“The floor of the chamber, as is well known, is quite disconnected from the walls, and stands somewhat above the base of the lowest course. This is an example of the marriage of certain irrational and mutually incommensurable numerical constants, such as π (pi) and √2 (square root of 2), using a system of whole numbers and their ratios. In order to do this, some rough-and-ready approximations must be incorporated. The primary approximation expressed by the gross form of the Horizon Pyramid is that of 6 2/7, or the perimeter of the base divided by the height, as a representation of the value 2π. Hence there can be no exact expression of any of the constants referenced in any of the physical approximations embodied in any of the structures. In fact, to find a single exact value anywhere would be to exclude all possibility of finding comparable references. The architect has created a compendium of equally variant Diophantine approximations.

In terms of the proportion 9:10:18, employing the derived Horizon cubit of ~22.9 English inches:- The theoretical surface area of the metrological cavity is 864 square Horizon cubits. This is equal to the surface area of a cube of edge 12 Horizon cubits. The volumes of the cavity and its cube of equal surface area are in the ratio of a naturally tempered musical semitone, 15:16. This is also the ratio of both the widths of the bases (variance 0.34%) and the capacities of the coffers of the Grand and Horizon Pyramids. The sum of the lengths of all the edges of a 12-cubit cube is to that of the cavity as 36:37. The theoretical volume of the Horizon Pyramid is 13,172,544 cubic Horizon cubits.

That is exactly equal to 7,623 12-cubit cubes; cubes, that is, of surface area equal to that of the theoretical metrological cavity. Now, these 7,623 cubes can be arranged as a stack of 7 equal square tiers of width 33. With the width of the tiers equal to the width of the base of the pyramid, the height of the resulting rectangular block is exactly 1/3rd of the height of the pyramid. Altogether, the figure clearly embodies in whole numbers the arithmetical method for calculating the volume of any pyramid; one third of the height times the area of the base.
Hence it may be concluded that the Horizon Pyramid was laid out and constructed using the pyk belady as its modulus. However, because nothing is known about the history of this unit of measure beyond its use in the construction of the Horizon Pyramid and its general use in Egypt at the time of Jomard's visit, its age and origin cannot be established and, therefore, no firm conclusion can be drawn about the age of the Horizon Pyramid from its use. Jomard's observation is seemingly the only connection to any memory of its existence, since all other mentions of this unit themselves refer back to him as their source. Nonetheless it is clear that the linear modulus of the Horizon Pyramid possesses a unique name and is no mere hypothesis. Not only that but the Horizon Pyramid linear modulus can confidently be labelled the Egyptian cubit, for that indeed is what it is.

Taking the disk of the Earth as a circle and the value of pi as 22/7, in Egyptian stades of 400 cubits the circumference so obtained is exactly 171,072 Egyptian stades and the radius 27,216. A Greek stade on the same circle would be exactly equal to 99/125 Egyptian stade (terrestrial circumference = 216,000 Greek stades).
The Horizon Pyramid width, at 99/100 Egyptian stades, is equally interesting since the terrestrial circumference comes out at 172,800 or 100 times the cube of 12. Moreover, again on the same circle, it is exactly equal to 1¼ Greek stades, the Greek metric standards having been supplied to Solon by the Temple of Neith at Sais around 600 BC, suggesting an unbroken tradition stretching from the building of the Giza complex to that of the Parthenon of Athens. The Greek system of linear measures was derived from the Egyptian and both include a digit (finger) as the smallest unit, a foot of 16 digits, a cubit of 24 digits and a stade of 600 feet.

3-3. The Grand Pyramid
The mean width of the base of the Grand Pyramid is almost exactly 370 Horizon cubits (pyk belady), the variance being roughly 1 part in 6,000 or 0.016%, and here the rounded figure will be assumed to be the intended width. This pyramid was apparently intended to conform to the proportions of a Pythagorean {3-4-5} triangle, giving a theoretical height of 246⅔ cubits or 370 feet.

The theoretical volume of the Grand Pyramid is exactly 37,989,750 cubic Horizon feet.

The length of each edge of the 6 cubes so defined is equal to half the height of, and to one third the width of, the pyramid.
3-4. The Divine Pyramid
Petrie's mean for the width of the Divine Pyramid is 4,153.6 English inches, or roughly 181.34 Horizon cubits with a probable intended figure of 181⅓ cubits, or 272 Horizon feet exactly, differing from the mean by –0.004%. For the angle of the apothem Petrie's “best conclusion” is 51°0' ± 10'. This results in a height somewhere between 2549 and 2580 English inches, or roughly 167 and 169 Horizon feet. Taking the mean gives a height of 168 feet and this will be found to share a common factor of 8 with the theoretical width. Hence the proportions are 21 rise on 17 base, revealing a clearly intended allusion in the division of the width by the height to Φ (Phi), the Golden Mean or Divine Proportion, differing from it by a mere +0.06%. In fact the ratio of height into width, 21:34, displayed by the Divine Pyramid is the 8th term of the Fibonacci Sequence, which converges to Phi.[18]

The ratio between the heights of Horizon and Divine pyramids is the same as that between the length and breadth respectively of the platform of the Parthenon of Athens - 4:9. This ratio belongs to the Lambda, itself the root and source of the dodekaphonic musical scale, as described in Chapter 1, suggesting that the Giza complex comprises an integrated design and that its overall planning was completed before a single stone was quarried for a single pyramid.

The reader can forget the Egyptological dogma that seeks to explain the compound slope of the Southern Shining Pyramid as a decision by the builders to switch slopes in mid-project, the rationalization of this usually being that they discovered that the internal stresses of the structure prevented completion of a pyramid with the continued slope of the lower section. How exactly they discovered this is never made clear and no evidence supporting the stress-factor hypothesis is ever presented. It is of course a flight of fancy, for from the outset the Southern Shining Pyramid was designed to be a flattened obelisk, as the following analysis of its geometry will make very clear.

I'm enjoying all the back pedaling  A fascinating article by the Smithsonian http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/The-Inside-Story-of-the-Controversial-New-Text-About-Jesus-170177076.htmlHarvard Divinity School’s Andover Hall overlooks a quiet street some 15 minutes by foot from the bustle of Harvard Square. A Gothic tower of gray stone rises from its center, its parapet engraved with the icons of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I had come to the school, in early September, to see Karen L. King, the Hollis professor of divinity, the oldest endowed chair in the United States and one of the most prestigious perches in religious studies. In two weeks, King was set to announce a discovery apt to send jolts through the world of biblical scholarship—and beyond. King had given me an office number on the fifth floor, but the elevator had no “5” button. When I asked a janitor for directions, he looked at me sideways and said the building had no such floor. I found it eventually, by scaling a narrow flight of stairs that appeared to lead to the roof but opened instead on a garret-like room in the highest reaches of the tower. What a coincidence the Lady lives in a TOWER on the 5 th Floor   The fragment’s 33 words, scattered across 14 incomplete lines, leave a good deal to interpretation. But in King’s analysis, and as she argues in a forthcoming article in the Harvard Theological Review, the “wife” Jesus refers to is probably Mary Magdalene, and Jesus appears to be defending her against someone, perhaps one of the male disciples.
“She will be able to be my disciple,” Jesus replies. Then, two lines later, he says: “I dwell with her.”
The question the discovery raises, King told me, is, “Why is it that only the literature that said he was celibate survived? And all of the texts that showed he had an intimate relationship with Magdalene or is married didn’t survive? Is that 100 percent happenstance? Or is it because of the fact that celibacy becomes the ideal for Christianity?”
Yes why did most texts showing him celibate survive and most texts saying he was married did not? Could it be deliberate? Is this evidence that the Church KNEW of these texts and like Hitler burned them and destroyed them? the title King has given the text: “The Gospel of Jesus’s Wife.”
We know according to the Bible Story that Peter and other Apostles had wives perhaps this Michaelangelo makes more sense of a wife and her children weeping over the death of a husband and father just a thought  Vittoria Colonna was trying to help reform the church ...a woman The Conflation Pope Gregory the Great, in a series of homilies in 591, asserted that Magdalene was in fact both the unnamed sinful woman in Luke who anoints Jesus’ feet and an unnamed adulteress in John whose stoning Jesus forestalls. The conflation simultaneously diminished Magdalene and set the stage for 1,400 years of portrayals of her as a repentant whore, whose impurity stood in tidy contrast to the virginal Madonna. It wasn’t until 1969 that the Vatican quietly disavowed Gregory’s composite Magdalene. According to the article this document has been known about since 1982 and it took a WOMAN to publish it the THREE MEN who had it in their hands died ... King, however, could not ask. Laukamp died in 2001, Fecht in 2006 and Munro in 2008. For legal purposes, however, the 1982 date of the correspondence was crucial, though it — along with the fact that Laukamp, Fecht and Munro were all dead — may well strike critics as suspiciously convenient. The next year, Egypt would revise its antiquities law to declare that all discoveries after 1983 were the unequivocal property of the Egyptian government. Luijendijk took the images to Roger Bagnall, a renowned papyrologist who directs the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University. Bagnall, who had previously chaired Columbia University’s department of classics, is known for his conservative assessments of the authenticity and date of ancient papyri.
Every few weeks, a group of eight to ten papyrologists in the New York area gather at Bagnall’s Upper West Side apartment to share and vet new discoveries. Bagnall serves tea, coffee and cookies, and projects images of papyri under discussion onto a screen in his living room.
After looking at the images of the papyrus, “we were unanimous in believing, yes, this was OK,” Bagnall told me when we spoke by phone.
It wasn’t until King brought the actual fragment to Bagnall’s office last March, however, that he and Luijendijk reached a firm conclusion. The color and the texture of the papyrus, along with the parallel deterioration of the ink and the reeds, had none of the “tells” of a forgery. “Anyone who has spent any time in Egypt has seen a lot of fake papyrus, made of banana leaves and all sorts of stuff,” Bagnall told me.

La nave interplanetaria Juno ha partido con destino a Júpiter y comienza un largo viaje de cinco años en los que recorrerá 2.800 millones de kilómetros para llegar al planeta gigante. El lanzamiento, en un cohete Atlas V, se ha realizado desde la base espacial de cabo Cañaveral (Florida, EEUU) con tres cuartos de hora de retraso retraso debido a un problema registrado en el último momento en la segunda etapa del cohete."Hoy, con el lanzamiento de la nave Juno, comienza el viaje hacia otra nueva frontera", ha declarado el director de la NASA, Charles Bolden. Tras el lanzamiento y el despliegue de sus tres grandes paneles solares, la Juno debe prepararse para la denominada fase de crucero, que consta de varias etapas. En su trayectoria la nave dará una vuelta y media al Sol. En octubre de 2013, cuando habrá recorrido ya 1.600 millones de kilómetros, se acercará de nuevo a la Tierra para tomar el impulso gravitatorio que necesita para llegar hasta Júpiter.
La misión, con un coste de 770 millones de euros, durará en total seis años. Los ingenieros calculan que, dada la alta radiación que recibirá en órbita de Júpiter, los instrumentos electrónicos estarán dañados en un año de funcionamiento allí, aunque los equipos más sensibles van protegidos dentro de un recipiente de titanio.
"Júpiter guarda la historia del sistema Solar. Si quieres comprender los primeros pasos de cómo se pasó de la formación del Sol a la de los planetas, tienes que comprender qué fue a parar a Júpiter y cómo se formó éste", ha declarado Scott Bolton, investigador principal de la misión, informa The New York Times. Los científicos quieren retomar la investigación donde la dejó la Galileo e intentar responder preguntas que aquella misión abrió.
"Júpiter es la piedra de Rosetta de nuestro Sistema Solar", ha destacado hoy Bolton tras el lanzamiento de la Juno. "Es, con mucho el planeta más antiguo, suma más materia que todos los demás planetas, asteroides y cometas juntos, y guarda en su interior la historia no sólo del Sistema Solar sino también la nuestra. Juno será allí nuestro emisario para interpretar los que Júpiter tenga que decir".
la Juno será la primera nave espacial que podrá ver en detalle los polos del planeta gigante. Estará en una órbita de trabajo muy elíptica que completará cada once días y cuando haya cumplido 33 órbitas, habrá sobrevolado todo el planeta; habrá transcurrido entonces el año de trabajo previsto. Entonces tomara una trayectoria de impacto contra las capas altas de nubes del planeta para destruirse. Lo mismo hizo la Galileo, para evitar que en el futuro, descontrolada, pudiera impactar en una de las nubes de Júpiter y contaminarla.
La Juno es una nave automática de tres toneladas y media de 3,5 metros de alto y 3,5 de diáemtro, desarrollada en el Jet Propulsión Laboratory (California), el centro por excelencia de exploración espacial interplanetaria en EE UU.

There Jane showed us a huge tunnel which someone had haphazardly dug underneath the foundation of the Tower. As we made out way into the graveyard, she pointed out that on the Skull & Crossbones above the gate (a Templar and Masonic symbol, by the way), the skull has 22 teeth. So Pan was depicted with horns due to the fact it represented Saturn, the ruler of the house of Capricorn which symbol is a goat.
Actually, the Mardi Gras celebration originated in the pagan pre-Christian celebration of spring. Ancient Greeks would sacrifice a goat, cut its hide in to strips and run naked through the fields while their pagan priests lashed them with the goat-hide strips. This was a part of their spring fertility rite to insure a productive harvest for their fields and increase the fertility of their flocks and women. The custom was degenerate even by pagan standards, being a time of lewdness, immorality, drunkenness and revelry and was associated with the worship of the Greek god "Pan". "Most scholars see a relationship between present day Mardi Gras and the ancient tribal rituals of fertility that welcomed the arrival of Spring. A possible ancestor of the celebration is the Lupercalis, a circus-like orgy held in mid-February in Rome." the day before Ash Wednesday was Carnival!
