nun ( נ ), guimel ( ג ), hei ( ה ) y shin ( ש )
משיח

Escogeos hoy a quien sirváis.

The Death and Resurrection of Christ

Science encourages us to ask questions.
Religion encourages us to accept answers.
- Stephen Strager

When the curious ask, why do Christians celebrate Christmas and Easter on the same dates as pagans? The standard answer is: The Christian Fathers used the same dates so it would be easier to assimilate pagans into Christianity. Like everything else about Christianity, that answer started out as a lie that after decades of repetition became accepted as truth.

There have been several competent books that catalog the parallels between other resurrected saviors and Jesus Christ, but they have been too easily dismissed by apologists as innuendo. Christianity is the one exception, they say. And what do they offer as evidence? Nothing but stale lies and flat denials!

This report strengthens the argument against them by providing positive evidence that the gospels tell the story of death and resurrection through the changing patterns of the sun and the stars in the zodiac. The early Christians worshipped the sun personified through the character of Jesus Christ. He died on the first of winter's darkest days. His spirit was called the Son of man, personified by the constellation Orion. On the third day, Orion ascended in the guise of the Holy Spirit. Early Christianity was as pagan as its pagan competitors.

But there is more to this story than the seasonal changes of the sun. The gospels tell the story of three great astrological ages spanning 2160 years each. They tell of the end of the Age of Aries, the beginning of the Age of Pisces and of an Age to come, the Age of Aquarius. Revelation 16 prophesizes an Aquarian six day creation culminating in a place called Armageddon.

Anthropological origins of religion

In The Golden Bough: The Roots of Religion and Folklore, James Frazer explains the significance of dying and resurrected gods. I've done some paraphrasing:

While the great invisible gods are not supposed to die, primitive peoples sometimes believe that their safety and even that of the world is bound up with the life of one of these god-men or human incarnations of the divinity. They take utmost care of his life out of regard for their own. But no amount of care and precaution will prevent the man-god from growing old and feeble and at last dying. The danger they saw is that catastrophes might befall them if his powers diminish and die.

The solution, they saw, is that the man-god must be killed as soon as his powers begin to fail. If the man-god dies a natural death, it means that his soul has departed from his body and won't return. If they wait until his body is in a weakened state, it would infect his soul.

Thus the soul of the man-god is lost to his worshippers; and with it their prosperity and very existence is endangered. By killing him before he has lost his vigor, his worshippers would be assured of catching his soul as it escaped and transferring it to a vigorous successor. A violent death was preferred while his soul was strong and vigorous.

It goes without saying, that this man-god was either a divine king or priest. These rituals sometimes extended to the first born of royal blood. 2 Kings 3:27 tells of the king of Moab who when under attack, sacrificed his oldest son as a ransom offering to the avenging demons.

Primitive peoples not only associated their fate with their divine kings, they saw the same issue of life and death in the yearly seasonal changes. Their solution was to invent gods that personified light, vegetation, animals, or whatever they were obsessed about. This gave them a sense of safety via sympathy and ritual.

Ezekiel 8:14 tells of women who were weeping for Tammuz. Tammuz was a god of vegetation in which the annual withering of vegetation was symbolized by his death and captivity in the underworld. And his resurrection was symbolized in the spring when vegetation grew anew.

The Persian god Mithra was closely associated with the sun. Shrines still extant show him slaying the bull (Taurus) which was believed to represent an act of renewal.

To the Egyptians, Orion was Osiris, God of Light. His evil brother Set the God of Darkness killed him. Osiris' wife Isis found his coffin. When she went to get help, Set cut him up into fourteen pieces and scattered them in all directions. She put him back together and breathed into him to protect him from decay. And so Orion rose to the sky.

So not to get too far off topic, there is an abundance of literature on the anthropological origins of religion and the pagan religions we know call myths. All one has to do is one take the interest to look. For one, I recommend Suns of God: Krishna, Buddha and Christ Unveiled by Acharya S.

The Death and Burial of Jesus

Jesus died in the evening hour and yielded up his spirit on the first day of the winter solstice December 22nd.

45Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
50And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. (Matt. 27:45-46, 50)

I reported in Gospel Zodiac that the gospels follow the seasonal changes of the sun from Capricorn in January to Sagittarius in December. This still holds. Once Jesus dies, the gospels segue into Pisces. In biblespeak, three months symbolize the three days Christ was in his tomb - the three winter months are the dark months. This was done to inaugurate the Age of Pisces. See When was Jesus Born.

The Son of man is symbolized by Orion. Astronomically, Orion disappears from the sky in December and actually does ascend above the horizon on December 25th (discussed below).

22As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men,
23and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day." And they were greatly distressed. (Matt. 17:22-23)

Figure 1: Evening darkness on the winter solstice, December 22, 0001

Our cast of characters can be seen in Figure 1 above. The gospels don't stick strictly to the Greek characterizations and they don't always conform to each other. There are three selected as women: Andromeda, Cassiopeia and Cepheus. Andromeda was the daughter of Queen Cassiopeia and King Cepheus. Two are two men: Auriga and Perseus. Auriga the Charioteers looked after the chariots and horses of their rulers or masters. Perseus was a warrior hero.

1. A Roman centurion kept watch over Jesus.

54When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe, and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!" (Matt. 27:54)

The centurion is probably Perseus.

2. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee looked from afar.

55There were also many women there, looking on from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him;
56among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. (Matt. 27:55-56)

Three women would be Andromeda, Cassiopeia and Cepheus. Notice how Perseus stands close to Orion with the women farther away.

3. With permission from Pilate to take Jesus, a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, wrapped Jesus' body in a clean linen shroud.

57When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus.
58He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.
59And Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud,
60and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock; and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
61Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the sepulchre. (Matt. 27:57-61)

Auriga stands closest to Orion. Not shown because it is high to the north, Draco the Serpent has the evil characteristics of Pilate.

4. John adds that Joseph was accompanied by Nicodemus. Nicodemus is described as a member of the Jewish ruling council who showed respect for Jesus (John 3:1-2).

38After this Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave. So he came and took away his body.
39Nicodemus also, who had at first come to him by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds' weight.
40They took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. (John 19:38-40)

For John, two Joseph and Nicodemus are Auriga and Perseus.

December 25

The sun enters its nadir on the winter solstice and because of its position on the ecliptic, doesn't appear to rise until the 25th, three days later when daytime hours start to increase. The birth and resurrection of Christ occur on the same date.

31for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, "The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he will rise." (Mark 9:31)

Resurrection

Figure 2: Orion's yearly trajectory

The astronomical ascension of Orion begins on December 25th and ends May 22nd. There are 62 days from the vernal equinox on March 21st, to May 22nd. That dovetails with the traditional Easter holidays in the new Age of Pisces.

Let's decipher Jesus' prophecy. Refer to Figure 3 below.

64Jesus said to him, "You have said so. But I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven." (Matt. 26:64)

Matthew describes the Milky Way as the clouds of heaven. The Milky Way doesn't show here, but it can be seen faintly in an artist's depiction. It passes between Gemini and Orion and runs through Cassiopeia. Orion, the Son of man, was the esoteric name for the sun's Holy Spirit. In the Age of Pisces, when the sun passes through Taurus into Gemini it crosses the summer solstice. Thus, the Son of man is said to be on the right hand of power. Gemini resembles a bishop's hat and the constellation below Orion, Lepus symbolizes his seat.

That the writers have a menu to choose from, explains the various interpretations. The gospel sequence follows the sun. The sun's exit from Pisces symbolizes the open tomb. The branch of Pisces which crosses the ecliptic and celestial equator suggests a wall with an opening. This junction is where we get words like cross as in crossover and Passover. The phrase "Paschal lamb" gets its name from when the sun passes over the equator into Aries

Figure 3: The sky on March 24, 0001 at 10:00 AM in the morning

Pisces - the women

There are two female constellations in the house of Pisces: Andromeda and Cassiopeia. Andromeda was the daughter of King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia. The third would be Cepheus, though it is described as a king in myth.

1. According to Matthew, it was toward dawn when Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulcher.

1Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre. (Matt. 28:1)

The women are aligned in Pisces with the sun. So when the sun rises, the women go with it.

2. Mark says three women came when the sun had risen.

1And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him.
2And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen. (Mark 16:1-2)

3. Luke names three women.

1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared.
2And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
3but when they went in they did not find the body.
10Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told this to the apostles; (Luke 24:1-3, 10)

4. John says Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early.

1Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. (John 20:1)

5. In 20:3-10, John adds that Peter and another disciple went in the tomb. When they saw he was missing they believed he rose from the dead. The twelve zodiac constellations represent the disciples. Figuratively, Peter is in the tomb. I suspect Aquarius represents Peter.

Aries - Christ has left the tomb

When the gospels use descriptive terms like lightening, white and dazzling apparel, they are describing stars. There are two constellations in the house of Aries of interest to us: Triangulum and Perseus. There is some guessing as to which character they represent.

1. Mathew says an angel descended from heaven and rolled back the stone. His appearance was like lightening and his raiment white as snow. The angel told the women that He has risen.

2And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
3His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.
4And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.
5But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
7Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told you." (Matt. 28:2-7)

In biblespeak, angel means angle. The constellation Triangulum the Triangle symbolizes the angel.

2. Mark says there was one young man sitting on the right side dressed in a white robe.

5And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed.
6And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, he is not here; see the place where they laid him. (Mark 16:5-6)

Perseus stands next to the tomb.

3. Luke says there were two men standing by in dazzling apparel.

4While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel;
5and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? (Luke 24:4-5)

They would be Triangulum and Perseus.

4. John says there were two angels in white.

11But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb;
12and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.
13They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him." (John 20:12-13)

They would be Triangulum and Perseus.

5. When Jesus told Peter he will build his church on "this" rock, the reference is to the crossing point between the sun's ecliptic and the celestial equator at Pisces. In biblespeak, the arc that the sun travels across the sky is supported on two foundations at the two equinoxes. This is what the prefix co in the word covenant implies.

18And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. (Matt. 16:18)

Taurus

Bulls or oxen were used as pulling animals. The bulls are Christ's disciples.

1. Matthew says some of the eleven disciples were doubters.

16Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.
17And when they saw him they worshiped him; but some doubted. (Matt. 28:16)

The arc of the sun's travel across the horizon forms the profile of a mountain. The summit is at the summer solstice.

2. Mark says the eleven did not believe Christ had risen.

12After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country.
13And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.
14
Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they sat at table; and he upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. (Mark 16:12-14)

3. Luke says the eleven did not believe the women.

9and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest.
10Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told this to the apostles;
11but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. (Luke 24:9-11)

4. John says of the twelve disciples, only Thomas doubted (discussed below).

18Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"; and she told them that he had said these things to her.
24Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. (John 20:18)

5. While John says there were twelve disciples, the other three say there were eleven. Why are there eleven? Because the others say Judas killed himself (Mat. 27:5; Acts 1:19).

Gemini

In the Age of Pisces, the sun enters Gemini on the summer solstice. So at its zenith, the sun has authority over heaven and the world and the Son of man is sitting on his throne judging the twelve tribes of Israel. This is where the gospels end.

28Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of man shall sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Matt. 19:28)

1. When Jesus said "I am with you always to the close of the age," it was meant the close of the Age of Pisces.

18And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." (Matt. 28:18)

2. Jesus told his disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

15And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.
16He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16: 15:16)

3. Jesus said, it is written that Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead. Repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations beginning from Jerusalem.

46and said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead,
47and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48You are witnesses of these things.
49And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:46-49)

4. Doubting Thomas is called the Twin. That would be either Castor or Pollux in Gemini.

24Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.
25So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe." (John 20:24)

Three zodiac Ages

The gospels tell the story of three Ages. The first came to an end with Christ's death. The second begins with Christ's resurrection. And the third is in the distant future, Armageddon.

The past Age of Aries

Jesus came to die for man's sins in the Age of Aries.

29The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)

The new Age of Pisces

The ressurected Jesus represents the Piscean sun.

There will be no sign except the sign of Jonah. -The fish that ate Jonah is in Pisces.

4An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah." (Matt. 16:4; Luke 11:29)

John 21:1-14 tells a little story when Jesus appeared to his disciples while they were fishing. They hadn't caught any fish. When he told them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat, they caught a net full of fish without the net breaking.

As to the past, three times Jesus told his disciples to feed his sheep. Meaning, the sun has left Aries.

15When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
16A second time he said to him, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."
17He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep. (John 21:15-17)

The future Age of Aquarius

When Jesus said no one knows the day and hour. As were the days of Noah before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day when Noah entered the ark. The Son of man will come with a great flood. He meant, those days will come when the sun enters the Age of Aquarius.

36"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
37As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,
39and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man. (Matt. 24:36-39)

Peter asks, what about this man? Jesus answers, he is to remain until I come; this disciple was not to die. Who is that man? He is Aquarius, probably to be personified as Peter.

21When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?"
22Jesus said to him, "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!"
23The saying spread abroad among the brethren that this disciple was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but, "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?" (John 21:21-23)

Armageddon - Revelation 16

16And they assembled them at the place which is called in Hebrew Armageddon. (Rev. 16:16)

The sun enters the Age of Aquarius about 2160, but we'll set our picture for the vernal equinox in the year 3000. This is Armageddon.

Figure 4: noon March 21, 3000

Figure 5: Aquarius

I suspect Paul was waiting for the new creation to begin at the dawn of the Age of Pisces.

19For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; (Rom. 8:19)

Regardless, the new creation according to John of Revelation was to begin in the Age of Aquarius. There is a direct parallel to the days of creation in Genesis 1.

In the picture of Aquarius there is a fish at the bottom of the water stream called Pisces Astrinus, the Southern Fish. In ancient mythology the fish is a symbol of salvation in deluge stories, where the fish saves the world by drinking the waters of the flood. The Southern Fish has a very bright star at its mouth (18th brightest) called Formalhaut, meaning "the fish's mouth." Formalhaut is Jonah whom the fish ate. It's the sign of Jonah (Mat. 16:4).

Two thousand years ago Aquarius coincided with the month of February, which from its derivation from februare, means "to cleanse." Similarly, John the Baptist was an Aquarian. And so was Noah.

The first angel poured his bowl on the earth. - The sun rises above earth's horizon into Aquarius at the vernal equinox.

2So the first angel went and poured his bowl on the earth, and foul and evil sores came upon the men who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. (Rev. 16:2)

The second angel poured his bowl into the sea. - Aquarius is surrounded by watery constellation in an area ancients called the Sea.

3The second angel poured his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a dead man, and every living thing died that was in the sea. (Rev. 16:3)

The third angel poured his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of water. - Eridanus the River lies below Aquarius.

4The third angel poured his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of water, and they became blood. (Rev. 16:4)

The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun. -The sun is at its zenith on the fourth angle.

8The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch men with fire; (Rev. 16:8)

The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast. - The beast is Cetus the Sea Monster.

10The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was in darkness; men gnawed their tongues in anguish (Rev. 16:10)

The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates. - The Milky Way is the great river of Eden in Genesis 2:10.

12The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east (Rev. 16:12)

The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air. - The bowl is empty. On the seventh angle the sun went below the vernal equinox. The astrological element for Aquarius is air.

17The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" (Rev. 16:17)

Christian Holidays

The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule."
-H.L. Mencken,

Where do the dates of Christian holidays come from? The answer is bound up in first century astronomy and astrology. Word confusion reigns in Christian jargon. While Christians believe the life of Christ was a real event, it was in fact a story written in allegory of the movements of celestial bodies personified as human events. While modern Christians believe that "heaven" implies a supernatural existence. To ancients, it was the same heaven we see every day. To take one case discussed in detail below, when Christians think of Christ as a person ascending to heaven, what early Christians saw was the constellation Orion ascending.

Sometime during the early history of Christian theology, the astrological roots of Christianity were lost. It might have been before the time of Augustine who famously rejected astrology. Or it maybe it was Augustine himself who recognized that if Christianity held to its astrological roots, it would not survive-we can only guess. Anyway, by studying the heavenly path of Orion, we gain insight to the origins of Christian holidays.

For the first three centuries of Christianity, the only real holiday observance was Easter, and to a lesser extent Pentecost. From the fourth century onward, the calendar grew more complex.

Orion's trajectory

Christianity grew out of pagan beliefs in a sun deity, which explains why Sun-day marks the Christian Sabbath. Christ personifies the sun as it passes around the Zodiac. The sun's spirit is epitomized by the Son of Man and is represented by the Constellation Orion. When the sun dies on the winter solstice, it is reborn three days later on December 25th. Orion begins its ascent on the same day, December 25, with the sun. Orion is located in the house of Taurus, which makes Taurus the heavenly kingdom where Orion sits on his throne (Lepus). Jerusalem is simultaneously a place on earth and the heavenly kingdom in the zodiac. It is the time of righteousness when the sun rises above the equator after the spring equinox.

Figure 1

This diagram gives us a visual reference for explaining the holidays to follow. When the apostles are said to have seen Jesus ascend or descend, it was Orion that they saw.

Orion begins its ascent from the east before sunset on December 25th. It is at its highest point on May 22nd at noon. Then it sets in the west on November 22 before sunset. Orion is not visible when the sun is in Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 24).

In biblespeak, light epitomizes life and goodness, and darkness epitomizes death and evil. It is a time of renewed life when Orion rises with the sun. When the sun crosses the equator (Passover) on the vernal equinox, it has conquered the dark forces. The spring time is the only time of the year when days are longer than the evenings and increasing. This is the time of righteousness, when the sun if free of evil sin. Of note, this is when Mary as epitomized by Virgo, is conceived by the Holy Spirit, nine months before the sun is reborn on December 25.

Gemini is the best time of the year for Orion and the sun. Gemini straddles the solstice on June 22 and Orion's zenith on May 21. Once the sun passes the summer solstice on June 22, both Orion and the sun lose strength to the dark forces. When the sun enters Sagittarius on November 22, Orion disappears into the underworld, not to reappear until December 25 with the sun.

The astronomical significance of December 25 is that it is three days after the solstice when the days start to lengthen. As ancient Christians would see it, it was the time when the spirit entered Christ.

NISSAN=30 DIAS
ISHAR=29 DIAS
SIVAN=30 DIAS
THAMUS=29 DIAS
AV=30 DIAS
ELUL=29 DIAS
TISHRI=30 DIAS
OCTAVO MES HEBREO=29 DIAS

H1129

בָּנָה baná; raíz prim.; construir (lit y fig.):-albañil, canterón, poner cimientos, construir, edificador, edificar, edificio, fabricar, fortificar, hacer, tener hijo, labrar, levantar, maestro, obra, poner, properar, reedificar, reparar, restablecer, restaurar.

"Yo he puesto mi rey sobre Sión, mi santo monte.

[3> Strong H1129 בָּנָה baná raíz primaria; construir (lit. y figurativamente): Albañil, poner cimientos, construir, fortificar, tener hijo, labrar, levantar, maestro, prosperar, reedificar, reparar, restablecer, restaurar.

On What Day Was Jesus Born?

While much of the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ on the 25th of December, can the actual day of Jesus' birth be determined from scripture? This question will be explored in some detail, and will yield a result that is quite intriguing. The first passage we will consider begins with the father of John the Baptist, Zacharias:

Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

Luke 1:8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course, ...

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, ...

The clue given to us here is that Zacharias was of the "course" of Abia.

The 24 Courses of the Temple Priesthood.

7. But David, being desirous of ordaining his son king of all the people, called together their rulers to Jerusalem, with the priests and the Levites; and having first numbered the Levites, he found them to be thirty-eight thousand, from thirty years old to fifty; out of which he appointed twenty-three thousand to take care of the building of the temple, and out of the same, six thousand to be judges of the people and scribes, four thousand for porters to the house of God, and as many for singers, to sing to the instruments which David had prepared, as we have said already. He divided them also into courses: and when he had separated the priests from them, he found of these priests twenty-four courses, sixteen of the house of Eleazar, and eight of that of Ithamar; and he ordained that one course should minister to God eight days, from sabbath to sabbath. And thus were the courses distributed by lot, in the presence of David, and Zadok and Abiathar the high priests, and of all the rulers; and that course which came up first was written down as the first, and accordingly the second, and so on to the twenty-fourth; and this partition hath remained to this day.  Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book 7, Chapter 14, Paragraph 7.

King David on God's instructions (1 Chr 28:11-13) had divided the sons of Aaron into 24 groups (1 Chr 24:1-4), to setup a schedule by which the Temple of the Lord could be staffed with priests all year round in an orderly manner. After the 24 groups of priests were established, lots were drawn to determine the sequence in which each group would serve in the Temple. (1 Chr 24: 7-19). That sequence is as follows:

1 Chr 24:7 1. Jehoiarib 2. Jedaiah
1 Chr 24:8 3. Harim 4. Seorim

1 Chr 24:19 These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.

Now each one of the 24 "courses" of priests would begin and end their service in the Temple on the Sabbath, a tour of duty being for one week (2 Chr 23:8, 1 Chr 9:25). On three occasions during the year, all the men of Israel were required to travel to Jerusalem for festivals of the Lord, so on those occasions all the priests would be needed in the Temple to accommodate the crowds. Those three festivals were Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, and Tabernacles (Deut 16:16).

The Yearly Cycle of Service in the Temple.

The Jewish calendar begins in the spring, during the month of Nisan, so the first "course" of priests, would be that of the family of Jehoiarib, who would serve for one week, Sabbath to Sabbath. The second week would then be the responsibility of the family of Jedaiah. The third week would be the feast of Unleavened Bread, and all priests would be present for service. Then the schedule would resume with the third course of priests, the family of Harim. By this plan, when the 24th course was completed, the general cycle of courses would repeat. This schedule would cover 51 weeks or 357 days, enough for the lunar Jewish calendar (about 354 days). So, in a period of a year, each group of priests would serve in the Temple twice on their scheduled course, in addition to the 3 major festivals, for a total of about five weeks of duty.

The Conception of John the Baptist.

Now back to Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist.

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, ...

Beginning with the first month, Nisan, in the spring (March-April), the schedule of the priest's courses would result with Zacharias serving during the 10th week of the year. This is because he was a member of the course of Abia (Abijah), the 8th course, and both the Feast of Unleavened Bread (15-21 Nisan) and Pentecost (6 Sivan) would have occurred before his scheduled duty. This places Zacharias' administration in the Temple as beginning on the second Sabbath of the third month, Sivan (May-June).

Having completed his Temple service on the third Sabbath of Sivan, Zacharias returned home and soon conceived his son John. So John the Baptist was probably conceived shortly after the third Sabbath of the month of Sivan.

The Conception of Jesus Christ.

Now the reason that the information about John is important, is because according to Luke, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the sixth month of Elisabeth's pregnancy:

Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
Luke 1:25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
Luke 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

Note that verse 26 above refers to the sixth month of Elisabeth's pregnancy, not Elul, the sixth month of the Hebrew calendar, and this is made plain by the context of verse 24 and again in verse 36:

Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Mary stayed with Elizabeth for the last 3 months of her pregnancy, until the time that John was born.

Luke 1:56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
Luke 1:57 Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.

Now working from the information about John's conception late in the third month, Sivan, and advancing six months, we arrive late in the 9th month of Kislev (Nov-Dec) for the time frame for the conception of Jesus. It is notable here that the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated on the 25th day of Kislev, and Jesus is called the light of the world (John 8:12, 9:5, 12:46). This does not appear to be a mere coincidence. In the book of John, Hanukkah is called the feast of dedication (John 10:22). Hanukkah is an eight day festival of rejoicing, celebrating deliverance from enemies by the relighting of the menorah in the rededicated Temple, which according to the story, stayed lit miraculously for eight days on only one day's supply of oil.

The Birth of John the Baptist.

Based on a conception shortly after the third Sabbath of the month of Sivan, projecting forward an average term of about 10 lunar months (40 weeks), we arrive in the month of Nisan. It would appear that John the Baptist may have been born in the middle of the month, which would coincide with Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It is interesting to note, that even today, it is customary for the Jews to set out a special goblet of wine during the Passover Seder meal, in anticipation of the arrival of Elijah that week, which is based on the prophecy of Malachi:

Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Jesus identified John as the "Elijah" that the Jews had expected:

Mat 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
Mat 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
Mat 17:12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
Mat 17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

The angel that appeared to Zacharias in the temple also indicated that John would be the expected "Elias":

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

So then, the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th day of the 1st month, Nisan, and this is a likely date for the birth of John the Baptist, the expected "Elijah".

The Birth of Jesus Christ.

Since Jesus was conceived six months after John the Baptist, and we have established a likely date for John's birth, we need only move six months farther down the Jewish calendar to arrive at a likely date for the birth of Jesus. From the 15th day of the 1st month, Nisan, we go to the 15th day of the 7th month, Tishri. And what do we find on that date? It is the festival of Tabernacles! The 15th day of Tishri begins the third and last festival of the year to which all the men of Israel were to gather in Jerusalem for Temple services. (Lev 23:34)

Immanuel.

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Immanuel means "God with us". The Son of God had come to dwell with, or tabernacle on earth with His people.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), occurs five days after the Day of Atonement, and is a festival of rejoicing and celebration of deliverance from slavery in Egypt (Leviticus 23:42-43).

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luke 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Why was there no room at the inn? Bethlehem is only about 5 miles from Jerusalem, and all the men of Israel had come to attend the festival of Tabernacles as required by the law of Moses. Every room for miles around Jerusalem would have been already taken by pilgrims, so all that Mary and Joseph could find for shelter was a stable. During Tabernacles, everyone was to live in temporary booths (Sukkot), as a memorial to Israel's pilgrimage out of Egypt - Lev. 23:42-43. The birth of the Savior, in what amounted to a temporary dwelling rather than a house, signaled the coming deliverance of God's people from slavery to sin, and their departing for the promised land, which is symbolized by Tabernacles.

Also of note is the fact that the Feast of Tabernacles is an eight day feast (Lev 23:36, 39). Why eight days? It may be because an infant was dedicated to God by performing circumcision on the eighth day after birth:

Luke 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

So the infant Jesus would have been circumcised on the eighth and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, a Sabbath day. The Jews today consider this a separate festival from Tabernacles, and they call it Shemini Atzeret.

The Baptism of Jesus

There is another indication in scripture as to when Jesus was born.

Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Jesus said this after His baptism, upon emerging from 40 days in the wilderness, when He began His preaching ministry. The book of Daniel gives us the "time" or prophesy Jesus was speaking about.

Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, ...

The 70th week of Daniel, a period of 7 literal years, began with "Messiah the Prince". Messiah means anointed, and Jesus was publically anointed by the Holy Spirit at His baptism. Daniel 9:26-27 tells us that the Messiah would be "cut off" (crucified) in the "midst of the week", which is to say the Messiah would be crucified 3 1/2 years after His baptism. It is very likely that by understanding this prophecy the wise men knew when to look for the Christ child.

Luke 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
Luke 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, ...

Luke hints that at His baptism Jesus became about thirty, so it was likely that His birthday coincided, more or less, with His baptism. This agrees with the time of Tabernacles, and 3 years and 6 months later at Passover, Jesus was crucified exactly and precisely as Daniel had prophesied.

Conclusion

So, if you have followed the above reasoning, based on the scriptural evidence, a case can apparently be made that Jesus Christ was born on the 15th day of the month of Tishri, on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which corresponds to the September - October timeframe of our present calendar!

Tabernacles Future Fulfillment

It is also interesting to note that Tabernacles was a feast of ingathering of the Harvest (Exo 23:16 and 34:22). If Jesus' first coming was indeed on 15 Tishri, the first day of Tabernacles, then it is quite reasonable to presume that the harvest of this earth, the ingathering of the second coming of Jesus Christ, will also occur on precisely the same date. The unknown factor would be the year that this would happen.

1- NISAN                                                                 MARZO-ABRIL
2-LYAR                                                                   ABRIL-MAYO

4-TAMMUZ                                                            JUNIO-JULIO

11-SHEVAT                                                            ENERO-FEBRERO
12-ADAR                                                                 FEBRERO-MARZO

The Messiah of Israel Born on the Feast of Trumpets on September 11th in 3 B.C.

© Copyright Double Portion Inheritance
September 2002
by Maria Merola

Revelation 12:

1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered…

5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto Elohim, and to his throne.

Ushering In the King with the Tekiah

On the Feast of Trumpets, there are 4 Trumpet Blasts (Tekiah, Shevarim, Teruah, Tekiah Gedolah). One of these sounds is called TEKIAH.   It is a pure unbroken sound that calls man to search his heart, forsake his wrong ways, and seek forgiveness through repentance. This is the sound that is used to usher in the King when he is corronated. It is fitting that Messiah would be born on this day, since YaHuWaH was announcing his son into the world as the Melek Tzadik (King of Righteousness). Dr. Ernest L. Martin cites the many discoveries that reveal the exact date when our Messiah was ushered into the world.

The entire book can be downloaded for free at the link below:

The video below gives an illustration of the planetary alignment that took place that night when Messiah was born:

How can we know for sure that Yahu'shua (Jesus) was born on September 11th in 3 B.C. on “Yom Teruah?” In his book entitled “The Star That Astonished the World,”   Dr. Ernest L. Martin shows that the planetary alignment which occurred that year when Yahu'shua was born was from the prophecy in Revelation 12.

On no other day except on September 11th in 3 B.C. do we see this planetary alignment taking place. On this day and never before this date nor ever again after, has this constellation been seen. It was “Virgo” the virgin” or “Bethulah” (in Hebrew), and she had 12 stars around her head (for the twelve tribes of Israel), and the moon was under her feet. The sun was “mid- body” and so she was “clothed with the sun” and she was giving birth to “Ariel” the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. This happened at no other time in history except on this date.

The Bride of Messiah will follow the same pattern as him. Just as he was born on Yom Teruah, so the bride will be “reborn” with her new incorruptible body as she is “caught up” to meet him in the air at the sound of the “last trumpet.”

Why Messiah Was Not Born on The Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot

At his baptism (on the 1st of Elul), he was not quite 30 yet as Luke's gospel declares:

Luke 3:23 And Yahu'shua (Jesus) himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.

The term “began to be about thirty” tells us that he was not quite 30 years old yet. His 30th birthday was fast approaching, and so we know that he was going to turn 30 during one of these fall feasts, either on Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur or Sukkot. But since the Tekiah (trumpet blast on Teruah) is for the “Ushering in of the King,” it makes more sense prophetically that YaHuWaH was ushering in his son, the Melek Tzadik (King of Righteousness) on Yom Teruah. He also dwelled in the Sukkah (manger) as a new born with his parents during the 8 days of Sukkot. The announcement of his birth was 1st of Tishri, then on the 2nd of Tishri he was actually born and then on the 10th of Tishri, (Yom Kippur) which was the 8th day from his birth, he was circumcised. The “covering” of the heart is the foreskin, and when it is removed, it is called “FACE TO FACE.”  This is when the High Priest in the temple would go behind the veil to the Holy of Holies and sprinkle the blood of the lamb on the mercy seat once a year on Yom Kippur. This would bring him “face to face” with YaHuWaH as he interceded for Israel.

The bride of Messiah will also have the “veil” removed from her eyes and she will see him face to face (Zechariah 12:10). The foreskin being removed from our hearts is when we are able to “see him” face to face (the veil to our eyes, and our hearts removed). So it is prophetically fitting that he would be circumcised on Yom Kippur. The foreskin is like the “veil” to our hearts. We are commanded to “circumcise the foreskin of our hearts” (Deuteronomy 10:16, Jeremiah 4:4). Five days later is when Messiah “dwelled” in a “tabernacle” or sukkah (manger) with his parents for 8 days.

Another Reason Why the Feast of Tabernacles Does Not Work

Another reason why it does not seem plausible for the birth of Messiah is that according to Luke’s Gospel, Joseph and Mary had to travel to Bethlehem to be taxed. While they were there, Mary gave birth to Yahu’shua Messiah:

Luke 2:

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

*Note: this is very important because there are three Pilgrimage Feasts that every Israelite man must travel to Jerusalem and keep. According to Deuteronomy 16:16, they are: Passover (Pesach),Pentecost (Shavuot or Feast of Weeks), and the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot).

But since Jerusalem is 6 miles away from Bethlehem, we know that Joseph and Mary could not have been in Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles when Messiah was born. Had he been born on the Feast of Tabernacles, he would’ve been born in Jerusalem six miles away (not in Bethlehem). Joseph had to appear before YaHuWaH in the Temple in Jerusalem and bring an offering on the Feast of Tabernacles according to Exodus 23:19-20. But if Joseph was in Bethlehem 6 miles away helping his wife give birth in a Sukkah, how then could go to Jerusalem to make on offering for the Feast of Tabernacles? You see, he could not be in both places at once, and Joseph would not have left Mary/Miriam there alone giving birth while he went to Jerusalem to offer sacrifices in the temple.

The shepherds were also told to go to Bethlehem to see the child, but they were not told to go to Jerusalem. If this was the Feast of Tabernacles, the Angel of YaHuWaH would’ve told them to go to Jerusalem to keep the Feast in Jerusalem (not to Bethlehem).

Luke 2

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which YHWH has made known unto us.

16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Actually, there is clear proof that Yahu'shua could not have been born at any of the three pilgrimage feasts of Passover, Pentecost or Tabernacles. These were times when all Israelite men were required by biblical law to be in Jerusalem (Deuteronomy 16:6, 11, 16). Yet Luke tells us that during the time of Messiah’s nativity “everyone went into his own city” (Luke 2:3). Besides, the Romans would not have selected the three primary festival seasons for a census when most of the Jews in Palestine were required to be in Jerusalem.

The reason there was no room at the inn was not because the people were crowding into the Jerusalem area for ceremonial purposes, but, as Luke tells us, they were there to be registered for the census.

According to the Torah commandment in Leviticus 12, Mary had fulfilled her 40 days of purification following the birth of a male child and then they brought the child to Jerusalem to be dedicated to YaHuWaH. If he had been born in Jerusalem during the Feast of Tabernacles, they would not have had to travel there following her days of purification because she would’ve already been there for his birth and for the remaining 40 days afterwards.

Luke 2:22 And when the days of her purification according to the Law of Moses were accomplished,they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to YHWH;

According to the Torah, a woman is considered unclean for 7 days following the birth of a male child. But she is considered unclean for 14 days following the birth of a female child:

Leviticus 12:

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.

3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

What this means is that she had to remain separated for seven days following the birth of Messiah. This means that she could not celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with Joseph in a Sukkah (manger) because this would render his celebration of this Holy Feast as unclean. Also, during the Ten Days of Awe, Israelites would fast and pray leading up to Yom Kippur to cleanse and purify themselves. Mary had seven days of being unclean and then the male child would be circumcised.  It is fitting that Mary was “unclean” during the seven days of the “Ten Days of Awe” but by Yom Kippur she was clean before YaHuWaH. She would not be allowed into the Sanctuary for 33 more days, but she could at least be in the Outer Court of the Temple for Yom Kippur to observe the circumcision of her baby boy.

Leviticus 12

4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

Why was there no room in the Inn?

Because even though the Feast of Tabernacles was the only “Pilgrimage Feast” out of the Three Fall Feasts, many people were traveling and and coming to stay in the surrounding cities of Jerusalem early in order to observe all three of the Fall Feasts. And as I stated previously it was because of the Census also, that everyone returned to their home town, so that the Inn's were booked up.

Messiah fulfilled an intermediate fulfillment of all three Fall Feasts at his first coming:

1.) Announcement: Yom Teruah, ushering in the King.

2.) Circumcision: Yom Kippur, removal of the veil (foreskin) called face to face.
3.) Dwelling with us: Feast of Tabernacles; Sukkot; Dwelt with us in a corruptible body.

Messiah will fulfill all three Fall Feasts at his second coming:

1.) Husband Ushering in the Bride: Yom Teruah
2.) Husband removes veil from the bride's face: Yom Kippur
3.) Husband consummates the marriage with the 4th cup: Sukkot; Dwells with bride for 1,000 years of Sabbath rest.

In this study, I am going to be using the research of several different sources in order to narrow it down to precisely when Yahu'shua was born. I first want to show the evidence from scripture that absolutely proves that Yahu'shua was NOT BORN ON DECEMBER 25TH, and it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. The website below by Michael Schiefler shows the time line charts for the schedule of the Priesthood set up by King David in 2nd Chronicles 24. It is very easy to determine the date of when our Messiah was born simply by knowing that John the Baptist's Father (Zechariah) was a priest in the Temple of the division of Abijah (Luke 1:5). This helps us narrow down the birth of Yahu'shua to around sometime in September.

After we rule out a December 25th birth for Yahu'shua using the scriptures presented by Michael Schiefler, I will then follow with Dr. Ernest L. Martin's Astronomical research and then finally Roy Reinhold's Bible Code Matrix research which absolutely narrows it down to The Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) September 11th in 3 B.C.

Judging from all the evidence and research that I will present here, I believe that we can actually show that Yahu'shua Messiah fulfilled all three of the Fall Feasts at his birth as follows:

1.) The Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah): Day of Birth:

*Note: I believe that the announcement came on September 11th, with the Constellation appearing in the sky that night, and Mary/Miriam began going into labor that night, but that his birth may have actually taken place the next day on September 12th since the Feast of Trumpets is a 2-day feast, and this would have left only 8 days until Yom Kippur when he would've been circumcised.

2.) Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): Circumcision

3.) Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot): Dwelled in a Manger/Sukkah with his parents

What follows is an article by Michael Schiefler who believes the birth of Yahu'shua to be on the Feast of Tabernacles rather than the Feast of Trumpets. The Feast of Tabernacles is 15 days AFTER the Feast of Trumpets each year. Michael Schiefler's calculations are an "approximation" of the time of year that Yahu'shua was born during one of the Fall Feasts of YaHuWaH in September. His calculations are based on an undetermined "gestation period" which could set the date anywhere within a "window" of about 15 days between the Feast of Trumpets & the Feast of Tabernacles.

Michael Schiefler's research is being used here only for the purpose of showing the biblical evidence of the approximate time of year that the Angel Gabriel visited John the Baptist's Father, Zechariah and this helps us to know when John the Baptist was born. From there, we can count 6 months (180 days forward) to find out exactly when Yahu'shua is born. I am also using these charts below to show the time of year when Gabriel visited Miriam/Mary (the mother of Yahu'shua) to announce that she would conceive.

On What Day Was Jesus Born?
by Michael Shiefler

While much of the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ on the 25th of December, can the actual day of Jesus' birth be determined from scripture? This question will be explored in some detail, and will yield a result that is quite intriguing. The first passage we will consider begins with the father of John the Baptist, Zacharias:

Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

Luke 1:8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before Elohim in the order of his course, ...

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived....

The clue given to us here is that Zacharias was of the "course" of Abia.

The 24 Courses of the Temple Priesthood

King David on Elohim's instructions (1 Chr 28:11-13) had divided the sons of Aaron into 24 groups (1 Chr 24:1-4), to setup a schedule by which the Temple of YHWH could be staffed with priests all year round in an orderly manner. After the 24 groups of priests were established, lots were drawn to determine the sequence in which each group would serve in the Temple. (1 Chr 24: 7-19). That sequence is as follows:

The Division of the Priesthood

1 Chr 24:7 1. Jehoiarib 2. Jedaiah
1 Chr 24:8 3. Harim 4. Seorim
1 Chr 24:9 5. Malchijah 6. Mijamin
1 Chr 24:10 7. Hakkoz 8. Abijah
1 Chr 24:11 9. Jeshuah 10. Shecaniah
1 Chr 24:12 11. Eliashib 12. Jakim
1 Chr 24:13 13. Huppah 14. Jeshebeab
1 Chr 24:14 15. Bilgah 16. Immer
1 Chr 24:15 17. Hezir 18. Aphses
1 Chr 24:16 19. Pethahiah 20. Jehezekel
1 Chr 24:17 21. Jachim 22. Gamul
1 Chr 24:18 23. Delaiah 24. Maaziah

1st Chronicles 24:19 These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of YHWH, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as YHWH Elohim of Israel had commanded him.

The Yearly Cycle of Service in the Temple

The Jewish calendar begins in the spring, during the month of Nisan, so the first "course" of priests, would be that of the family of Jehoiarib, who would serve for seven days.

The Conception of John the Baptist

Now back to Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist.

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived...

The Conception of Yahu'shua Messiah

Now the reason that the information about John is important, is because according to Luke, Yahu'shua was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the sixth month of Elisabeth's pregnancy:

Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

Luke 1:25 Thus hath YHWH dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from Elohim unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

Luke 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

* Note that verse 26 above refers to the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, not Elul, the sixth month of the Hebrew calendar, and this is made plain by the context of verse 24 and again in verse 36:

Hanukkah is an eight day festival, celebrating the relighting of the menorah in the rededicated Temple, which according to the story, stayed lit miraculously for eight days on only one day's supply of oil.

The Birth of John the Baptist

Based on a conception shortly after the third Sabbath of the month of Sivan, projecting forward an average term of about 10 lunar months (40 weeks), we arrive in the month of Nisan. It would appear that John the Baptist may have been born in the middle of the month, which would coincide with Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It is interesting to note, that even today, it is customary for the Jews to set out a special goblet of wine during the Passover Seder meal, in anticipation of the arrival of Elijah that week, which is based on the prophecy of Malachi:

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of YHWH:

Yahu'shua identified John as the "Elijah" that the Jews had expected:

Matthew 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come?

Matthew 17:11 And Yahu'shua answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things.

Matthew 17:12 But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

Matthew 17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

The angel that appeared to Zacharias in the temple also indicated that John would be the expected "Elijah":

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for YHWH.

So then, the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th day of the 1st month, Nisan, and this is a likely date for the birth of John the Baptist, the expected "Elijah."

The Birth of Yahu'shua Messiah

Since Yahu'shua was conceived six months after John the Baptist, and we have established a likely date for John's birth, we need only move six months farther down the Jewish calender to arrive at a likely date for the birth of Jesus. (Lev 23:34)

Immanuel

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore YHWH himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Immanuel means "God with us." The Son of God had come to dwell with, or tabernacle on earth with His people.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The word in the Hebrew for dwelt is succah and the name of the Feast of Tabernacles in Hebrew is Sukkot, a festival of rejoicing and celebration:

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Luke 2:9 And, lo, the angel of YHWH came upon them, and the glory of YHWH shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Messiah YHWH.

Also of note is the fact that the Feast of Tabernacles is an eight day feast (Lev 23:36, 39). Why eight days? It may be because an infant was dedicated to God by performing circumcision on the eighth day after birth:

Luke 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called YaHuWShuWA, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

So the infant Yahu'shua would have been circumcised on the eighth and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, a Sabbath day. The Jews today consider this a separate festival from Tabernacles, and they call it Shemini Atzeret.

Conclusion

So, if you have followed the above reasoning, based on the scriptural evidence, a case can apparently be made that Yahu'shua Messiah was born on the 15th day of the month of Tishri, on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which corresponds to the September - October time-frame of our present calendar!

Tabernacles Future Fulfillment

It is also interesting to note the Tabernacles was a feast of ingathering of the Harvest (Exo 23:16 and 34:22). If Yahu'shua's first coming was indeed on 15 Tishri, the first day of Tabernacles, then it is quite reasonable to presume that the harvest of this earth, the ingathering of the second coming of Yahu'shua Messiah, will also occur on precisely the same date. The unknown factor would be the year that this would happen.

*Michael Schiefler's article ends here, and Maria Merola's article begins again:

Narrowing His Birth Down to the Exact Day

While the research above seems to indicate that Yahu'shua was born on the Feast of Tabernacles, we must also take into account the number of days that is being used to count the gestation period.

On this website, called Associates for Scriptural Knowledge, Dr. Ernest L. Martin, Ph.D. answers the famous question about why dates do matter when it comes to celebrating the birth and resurrection of Yahu'shua Messiah.

The entire book can be downloaded free online and the radio interviews and lectures are also available here:

Another website that agrees with the birth of Messiah being on September 11th in 3 B.C. can be found here:

The Entire Study can be downloaded here:

Dr. Ernest Martin shows us that the constellation of Virgo (Bethulah in Hebrew) and Ariel the Lion of Judah was also seen as a sign in the heavens according to Revelation 12 and that this was seen precisely on September 11th in 3 B.C. which fell on the 1st of Tishri on the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah). However, many Messianic Jews celebrate his birth on the Feast of Tabernacles which came 15 days later. There are many biblical reasons why Messianic Jews celebrate his birth on the Feast of Tabernacles as I showed above with Michael Schiefler's research.

Some Messianics purport that the constellation appeared two weeks early to prepare the shepherds and wise men, but the actual birth of Yahu'shua took place on the Feast of Tabernacles 15 days later. Michael Rood, a well known Messianic Prophecy teacher (whom I greatly admire) teaches that his birth took place on September 26th in 3 B.C. on Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) because the word “sukkah” means “manger” or “stable” and Yahu'shua came to “tabernacle among us” according to John chapter 1, “the word became flesh and "tabernacled" (dwelled) among us.” The Feast of Tabernacles is an eight day long feast, and a new born boy is circumcised on the 8th day from his birth.
