I’m preparing for my first vehicle inspection in Maryland, and I’m nervous I’ll forget something important. I don’t want to fail just because of a small overlooked detail. I need a way to check everything before heading to the DOT center. |

The best thing I did was prepare a Maryland DOT Inspection Checklist. I went through each required item – brakes, tires, lights, mirrors, wipers, seatbelts, horn – and checked them off as I inspected my car. Doing this at home gave me confidence that nothing would be missed. For example, I noticed a tiny crack in a taillight while going through the list, replaced it, and avoided failing for such a small issue. Having a structured checklist means you walk in ready and don’t waste time on repeat visits. |

That’s really useful. I’d rather spend a few minutes checking at home than failing later. I’ll make a Maryland DOT Inspection Checklist for my car too. |
