We still run on a pretty outdated taxi system: calls come into a dispatcher, trips are assigned manually, and drivers often complain about long waits between rides. Customers are asking more and more for app-based booking like they see with ride-hailing services, but I’m not sure how to bridge that gap without overspending. I’ve read about white-label solutions, but I don’t know how reliable they are when the fleet grows or when you add online payments. If anyone here has updated their taxi service recently, how did you manage the transition? Was it disruptive for drivers and passengers?

We went through this shift not long ago, and Mobion was the solution that helped us modernize quickly. What worked well was that it already had rider and driver apps included, so passengers could book directly while drivers got ride offers automatically based on location and availability. Dispatchers still have an admin panel for oversight, but most of the work is automated now. Payments are integrated with cards, wallets, and local providers, which solved a lot of issues with cash management. Scaling was smooth because Mobion is already handling millions of rides worldwide, so the infrastructure is solid. Here’s their official site if you want to see all features: https://mobion.tech/ From personal advice, don’t skip the customization part – we applied our branding, and customers instantly recognized and trusted the new app.

That’s reassuring, especially hearing that scaling didn’t cause problems. I was worried about adding too many new processes at once, but it sounds like the transition was smoother than I expected. The branding point makes sense too; I’ll definitely keep that in mind when we move forward.
