The belt stars correspond to Third, Second, and First Mesas. The distance between Betatakin and Canyon de Chelly is stretched about 12 miles in relation to the constellation; the distance between Walnut Canyon and Homolovi is stretched about 10 miles--not bad, considering it's over 110 miles between Betatakin in the north and Homolovi in the south.

The red dot at the center of the Flower of Life is called the Tuuwanasavi, literally "sand-middle." It is is conceptualized as the Center-place,
the spiritual heart of the Hopi cosmos. This sandy plain is actually located about 4 miles south-southwest of the village of Oraibi on Third Mesa.
In the ancient Egyptian cosmogony, a similar spot corresponds to the Primordial Mound rising from the Ocean of Creation, where the temple at Heliopolis was later constructed. This axis mundi housed the conically shaped, meteoric benben stone, upon which the Bennu bird (phoenix) perched. The inner rectangle (above) is comprised of four loci: (1) Betatakin / Keet Seel (Navajo National Monument), (2) Canyon de Chelly National Monument (which jointly form the base of the Orion projection on the Arizona desert and run along the northeastern escarpment of Black Mesa), (3) Sunset Crater National Monument (a volcano that erupted in 1064 AD), and (4) a point about 18 miles south of Homolovi Ruins State Park, which is located on the right arm of the terrestrial Orion as it reaches southward toward the ancient Hohokam territory in the Phoenix Basin. It's too bad that the Flower of Life doesn't pass through Las Vegas, as it would likely improve the luck of those taking advantage of Vegas vacation packages!

Sirius, the brightest star in the heavens, corresponds to Chaco Canyon, the largest Ancestral Puebloan ruin site in the American Southwest.
Gary David's books contend that the Chichimecs (literally "Sons of the Dog") lived in Chaco Canyon and perhaps constructed the pueblos there,
before they migrated southward in the 13th century AD to become the Aztecs in the Valley of Mexico.

About 45 miles south of Ajo, Arizona, on the U.S.-Mexico border is Vertex 17 of the Becker-Hagens "Earthstar" Planetary Grid System.
This grid point is one of 62 major vertices of the mercator-based hexakis icosahedron projected on the Earth globe. With 120 faces, 180 edges,
and 62 vertices, the hexakis icosahedron can be conceptualized as a giant earth-crystal. Coordinates for Cerro Cubabi: 31.72° N, 112°.80W.
Two great circles enclose the Arizona Orion Correlation: an orange “Yang” great circle and a lime-green “Balance” great circle.
This respectively represents Orion's characteristic male, or yang, energy and the Hopi ceremonial cycle that functions to keep the Earth in balance.

This Golden Mean spiral starts at the Throat chakra located at Grand Falls, arcs through the San Francisco Peaks (home of the kachinas, or katsinam), sweeps by the Hopi villages of Oraibi, Shungopovi, and Walpi (the Belt), intersects Orion's right hand, circles into the Hyades horns, and passes through Gamma Tauri.

This Golden Mean spiral starts at the Sipapuni (Hopi "Place of Emergence"), arcs through Oraibi (oldest continuously inhabited community on the continent, settled c. A.D. 1100), swings through the Third Eye chakra of Orion at Walnut Canyon, then continues its sweep through the middle of the horns of Taurus.

The Arizona Orion Correlation's upper part is oriented southwest. The left arm extends from Bellatrix/Wupatki Ruin toward Grand Canyon. It passes Hopi Point on the South Rim, and terminates within the canyon near a butte named Osiris Temple. It celestially corresponds to Pi 3 Orionis.
The Sipapuni (Sípàapuni), or Hopi "Place of Emergence," is a travertine (limestone) dome located on the north bank of the Little Colorado River.
Specifically, it corresponds to Pi 5 Orionis. However, the possible exoplanet status of Pi 3 Orionis and the wormhole nature of the Sipapuni
jointly represent the general function of Grand Canyon in Hopi cosmology. The Hopi perhaps see the Sipapuni as the most sacred spot on Earth.

Looking towrd the southeast, we see the location of the ancestral Hopi ruin site of Wupatki National Monument (corresponding to Bellatrix,
left shoulder of the Ari-zona Orion Correlation). The San Francisco Peaks, home of the Hopi kachinas from July until December, are a few miles
to the south. The Hopi Mesas are over 50 miles northeast of Wupatki. The Sipapuni is located on the Little Colorado River 3.5 miles upstream
from its confluence with the Colorado River. Osiris Temple (corresponding to Pi 3 Orionis) is downstream on the north bank of the Colorado River.
The ancient Egyptians associated Osiris with Orion. Today some people believe that a "Lost City of the Dead," was once located in Grand Canyon. It was reputedly found in 1909 by G.E. Kincaid on an expedition for the Smithsonian Institution. He described it as being filled with ancient Egyptian artifacts, mummies, and hieroglyphics as well as some Asian artifacts. Other people believe the complex is still there, waiting to be rediscovered.

The Zulu sangoma (shaman) Credo Mutwa states that creatures from a certain star in Orion built an ancient subterranean city of copper in the Rwenzori Mts. ("Mountains of the Moon"), located on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Great Zimbabwe in southern Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) is 320 miles south of the Zambezi River, 1270 – 1550 AD, population c. 18,000. At this eponymous site the roofless oval structure of the "Great Enclosure" is 800 ft long. Its mortar-less granite walls are 30 ft. high and 20 ft. thick at the base. Small monoliths on top of the eastern arc of the Great Enclosure align with three stars in the constellation Orion: Bellatrix, Alnilam, and Saiph shortly before sunrise on winter solstice.

This possible Orion Correlation is located in the Mexican states of Tabasco and Chiapas. Tortuguero corresponds to Alnitak. (The Great Pyramid at Giza and Hopi First Mesa in Arizona also mirror this belt star.) Chilapa corresponds to Alnilam (the middle belt star), and Tepetitán corresponds to Mintaka. Comalcalco corresponds to Betelgeuse, but perhaps only symbolically so. This Maya city that burgeoned between 700 and 900 AD is unique because its pyramids are constructed of kiln-fired bricks. Moreover, many of the mud bricks had been inscribed with Mayan glyphs, but over 500 of them contain various foreign scripts, such as Phoenician, Egyptian, Libyan, Tifinagh, Chinese, Burmese, and even Ogam.
Jmetic Lubton, which corresponds to Saiph, was a ceremonial city with a carved sculpture of what in Tzotzil means “Our Mother Tired Rock.” The famous Maya site of Palenque corresponds to Rigel. However, even if that apex of the constellation is moved north to coincide with the actual site, we still have Tila/Orion Nebula at the center of the three Mayan hearthstones.
According to National Geographic photographer Stephen Alvarez, the Maya hold a ceremony at Tila dedicated to a black earth god, perhaps Ek Chuuah or God M/L. “Every June [solstice?] thousands and thousands of people crowd into the Chiapas town of Tila to see the Black Christ which hangs in the Catholic church in town. The town more than triples in size during the pilgrimage. Maya scholars have told me that the Black Christ is an embodiment of a Maya earth lord and that the blending of Catholic and Maya traditions is a prime example of syncretic religion.”

¿Quién es la Gente Hormiga?
Por todo el sudoeste americano encontramos petroglifos (grabados sobre piedra) o pictografías (pinturas sobre piedra) que representan entidades con largos y delgados cuerpos, ojos grandes, y cabezas protuberantes desde las que a veces sobresalen antenas. Estas extrañas figuras aparecen frecuentemente en una “posición de oración”, sus codos y rodillas puestos en ángulos rectos, semejante a la inclinación de las patas de las hormigas.
¿Representan estos dibujos a una raza de Gente Hormiga? ¿Registran éstos en realidad antiguos encuentros entre humanos y una especie alienígena?
¿Son las criaturas en verdad “alienígenas”, como aquellas del UFO crash de 1947, cerca de Roswell, Nuevo México? ¿O son alguna clase de anomalía de la criptobiología originaria de nuestro planeta? Si no, ¿son entonces manifestaciones meramente psicológicas - creaciones del inconsciente colectivo? Examinemos la evidencia.

“Aquellos que son de Orión” es el aparente significado del término Nefilim del Génesis 6:4 de la Nueva Biblia inglesa. Los investigadores masónicos Christopher Knight y Robert Lomas afirman que la raíz aramea de la palabra nephîli es un nombre para la constelación. Los Nefilim, claro, son conocidos para los lectores de Zecharia Sitchin. Este prolífico estudioso traduce la raíz sumeria NFL (¡no la liga del fútbol americana!) como “¡... aquellos que fueron lanzados a la Tierra!” La versión del Rey James los llama “los gigantes en la Tierra.” Justo antes del gran diluvio, “los hijos de los dioses,” interpretados como ángeles caídos o vigilantes, copularon con “las hijas de los hombres” para engendrar estos gigantes. Puede ser más que una coincidencia que Nefilim suene muy parecido a la palabra hebrea nemlh, que significa hormiga. En este caso, la morfología en lugar del tamaño es el factor principal.
Si los Nefilim son de hecho “de Orión,” la Gente Hormiga realmente podrían ser aquellos que fueron lanzados de los cielos, quizás del propio Orión.
Ya que la constelación asciende exactamente hacia el Este, uno podría pensar que el nombre Orión proviene de la palabra oriente. En realidad, se forma suprimiendo la “m" inicial de la raíz indoeuropea morui. Asombrosamente, esta palabra significa hormiga. El término Hopi para Orión es Hotòmqam, que literalmente quiere decir “para colgar” (como las cuentas en un cordel) o “tres”. Aunque esto parece contradictorio, el cenit y el nadir realmente son un eje shamánico que comprende el mundo subterráneo. Existen dos reinos separados en la cosmología de los Hopi: la superficie de la Tierra como el sitio de la actividad humana y una región combinada cielo/subterráneo como la casa de los espíritus, en particular los kachinas. Hormigueros celestiales

In a recent issue of Archaeology magazine Farouk El-Baz of Boston University suggests that the three major pyramids of the Giza Plateau may have been modeled after the naturally occurring, conical hills found near the Kharga Oasis almost 150 miles west of Luxor.
He also notes that the hieroglyph meaning “desert hills” has a pointed shape. 1

Francisco Peaks eerily echo the Egyptian triad.
The basaltic cinder cone of Humphreys Peak (12,633 feet in elevation, the highest point in the Arizona) dominates this arid landscape.
The slightly lower Agassiz Peak (12,356 feet) is about a mile and a half due south, while Fremont Peak (11,969 feet) rests a mile further southeast.
These mountains are the winter home of the Hopi kachinas, intercessory spirits (rather than gods per se) that take the form of any object or energy in the universe. There they assist in the germination and growth of corn, squash, beans and other crops during the spring and early summer.
From late April until July Hopi men don kachina masks, not to impersonate these spiritual helpers but to actually become them. Dancing from dawn until dusk in the village plaza under the brutal desert sun, they coax moisture from the few clouds drifting overhead.
Then upon the arrival of the monsoons in mid to late July, the kachinas return to their mountain habitat for the remainder of the year.
The relationship between the Egyptian desert hills and the three monumental pyramids may be similar to that between the volcanic mountains of Arizona and the three major Mesas where the Hopi settled about 900 years ago.
Although the Mesas are natural land forms rather than humanmade structures, the villages built atop them in effect sanctify the surrounding geography.

The Egyptian term for the underworld is Duat, whose gateway is Giza. Like the Giza pyramids, the Tuuwanasavi corresponds to the three stars in the Belt of Orion, which is the visual focus and spiritual heart of the constellation. The Mesas function as natural ziggurats, lifting the supplicant even closer to the celestial forces that must be appeased in order to gain the blessing of rainfall.
Scholar Vincent Scully explains the cultural significance of these land forms.
“Once we see the mesas as more than simply man-chosen but almost literally man-constructed - at the very least, man-finished, as the Hopi see them - their true scale in Hopi culture opens to our understanding.
We remember moreover that there is no semantic distinction for the Hopi between the works of nature and those of mankind. Hence the collaboration of the mesas is between commensurable beings. The Hopi are one with the rock.” 2.
For the Hopi the choosing and finishing of the Mesas is tantamount to the construction of the true pyramids of Egypt or the stepped pyramids of Mesoamerica.

The ancient Hopi petroglyph representing either “mesa” or “rain cloud” is the stepped pyramid, the exact copy of the Egyptian double staircase hieroglyph.
The Egyptian word Aatt means both the necropolis of the pyramid region and the Other World. It is formed by using both the double staircase hieroglyph and the pointed desert hills hieroglyph mentioned above. 3.
The souls of the pharaohs took flight from their pyramids to the stars in the same way that the otherworldly kachinas soar upon terraced storm clouds.
The Hopi word aatsava means “between” and the related word atsva means “above” or “on top,” thereby stressing the verticality of the mesa/pyramid. Incidentally, the primary Egyptian example of the stepped pyramid is found at Saqqara. The Hopi word saaqa means “ladder” or “stepladder.”
In both the Egyptian and the Hopi cultures, pyramids have an avian association. The Bennu bird, also known as the phoenix, was sometimes depicted as a gray heron perched atop a pyramid or obelisk. Periodically regenerated from its ashes, this sacred fowl is a primary symbol of eternal life.
The Bennu was even instrumental in the creation of the cosmos. The Shu Texts describes “...that breath of life which emerged from the throat of the Benu Bird, the son of Rê in whom Atum appeared in the primeval nought, infinity, darkness and nowhere.” 4.
Rising from the primordial abyss, the hikê (life-breath) is carried in the beak of the sacred bird of rebirth. It is perhaps more than a coincidence that the Hopi word hik’si echoes the Egyptian word hikê both phonetically and semantically.
The powerful image of a bird perched on the apex of a pyramid also appears on a Hopi artifact. In the early twentieth century near the present town of Winslow, Arizona the renowned archaeologist Jesse Walter Fewkes unearthed a stone slab covering a grave at Chevelon Ruin. 5. On one side of the painted slab a white rectangular border with black on the outside encloses three isosceles triangles or pyramids of nearly equal size.
On a yellow background each of these black pyramids contains a white square located near the base. A red bird, perhaps a macaw or parrot, is perched atop all three of these pyramids. Each of the stylized birds has a triangular body, the base of which forms its dorsal side. The body’s apex (where its feet would be) touches each pyramid’s apex. Only the bird at the center has eyes.
Facing to the right, they all have bifurcated tails and curving beaks. The four colors used on this slab are the traditional Hopi directional colors: yellow (northwest), black (southwest), red (southeast), and white (northeast). 6.
What is the meaning of these figures? Fewkes suggests that the triangles are simply rain clouds. The white square at the heart of each pyramid signifies inner space, perhaps an Underworld of sorts. The three pyramids possibly designate the three major promontories in the San Francisco Peaks as well as the three Hopi Mesas.
The exotic parrot or scarlet macaw represents the moisture of the tropical jungles far to the southeast, the direction symbolically implied by their redness.
This is also the region of the Mayan stepped pyramids. Used in prayer stick making and other ceremonies, the multi-hued feathers of these birds may symbolize the nadir, the Underworld direction of “many colors.” 7. Whole bodies of both parrots and macaws have been found in burial sites throughout the Southwest.

Fewkes also discovered other grave slabs at Chevelon with circular holes worn into them, ranging in size from a broomstick to an arm’s width. Somewhat condescending vis-à-vis the modern Hopi, he remarks on their purpose:
“Explanations more or less fanciful have been suggested for these perforated stones, one of which was that the rock had been placed above the body and the hole in it was for the escape of the soul or breath-body.” 8.
Given this evidence, the three birds atop their pyramids in Arizona most likely performed same function as did the journeying soul of the Bennu in Egypt - the omnipresent quest for immortality.
The Bennu iconography is also associated with the Benben, a black conical stone, possibly meteoric, used as a pyramidion, or apex of a pyramid. The Egyptian word ben denotes both the nominative “seed” or “semen” and the infinitive “to copulate” or “to impregnate”-- all particularly apropos of the phallic obelisk. 9.
In addition, the cognate ben-t means “cincture, belt, girdle,” 10. and might refer obliquely to Orion’s Belt.
Alnitak, the most eastern star of the Belt (corresponding to the Great Pyramid, or Khufu), literally means “the Girdle,” while Mintaka, the most western star (corresponding to Menkaure) is called “the Belt.” 11.
As with every truly divine omnipotence, the positive aspects are counter-balanced with the negative. Hence the word ben also means “evil, wickedness,” and the words ben-t or benut can also refer to “pustule, boil, abscess, or pus” 12. --all of which are attributes of the Hopi god of the Underworld and death, Masau’u. No “b” sound exists in the Hopi language, but the related word poengoe means “boil” or “abscess.”
Whether or not the pyramid shaped hills of the Sahara served as models for the massive structures at Giza is still debated. Because the winter and summer homes of the kachinas are the San Francisco Peaks and the Hopi Mesas respectively, this tribe most likely acknowledged the relationship between the three natural mountains and the three ceremonialized Mesas. Similarly, these Mesas reflect the three Belt stars of Orion.
Correlations abound, both on earth and in heaven. To live between the two realms upon this vast desert is to feel deep in one’s bones the hermetic maxim “As above, so below.”

Somerton is a city in Yuma County, Arizona, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 12,014.[1] It is part of the Yuma Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Somerton was established in 1898 and incorporated in 1918. Somerton's economy is based on agriculture and light industry.[3]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all of it land.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 7,266 people, 1,818 households, and 1,652 families residing in the city. The population density was 5,483.2 people per square mile (2,109.3/km²). There were 1,967 housing units at an average density of 1,484.4 per square mile (571.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 44.52% White, 0.37% Black or African American, 0.65% Native American, 0.34% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 51.11% from other races, and 2.99% from two or more races. 95.17% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 1,818 households out of which 59.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.9% were married couples living together, 16.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.1% were non-families. 7.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.99 and the average family size was 4.21.
In the city the population was spread out with 38.9% under the age of 18, 11.2% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 14.4% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 25 years. For every 100 females there were 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,544, and the median income for a family was $27,944. Males had a median income of $21,619 versus $16,677 for females. The per capita income for the city was $7,960. About 24.0% of families and 26.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 31.8% of those under age 18 and 27.9% of those age 65 or over.
Tamale Festival[edit]
Somerton has an annual Tamale Festival that benefits students from the area who will be attending Arizona State University. More than 20000 visitors attend the festival each year. The festival is put together by The EL Diablito Arizona State University (ASU) Alumni chapter. The chapter was established by ASU graduates who have returned to work and live in the Yuma/Somerton/San Luis area.

The Mayans are very specific in their views about Orion, they consider it to be a point of all creation. In 3114 B.C., they believe these gods came in a convention. Once called Mesa de las Vacas or “Mesa of the Cows” (likened to the Cult of HATHOR)…this place reminds me of the Hopi prophecies of the ‘sky gods’. The Native American tribe of the Hopi’s have called this place home for over a millennium. Some archeologists believe the mythology and design of their structures are centered around the Orion constellation. There are specifically three Hopi mesa’s (1st, 2nd, 3rd) which together form the shape of Orion’s Belt. Collectively others form the entire shape of the entire Orion Constellation.

Recent research by Phillis Pitluga, a senior astronomer with Chicago’s Adler Planetarium, has demonstrated that the spider, like the Great Pyramids at Giza in Egypt was designed as a terrestrial image in the waist of the spider is of the constellation of Orion. Not only does this spider reflect the Orion Constellation, but its extended arm points to the star SIRIUS.
The straight lines that pass through the geoglyph have been said to point to various directions that the stars of Orion have risen over the local horizon for many, many centuries. Nombre hebreo (Rahel) que significa "oveja". Para un pueblo nómada y pastor como los israelitas, éste era un gran nombre. Era una expresión de ternura el sobrenombre de oveja. La bellísima historia de amor que envuelve este nombre ha hecho que desde la primera Raquel hace ya cerca de tres mil años, hasta el presente, nunca haya dejado de llevarse.

de los sabios (de los eruditos) y de los entendidos, (de los intelectuales)
