Armstrong es una localidad del Departamento Belgrano, Provincia de Santa Fe, Argentina. Se ubica en la intersección de laAutopista Rosario - Córdoba, con la Ruta Nacional 178. Dista 95 km de Rosario y 20 km de Cañada de Gómez.

 

 

Historia[editar]

  • Tierra de la tribu querandí que en la época hispánica perteneció sucesivamente a la Compañía de Jesús, a los hacendados españoles, y posteriormente a los propietarios ingleses, el poblado se constituyó a partir de una estación del Ferrocarril Central.
  • Debe su nombre a Thomas Armstrong, uno de los pioneros en el desarrollo de la empresa ferroviaria. Aunque los planos de Armstrong fueron aprobados en 1929, una resolución establecería como fecha fundacional el 14 de diciembre de 1882, día en que se efectuara el primer loteo de tierras en la zona comprendida.
  • Para 1883 el pueblo tenía ya un almacén de ramos generales, estafeta postal y numerosos pobladores, en su mayoría inmigrantes italianos. Sería declarado ciudad el 4 de diciembre de 1984 por la Cámara de Senadores de la provincia de Santa Fe.

Rutas y accesos[editar]

  • Armstrong está situada estratégicamente sobre la Ruta 9 (Panamericana), equidistante de las ciudades de Córdoba y Buenos Aires, y a sólo 92 kilómetros de Rosario. Desde la ciudad de Santa Fe, capital provincial, se llega a Armstrong transitando la autopista Santa Fe- Rosario hasta San Lorenzo, y desde allí, la Ruta Nacional Nº 9 hasta destino. La distancia a recorrer es de 204 kilómetros.

Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon, has died at age of 82. A search of the Times-Tribune Archives found that Mr. Armstrong had never paid a visit to Scranton. But we do have the coverage of the momentous event that Mr. Armstrong along with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins will forever be remembered for.

“Many years ago the great British explorer George Mallory, who was to die on Mount Everest, was asked why he wanted to climb it. He said, “Because it is there.”

Well, space is there, and we’re going to climb it, and the moon and the planets are there, and new hopes for knowledge and peace are there. And, therefore, as we set sail we ask God’s blessing on the most hazardous and dangerous and greatest adventure on which man has ever embarked.”

On May 25th, 1961, American President John F. Kennedy famously announced to the world his ambitious goal to send man to the Moon. Gigantic human efforts and expenditures ensued, and by 1969, Neil Armstrong triumphantly stepped from the Apollo spacecraft onto the surface of the Moon, to many cheers back on Earth.

Now, we are paying homage to the President who inspired the human space programme, by sending his celebrated speech into orbit as part of our Message to the Moon time capsule. As part of our recent Space Centre Experience to Washington, we took a group of students to see the former President, John F. Kennedy’s grave. Here, the memorial in his name – The Eternal Flame – has burnt since the day his wife Jackie lit it at his funeral on November 25th, 1963.

Explicación: Bienvenidos al solsticio de diciembre, un día en que el mundo no se acaba … ni siquiera según el calendario maya. El día del solsticio de diciembre es la noche más larga del año en el hemisferio Norte y la más corta en el hemisferio Sur.
 
Para celebrarlo, mira esta espectacular fotografía de Orion elevándose sobre la pirámide central de Chichén Itzá, uno de los grandes centros mayas de la península de Yucatán. Conocida también como el Templo de Kukulkán, tiene 30 metros de altura y 55 metros de ancho en la base. Está construida mediante una serie de terrazas cuadradas por la civilización precolombina entre los siglos IX y XII.
La estructura se puede utilizar como un calendario y se caracteriza por las alineaciones astronómicas . De hecho, los mayas eran unos consumados astrónomos y matemáticos. Usaban con precisión los movimientos cíclicos de las estrellas, del Sol, de la Luna y los planetas para medir el tiempo y elaborar calendarios.

Brillan a través de las nubes en esta escena nocturna, las estrellas de la constelación de Orión, El Cazador, representaban una tortuga en el cielo maya. Tak sáamal.

Los judíos celebran la Pascua para conmemorar su escape del cautiverio de manos de los egipcios (aproximadamente en 1250 a. C.).


El pésaj judío se origina en la historia contada en la Torá, en la que Yahvé mató a todos los primogénitos de los egipcios. Esta era la última de las plagas enviadas por Dios en contra del Faraón de Egipto y su pueblo por su negativa de liberar a los hijos de Israel. Escogerán un corderito, tomarán su sangre para untar los postes y la parte superior de sus puertas. Lo comerán todo asado, con su cabeza y sus entrañas, con panes sin levadura. Yo recorreré Egipto y daré muerte a todos los primogénitos de los egipcios y de sus animales. Al ver la sangre del cordero pasaré de largo de vuestras casas.

Los sacerdotes judíos se acogen fielmente a lo exigido por la Tora. El pan no fermentado recuerda la salida apresurada en que faltó tiempo para hacer fermentar el pan (18 minutos). Esto debe cumplirse durante los 7 días anteriores a la Pascua.
