the cross-section image of the Great Pyramid , then two questions present themselves, 1) what is there under the river that correlates to the subterranean chamber, and 2) what might elements in the map tell us about features of the pyramid that we don't know about yet?

In 1646, John Greaves published a book entitled Pyramidographia that included information that he had gathered when he personally surveyed the Gizah Plateau, beginning in the 1636. You can see a copy of Greaves' illustration of the outside of the Great Pyramid on page 24 of Peter Tompkins' book Secrets of the Great Pyramid. The Greaves' exterior image of the GP has been cited as being the model for the reverse side of the US Great Seal, and I had, at one time, pointed to the interior image from Greaves' book (seen below) as one of the templates for the DC map layout.

I say 'at one time' because something occured to me that changed my way of thinking about that. I looked at Greaves image of the inside of the pyramid closely and noticed that the relieving stones and chambers above the King's Chamber weren't being depicted. I found that these weren't discovered until 1837. The subterranean chamber is also not depicted since it was full of debris when Greaves was there; yet when you look at the map, the relieving stones, the decsending passage, and the 'well shaft' all appear to be depicted.

  • The map/pyramid appears to include features in the real pyramid that weren't in the 1646 Greaves image, and that were unknown to Greaves, but apparently not the DC planners! This seems to point to an older source than the Greaves images. The big question is, what that source might be? Who might possibly have been in possession of 'prints' that showed features in the pyramid that were covered up in the construction process?

Below we see an illustration from a book by Colonel Richard William Howard-Vyse who 'proved' the existence of the upper chambers using gun powder. This is the first 'modern' depiction of the relieving stones and chambers, other than the map that is :-)

As the story goes, Howard-Vyse is said to have claimed that there were relieving stones and chambers above the King's Chamber, and that he could prove it. He then set out blasting his way up the interior of the pyramid. He is the one who named the chambers that were found during that event.

The state of the map makers knowledge of the pyramid structure appears to have surpassed that of academics in this case. And as I said, the other question is, if the map represents the pyramid and it included features that were unknown in 1791, might it indicate somehow features that we still don't know about?

  • We notice that the fit would have been better had the Capitol Building been a little bit further to the south. See how projecting the (red) line that connects the right side points of the pentagram passes south of the CB location. Penn Ave is bent on both sides of the Capitol because it was located so far north. You can see just how afar north when you project Penn Ave from Georgetown to the White House then straight to the East Branch. The point where the right side of the triangle crosses this straight line is the 'ideal' location of the CB.

Maryland Ave., which helps locate the Jefferson Memorial, also crosses at the CB and is bent. This means that the memorial is north of its ideal location as well. Projecting Mass Ave as a straight (red) line, shows that it is bent too. Note how the SE segment of Mass Ave is anchored on Lincoln Square, as the SE section of PA is anchored on the CB. While straightening PA would entail moving the CB south, straightening Mass Ave would entail moving Linc Sq east.

Note that the diagonal grid formed by connecting the corners of the pentagram features 23 degree angles like the tropics. [At the latitude of DC, the cross quarter days occur 22 degrees from due east and west, close to the same angle.] But this only works north of the WH, due to the displacement of the Capitol Building. The section of the map surrounding the pentagram is clearly the correct part. Everything south and east of there is displaced with the CB.

Below is an image of the current map configuration. We see how extending New Hampshire (left side of triangle) helps locate Arlington Cemetery and Memorial Drive, which is directed to the Ellipse from there, by way of the Lincoln Memorial. Notice that the bearing of Mem Dr is the same as that of NY and Rhode Island Aves. That is, Memorial Drive has been aligned with the diagonal grid north of the WH.

Here we show that a (blue) circle centered on the Ellipse (south of the WH) and extended to the apex of the triangle, also crosses the triangle at the ideal CB location. Looking at a 1792 topogrphic recreation, we see that the planned location for the CB fell on the steep side of Jenkins Heights. Note that each topographic line represents a rise of elevation of 10 feet. The compromise location yields an angle of 19.5 degrees between the CB and WH. The sine of 19.5 is .333.

On top of that, you can see that the front of the Pentagon Building (1, 2) is directed at that point where the right side of the triangle crosses the straightened PA, and that this line is on the same bearing as above (is aligned with the pentagram diagonal gird). Where that line crosses the 16th St axis (red dot) is the ideal location of the Jeff Mml. A (red) circle centered on the WH shows that point to be the same distance from there as the apex of the triangle is. That is the triangle formed by connecting the dots on the pentagram that Robert doesn't see. There are also those who suggest that the pentagram in the map is coincidental.

  • A third question that arises is whether Howard-Vyse's conjecture concerning the relieving stones and chambers was based on an engineering hunch or on a drawing such as might have provided the DC planners with their view of the pyramid cross section.
