Chapel of Mary Magdalene - Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem

The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is a conglomerate of more than 30 chapels and places of worship, laid out in a rather chaotic way, and showcasing a mishmash of different architectural styles. Most of these places of worship are believed to be the actual places where different events of the life and death Christ took place, including Golgotha, or Calvary, where Jesus was crucified, and the tomb (sepulchre) where he was buried. This picture shows the pavement of the Chapel of Mary Magdalene, dedicated to the encounter between Mary Magdalene and Jesus. The pavement is a modern copy of the original floor from the 11th century. It consists of two circular sectors indicating the positions, at the time of their encounter, of Jesus, at the point encircled by rays, and Mary Magdalene, at the center of three circles.
