El primer castillo de piedra de la localidad de Vitré, Francia, fue construido por el barón Roberto I de Vitré a finales del siglo XI. El lugar defensivo elegido, un promontorio rocoso, domina el valle del río Vilaine.

El Castillo de Neuschwanstein, en el sur de Baviera, es uno de los lugares más visitados del país. Y es que el Schloss Neuschwanstein es probablemente el mejor ejemplo de «castillo de cuento de hadas» que podemos ver en Europa. De hecho, fue el inspirador del famoso Castillo de Disney. Junto a otros dos palacios de Luis II (Linderhof y Herrenchiemsee), Neuschwanstein completa un conjunto conocido popularmente como «Castillos del Rey Loco», declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad.

"It is in Carinthia, the southern part of Austria. The castle tower was renovated about 100 years ago, explaining the different design of the top of the tower. The intention of the owner was to please the Austrian Kaiser Franz Josef I. at the opening ceremony of the Tauern-Railway in 1909. The castle can be visited and has a really nice and intact interior, very authentic!"
