El costo que hay que pagar en Cuba por querer conectarse al Internet El periodista independiente Lazaro Fariñas, que ha participado en varias huelgas de hambre para reclamar su derecho a poder conectarse al Internet, fue golpeado la semana pasada por la Gestapo castrista en la ciudad de Santa Clara. El incidente se originó cerca de las 4 de la madrugada, cuando Fariñas, en compañía de la directora del Centro de Cultura Independiente "Entre Ríos", Miriam Fernández Armas, y su esposo Oscar Madruga González, abandonaban la vivienda del matrimonio, sita en calle Candelaria # 208 (interior) entre Carretera Central y Alemán de la capital provincial. Una turba encabezada por el teniente de la policía política Yuniel Monteagudo Reina, otro oficial no identificado y cuatro civiles de la paramilitar Asociación de Combatientes de la Revolución Cubana (ACRC), luego de una breve discusión política, abofetearon y patearon al director de la agencia "Cubanacán Press"; además de empujar y arrojar al piso a Fernández Armas y Madruga González.
