Information Center for the General Meeting of May 20th in Cuba to Open in Miami

Miami, Florida, April 9, 2005

Cuban exile organizations will open an Information Center in support of the May 20th General Meeting convened by the Assembly to Promote Civil Society in Cuba – a coalition of more than 340 independent groups – whose objective is to strengthen Cuba’s civil society towards the instauration of democracy in the island.

This Center will be open from May 16th through May 26th in a building located at 850 N.W. Le Jeune Road, which was generously provided to be utilized during this time by Cuban American businessman Sergio Pino.

Volunteers from Cuban exile organizations that support the General Meeting of May 20th will work at the Center.

Each exile organization will appoint a delegate to the Ad Hoc Committee that will be constituted in an upcoming meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th at 7 PM at the Information Center.

Funcionará en Miami Centro de Apoyo e Información de la Reunión General del 20 de mayo en Cuba

Miami, Florida, 9 de abril del 2005


Organizaciones exiliadas cubanas, han establecido un Centro de Apoyo e Información, para la Reunión General del 20 de mayo, convocada por la Asamblea para Promover la Sociedad Civil, con vista al fortalecimiento de la emergente sociedad civil independiente del Estado, y la instauración de la democracia en Cuba.

Ese Centro permanecerá abierto del 16 al 26 de mayo en el local situado en el 850 N.W. Le Jeune Rd, generosamente cedido para ser utilizado durante este tiempo, por el empresario cubano americano Sergio Pino.

En el Centro trabajarán voluntarios de las organizaciones exiliadas cubanas que apoyan la Reunión General del 20 de mayo.

Las organizaciones nombrarán un delegado que los represente al Comité Ad Hoc que será constituido al efecto en reunión a celebrarse el martes, 19 de abril, a las 7 p.m., en el Centro de Información y Apoyo.
