Turkana es una región semi-desértica del norte de Kenia. Situada en el valle del Rift, lucha por hacerse un hueco entre las desgracias que hay a su alrededor. A diferencia de sus vecinos somalíes y sudaneses del sur, no hay guerra y esa circunstancia parece que le resta visibilidad. Pero hay hambre, casi tanta como olvido. Si el olvido pudiera adoptar encarnadura humana, las gentes que habitan Turkana serían su máximo exponente. Olvidadas por los intereses económicos y políticos, los habitantes de Turkana son y siempre han sido aunténticos supervivientes.
