The snake plant (Sansevieria), also known as mother-in-law's tongue, is a hardy and stylish houseplant that's perfect for both beginners and seasoned plant lovers. Known for its tall, sword-like leaves and air-purifying abilities, the snake plant thrives on neglect, making it one of the easiest indoor plants to care for.
Place your snake plant in bright, indirect light, although it can tolerate low light and even some direct sun. Water sparingly—only when the soil is completely dry. Typically, this means watering every 2–4 weeks, depending on the temperature and humidity. Overwatering is the most common issue, so always ensure proper drainage to avoid root rot.
Snake plants care  prefer room temperatures between 60–85°F (15–29°C) and don't require frequent fertilization. Feeding once every spring or summer with a diluted houseplant fertilizer is enough. Occasionally wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to keep them clean and help with photosynthesis.
This plant is also known for improving indoor air quality by filtering toxins like formaldehyde and benzene. With just a little attention and care, your snake plant will continue to grow upright and strong, making it a beautiful and beneficial addition to your home or office space.
