I’m especially curious about how responsibilities shift between focusing on physical constraints like materials, manufacturing, and durability versus handling user research, interaction flows, accessibility, and continuous iteration based on feedback. How do these differences affect long-term satisfaction, creativity, and the sense of ownership over what you build? |

I’ve worked with both product vs UX designer, sometimes as separate roles, sometimes combined. The biggest difference I noticed was scope. UX designers often focused deeply on research and flows, while product designers balanced that with business and technical constraints. When both perspectives were respected, the product improved noticeably. From my experience, the titles matter less than clarity around responsibilities. Good collaboration between these roles reduced friction and led to more thoughtful decisions. |
