 A celebration of the publication of a new book by Pathfinder Press:

Capitalism and the Transformation of Africa

       Reports from Equatorial Guinea                    

             Mary Alice Waters, president of Pathfinder Press and Martín Koppel, a Spanish language editor of Pathfinder Press author this newly published book. They do not pretend to be experts on Equatorial Guinea. Their focus is to spotlight the transformation of the emerging class relations today--the forming a working class drawn from the four corners of the earth-- and the bourgeoisie and layers of traders, middlemen, and professionals that are beginning to develop.  This is a book about the future being forged in the present.  It is about the fight to make it a future that advances the interests of toiling humanity, different in all ways from the only past we have known.

The book also discusses the role revolutionary Cuba plays in advancing the African liberation struggle and points to what workers and farmers in power can do to move the immense majority of humankind toward this future.

Reportajes desde Guinea Ecuatorial

Mary Alice Waters, presidenta del editorial Pathfinder y Martín Koppel, un editor de la lengua española del editorial Pathfinder, son los autores de este libro recién publicado.  Los autores no pretenden ser expertos en Guinea Ecuatorial.  Su enfoque es destacar a la tranformación de las relaciones de clases que surgen hoy día—la formación de una clase trabajadora traída desde las cuatro esquinas del globo – y la burguesía y capas de comerciantes, intermediarios y profesionales que se va formando.  Este es un libro acerca del futuro que se va forjando en el presente.  Trata sobre la lucha para convertirlo en un futuro que impulse los intereses de la humanidad trabajadora, diferente en todo sentido del único pasado que hemos conocido.

Este libro también discute el papel que Cuba revolucionaria juega en avanzar a la lucha por la liberación de África y que señala lo que los trabajadores y campesinos en poder pueden hacer para impulsar a la inmensa mayoría de la humanidad hacia este futuro.
