Solstice and equinox Sun
The first thing that attracts our attention are the cardinal directions that are noted in the tessellated border of the board. According to the Scottish Rite freemasons, the mosaic on the border represents the planets of our Solar System.
There’s no doubt that the blazing star at the centre of the ‘Tracing Board’ is our Sun. The point within the circle depicted on the table at the foot of the ladder is the ancient representation of the Sun as well as the Egyptian hieroglyph for Ra, the Egyptian Sun god.
The Blazing Star corresponds with the equinox Sun that rises in the East and sets in the West. The top of the board is the East and the bottom is the West. The equinox Sun lies on the line connecting the cardinal directions East and West.
The Scottish Rite freemasons gave us the clue that ‘The grand parallel lines that bound the Sun between the North and the South’ are in fact the tropic of Cancer (North) and tropic of Capricorn (South). The tropics determine the extremes of Sun’s path at the summer and winter solstices.

Given these clues, there is therefore little doubt that the Suns on the left and right represent the solstice Suns!
The Sun on the left is the summer solstice Sun that rises in the North East and sets in the North West during the summer solstice. This Sun appears in the North East region of the ‘Tracing Board’.
The Sun on the right is the winter solstice Sun that rises in the South East and sets in the South West during the winter solstice. This Sun appears in the South East region of the ‘Tracing Board’.
The central Sun the blazing star has yet another very important significance; it represents the Sun on the Galactic Equator as we will demonstrate later.
The three Suns depicted in the ‘Tracing Board’ from right to left seem to suggest the movement of the Sun through the Galactic Equator at the equinox. This is the basic concept of the precession of the equinoxes.
The name ‘Tracing Board’ therefore may suggest the tracing of the Sun along the precession cycle since it presents the idea of the conjunction of the Sun with the Galactic Equator on solstices and equinoxes.
The latter is the concept of Galactic Alignment or Great Celestial Conjunctions as we have called them in our paper ‘Crucifying the Earth on the Galactic Cross’ (Smelyakov, Wicherink 2006). There are four of these conjunctions of the Sun with the Galactic Equator in a Platonic Year (one full precession cycle) that make up the four World Ages of the ancients.
The ecliptic crosses the Milky Way at two places; one place is near the Dark Rift in between the constellations Scorpio and Sagittarius while the other is in between Taurus and Gemini near the Pleiades.
In our present time the Sun aligns with the Dark Rift near the Galactic Centre at the winter solstice. Also during the summer solstice the Sun aligns with the crossing of the ecliptic and the Milky Way in between Taurus and Gemini. The sun now resides near the Pleiades and the Galactic Anti-Centre.
If we take a careful look at the ‘Tracing Board’ we notice that the Sun on the left is depicted in a black dark region. This dark region represents the Dark Rift of the Milky Way. If we look at the Sun on the right we notice that there are seven stars depicted near the Sun. The seven stars denote the stars of the Pleiades
There is one thing however that doesn’t quit seem to fit. The summer solstice Sun ( Sun on the left) is near in the Dark Rift, while the winter solstice Sun is near the Pleiades.
This is the reverse situation of the current Galactic Alignment that is occurring during era 2012!
Although the ‘Tracing Board’ conveys the idea of Galactic Alignment it is actually referring to the Galactic Alignment that occurred half a precession cycle ago (around 13.000 years ago). This is the time that many researchers have associated with the time of Egyptian Zep Tepi (first time), the Deluge and the destruction of Atlantis.
Bible and Astrology
In order to further understand the secrets of the ‘Tracing Board’ we must understand that the Bible contains texts that are an allegory of the esoteric astrological meaning that it conceals. We can only fully decode the ‘Tracing Board’ if we accept the possibility that the biblical references given by the Scottish Rite freemasons are in fact astronomical hints. It is beyond the scope of this article to prove the assertion that the Bible encodes astrological information.
We refer the reader to Jordan Maxwel and Michael Tsarion who have done a lot of research into the field of astrotheology.

So let’s look at all of the clues the freemason’s left on their website and in the ‘Tracing Board’ and review them in their astrological context.
Jacob’s Ladder
Jacob’s ladder appears in the ‘Tracing Board’ and is reaching into the Heavens. Jacob was the grandson of Abraham and Sarah, the son of Isaac and Rebecca. Jacob's 12 sons were the ancestors of the 12 tribes of Israel. The 12 tribes of Israel is a reference to the twelve houses of the Zodiac, just like the 12 apostles of Jesus are. That’s why Leonardo Da Vinci portrayed the apostles in 4 groups of three in his painting of the Last Supper separating the zodiac into four seasons.

Jacob dreamt of the Milky Way as a ladder with angels ascending and descending it. The ascending angles of course are the up and down moving stars in the sky.
And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!

Milky Way erect during summer
During summertime the Milky Way stands erect on the horizon and forms a ‘Stairway to Heaven’ or Jacob’s ladder. The idea of representing the Milky Way as a stairway or ladder leading to Heaven was a very common theme in ancient times. This idea was expressed as a rope, a tree (World Tree) or a ladder leading into the skies. The Maya called the Milky Way the Wakah Chan during summer sunrise ‘the raised up sky’ and it was represented as the World Tree.
On the website the Scottish Rite freemasons speak about the ‘The Volume of the Sacred Law’ appearing on the table with the circle and dot (Sun) supporting Jacob’s ladder. The Volume of the Sacred Law is a reference to the religious book, the Holy Bible containing the Masonic square and compasses.
This statement I believe states that the Sun (circle and dot) is supporting the Milky Way (Jacob’s ladder) and that this knowledge is contained in ‘The Volume of the Sacred Law’, the Bible which rests between the Sun (circle and dot) and the Milky Way (Jacob’s ladder). In other words they are speaking of the importance of the Sun on the Milky Way (Galactic Alignment), information that is contained in the bible...
Moses
The Scottish Rite freemasons write ‘there is a point within a circle round which a Mason cannot err; this circle is bounded between North and South by two grand parallel lines, the one representing Moses, the other King Solomon’. As we have explained above this is a reference to the solstice sun. So according to the freemasons, Moses must be equalled to the solstice sun!
This reveals yet another clue.
In the book Exodus a “pillar of cloud” is mentioned that guided Moses out of the desert during the daytime and a “pillar of fire” that accompanied him by night.
21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night;
22 the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.
(Ex. 13:21-22)
This pillar of cloud and pillar of fire is nothing less than the Milky Way:

Notice that the three pillars in the ‘Tracing Board’’ are surrounded by clouds! The horizontal architraves disappear into the clouds. Notice that there are three pillars and three clouds, but they are not normal clouds since they are all vertical clouds, pillars of clouds which is very unusual! The fact that the three pillars are also veiled by the three vertical clouds stresses the fact that the pillars and the clouds are linked. These are significant clues that the pillars represent the daytime ‘pillar of cloud’ representation of the Milky Way.
The pillars themselves appear in three styles ‘Doric’, ‘Ionic’ and ‘Corinthian’ representing Wisdom Strength and Beauty that are the attributes of the pillars that support a Scottish Rite freemason’s Lodge. According to the website they also represent Solomon King of Israel, Hiram, King of Tyre and Hiram Abif.
The astronomical significance of Moses (representing the Sun) is revealed while he ascends mount Sinai on his way to receive the Ten Commandments from God. The cloud in the following Bible texts refers to the Milky Way. Now follow this:
The cloud is coming.
9 And the LORD said to Moses. “Lo, I am coming to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you for ever.”
(Ex. 19:9)
The cloud is on the mountain (at the junction) waiting for Moses the sun to arrive.
16 On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
(Ex. 19:16)
Moses the sun is ascending.
15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
(Ex. 24:15)
When Moses enters the tent (covering or covenant), the sun is crossing the Milky Way.
9 When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the door of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses.
(Ex. 33:9)
Notice that the pillar of cloud stands at the door of the tent an indication of the erected Milky Way as it appears in the summer night sky.
One might argue that the association of the pillar of cloud with the Milky Way are wild speculations, but me must remember there is another clue given by the Scottish Rite freemasons mentioning the fact that Moses his tent or Tabernacle was erected due East and West according to a pattern shown by the Lord on Mount Sinai. This pattern corresponds with the ground plan of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem! We are surely dealing with an astronomical event here, since all temples in ancient times where aligned to the rising and setting equinox Sun due East and West.
Another interesting fact is that Moses was on the Mount and in the clouds for 40 days and 40 nights.
And Moses entering into the midst of the cloud, went up into the mountain: And he was there forty days and forty nights.
Exo 24:18
And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
Exo 34:28-29
Professor Sergey Smelyakov has calculated that the era of the Great Celestial Conjunction lasts exactly 39 years! This is the time that the Sun resides on the Milky Way during a Great Celestial Conjunction at solstices or equinoxes.
So the biblical account for the duration (whereas years are represented as days) of the Galactic Alignment era comes very close to the calculations made by professor Sergey Smelyakov. John Major Jenkins mentions era-2012 (1980-2016) as a period of 36 years. This period was calculated by the astronomer Jean Meeus, however Smelyakov has proven that his calculations are more accurate than the calculations made by Jean Meeus.
Finally in Revelation, the book that deals with the End of Time prophecies, we find another reference to the crossing of the Sun with the ‘pillars of fire’. The rainbow in the text symbolizes the ecliptic (arc of the sun).

LA SOMBRA DE LA LUNA EN LA PIEL DE LA MADRE TIERRA

El pasado 4 de enero de 2011, coincidiendo con el momento en que la Nave Tierra estaba en el punto de su órbita más cercano al Sol (perihelio) la Luna pasó entre la Tierra y el Sol. Esto no tiene nada de particular en cuanto que ocurre cada 29 días y medio. Lo particular es que el satélite cruzó por la línea entre el Sol y el umbral del amanecer de la Tierra en el momento en que la región de la Península Ibérica pasa del lado nocturno al diurno, de modo que los navegantes humanos de la Nave Tierra que viven ahí pudieron tomar la sombra de la Luna durante un rato. Se vio desde Cataluña (como desde Barcelona) aunque no desde Galicia porque la región gallega estuvo cubierta por las nubes. La sombra de la Luna no eclipsó a España, pues España está en otra dimensión en la que los españoles mantienen su propia sombra que llaman "crisis". Tres centros, el del Sol, el de la Luna y el de las pupilas (más negras que la Luna o la propia sombra de la Luna), estarán en conjunción y alineación. Fue un eclipse parcial.
Dado que la sombra de la Luna se proyectó en el umbral del amanecer de la Madre Tierra (su hermana Tierra), pudo verse al amanecer y por tanto hacia el oriente (este).

Mientras el planeta gira y la región en la que vivimos cruza el umbral de noche y día, las personas "amanecemos" y recuperamos la línea de visión del Sol. Amanecemos nosotros aunque decimos que "amanece el Sol" o "amanece el día". Así, mientras la "Cabeza de Iberia" amanece el día 4 de enero se vio también a la Luna ya eclipsando parcialmente al Sol, de modo que Iberia amaneció con una especie de Visera cósmica. Desde Galicia (cubierta por las nubes ese día) se hubiese visto una "salida" de Sol y de Luna al mismo tiempo. La Luna y el Sol saliendo juntos, como novios. Por eso, aunque todos los eclipses y amaneceres son de categoría especial, este amanecer eclipsado o eclipse tempranero fue "fuera de categoría".
Dado que el eclipse puede durar unos 6 minutos (6x60 segundos), en este caso de eclipse de Sol en el amanecer es como si el día tardara en llegar 6 minutos más de lo que le corresponde. Durante ese tiempo la Luna hace de sombrilla o parasol cósmico. En ese tiempo la Nave planetaria gira 1,5 grados y se traslada 108.000 kms, y la Luna recorre unos 360 kms en sentido contrario al del planeta Tierra.

En 2011 se produce un eclipse de Sol el día 1 de junio. Es parcial, y 14 días después, el día 15, ocurre un eclipse total de Luna.
El eclipse de Sol (y la sombra de la Luna) es debido a la alineación de la Luna entre el Sol y una determinada franja del planeta, pues es el satélite el que se incorpora a la línea Sol/Tierra al desplazarse 30 veces más rápido que la Nave Tierra. Durante un eclipse de Sol, la velocidad a la que nos alcanza o nos rebasa la sombra de la Luna es el resultado de la suma de la velocidad de traslación de la Luna (a 1 km por segundo) y de nuestro desplazamiento (tan inevitable como involuntario) hacia el oriente debido al giro de la Tierra y ambos movimientos son en el mismo sentido. El diámetro de la sombra de la Luna en la superficie del planeta viene a tener un máximo de unos 270 kms. Esto significa que la sombra de la Luna, cual alfrombra en el suelo de la Casa Tierra, es unas 13 veces más pequeña que la propia Luna. También podríamos extender 148 veces la sombra de la Luna por la circunferencia ecuatorial del planeta.
Nosotros tenemos lunares en la piel, la superficie del cuerpo, pero no son provocados por una sombra proyectada por la "luna", palabra de la cual deriva "lunar". Sólo en la superficie de la Tierra puede haber un "lunar" creado por la Luna, cuando ésta pasa por la línea imaginaria que une al Sol y la Tierra y proyecta su sombra en el planeta. Así que, considerando al planeta como Madre (la de todas sus especies) podemos decir que, a veces, a la Madre le aparece un lunar en su Piel: la sombra de la Luna.

Un eclipse de Sol por sí solo ya es un fenómeno espectacular independientemente de que sea considerado algo más que un evento astronómico. Sin duda que es una gran coincidencia que un puntito tan pequeño como es el planeta Tierra reciba la sombra de un puntito 3,6 veces aún más pequeño (la Luna) mientras flotan circulando por una región espacial tan inmensa y "vacía" como es el Sistema solar. Tan inmensa es que si abarcáramos en nuestro campo de visión sólo media órbita de la Tierra, no podríamos ver a la Tierra ni apenas distinguir el área orbital de la Luna. Aquí vemos al Sol (que es 109 veces más grande que el planeta Tierra) en el centro de las órbitas, y a "otro Sol" en el perímetro de la órbita de la Tierra. La imagen es a escala.

Pero la coincidencia es aún mayor cuando a tal alineación Tierra/Luna/Sol se suma otro punto más, pero no cualquiera, sino el punto básico: el propio Centro de la galaxia, lo cual ya depende de que la Tierra llegue al punto de su órbita en el momento en que para nosotros es 19 de diciembre y la Luna coincida en fase nueva. El día 24 de noviembre del año 29 ocurrió un eclipse así en Jerusalén al mediodía con la Tierra ante la Luna y el Sol y el Centro galáctico.

Y además, dado que el Sol está situado entre el Centro Galáctico y la región en la que desde la Tierra vemos a la constelación de Orión, ésta estaba justo detrás de la Tierra.
Esta escena es una recreación viendo al Sol, la luz, la Luna y su sombra en la superficie de la Tierra.
Y ésta más cerca y con más en detalle.
Con el cielo de la región de Jerusalén despejado, se habría visto a la Luna ocultando al Sol en plena franja de la Vía Láctea. Eso sí, difícilmente se distinguiría el Centro de la galaxia. Si pasas el cursor del ratón por la siguiente doble imagen se puede distinguir la posición del Centro Galáctico y la franja de la Vía Láctea formando un ángulo recto con el horizonte. Parece el Árbol galáctico visto desde 32º norte de una de las Frutas (planeta Tierra) de una de sus Ramas (sistema Solar).

Esta imagen está tomada del programa de astronomía Stellarium. En la página stellarium.org puedes descargar gratuitamente un planetario de software libre. Otros dos programas de astronomía se ha usado para encontrar en la misma fecha un eclipse en Jerusalén al mediodía. Los programas son "DISTANT SUNS", de Virtual Reality Labs (1996) y la Enciclopedia del Espacio y el Universo de Zeta Multimedia.

Si el programa permitiera añadir nubes a la escena, la oscuridad sería mucho mayor y por supuesto no se vería el eclipse.
Varios pintores han dibujado eclipses en sus cuadros, como Antoine Caron, y también en escenas sobre la Crucifixión, como José de Ribera, Pannemarker o Pesellino.
Un eclipse de Sol lo menciona Lucas en su evangelio (capítulo 23, versículos 44-45). En las dobles imágenes siguientes, los pintores imaginaron la escena con el Sol eclipsado por la Luna. También el pintor Pesellino (siglo 15) realizó un cuadro con un eclipse de Sol y de Luna (una luna ensangrentada). 14 días después del eclipse de Sol del 24/11/29 hubo un eclipse parcial de Luna.

De Wikipedia: Mark Kidger del Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (Tenerife, España), comparó el evangelio apócrifo de Pedro con las eclipses históricas. Indicó que el eclipse total del 24 de noviembre de 29 D.C. fue presenciada geográficamente muy cerca del lugar de la crucifixión, pasando la sombra cerca del norte de Jerusalén a las 11:05 A.M. siendo el momento máximo de oscuridad del 95% en dicho lugar y debió pasar desapercibido para la mayoría de quienes estaban fuera de sus casas. El eclipse fue total en Nazaret y Galilea durante 1 minuto y 49 segundos.

Lucas señala que hubo tinieblas desde la hora sexta a la hora novena (o nona, y la hora séptima y media como hora central), lo cual es según el uso horario romano (modernamente desde las 12 del mediodía a las 15 con las 13:30 como central). 3 horas es la duración media de un eclipse desde que la sombra de la Luna entra en la región en la que estamos hasta que sale, y en el caso de que haya nubes, la sombra de éstas hace aún más densa la oscuridad, y por supuesto, si la Luna estuviera pasando entre la Tierra y el Sol no podríamos ver que se está produciendo un eclipse.
Aquel eclipse de Sol (no necesariamente la crucifixión) ocurrió con la Luna y el Sol sobre el Centro galáctico en mitad de la franja de la Vía Láctea entre las constelaciones de Ofiuco y Sagitario, que simbolizan al Serpentario y al Centauro arquero que en la mitología griega se llaman Asclepio y Quirón, personajes míticos íntimamente relacionados por ser discípulo y maestro en el arte de la sanación cuyo arquetipo representativo por excelencia es la serpiente, porque su veneno contiene su propio antídoto, y de hecho es utilizada como símbolo por la ciencia médica y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (aunque con el dinero como intermediario). También la constelación de Ofiuco está en mitad de la constelación de la Serpiente.
También, el 24 de noviembre del 29 a las 13:30 horas, en la cenital de Palestina (trazando una línea desde el Centro de la Tierra pasando por Jerusalén y proyectándola al Firmamento) estaba la constelación del Cisne, llamada la Cruz del Norte (ver también constelación de la Cruz del Sur), es decir, la Cruz del Norte sobre la cruz en la que estuviera Jesús, y sobre Jerusalén y Palestina. Tanto la Cruz del Norte como el Centro galáctico están en plena franja de la Vía Láctea.

Si Jesús hubiera nacido en el año -7 (746 de Roma) y hubiera muerto en el año 29 (el 782 de Roma) habría vivido 36 años, aunque la idea generalmente supuesta y aceptada es que tenía 33 años al morir, lo cual significaría que habría muerto en el año 26, y en este año también hubo un eclipse en Jerusalén al mediodía del 6 de febrero con el Sol al final de la región de Acuario. A más posibilidades más interpretaciones.
Por su lado, también el tan célebre como críptico Nostradamus menciona un eclipse de sol y lo relaciona de alguna forma (a interpretación) con la pasión y muerte de Jesucristo en una de las cartas con las que mantenía correspondencia con el Rey Enrique II: "Esto será precedido por un eclipse de sol, más oscuro y tenebroso que nunca desde la creación del mundo salvo después de la muerte y pasión de Jesucristo" (Fuente: http://www.caesaremnostradamus.com/Escritos_archivos/Traducciones/Henry%20II.htm).

También en la Cuarteta 72 de la Centuria X, posiblemente se refiere de forma alegórica (como "un gran rey del terror") a la sombra de un eclipse de Sol en su futuro año 1999, mes 7: "En el año mil novecientos noventa y nueve siete meses, vendrá del cielo un gran rey del terror...". En el mes 8, 11 de agosto de 1999 ocurrió un eclipse total de Sol durante el que la sombra de la Luna cruzó Europa pasando por Francia. Una curiosidad es que fue el último eclipse total de Sol del mismo milenio (1000-2000) en cuya mitad (1503) nació Michel de Nostredame.
Evidentemente no sabemos con seguridad en qué fecha se produjo el eclipse "más oscuro y tenebroso" de entre los que podemos tener noticia, pero tal "tenebrosidad" sólo puede ocurrir cuando a la sombra de la Luna se suma la sombra de densas nubes de tormenta. Si Lucas cita el eclipse sería porque él sí conocía que había ocurrido o porque alguien se lo habría comunicado. De haber ocurrido y de haber sido visto hubiese sido lógico que hubiera quedado grabado en la memoria popular humana pues se habría presenciado a la Luna eclipsando al Sol en plena franja de la Vía Láctea y sobre el punto del Centro galáctico (aunque no se supiera donde estaba el Centro de la Galaxia). 14 días después ocurrió un eclipse (parcial) de Luna.
El pintor Francesco Pesellino realizó en el siglo 15 un cuadro sobre la Crucifixión mostrando un eclipse de Sol, pero también de Luna en la misma escena. Igualmente Pieter Pannemaker en el siglo 16.
Si imaginamos el eclipse desde el espacio "exterior" podemos entender que la SOMBRA DE LA LUNA es literalmente un LUNAR, y así como la piel de nuestro cuerpo tiene lunares será porque la Piel de la Madre (Tierra) los puede tener.

Actualmente, el "tránsito" del Sol por el meridiano celeste en el que está el Centro galáctico en plena franja de la Vía Láctea ocurre cada día gregoriano 19 de diciembre. O dicho de otra forma y de la forma que refleja la realidad: se trata del tránsito de la Nave Tierra por el meridiano celeste contrario al meridiano en el que vemos situado al centro galáctico. No es que la cronología se haya corrido o retrasado 25 días (del 24 de noviembre al 19 de diciembre en 2000 años) sino que durante 2000 órbitas de la Tierra el sistema planetario se ha desplazado una sección de círculo por el Espacio en torno a un centro más exterior y masivo (como la Tierra una 12ª parte cada mes en torno al Sol) y así el punto de la órbita respecto al Sol y el Centro galáctico, una dinámica que no podemos reproducir en calendarios (estructuras rígidas para un tiempo), y de hecho no es importante en nuestro estado de conciencia ni para nuestros propósitos personales durante una esperanza de vida de 70 años, ni para los de una sociedad que dura más pero no está integrada en el orden y dinámica del Universo. El hecho de que la Luna se una a la cita -aunque no siempre eclipsando al Sol- ocurre cada 19 años. Por eso este tipo de eclipse con la Luna ocultando al Sol sobre el Centro de la galaxia (y concretamente en Jerusalén) no es muy frecuente. De hecho volvió a ocurrir 475 años más tarde (año 504) y luego 437 años después (año 941). El siguiente sí se produjo otra vez 475 años después (año 1416). Y el siguiente en 1919 (503 años después). Estos cuatro dan una media de unos 472 años (25 ciclos de 19 años).
Es decir que si la Luna volviera a pasar justo por la línea Tierra/Sol durante un 19 de diciembre, se produciría un eclipse de Sol justo ante el Centro de la galaxia y apreciaríamos en todo su esplendor la Vía Láctea en pleno día, como el Árbol galáctico visto con ojos humanos desde 32º al norte del ecuador de una de las Frutas (planeta Tierra) de una de sus Ramas (sistema Solar).
También puede darse el caso de que la Luna esté ahí mientras pasa por el cono de sombra de la Tierra, tal como ocurre el día 15 de junio de 2011. El día 1 se produce un eclipse (parcial) de Sol Es parcial, y 14 días después, el día 15, se produce ese eclipse total de Luna con ésta y la sombra de la Tierra en la franja de la Vía Láctea y sobre el Centro galáctico.
En 2012, el 20 de mayo el Sol estará bajo las Pléyades y la Luna pasará entre la Tierra y el Sol, de modo que ocurre un eclipse ANULAR de Sol ante las Pléyades. La parte más densa de la sombra de la Luna pasará por el monte Fuji, la ciudad de Tokyo (y rozando a la ya famosa ciudad de Fukushima) y tras cruzar el Pacífico por el sur de las Islas Aleutianas, por San Francisco, prácticamente las dos únicas grandes ciudades habitadas por millones de personas desde las que se verá el eclipse con mayor nitidez.

The Camino: Walking the Heavens on the Earth

 I have recently returned from the Camino de Santiago, a 500 mile pilgrimage from the French Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in North-Western Spain. It is said that the remains of St James, the first Christian martyr, lie in the crypt at the mightily impressive cathedral in Santiago, and ever since the discovery in the 8th century, pilgrims have journeyed here from all parts of Europe. Although it is traditionally a Catholic pilgrimage, nowadays it is walked by those of many faiths and paths, some spiritual seekers, and some who may have no firm spiritual conviction, and yet are drawn to walk the path. I myself took five weeks to walk the route and it was one of the most profound and revelatory adventures of my life, truly a life-changing experience.
 I was reasonably well-prepared for the awareness-raising possibilities of a long pilgrimage like this, having done a fair amount walking along sacred paths before. I have, for example, walked a substantial part of the Ridgeway, walked along particular ley line routes in England and explored the alignments around Rennes-le-Chateau in the Languedoc region of France. And for the past four years, I have been co-facilitating (with Anthony Thorley) groups of Alchemical Journey participants in our monthly ritual walks around the different signs of the Glastonbury Zodiac. My primary motivation for walking these routes has been to facilitate a more lucid perception of reality and a deepening of spiritual awareness, and I have experienced many other benefits as well; a greater acceptance of issues and situations in my life, better relationships, and a growing sense of stillness within my being.
 Being an astrologer, my initial interest in pilgrimage was sparked by the idea that the routes themselves might in fact be earthly maps that mirror the patterns of the stars and the images of the constellations on the ground. This is made very explicit in both a landscape zodiac and on the Camino. ’Compostela’ means the field of stars, and refers to the Milky Way. Through my wanderings, and my wonderings, I have come to understand pilgrimage as a weaving together of heaven and earth, where each mindful step can be like a stitch in the fabric of creation, woven on the cosmic loom through an interlacing of imagination with my own physical locomotion. On the Camino de Santiago, we are walking from east to west, birth to death, with the Milky Way hanging overhead as a guide. The tradition says that as we tread the path, so we are simultaneously plotting the stars of the Via Lactea on the ground.
 The Milky Way was considered by many ancient cultures to be the pathway of the soul, the bridge between heaven and earth, and there are significant constellations that lie along this stellar highway that point to this. Most poignantly Cygnus, the Swan, who in some cultures was seen as the carrier of the soul of the dead into the next life as she flies gracefully along the heavenly tract before she dives into the western horizon. In Norse mythology, for instance, it was the swan maidens that carried the souls of the dead to Valhalla.
Much like my experience of walking a labyrinth where there is only one path, on the Camino there are no issues of orientation or direction, with the path so clearly waymarked by scallop shells and yellow arrows. Accommodation and places to eat and drink lie exactly on the route and there is no need to ever really leave the path, hence no way of really getting lost. So there is no requirement for the rational part of the mind to have to work anything out, every day it’s the same ritual – walk, eat, shower, wash your clothes, rest, write in your journal, eat, socialise perhaps, and sleep. Within that simple routine, the organising mind has to surrender, to let go, and allow in the imagination, the creative, re-connective aspect of our being. And that process always involves a profound shift of consciousness.
 I have learned through my own journeying that a pilgrimage is really about learning to die, it is about letting go of control, releasing attachment to the stuff of this world. I would say, too, that to pilgrimage is to realise the extent to which we have become separate from the stars, the stars from which each of us may trace our origins, and the stars to which we will one day return. We have, as a culture, forgotten that our origins and destinies are mapped out for us in the stars, by which I mean pointed to, through the enrichment of the imagination. I generally chose to rise early, well before dawn, and to walk the first couple of hours with the stars overhead to remind me of this profound truth.
In life, of course, we have our entrance into incarnation and we have our exit, and for the pilgrim on a pathway of spiritual initiation, these are represented by two particular points in the heavens. The start point of the Camino (St Jean Pied de Port for me, though this can be any starting point) has its heavenly correspondent close to the Galactic Centre at the intersection between the Milky Way and the ecliptic, between the sidereal constellations of Sagittarius and Scorpio. This is Capricorn in the tropical zodiac, and is known as the Gate of Capricorn. This was referred to by Plato as one of the entrances to the cave, which is the analogy he uses to describe the condition of the human being, entranced by the illusion of the material world whose shadows are projected on the cave wall. The Capricorn entrance to the cave is the source of the Light and it is esoterically understood to be the gateway of the Initiate, it is sometimes called the “Gateway of Spirit”, and the corresponding tradition is that spiritual avatars such as Christ and Mithras are born into the sign of Capricorn around the time of the Winter Solstice. The ruler of Capricorn, Saturn, oversees the beginning of the journey on the Camino.
The end of the Camino, a journey that guides us along the Milky Way, concludes in Santiago de Compostela, at the opposite point in the Zodiac between the constellations of Taurus and Gemini, close to what is known as the anti-galactic centre, the other crossover point between Milky Way and ecliptic. This point, the Gate of Cancer, corresponds to the entry into incarnation, into matter. It is sometimes called the “Gateway of Matter”. And this is the gateway that you pass through symbolically at the end of the Camino. So, seen in this way, the pilgrimage is really about walking consciously and mindfully into life, bringing all of your spiritual wisdom and experience to bear.
On my own journey, I found myself in a state of spiritual bliss very early in the journey, a flood of memories of lifetimes spent as a pilgrim, an enormous sense of love, my heart opening as wide as I’ve ever known it to – and such a familiarity with the realm of Spirit, correspondent with the early stages of the journey. Indeed, I found myself to be in a highly lucid and joyful condition for the majority of the walk, blister-free and injury-free and feeling as light as a feather most of the way. However, my arrival in Santiago, by contrast, was marked by intense physical pain, which struck in the last couple of days, and sickness at the end. I got seafood poisoning the day I arrived and entered through the lunar Gateway of Cancer, the sign that rules shellfish, and food poisoning! I have reflected a great deal on the uncomfortable nature of my arrival, and on how hard I have found it at times in my life to accept my incarnation in a body, and to really ground my being in the here and now. Much of my life, I feel, I have been learning to do this, and through the pilgrimage I have dropped into an even deeper level of acceptance and authentic embodiment. The symbolism of my arrival, though, could not have been clearer!
I will write more reflections about my pilgrimage in the weeks to come, and share more about how I am learning to integrate all that I learned and am learning from it.

In terms of Richard Hoagland's ' hyperdimensional physics' derived from the geometric 'message' of Cydonia (Mars), the conduit or 'stargate' between this world  and the Otherworld (i.e. hyperspace) is prominently represented by the angle 19.5°. According to the theory, it is the tetrahedral geometry signified by this angle that enables inter-dimensional energy transfer between the two realms.
 This 'stargate' geometry is expressed by a circumscribed tetrahedron (made up of four equilateral triangles). Interestingly enough, the hieroglyphic sign denoting Sirius was a triangle in ancient Egypt.
The connection is made evident by archaeo-astronomy. First, it is widely accepted these days that the 'air shafts' inside the Great Pyramid were designed to aligned with certain stars. One was specifically targeted toward Sirius in c. 2350 BC.
And at that pinpointed time (c. 2350 BC), Sirius and Orion's Alnitak (representing the Great Pyramid as per the Orion Correlation Theory) together produced the angle 19.5° (when Sirius was rising on the Giza horizon).[10]
 
Next, it is natural - given the Sirius-Great Bend connection - to wonder about the possibility of the Nile's 'Winding Waterway' having some relevance to tetrahedral geometry. Indeed, we do find a clear connection!
Believe it or not, the northern peak of the Great Bend precisely pinpoints the tetrahedral/stargate latitude, 19.5°N.!
What's even more incredible is the fact that the same Bend peak also pinpoints 33°E longitude. As those familiar with Hoagland's work would surely know, '33' and '19.5' are considered the two key numbers in the 'hyperdimensional code'! (Hoagland is just not yet aware of this Nile connection.)
In 1997, the esoteric importance of those numbers was overtly demonstrated as NASA landed a tetrahedron-shaped Mars Pathfinder lander on the Red Planet at 19.5 N and 33 W.! (That's pretty in your face, isn't it?)

El centro galáctico es el centro de rotación de nuestra galaxia, la Vía Láctea. En 1985 la Unión Astronómica Internacional adopto la distancia a 8.5 kiloparsecs del Sol.[1] Sin embargo, investigaciones recientes han sugerido distancias menores a esta.[2] Está en dirección de las constelaciones Sagitario, Ofiuco y Escorpio, donde la Vía Láctea parece más brillante.
Se dice que hay un agujero negro supermasivo en el centro de la Vía Láctea.[3]
Existencia y ubicación [editar]
Debido a que el polvo interestelar bloquea nuestra línea de visión hacia el centro de la galaxia, éste no puede ser estudiado mediante el espectro visible, el ultravioleta o por rayos X de baja potencia. En consecuencia, la información que actualmente se posee sobre el centro galáctico proviene de observaciones realizadas por rayos gamma, infrarrojos, observaciones de longitudes de onda submilimetrales, ondas de radio o rayos X de alta potencia.
Las coordenadas del centro galáctico fueron encontradas por primera vez por Harlow Shapley en el estudio que realizó en 1918 acerca de la distribución de los cúmulos globulares. En el sistema de coordenadas ecuatoriales las coordenadas son: AR 17h45m40.04s, Dec -29° 00' 28.1" (época J2000).
Agujero negro supermasivo [editar]
La radiofuente Sagitario A parece estar ubicada casi exactamente en el centro galáctico, y contiene una potente y compacta fuente de ondas de radio, Sagitario A*, la que podría ser un agujero negro supermasivo ubicado en el centro de la Vía Láctea.
Es de suponer que el disco de acreción gaseoso está emitiendo suficiente energía para alimentar la fuente de estas poderosas ondas. Un estudio de 2008 realizado con radiotelescopios en Hawaii, Arizona y California (VLBI) reveló que, en promedio, el diámetro de Sagitario A* alcanza las 0,3 UA[4] (unos 44 millones de kilómetros), bastante más grande de lo que mediría el agujero negro. Este último sería demasiado pequeño para ser visible con la instrumentación disponible actualmente.
En diciembre de 2008, científicos del Instituto Max Planck de Física Extraterrestre en Alemania anunciaron que lograron confirmar la existencia del agujero negro supermasivo en el centro de la galaxía, mediante el uso de telescopios chilenos. El agujero negro en cuestión tendría una masa equivalente a cuatro millones de masas solares.[3]
Población estelar [editar]
El pársec central alrededor de Sagitario A* contiene miles de estrellas. Aunque muchas de ellas son viejas estrellas rojas de la secuencia principal, el centro galáctico es también rico en estrellas masivas. Más de 100 estrellas OB y Wolf-Rayet han sido identificadas hasta ahora. Éstas parecen haberse formado en un solo evento de formación estelar hace algunos millones de años.
La existencia de estas relativamente jóvenes estrellas (aunque evolucionadas) sorprendieron a los expertos, quienes esperaban que la fuerza de marea del agujero negro central no permitiera que esto sucediese. Esta paradoja, conocida como la paradoja de la juventud, es aún más remarcable para las estrellas que mantienen órbitas muy cercanas con Sagitario A*, como S2.
Algunas de las explicaciones existentes para esta paradoja dicen que estas estrellas se formaron en un masivo cúmulo estelar fuera del centro galáctico para luego llegar, ya formadas, donde están actualmente. Otra explicación sugiere que las estrellas se formaron en un masivo y compacto disco de acreción de gas cerca del agujero negro central.
Es interesante notar que muchas de estas 100 o más estrellas parecen estar concentradas en uno o dos discos (de acuerdo a los grupos de astronomía de la UCLA y el MPE respectivamente), en vez de estar distribuidas aleatoriamente en el pársec central. Sin embargo, éstas observaciones no permiten obtener, hasta el momento, conclusiones definitivas respecto a este punto.
En un principio, se creía que actualmente no se están formando nuevas estrellas en el centro galáctico, aunque el disco circumnuclear de gas molecular que orbita el centro de la galaxia a unos dos pársecs de distancia pareciera ser un lugar favorable para que ocurran nuevas formaciones. Sin embargo, primero una investigación presentada en 2002 por los científicos Antony Stark y Chris Martin reveló que la densidad del gas en una región de 400 años luz alrededor del centro galáctico, concentrado en un anillo con varios millones de veces la masa del Sol, se acerca a la densidad crítica para la formación de nuevas estrellas, y finalmente estudios realizados con los telescopios de infrarrojos Spitzer y Herschel han acabado por mostrar la presencia de estrellas aún en formación en la región del centro galáctico.,[5] [6] y además en el caso de éste último telescopio cómo tal anillo es comparable al existente en el centro de otras galaxias espirales barradas cómo NGC 1097, aunque con una forma elíptica (100 parsecs * 60 parsecs), inclinado 40 grados y un tanto deformado, y perpendicular a los extremos de la barra de nuestra galaxia.[7] [8]
En consecuencia, Antony Stark y Chris Martin han predicho que en aproximadamente 200 millones de años habrá un episodio de brote estelar en el centro galáctico, lo que significa que se crearán rápidamente muchas estrellas, produciendo allí además una tasa de supernovas cientos de veces la actual. El brote estelar puede estar acompañado también de jets galácticos cuando la materia resultante caiga en el agujero negro central. Actualmente, se cree que se producen regularmente episodios de brotes estelares cada 500 millones de años en la Vía Láctea.

The Dual Stargates of Egyptian Cosmology

In the current development of Western civilization, the popular imagination has seized with a
peculiar ferocity upon the notion of the stargate as a sort of cosmic corridor leading to a whole
new world or a dimension radically different from ours. The cult classics Stargate and Contact as
well as astrophysicists’ theories about wormholes --a household word in the wake of Star Trek
and its ilk-- invest such ideas with an almost mythical potency. This phenomenon is not new but
may instead have accompanied human beings’ first realization of their own individual mortality.
Even if Near Death Experiences may not have been common in our evolutionary history, they
were certainly not unknown either. NDEs could have correlated the long tunnel which takes us to
brilliant white light of the afterlife and the birth canal which brings us into this life. Both may be
considered as forms of stargates-- the soul’s passageway to and from the celestial realm.
 The Book of the Dead, an ancient Egyptian manual of resurrection technology, identifies both the falcon and the heron/phoenix as key icons, each of which is apparently associated with aspecific directional portal or doorway in the sky. In Spell 13, the Spell for going in and out of the West (symbolic of the Underworld), the afterlife journeyer states: “I have gone in as a falcon, I have come out as a phoenix...”1 The former bird corresponds to the southern stargate of what may be termed “ex-carnation,” (“..gone in...” to the Underworld),  providing a conduit for the soul to leave the body after death. The latter bird corresponds to the northern stargate of incarnation (“...come out...” to the Earth), allowing the soul to return to a new body. The northern stargate is now located between the constellations Gemini and Taurus. Due to precessional shifting, this region of the sky was formerly known as the Gate of Cancer. The southern stargate located at the opposite end of the Milky Way between the constellations Sagittarius and Scorpio was likewise known as the Gate of Capricorn.2 We currently know that this latter region of the sky points to the center of our galaxy, where scientists believe a mysterious black hole lies hidden.
In the Spell for being transformed into a divine falcon, the Messenger addresses Osiris:
“O Lord of the Soul, greatly majestic, see, I have come, the Netherworld has been opened for me,
the roads in the sky and on earth have been opened for me, and there was none who thwarted
me.”3 In the same manner the Spell for being transformed into a heron states: “I am vindicated
on earth, and the terror of me is in the sky -- and vice versa; it is my strength which makes me
victorious to the height of the sky, I am held in respect to the breadth of the sky, my strides are
towards the towns of the Silent Land [the realm of the dead].”4 Spell 17 proclaims: “I am that
great phoenix which is in Heliopolis [in Lower Egypt to the north], the supervisor of what
exists... I go on the road which I know in front of the Island of the Just. What is it? It is Rosetjau
[or Rostau, the Netherworld]. The southern gate is in Naref [the necropolis at Heracleopolis, near
the Faiyum, or the lake and marshy area west of the Nile in Middle Egypt], the northern gate is in
the Mound of Osiris [Heliopolis]; as for the Island of the Just, it is Abydos [Upper Egypt far to
the south].”5
The oasis of the Faiyum was probably the naturalistic origin of the concept of the Field of
Rushes, or Field of Reeds, a sort of Egyptian Elysian Fields. Some of the vignettes for this region
in The Book of the Dead depict the Heron of Plenty perched upon a small pyramid. It is
interesting to note that the hieroglyph of a heron upon a pyramid corresponds to the word bah,
meaning “to flood, to inundate.”6 Also shown is a celestial bark containing a staircase (rather like
half of a stepped pyramid cut vertically), which connotes transcendence. Commenting on
Egyptian funerary literature, the renowned scholar Zecharia Sitchin writes: “The pictorial
depictions which accompanied the hieroglyphic texts surprisingly showed the Stream of Osiris as
meandering its way from an agricultural area, though a chain of mountains, to where the stream
divides into tributaries. There, watched over by the legendary Phoenix birds, the Stairway to
Heaven was situated; there, the Celestial Boat of Ra was depicted as sitting atop a mountain, or
rising heavenward upon streams of fire.”7 In papyrus illustrations of The Field of Rushes we also
find either the falcon or a small, human-headed bird representing the ba (homonym of bah), or
soul, perched atop a pylon, which is a massive rectangular gateway to a temple or hypostyle hall.8
Thus, the pylon is a perfect symbol for the stargate. In addition, the walls of the Field of Rushes
are made of iron, presumably meteoric iron, which further stresses its supernal connotation.9
Egypt is known as the Two Lands: Lower Egypt and Upper Egypt. Following the
Hermetic maxim “As above, so below,” these correspond to the northern and southern stargates
respectively, much like the twin poles of an umbrella base, located along the celestial Nile River,
i.e., the Milky Way. “The Milky Way will not reject me, the rebels will not have power over me,
I shall not be turned away from your portals, the doors shall not be closed against me...”10
In addition, Spell 109 asserts: “I know the northern gate of the sky; its south is in the Lake of
Waterfowl, its north in is the Waters of Geese...”11
In other words, the northern gate’s southern limit is where the heron’s domain begins, which is
probably a reference to the Faiyum, while the northern gate’s northern limit is symbolically
inhabited by geese. The goose is frequently equated with Geb (sometimes written Seb or Keb),
the god of Earth and husband of Nut, who is the personification of the sky. Geb’s chief seat is in
Heliopolis to the north where with his wife he produced the great Egg whence sprang the sun god
in the form of the phoenix.12 “The doors of the sky are opened for me, the doors of the earth are
opened for me, the door-bolts of Geb are opened for me, the shutters of the sky windows are
thrown open for me. It is he who guarded me who releases me, who binds his hand on me and
thrusts his hand on to me on earth, the mouth of the Pelican is thrown open for me, the mouth of
the Pelican is given to me, and I go out into the day to the place where I desire to be.”13
Significantly, the pelican is related to the phoenix in alchemical literature, and both are
associated with the color red. Perhaps it is not coincidence, then, that the Red Crown (Deshret)
comes from Lower Egypt, whereas the White Crown (Hedjet) is from Upper Egypt. The two
lands (i.e., Crowns) were united when King Menes of Hierakonpolis (about forty-five miles
south of Thebes) conquered the Delta circa 3100 B.C.14
As an anthropomorphism of the sky, Geb’s wife Nut is conceptualized as arching face
down over her supine husband, who is sometimes portrayed in an ithyphallic manner. Her fingers
and toes form the horizon, while stars glisten like semen on her dusky belly. Both figures are
positioned in the same direction, though some confusion exists about exactly which direction
they are oriented. Although the couple is sometimes seen with their heads pointing toward the
west, it makes more sense that the torso of Nut would represent the north-south orientation of the
Milky Way/Nile as seen during the pre-dawn and post-dusk periods of the vernal and autumnal
equinoxes. If we accept this positioning, her four outstretched limbs could represent the sunrise
and sunset solstice points on the horizon, while her vagina could signify the northern stargate and
her mouth the southern stargate. In this case, her head would be pointed south (similar to the
Orion Correlation at Giza). Egyptian lore recounts that when the Milky Way hugs the northern
horizon, arching from east to west during the pre-dawn winter solstice, Nut comes down to Earth
to lie with her husband Geb.
In his provocative book Signs In the Sky Adrian Gilbert compares the constellation Orion
with the biblical Jacob and the Milky Way with his ladder (Genesis 28:12).15 Indeed, the Egyptian
“bible” contains similar passages. The psychologist C.G. Jung observes:
“In one of the Pyramid Texts he [viz., Set, brother of Osiris] and Heru-ur (the
‘older Horus’) help Osiris [Orion] to climb up to heaven. The floor of heaven
consists of an iron plate, which in places is so close to the tops of the mountains
that one can climb up to heaven with the help of a ladder. The four corners of the
iron plate rest upon four pillars, corresponding to the four cardinal points. In the
Pyramid Texts of Pepi I, a song of praise is addressed to the ‘ladder of the twin
gods,’ and the Unas text says: ‘Unas cometh forth upon the Ladder which his
father Ra hath made for him, and Horus and Set take the hand of Unas, and they
lead him into the Tuat [or Duat, the Underworld].’”16
This narrative occurred before the two brothers became fierce enemies. Set’s abode was
traditionally in the north 17, so in the context of these “twin gods” we may assume that Horus
belongs to the opposite direction. Continuing the ladder imagery, the Spell for fetching a
ferry-boat in the sky reads in part:
“Hail to you, you plateau which is in the sky north of the Great Waterway
[the Milky Way], for whoever sees it will not die. I stand upon you, I appear as a
god, I have seen you and I will not die. I stand upon you, I appear as a god, I
cackle as a goose [of the north], I fly up as a falcon [of the south] upon the
branches.
“O Dew of the Great One, I cross the earth towards the sky, I stand up as
Shu [god of air, one of the Heliopolitan Ennead], I make sunshine to flourish on
the sides of the ladder which is made to mount up to the Unwearying Stars, far
from decapitation.”18
The heart-rending tone of this pilgrim’s words echoing through the realms of the dead is
readily evident as he/she expresses an ultimate desire for eternal wholeness in bodily form and life everlasting in spirit. Moreover, many passages from The Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead emphasize the paramount role of Orion and his northern stargate in achieving this spiritual goal.
In the Spell for opening the mouth, a ceremony in which Horus uses an adze of meteoric iron to
pry open the deceased mouth, thereby allowing the latter to regain his/her faculties in the Nether
World, we find the following proclamation: “...I am Orion the Great who dwells with the Souls
of Heliopolis.”19 Another spell avers: “I am Orion who treads the land, who precedes the stars of
the sky which are on the body of my mother Nut, who conceived me at her desire and bore me at
her will.”20
Still another spell speaks in the voice of the guardian of the northern stargate: “I am the
guardian, I am his [Osiris’s] heir on earth. Prepare a path for me, O you who are at peace; see, I
enter into the Netherworld, I open up the beautiful West, I make firm the staff of Orion...”21 In the
reproductive sense this staff is the phallus of Orion, whose star-seed is packed with nebulae such
as M-42 and M-43. In a more war-like aspect Orion holds this staff in his right hand and points to
locus where the ecliptic crosses the galactic plane of the Milky Way, the location of the
previously mentioned northern stargate.
Orion’s warrior image is artfully conveyed on the reverse side of a shield-shaped palette
depicting King Narmer (or Menes, as previously mentioned) of the south vanquishing his
northern foes. Wearing the White Crown and holding upraised staff in his right hand ready to
strike, he holds his kneeling enemy with his left hand. Behind him is what has been deemed the
“sandal-bearer,” with a star blazing above her in the exact relationship that Sirius is to Orion. In
front of Narmer is a falcon perched on a fan of six papyrus stalks symbolic of Lower Egypt. This
image indicates that the bird of the southern stargate has conquered the quintessential plant of the
north. The bird also holds a rope in his claws that apparently binds the head of another bearded
captive seen in profile (perhaps Phoenician?). At the bottom of the palette is a pair of figures that
on the celestial plane possibly represents Gemini, although the constellation in the sky is seen
above rather than below Orion.22
The spell of the northern gate’s guardian continues: “...I am the mysterious phoenix, I am
one who goes in that I may rest in the Netherworld, and who ascends peacefully to the sky. I am
the Lord of Celestial Expanses, I travel through the lower sky [i.e., over Lower Egypt] in the train
of Re 23; my offerings in the sky are in the Field of Re; my gifts on earth are in the Field of
Rushes.” 24 In this incantatory longing for peace in the afterlife, the earth-sky duality is
obviously a sine qua non of the Egyptian spiritual cosmology.
As sundry passages from ancient Egyptian texts have shown, the heron/phoenix complex
and its associated deities Osiris and Set are associated with the northern stargate of incarnation,
whereas the falcon and Horus are connected with the southern stargate of ex-carnation. Two
contrasting terms clearly illustrate this dichotomy: chronology and horology. Chronos is the lord
of time in its linear procession-- of time tables and stone tablets; i.e., the Masonic square. More
than one source has identified Chronos (the Greek Kronos or the Roman Saturnus) with the
constellation Orion.25 On the other hand, horology is the measuring of time in its cyclical sense--
the passing of the “hours,” from which both the word “horology” and “Horus” derive; i.e., the
Masonic compass. A “horo-scope” allows one to view the wheel of the zodiac, the group of
twelve archetypal constellations spinning through the solar year, as it affects the individual. On a
much larger scale it permits us to see the influence of the precessional year (equaling 25,920
solar years) as it impacts the rise and fall of civilizations. (e.g., the Age of Taurus, the Age of
Aries, the Age of Pisces, the Age of Aquarius, etc.) Horology has a deeper meaning, however.
According to Jung, “Horos (boundary) is a ‘power’ or numen identical with Christ, or at least
proceeding from him.” Its synonyms are “he who leads across,” “emancipator,” and “redeemer.”26
The Egyptians conceptualized the phoenix --a.k.a. the Bennu bird of the northern
stargate-- as “the patron of reckoning time” and “the soul of Osiris.”27 In essence, he was an agent
of purification by fire in the Netherworld, allowing souls to be reborn on the Earth plane.
Conversely, Horus was perceived as the falcon god who ushered them through the southern
stargate, out of this temporal world and into eternity. Hence, the dual stargates of immanence and
transcendence served as ports along the great sidereal river whereon all souls sail.

18. Y los discípulos de Juan y los de los fariseos ayunaban; y vinieron, y le dijeron: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan y los de los fariseos ayunan, y tus discípulos no ayunan?
19. Jesús les dijo: ¿Acaso pueden los que están de bodas ayunar mientras está con ellos el esposo? Entre tanto que tienen consigo al esposo, no pueden ayunar. (La boda es una referencia a el matrimonio entre el sol y la luna, osea a Jacob=Israel y Raquel, los padres de Jose)
20. Pero vendrán días cuando el esposo les será quitado, y entonces en aquellos días ayunarán.
21. Nadie pone remiendo de paño nuevo en vestido viejo; de otra manera, el mismo remiendo nuevo tira de lo viejo, y se hace peor la rotura.
22. Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera, el vino nuevo rompe los odres, y el vino se derrama, y los odres se pierden; pero el vino nuevo en odres nuevos se ha de echar. ORIÓN
Estrellas principales:
* Betelgeuse: proviene de una expresión árabe que significa "axila del que está en el centro".
* Rigel: de origen árabe, es la "pierna del que está en el centro" ("Rijl Jauzah al Yusra").
* Bellatrix: el significado último de este nombre es "la mujer guerrera". Su origen se halla en una serie de errores de
traducción al y del árabe medieval de una palabra, "al najid", que significa "el conquistador ".
* Saiph: proviene de la expresión árabe "Saif al Jabbar", esto es, "la espada del gigante".
* Mintaka: palabra árabe que significa "cinturón".
* Alnitak: del árabe, significa "faja".
* Alnilam: proviene de árabe, de una expresión que significa "collar de perlas".
Descripción 
Es la constelación más impresionante del Hemisferio Norte y representa de forma muy "evidente" una figura humana con un arco extendido hacia el este, enfrentándose a Tauro. Contiene dos estrellas de primera magnitud, Betelgeuse y Rigel y la famosa nebulosa de Orión en forma de daga que cuelga de tres estrellas en línea recta que conforman el Cinturón de Orión.
La constelación de Orión, gracias al brillo de las estrellas que la componen, ha estado presente en todas las culturas en un lugar de relevancia entre los mitos celestes, aunque no siempre considerando todas las estrellas involucradas actualmente.
La primera noticia que se tiene de ella la sitúa en Mesopotamia: aparece en las tablas de Mul-Apin bajo el nombre de "Siba-zi-an-na", "El verdadero pastor celeste". De una tradición acadia procede el término "Papsukkal", que es el visir de los dioses Anu e Inanna (An e Ishtar en acadio). La forma se correspondería a la actual, con el personaje representado sujetando un bastón o un arco.
En el antiguo Egipto, esta constelación fue de gran importancia, aunque no completa: las tres estrellas del Cinturón de Orión, Alnitak, Alnilam y Mintaka, eran las representantes de Sah, dios estelar que representaba a Osiris. Frecuentemente se ha asociado a esta constelación la propiedad de servir a los arquitectos egipcios como "mapa estelar" por el cual orientar las pirámides del Imperio Antiguo. La mayor parte de estas afirmaciones son fábulas, aunque estudios serios no descartan que esta constelación formara parte de la vida de los egipcios de aquella época de forma muy importante.
En la antigua Grecia, ya Homero nombra a esta constelación con el nombre de Orión. Era un hermoso cazador, hijo de Euríale y Poseidón, de estatura inmensa ("sus hombros sobresalían del mar en las fosas más profundas"), del que se cuentan muchos mitos (bastante inconexos, por cierto). Se habría enamorado de Mérope, y al no ser correspondido se emborrachó un día y la forzó. El padre de Mérope, Enopión, pidió venganza al dios Dionisos, que durmió al cazador en un profundo sueño. Enopión aprovechó esto para arrancarle los ojos. Desesperado y sin vista, Orión se dirigió a un oráculo, quien le dijo que sólo recuperaría la vista caminando sin descanso hacia el Este (que es precisamente la dirección que siguen las constelaciones).
Tras mucho caminar llegó a Lemnos, donde recuperó la visión. Dedicó mucho tiempo a perseguir a Enopión buscando venganza, pero nunca lo alcanzó. Con el tiempo, entró al servicio de Artemisa (Diana, la cazadora), como cazador. Se cuenta de él que era el mejor cazador de su tiempo, y que maravillaba a todos con sus proezas... hasta el punto que la soberbia se adueñó de él. Un día, llegó a decir que ni el más grande y poderoso animal era rival para él. Al acabar la frase, un diminuto escorpión le picó en el pie y lo mató. Artemisa se apiadó de su servidor y pidió a Zeus que lo situara entre las estrellas. Desde entonces, la constelación de Orión se oculta por el oeste cuando la constelación de Scorpius sale por el este.

Alnitak (Dseta Orionis / ζ Ori / 50 Ori) es un sistema estelar situado en la constelación de Orión. Forma parte del llamado Cinturón de Orión junto a Mintaka (δ Orionis) y Alnilam (ε Orionis) y con ellas forma el grupo conocido como «las tres Marías», siendo Alnitak la estrella situada más al sur. Su nombre proviene del árabe النطاق an-niṭāq y significa «el cinturón». Aunque inicialmente se pensaba que se encontraba a unos 1.500 años luz del Sistema Solar, la medida de su paralaje por el satélite Hipparcos dio como resultado una distancia de sólo unos 700 años luz.

Alnitak es un sistema estelar triple, cuyas componentes principales están separadas 2,1 segundos de arco. La estrella principal del sistema, Alnitak A, es a su vez una estrella binaria, carácter recién descubierto en 1998. La componente principal, Alnitak Aa, es una supergigante azul de tipo espectral O9.5Ib y magnitud aparente +1,89, la más brillante en el cielo de este tipo espectral. Alnitak Ab, 2 magnitudes más tenue, es igualmente una estrella de tipo O, aunque de secuencia principal.
Alnitak Aa es una estrella muy caliente con una temperatura efectiva de 29.500 ± 1.000 K, 10.000 veces más luminosa que el Sol en el espectro visible, aunque si se considera la importante cantidad de radiación ultravioleta que emite, su luminosidad es 100.000 mayor que la solar. Su masa se estima en unas 20 masas solares. Alnitak es una fuente de rayos X provenientes del fuerte viento estelar que sopla a casi 2.000 km/s desde su superficie. Con una edad de apenas 6 millones de años, en su núcleo la fusión del hidrógeno ha finalizado y avanza en su evolución para convertirse en una supergigante roja, posteriormente explotar como supernova y, en última instancia, concluir como estrella de neutrones.
Alnitak B es también una estrella masiva de tipo espectral B2III y magnitud +3,72. Completa una vuelta alrededor del par interior cada 1.500 años.

I have recently returned from the Camino de Santiago, a 500 mile pilgrimage from the French Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in North-Western Spain. It is said that the remains of St James, the first Christian martyr, lie in the crypt at the mightily impressive cathedral in Santiago, and ever since the discovery in the 8th century, pilgrims have journeyed here from all parts of Europe. Although it is traditionally a Catholic pilgrimage, nowadays it is walked by those of many faiths and paths, some spiritual seekers, and some who may have no firm spiritual conviction, and yet are drawn to walk the path. I myself took five weeks to walk the route and it was one of the most profound and revelatory adventures of my life, truly a life-changing experience.
I was reasonably well-prepared for the awareness-raising possibilities of a long pilgrimage like this, having done a fair amount walking along sacred paths before. I have, for example, walked a substantial part of the Ridgeway, walked along particular ley line routes in England and explored the alignments around Rennes-le-Chateau in the Languedoc region of France. And for the past four years, I have been co-facilitating (with Anthony Thorley) groups of Alchemical Journey participants in our monthly ritual walks around the different signs of the Glastonbury Zodiac. My primary motivation for walking these routes has been to facilitate a more lucid perception of reality and a deepening of spiritual awareness, and I have experienced many other benefits as well; a greater acceptance of issues and situations in my life, better relationships, and a growing sense of stillness within my being.
Being an astrologer, my initial interest in pilgrimage was sparked by the idea that the routes themselves might in fact be earthly maps that mirror the patterns of the stars and the images of the constellations on the ground. This is made very explicit in both a landscape zodiac and on the Camino. ’Compostela’ means the field of stars, and refers to the Milky Way. Through my wanderings, and my wonderings, I have come to understand pilgrimage as a weaving together of heaven and earth, where each mindful step can be like a stitch in the fabric of creation, woven on the cosmic loom through an interlacing of imagination with my own physical locomotion. On the Camino de Santiago, we are walking from east to west, birth to death, with the Milky Way hanging overhead as a guide. The tradition says that as we tread the path, so we are simultaneously plotting the stars of the Via Lactea on the ground.
The Milky Way was considered by many ancient cultures to be the pathway of the soul, the bridge between heaven and earth, and there are significant constellations that lie along this stellar highway that point to this. Most poignantly Cygnus, the Swan, who in some cultures was seen as the carrier of the soul of the dead into the next life as she flies gracefully along the heavenly tract before she dives into the western horizon. In Norse mythology, for instance, it was the swan maidens that carried the souls of the dead to Valhalla.
I have learned through my own journeying that a pilgrimage is really about learning to die, it is about letting go of control, releasing attachment to the stuff of this world. I would say, too, that to pilgrimage is to realise the extent to which we have become separate from the stars, the stars from which each of us may trace our origins, and the stars to which we will one day return. We have, as a culture, forgotten that our origins and destinies are mapped out for us in the stars, by which I mean pointed to, through the enrichment of the imagination. I generally chose to rise early, well before dawn, and to walk the first couple of hours with the stars overhead to remind me of this profound truth.
