Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on a shipping container modification project and looking into different window options that are designed specifically for containers. The goal is to add natural light and some ventilation without making the installation too complicated.
I noticed that many people recommend using windows that are built specifically for container walls instead of adapting standard residential windows. While researching, I came across a shipping container window kit that seems to be designed for container conversions and can be installed without welding, which sounds much easier for DIY projects.
From what I understand, these kits usually include insulated glass, aluminum framing, and sometimes ventilation panels to help with airflow inside the container. That seems like a good solution for container offices, workshops, or even small living spaces.
Has anyone here installed a window in a shipping container before? I’d be interested to know how difficult the installation process was and whether these pre-built window kits are worth it compared to modifying standard windows.
Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks!
