Editing Vector Text
Use the Text tool to edit vector text. Edit the characters, and/or any properties used to define the appearance of the text.
Note: You cannot edit the characters or formatting of raster text. To modify Raster text, use the Deform tool.
To edit text:
- To open the Text Entry dialog, do one of the following:
- On the Tools toolbar, click the Text tool , position the cursor over the text in the image until the cursor turns to , then click.
- Right-click and select Edit Text.
- On the Layer palette double-click the layer containing text, or right-click on the layer and select Edit Text.
- The Text Entry dialog opens with the text highlighted.
At this dialog, Paint Shop Pro changes only highlighted text. If no text is highlighted when you choose options, the options affect new text you type at the cursor position.
- Edit the text in any of these ways:
- To format all text, keep it all highlighted and choose options on the Tool Options palette or choose new colors or materials on the Materials palette.
- To format one or more characters, click and drag to highlight the text you want to change, and choose options on the Tool Options or Materials palette.
- To add new text, click where you want to insert it and begin typing.
- To delete text, highlight the text and press Delete.

Thanks timber for all of your help trying to remind me how to do "edit text". I think I have it figured out now.
I went back over the SBP Glitter tut and instructions to see what my problem was with the text edit instructions and results.
I also reread the help info in PSP and in my psp User Guide that came with my JASC PSP 8. The info in the guide is often different than what is in the help menu. It was a bit different in this case.
If you don't have a copy, you can download a pdf version HERE
Mine comes in handy! Here is a screen shot of page 308 of this guide:
To make the edit text work, I did not realize that I needed to click on the + sign and right-click on the text layer. When I did, I expected to see a box open that that gave me options.
LOL, it took me a while to realize that after I selected edit text, I just needed to make the change to the fill or background layers on my material palette.
I think I have it figured out now. Thanks again.

Thank you for sharing this extremely important information. I have always had problems with writing and editing text. It was especially difficult to write diagnostic essays, for a long time I got very bad marks for them. But recently I found an article where it is perfectly described what is a diagnostic essay, it helped me a lot. Now my essays are much better and I am very pleased with the result. It is very good that now you can easily find valuable information to improve your knowledge. |
