Pentagonal se refiere al Ciclo formado por 5 ciclos sinódicos.
Venus y la Tierra danzan en sincronía matemática y geométrica en el salón del Espacio, al son de la sutilísima vibración de la música de las esferas, pues esferas son. El milenario mito de la llamada "Música de las Esferas" es mito mientras no se comprende qué es o a qué se refiere. Es como si una persona no reconociera que los instrumentos musicales suenan y por eso concluye que la "música de los instrumentos" es mito. Sólo le basta escuchar, sentir, vibrar y comprender. Nosotros estamos en una de esas esferas: el Planeta Tierra, aunque si pensamos un poco comprenderemos que es normal que sea posible que no conozcamos la maravilla en la que estamos inmersos ni que participemos activamente en ella, como aquel espectador que está de gratis en un maravilloso concierto y él mismo es un instrumento y se queda dormido, pero no porque la música sea aburrida sino porque no sabe que está ahí.
Cada 8 años, que son 8 órbitas de la Tierra y 13 de Venus, ambos planetas se encuentran 5 veces en sus puntos más cercanos, al mismo lado del Sol, 5 puntos que son equidistantes y que forman los 5 vértices de una estrella de 5 puntas. Puedes pulsar sobre la imagen para ver la animación.
Si continúas observando podrás comprobar cómo Venus y la Tierra continúan trazando la figura pentagonal, aunque ya no desde el mismo punto que la anterior. De hecho, comienzan una nueva 2,33 días antes que la anterior. La actual la comenzaron el 8 de junio de 2004 y termina el 6 de junio de 2012. Esto significa que esa estrella de 5 puntas gira también alrededor del Sol hasta dar una vuelta en 1.252 años: un Ciclo mayor compuesto por 156 subciclos Pentagonales (1.252 órbitas de la Tierra y 2.035 de Venus). Así es como los planetas crean los Ciclos Cósmicos. 1.252 años son 457.457 días, que es prácticamente 676 x 676 ó 26x26x26x26 ó (13+13)x(13+13)x(13+13)x(13+13) días.
Aquí puedes verlo de otra manera comenzando desde el 8 de junio de 2004 (cuando se produjo un tránsito de Venus) hasta el 6 de junio de 2012 en que se produce otro tránsito. Puedes hacer click sobre la escena repetidamente.
Los números 5, 8 y 13 son números consecutivos de la serie Fibonacci en la que cada número dividido por su anterior tiende al valor del número Phi, el que marca la llamada "proporción divina" de ciertos elementos de la Naturaleza, por no decir muchos o todos, y entre los cuales están las propias piezas que componen el esqueleto de nuestros cuerpos: los huesos. En la vigésima división de la serie Fibonacci, entre los números 6.765 y 4.181, se obtiene un valor de phi afinado hasta el sexto decimal: 1'6180339. También se puede ver que los números de la serie Fibonacci 6.765 y 4.181 como días terrestres convertidos a Tzolkins son 26 y 16 Tzolkin, y mientras el año de la Tierra (365 días) es 1,62 veces más largo que el de Venus (225 días), siendo 1,62 el redondeo de 1,618 que es el valor de Phi, en el ciclo sinódico Venus da 2'6 órbitas y la Tierra da 1'6 (fracciones de 26 y 16). Y por fin, reproduciendo los tres números de la serie Fibonacci 5, 8 y 13 en el ciclo pentagonal resulta que 5 es el número de encuentros entre La Tierra y Venus durante 8 órbitas de la Tierra y 13 de Venus.
Viendo desde el planeta Tierra, desde el meridiano del mediodía, sin que gire el planeta (pero sí trasladándose) y acelerando mucho el movimiento de los astros hasta que en 20 segundos transcurrieran 8 años, podríamos ver a Venus realizar 5 movimientos retrógrados cada 8 años, 2 en forma de lazo, 1 en zig zag (cruzando la eclíptica) y otros 2 de nuevo en forma de lazo (casi simétricos a los dos primeros). Los trazos en forma de lazo los realiza por encima o debajo de la eclíptica según ande circulando por el nodo superior o inferior de su órbita (inclinada respecto a la de la Tierra). Empleando una expresión metafórica, son las Curvas de Venus.
También podemos verlas como las letras gráficas del lenguaje venusiano. Tales trazos derivan gradualmente en el cielo terrestre cada 8 años en sentido contrario al del Sol ante el fondo fijo de las estrellas y las constelaciones, de modo que desde hace unos 100 años, el movimiento en zig zag de Venus ha venido ocurriendo sobre la constelación de Orión.
El 13 es número basico en el Ciclo Pentagonal, pues es el número de órbitas de Venus, de modo que en 13 Ciclos Pentagonales Venus da 169 órbitas (13x13). Este ciclo de 13 ciclos Pentagonales es 37.960 días durante los que Venus realiza 65 ciclos sinódicos (o alineamientos con la Tierra) y en los que también intervienen 146 ciclos del Tzolkin 146 e incluso 104 del Haab (103,96 años de 365,2422 años). Vemos que el el 65 y el 104 son múltiplos del 13.
13 Pentagonales = 13 x 2920 días = 37.960 días
65 ciclos sinódicos = 65 x 584 días = 37.960 días
104 Haabs = 104 x 365 días = 37.960 días
146 Tzolkines = 146 x 260 días = 37.960 días
A su vez este ciclo de 37.960 días ó 13 Ciclos Pentagonales es una unidad de otros ciclos mayores.
Venus es el segundo planeta del Sistema Solar en orden de distancia desde el Sol, y el tercero en cuanto a tamaño, de menor a mayor. Recibe su nombre en honor a Venus, la diosa romana del amor. Se trata de un planeta de tipo rocoso y terrestre, llamado con frecuencia el planeta hermano de la Tierra, ya que ambos son similares en cuanto a tamaño, masa y composición, aunque totalmente diferentes en cuestiones térmicas y atmosféricas. La órbita de Venus es una elipse con una excentricidad de menos del 1%, formando la órbita más circular de todos los planetas; apenas supera la de Neptuno. Su presión atmosférica es 90 veces superior a la terrestre; es por tanto la mayor presión atmosférica de todos los planetas rocosos. A pesar de no estar más cerca del Sol que Mercurio, Venus posee la atmósfera más caliente, pues ésta atrapa mucho más calor del Sol, debido a que está compuesta principalmente por gases de invernadero, como el dióxido de carbono. Este planeta además posee el día más largo del sistema solar: 243 días terrestres, y su movimiento es dextrógiro, es decir, gira en el sentido de las manecillas del reloj, contrario al movimiento de los otros planetas. Por ello, en un día venusiano el sol sale por el oeste y se oculta por el este.
Al encontrarse Venus más cercano al Sol que la Tierra, siempre se puede encontrar, aproximadamente, en la misma dirección del Sol (su mayor elongación es de 47,8°), por lo que desde la Tierra se puede ver sólo unas cuantas horas antes del orto, en unos meses del año, o después del ocaso, en el resto del año. A pesar de ello, cuando Venus es más brillante, puede ser visto durante el día, siendo uno de los tres únicos cuerpos celestes que pueden ser vistos de día a simple vista, además de la Luna y el Sol. Venus es normalmente conocido como la estrella de la mañana (Lucero del Alba) o la estrella de la tarde (Lucero Vespertino) y, cuando es visible en el cielo nocturno, es el segundo objeto más brillante del firmamento, tras la Luna.
Por este motivo, Venus debió ser ya conocido desde los tiempos prehistóricos. Sus movimientos en el cielo eran conocidos por la mayoría de las antiguas civilizaciones, adquiriendo importancia en casi todas las interpretaciones astrológicas del movimiento planetario. En particular, la civilización maya elaboró un calendario religioso basado en los ciclos astronómicos, incluyendo los ciclos de Venus. El símbolo del planeta Venus es una representación estilizada del espejo de la diosa Venus: un círculo con una pequeña cruz debajo, utilizado también hoy para denotar el sexo femenino.
Los adjetivos venusiano-a, venusino-a y venéreo-a (poéticamente) son usados para denotar las características habitualmente atribuidas a Venus-Afrodita. El adjetivo venéreo suele asociarse a las enfermedades de transmisión sexual. Es junto a la Tierra (diosa Gea de la antigüedad) el único planeta del Sistema Solar con nombre femenino, aparte de dos de los planetas enanos, Ceres y Eris.
Aunque todas las órbitas planetarias son elípticas, la órbita de Venus es la más parecida a una circunferencia, con una excentricidad inferior a un 1%.
El ciclo entre dos elongaciones máximas (período orbital sinódico) dura 584 días. Después de esos 584 días Venus aparece en una posición a 72° de la elongación anterior. Dado que hay 5 períodos de 72° en una circunferencia, Venus regresa al mismo punto del cielo cada 8 años (menos dos días correspondientes a los años bisiestos). Este periodo se conocía como el ciclo Sothis en el Antiguo Egipto.
En la conjunción inferior, Venus puede aproximarse a la Tierra más que ningún otro planeta. El 16 de diciembre de 1850 alcanzó la distancia más cercana a la Tierra desde el año 1800, con un valor de 39.514.827 kilómetros (0,26413854 UA). Desde entonces nunca ha habido una aproximación tan cercana. Una aproximación casi tan cercana será en el año 2101, cuando Venus alcanzará una distancia de 39.541.578 kilómetros (0,26431736 UA).
Venus gira sobre sí mismo lentamente en un movimiento retrógrado, en el mismo sentido de las manecillas del reloj, de Este a Oeste en lugar de Oeste a Este como el resto de los planetas (excepto Urano), tardando en hacer un giro completo sobre sí mismo 243,0187 días terrestres. No se sabe el porqué de la peculiar rotación de Venus. Si el Sol pudiese verse desde la superficie de Venus aparecería subiendo desde el Oeste y posándose por el Este, con un ciclo día-noche de 116,75 días terrestres[1] y un año venusiano de 1,92 días venusianos.
Además de la rotación retrógrada, los periodos orbital y de rotación de Venus están sincronizados de manera que siempre presenta la misma cara del planeta a la Tierra cuando ambos cuerpos están a menor distancia. Esto podría ser una simple coincidencia pero existen especulaciones sobre un posible origen de esta sincronización como resultado de efectos de marea afectando a la rotación de Venus cuando ambos cuerpos están lo suficientemente cerca.
El nacimiento de Jesús que relata Mateo es el corazón del ciclo festivo del solsticio de invierno, que se extiende hasta el 5 de enero. Pero esta narración simbólica también transmite una historia real a través de la cual podemos vislumbrar el verdadero rostro del Mesías que iluminó al mundo desde Galilea.
Cada año se representa la misma escena familiar: la estrella que guió a los magos de Oriente hasta el pesebre, la Virgen y el niño Jesús. Son imágenes inspiradas en El Evangelio según Mateo, que preceden a la Huida a Egipto y a la matanza de los inocentes. Pero pocos advierten que este relato encierra una historia oculta y un misterio fascinante.
Para muchos autores se trata de una «leyenda» sin contenido histórico. Las estrellas no se mueven. Tampoco existe mención de una matanza de niños en otras fuentes. Sólo Mateo narra estos hechos. Por tanto, su conclusión es que éste inventó un suceso milagroso para rodear el nacimiento del Mesías cristiano de grandes prodigios en el Cielo y en la Tierra. El resultado habría sido el mito de la Natividad, completado entre los siglos II y IV por apócrifos como el Pseudo Mateo.
La Estrella y los Magos
Sin embargo, la estrella que tanto ha dado que hablar sirvió de guía a todas las culturas antiguas, como un auténtico faro celeste. Era Sirio, la estrella-perro (guía) de la constelación de Orión. En los días de Jesús, los sabeos mandeanos rindieron culto a «la Estrella-guía» . Al parecer, Juan el Bautista fue un mandeo. Y la conexión de esta corriente judía heterodoxa con Egipto era estrecha: peregrinaban a Giza, creían que las tres pirámides de dicha meseta eran las tumbas de sus profetas Set e Idris (Enoch) y reivindicaban una religión adámica de la cual había sido seguidor Abraham, el primer antepasado de Jesús en la genealogía de éste que recoge Mateo. Y ciertamente, la «Estrella-guía» de los mandeos (Sirio), se movía: su ascenso en el Cielo precedía a Orión, cuyo cinturón tachonaban tres astros rutilantes: tres magos que peregrinaban en el firmamento de Oriente. Las pirámides de Giza habían sido concebidas por los antiguos egipcios como un reflejo de estos tres astros del cinturón de Orión sobre la Tierra.
En esta cultura, Orión era Osiris, el dios muerto y resucitado por su esposa Isis, identificada con Sirio. Como para ellos Escorpio era el falo del Osiris celeste y dicha constelación se ocultaba cuando se levantaban Sirio y Orión, la procreación del dios hijo Horus se había consumado sin intervención del sexo de Osiris, devorado por un pez. El milagro se repetía todos los años y su signo era la inundación del Nilo, el reflejo en la Tierra de la Vía Láctea.
La conexión egipcia de la Navidad cristiana aparece en Mateo desde el principio. La genealogía de Jesús se compone de 3 tramos de 14 generaciones cada uno. Y Mateo añade algo obvio: si sumamos el segundo tramo de 14 al primero obtenemos 28 y, añadiendo el tercero, hacen un total de 42. Los tres números son claves del mito de Osiris, que en el año 28 de su reinado fue asesinado y mutilado en 14 trozos por su hermano Seth. Después, el dios fue resucitado por su esposa Isis, asistida por el dios Thot, que había compendiado la suma de la sabiduría divina revelada a los antiguos egipcios en 42 libros secretos (el total que suman las generaciones en Mateo). Con este simbolismo, éste nos señala la pista egipcia, precisamente el país hacia donde se dirige la Sagrada Familia después de la Adoración de los Magos.
En su genealogía Mateo incluye a 5 mujeres. ¿Por qué sólo 5 entre 42 posibles? La respuesta es fácil. La estrella de 5 puntas representaba el dominio estelar y el número sagrado de Horus, símbolo de sus ojos y de su linaje divino: el Sol paterno (3) y la Luna materna (2). Y otro indicio de que la Estrella de Belén era Sirio, representada como estrella de 5 puntas en la cultura del Nilo y por los iniciados.
El número 5 y su figura geométrica asociada (pentágono), que dio lugar al Pentagrama €“estrella de cinco puntas inscrita en el círculo€“, tenía un profundo significado místico. Por el hecho de unir al primer par (2, número femenino) y al primer impar (3, masculino) era considerado un símbolo nupcial. Así lo interpretaban también los pitagóricos griegos, entre quienes fue un signo de reconocimiento entre iniciados, como la imagen del pez para los primeros cristianos, evocadora del pez que devoró el falo de Osiris y también del misterioso pez-profeta, hermano de Horus, en una variante del mito egipcio que transmite Plutarco, en la cual este dios hijo se autoengendra en Edfu. Como el pez (Piscis), también el 5 tenía resonancias astronómicas entre los griegos, porque se asociaba a los cinco planetas conocidos y especialmente a Venus, antigua diosa madre.
Mateo nos transmite así la naturaleza divina de Jesús desde su nacimiento: el cumplimiento de una promesa revelada a todas las culturas desde la noche de los tiempos. El Hijo de Dios había encarnado aquella noche que conmemora la Navidad. La Estrella-guía Sirio condujo a los magos celestes del cinturón de Orión. Al iluminar el pesebre, éstos derramaron la gracia de Dios sobre el niño: incienso (santidad), mirra (sabiduría y resurrección) y oro (realeza). Ni la Estrella-guía ni los magos faltaron en aquel establo.
Esta conexión egipcia está bien documentada. En sus Anales, el historiador romano Cornelio Tácito €“que fue miembro experto de una comisión imperial para asuntos religiosos€“, afirma que los judíos formaban «una sola superstición con los egipcios». Tácito se refería a los primeros cristianos, que se consideraron judíos hasta su separación de la sinagoga, consumada bajo Nerón.
La matanza de los inocentes
No hay otros documentos, aparte de Mateo, que recojan la matanza de los inocentes. Pero cuando Jesús tenía aproximadamente 12 o 14 años, los soldados de Roma pasaron a cuchillo a la población de Séforis, capital de Galilea muy próxima a Nazareth, debido a la revolución del censo. Esta masacre tuvo lugar hacia el año 6-7 d.C. Jesús debió contemplar muchas veces las ruinas de Séforis. En sus días, las matanzas de inocentes en Galilea fueron frecuentes.
Mateo no recogió un hecho histórico literal con el episodio de la matanza de Belén, pero tampoco ideó una fantasía. Simplemente, elaboró un midrash, un género característico de los judíos que consiste en un relato simbólico en el cual se recogen los antecedentes bíblicos de un hecho, a través de los cuales se expresa su significado trascendente. Este era el método para explicar las causas de la historia en su cultura. Los símbolos que representaban dichas causas tenían para ellos el mismo valor que concedemos hoy a los factores económicos, políticos y sociales. Y como éstos, explicaban los hechos históricos desde el punto de vista de aquella cultura.
En este caso, Mateo evoca la profecía de Oseas (13,16), que se refiere a la destrucción del reino del norte de Israel por los invasores asirios (722 a.C.). Oseas describe la desgracia de su capital (Samaria): cómo sus «niños fueron estrellados» y sus pobladores «pasados a cuchillo». Este episodio sirve como antecedente evocador de muchas matanzas, como la de Séforis, pasada a cuchillo por los nuevos invasores romanos. Mateo alude a Oseas, porque éste asocia la masacre de niños a su profecía de un Mesías que redimiría a Israel. Y como es característico del midrash, también evoca otras profecías afines. Entre ellas, la de Isaías, que se refiere a un niño a quien llamarán Dios y Príncipe de la Paz (9, 6), después que el pueblo vea «una gran luz» (9,2), aludida por el Evangelio como la Estrella-guía. De este modo, Mateo reviste a Jesús con los signos del Mesías anunciado por Isaías, Oseas, Miqueas y Jeremías. Un Enviado que uniría los reinos del norte (Efraim) y del sur (Judá), así como a los desterrados por Asiria y a los esparcidos en Babilonia de todas las tribus de Israel.
La palmera escondida
Entre las 5 mujeres que menciona Mateo en su genealogía de Jesús, la primera es Tamar, nombre que significa «palmera», y la segunda Rahab, mujer de Jericó, una población conocida como «la ciudad de las palmeras». La intención simbólica de Mateo sería recogida por la tradición del Islam en el sura XXI del Corán, según el cual la Virgen María sufrió los dolores del parto bajo una palmera que le alimentó.
El Evangelio nos sitúa así ante un símbolo sagrado común a todas las culturas antiguas para expresar el alcance universal de la misión de Jesús. En Egipto, la palmera datilera aparece asociada a las diosas madres, como Hathor y Nut. En Mesopotamia es el árbol consagrado a la diosa Isthar. En Persia, fue la representació n del Árbol de la Vida. También se vincula con la resurrección, ya que el Fénix hacía su nido en una palmera. Este simbolismo, que recogen Plinio el Viejo y otros autores antiguos, dio lugar a la artesanía ritual de la palma blanca como ofrenda a las diosas madres vírgenes, que después sería transferido a la Virgen María. Su elaboración se conseguía envolviendo las hojas de palma para que no las tocara el Sol masculino y se preservaran así como un atributo femenino puro, relacionado con la concepción virginal. Actualmente, aquella antigua artesanía tiene su último reducto en la ciudad española de Elche, donde un grupo de familias sigue transmitiendo de padres a hijos el arte de tejer ramos y coronas para la Virgen con estas palmas blancas.
Este palmeral histórico de Elche hoy es «Patrimonio de la Humanidad». La misma Humanidad a la que Mateo dirigió su evangelio, más allá de su auditorio judío. Por eso, inicia su genealogía con la misma frase que emplea el Génesis para introducir la descendencia de Adán, aunque sólo se remonte hasta Abraham: «Este es el Libro de las generaciones de Jesucristo». Y por idéntico motivo, Lucas complementó a Mateo en su texto, prolongando su genealogía hasta Adán. Para enfatizar el simbolismo de estas genealogías €“y no para contradecir a Mateo€“, Lucas siguió una línea davídica no real a partir del rey David.
Pero nada de esto excluye que el Evangelio refleje los hechos históricos. Sólo que sus autores entendían la historia como hombres de su tiempo. La Huida a Egipto que aparece en Mateo transmite el simbolismo que hemos expuesto, pero eso no significa que Jesús no viajara a Egipto. En el Talmud judío se le acusa de haber traído de allí conjuros mágicos. En su Discurso contra los cristianos, Celso afirma que fue un pobre emigrante en Egipto, donde habría trabajado como jornalero. El obispo episcopaliano John Shelby Spong, en su libro Jesús, hijo de mujer (Ed. Martínez Roca), también considera que Jesús creció en un medio de pobreza.
¿Nació de una virgen? Mateo se remite a la profecía de Isaías 7, 14-23, pero la toma de la traducción griega de la Biblia. Dicha versión tradujo el término hebreo almah (mujer joven) por el griego parthenos (virgen), cuyo equivalente hebreo es bethulah, no almah. Sin duda, hubo algo irregular en el nacimiento de Jesús. Marcos no menciona ninguna concepción virginal e identifica a Jesús como «el hijo de María», aparte de referirse de pasada a ciertos rumores que rodearon su nacimiento, cuyo contenido él no recoge ni comenta en su texto. El Talmud y Celso lo califican de fruto de un adulterio de María. Y Mateo parece responder a estas acusaciones con las 4 mujeres que la preceden en su genealogía, porque éstas tienen en común una imagen estigmatizada desde el punto de vista de las costumbres judías, pero también fueron objeto de una injusticia manifiesta o bien víctimas inocentes de las circunstancias. Cada uno es libre de dar crédito a la fuente que encuentre más fiable. Unos creen en el milagro de la concepción virginal, otros ven en el símbolo de «la virgen de Dios» una verdad espiritual que no se refiere a una realidad física y hasta hay quienes hacen juicios de intención, atribuyendo a Mateo la voluntad oportunista de ganarse a los paganos habituados al mito de la madre virgen de un dios-hombre.
En cualquier caso, resulta significativo que Mateo no recoja en su genealogía a ninguna de las madres impecables de Israel desde el punto de vista étnico €“Sara, Raquel y Lía€“, sino sólo a esas 4 mujeres estigmatizadas y extranjeras, provenientes de linajes considerados malditos por los judíos, como los moabitas (Ruth) y cananeos (Tamar y Rahab), o bien sometidos al vasallaje como los hititas (Betsabé). ¿Quiso representar Mateo en esas mujeres los 4 brazos de la cruz histórica de María? ¿Era una mujer sin linaje? ¿Acaso una humilde espigadora que recogía la sobras de la cosecha caminando detrás de los jornaleros como Ruth?
El círculo de los gentiles
Probablemente, el nacimiento no ocurrió en Belén de Judá. Esta localización parece simbólica y apunta a identificar a Jesús con el Mesías esperado por los judíos, para quienes debía ser descendiente de David, cuya cuna legendaria era Belén. Pero también en este punto el Evangelio parece inspirado, ya que, en el oráculo primitivo hebreo, la profecía de Miqueas 5,3 no mencionaba a Belén, sino a Efrata. Y este nombre evoca a Efraim, una de las denominaciones que la Biblia emplea para referirse al reino del norte de Israel, destruido en el siglo VIII a.C. por los asirios, al que había pertenecido la región que fue conocida como Galilea en los días de Jesús.
Las otras denominaciones bíblicas de este reino del norte fueron «reino de Israel», «reino de José» €“nombre evocador de Egipto a través de este hijo de Jacob, casado con una hija del sacerdote egipcio Potifera€“ y Samaria. Jesús destacó como defensor de esta población despreciada por mestiza y herética. Más aun: junto al pozo de Jacob se presentó ante la mujer samaritana como el Mesías que ella esperaba, según Juan. Eso indica que Jesús se identificó con el Taheb, el Mesías samaritano. De modo que Belén pudo ser una localización simbólica del midrash, a través de la cual se proyectaba el hecho de que Jesús había nacido en Efraim (Efrata), región que había incluido a Galilea y cuya capital fue Samaria, otro nombre dado al reino del norte en la Biblia.
Ninguna de estas circunstancias merma grandeza a Jesús, aunque le añada sufrimiento a ese «varón de dolores» que había profetizado Isaías. ¿No era acaso lo propio del Mesías de los pobres y humillados un nacimiento irregular y calumniado, en medio de la pobreza y en un rincón oscuro de la remota Galilea, despreciada por los judíos de Jerusalén como tierra mestiza? Hasta el nombre de esta región donde estaba Nazareth (Galil hoyim), tenía connotaciones evidentes de «impureza racial», puesto que significaba «círculo de los gentiles».
La Huida transmite otro mensaje importante que, en general, ha sido interpretado sólo desde una perspectiva judía ortodoxa. Mateo habría comunicado con dicho episodio que Jesús era el nuevo Moisés, evocando con este midrash el episodio bíblico en el cual el faraón ordena ahogar en el Nilo a los niños varones de Israel. Sin embargo, cabe preguntarse si su intención no fue aludir también a otro antecedente bíblico que no pudo pasarle inadvertido, porque encaja mucho mejor con la masacre de Belén: la matanza de niños edomitas perpetrada por Joab, general del rey David, que estuvo a punto de dejar sin varones a Edom (I Reyes, 11). De este cruel genocidio sólo se salvó el pequeño príncipe Hadad, que huyó a Egipto para regresar siendo hombre y proclamar la independencia de Edom. Así se cumplía la promesa que Yavhé había hecho a Esaú, primogénito de Isaac y padre de Edom, despojado de su derecho como heredero en beneficio de su hermano menor Jacob (Israel).
Hay una evidente simetría entre la matanza de Belén ordenada por el idumeo Herodes €“Idumea nació de Edom€“ para eliminar a un supuesto heredero davídico (Jesús) y la de Joab, ordenada por David para eliminar al heredero de Edom. ¿Simbolizó Herodes el Grande la venganza de Edom en el midrash de Mateo? ¿Empezó su vida Jesús expiando este pecado de Israel y cumpliendo desde su nacimiento esa función mesiánica que había profetizado Isaías?
Los edomitas se consideraban descendientes de Ismael (padre de los árabes), a través del matrimonio de una de sus hijas, llamada Bashemat, con Esaú. Ismael también había sido despojado de sus derechos en beneficio de su hermano menor Isaac, ya que era el primogénito de Abraham, el primer nombre en la genealogía de Jesús que nos transmite Mateo.
En I Reyes también se narra otra Huida a Egipto: la de Jeroboam, efrateo de Sereda, hijo de Nabat. El profeta Ajías le anunció que fundaría el reino del norte como líder de 10 de las 12 tribus de Israel y Salomón quiso matarlo (I Reyes, 11). Como sucedió con Hadad, Jeroboam también encontró refugio en Egipto, de donde regresó para independizar a Israel del reino de Judá.
Sin duda, existe una base sólida para pensar que el Evangelio recoge un hecho histórico importante que pudo tomar forma de proyecto mesiánico en la época de Jesús. Todas las profecías bíblicas que evoca se sitúan en la época de la destrucción del reino del Norte (siglo VIII a.C.). También anuncian a un Mesías libertador, que un profeta del norte como Oseas (1, 11) identifica simbólicamente con Jezreel, de quien nos dice que «su día será grande» y que unirá a Efraim (norte) y Judá (sur) bajo «una sola cabeza». Incluso presenta imágenes muy sugerentes en relación a Jesús: «al tercer día nos resucitará y viviremos delante de él» (Oseas 6,2).
A su vez, Isaías y Miqueas, profetas del sur y contemporáneos de Oseas, aluden a los mismos hechos, aunque destacan que el Mesías vendría del tronco de Isaí (padre de David), como nueva «rama», «vara» o «renuevo». La Raquel que llora a sus hijos en Ramá €“también evocada en el Evangelio€“, proviene de Jeremías y también alude a la destrucción del reino del norte.
Una posibilidad es que estemos ante los vestigios de un hecho histórico: la proclamación de un Mesías galileo, enviado por Dios como representante de todos esos linajes nacidos de primogénitos despojados, que habían dado lugar a distintos pueblos semitas emparentados entre sí y que tenían en Abraham su padre común. En este caso, el Mesías galileo debía nacer simbólicamente en Belén para tomar el relevo del linaje davídico, como en su día David (de la tribu de Judá) había tomado el testigo de la función real, que hasta entonces había recaído en el rey Saúl, de la tribu de Benjamín. Por eso, una vez ungido, David desposó a Mikal, hija del depuesto Saúl. Por lo tanto, el nacimiento simbólico en Belén pudo ser un equivalente de la boda de David con Mikal: la forma en que el nuevo ungido de Dios tomaba el relevo al frente del pueblo elegido, legitimándose como sucesor al asumir un vínculo con el linaje desplazado que simbolizaba la continuidad sagrada.
Este recurso es un tópico bíblico recurrente. Dios quita con frecuencia los privilegios otorgados a un individuo o a un linaje y los da a otros. También es importante advertir que, en el evangelio de Juan, Jesús replica a los saduceos que el Mesías no tiene por qué pertenecer al linaje de David, puesto que éste le reconoce como «Señor de mi Señor». A su vez, en la Epístola a los hebreos se compara a Jesús con la figura legendaria de Melquisedec, el misterioso rey de Salem, de quien se nos dice que no tenía padre ni linaje, pero a quien Abraham había reconocido como al sacerdote perfecto y pagado el diezmo. Hebreos afirma que, como Melquisedec, Jesús está por encima de cualquier linaje humano porque su autoridad emana de «una vida indestructible» . Por ello, este texto cristiano funda la Nueva Alianza sobre el Orden de Melquisedec y sostiene que es superior al aarónico-levítico de Judá.
Todo sugiere que Jesús pudo ser un Mesías galileo que proclamó un ambicioso proyecto de unificación nacional, mucho más amplio del que estaban dispuestos a admitir los judíos del sur. Debía llegar cumpliendo la profecía en la cual Dios había anunciado: «De Egipto llamaré a mi Hijo». Y todas las fuentes €“incluso las hostiles€“ indican que residió allí, porque ésta era la tierra de origen de todos los descendientes de Abraham. Dicho proyecto mesiánico pudo incluir a todas las tribus de Israel (Jacob), a la población «mestiza» del reino del norte (Galilea y Samaria) y, tal vez, a ismaelitas (árabes), idumeos (edomitas), y nabateos, que descendían de otra hija de Ismael casada con Esaú.
El origen de la Nueva Alianza
En los días de Jesús el reino nabateo de Siria vivió sus años de mayor esplendor (entre el 6 a.C. y el 40 d.C). El Evangelio afirma que Juan el Bautista fue asesinado por Herodes Antipas porque éste denunció su matrimonio con Herodías. Al unirse a ésta, Herodes abandonó a su primera esposa, hija del rey nabateo Aretas. Flavio Josefo sostiene que Herodes Antipas mandó matar a Juan «porque soliviantaba el pueblo». Nada impide que el motivo incluyese, precisamente, esa afrenta a los primos nabateos, motivo por el cual el rey Aretas atacó y derrotó a Herodes Antipas en el año 36. Siria fue un lugar de asentamiento de las comunidades mandeas del Jordán, como la del Bautista.
Otro indicio que señala en la misma dirección es que Siria, Samaria y otros territorios vecinos, sirvieron de refugio a los cristianos cuando huyeron de la primera gran persecución desatada en Jerusalén. Esto prueba que allí existía una base social favorable en los años inmediatos a su crucifixión. Por motivos cronológicos obvios, ese clima social favorable tuvo que cimentarse en vida de Jesús.
¿Estamos ante indicios de cuál fue el auténtico origen histórico de la Nueva Alianza entre Dios y la Humanidad? ¿Nos transmite la Natividad de Mateo el hecho histórico que sirvió de embrión a la religión universal del cristianismo, recogido por Lucas al prolongar de forma intencionada su propia genealogía de Jesús hasta Adán?
De algo podemos estar seguros: se trata de un escenario muy probable a la luz de las fuentes disponibles.

Nov 04: I should mention that we are currently passing through a series of notable "Mayan phi points" (golden ratio) stemming from late 2009-early 2010.
Those involve two deadly quakes - Haiti and Chile - both of which unmistakably pentagrammic thus alluding to the Golden Ratio fractally expressed in the geometry of the pentagram.
Because Haiti & Chile were also designed to align and work together, its possible that key event(s) around November 6-7 will end up resonating with what's coming up around November 24 or Thanksgiving/Turkey Day. Or, since the latter is already resonating with the quake disaster in "Turkey" (Oct 23/Norway phi point), there may potentially be another such event or some other form of "echo" around ~Nov 7. Quite speculative, but worth monitoring.
There is of course a larger context and Comet Elenin/Lucifer's remarkable "punch line" is yet to be revealed... but that's for another time.

Half of 47 is 23.5, the earths axis tilt. Those numbers were important to the Egyptians, as well as a host of other numbers such as 52, 6.5, 37, 11, etc. All these numbers are incorporated into the pyramids at giza as well as stonehenge, machu pichu and almost every pyramid in mexico and south america.
Our planetary path around the sun is represented by the number 47 as well. 4 weeks of 7 days. 47. 52 weeks divided by 4 =13. 1+3=4, 5+2=7... 47. A true Lunar calendar consists of 364 days, with a small fraction left over to be adjusted. 3+6+4=4, 364 divided by 52=7, again... 47.
Then there's this one no one thinks about. 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day. 666.
Also, Venus lies within 47 degrees of the sun and it's elongation reaches a maximum of 47.8 degrees...

UFO crash in Roswell New Mexico July 7th 1947. New Mexico is the 47th state in the union. Asteroid #1747 Wright is the first asteroid that was discovered after the alleged Roswell incident, on 7/14/47, exactly 10 days after the news report on 7/4. Wikipedia says that the reason for the asteroid to be named Wright is unknown, though it is obvious that it is named after Wright Field (there are actually two asteroids named after each of the Wright brothers, so it wasn't named after either of them, hence the reason why Wikipedia claims the origin of the name is unknown), the air force base where allegedly the presumed alien bodies and pieces of alien aircraft were taken, over the course of the next couple of days after the initial report. Though it was known as Wright Field in 1947, it is now known as Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It is now the area from where all new top-secret Air Force aircraft technology originates. Our government doesn't seem to have any problems admitting this particular detail, though they certainly deny any extraterrestrial ties to the alleged Roswell incident.

The American 'Great Flood/Deep Impact' - Hurricane Katrina/New Orleans - late August/early September 2005 has all but confirmed this. Simply put, the Katrina 'Deep Impact' was ahalftime marker or the 'mirror' point of the 'Mayan countdown'.

Interesting relationship between volumes of the 1st (Khufu) and the 2nd (Khafre) pyramid: If volume of the Great Pyramid (Khufu) is equal 1, volume of the Khafre’s pyramid (to the scale) is 0.848. If volume of Earth is equal 1, volume of Venus (to the same scale) is 0.857. …In other words, both volume relationships are different by just 1% (1.01056).
According to the incredibly sophisticated and accurate calendar of the Maya from Central America, one of the most mysterious ancient civilizations rivaling ancient Egypt, we are currently living in the 'fifth age of the sun' which began on August 12, 3114 BC -- a date designated the 'Birth of Venus'. According to Mayan tradition, the previous four ages ended in great cataclysms, leaving only a small number of survivors, not unlike the biblical tale of Noah. This arcane view certainly makes us curious and somewhat nervous about the projected ending date of the current, the fifth, age of the sun. When one finds out when this termination point actually is, the nervousness shoots up into the realm of worry. The Mayan calendar is now even beginning to enter the public consciousness at large, as this very subject was, for example, a key theme incorporated into the final episode of the popular 'paranormal' TV show The X-Files aired May 19, 2002. As we get closer to the ending date of the calendar, we are sure to hear a lot more about it from various sources.
On '9-11', the world -- and especially the US, the New World -- has realized just how a seemingly stable and proud system or world view can be made so fragile and overwhelmed in one day. The possibility of the world crumbling into total chaos is no longer a farfetched movie scenario but a uncomfortably realistic prospect. And just in time for this paradigm shift, the world is to be made aware that 'the end of the world' as foreseen by the Maya is rapidly approaching us. On December 22, 2012, about ten years from now, the timeline of the 'fifth age of the sun' will terminate. The redden sun has reached the western horizon and is about to go under.
What does this mean? Are we talking about a literal annihilation of human civilization or could it be more metaphorical? No one really knows. It is my view, however, and it is sensible, that the more insights we have into the situation/pattern, the more metaphorical the manifestation of the projected pattern will be. Or in simpler terms -- more preparation, less damage.
I am not writing this article out of fear or survivalist mentality, however. (I am not one of those who animalistically think survival is/should be our highest priority.) Instead, I was prompted to write this piece because I detected a significant pattern that coherently links the underlying esoteric themes of today's events discussed in my previous articles and the Mayan calendar. While I had originally been viewing the projected ending date as something conceptually akin to the equinoxes/solstices -- in that they astronomically yield specific dates but only approximately mark the change of seasons -- the new findings have pushed me to reconsider my position and theorize that the calendar is counting down to a specific event of profound importance.
The '9-11' event, it now appears, was only a part of the sequence of events leading up to a culmination in/around 2012.
Two Suns, Two Years
It was prophetic Quatrains X-72 and II-41 of Nostradamus, curiously enough, that helped me 'see the light'.
As explained in depth before in my previous articles (The Labour of the Sun and Rex Deux), X-72's infamous line, '1999 seven months', could actually denote '2001 September' for certain calendrical reasons, and the whole quatrain, when decoded, would directly relate to the '9-11' attacks. (See Labour for detail.)

The curious 2-year offset between 1999 and 2001 observed here was found to be nicely reflected by various other aspects. For instance, we had the huge 'II' shape (i.e. '2') of the WTC twin towers, and the twin nature of Hercules, the mythological character associated with the antediluvian/'Atlantean' pillars which in turn were discerned to be analogous to the WTC towers. Hercules in particular was found to be of great metaphoric significance for 9-11 -- because just as '11' was a key number encoded in the whole event (i.e. an airplane Flight 11 crashing into a 110-story towers visually forming '11' on the 11th day of the month, etc.), it was during Hercules' '11th labor' that he directly interacted with Atlas (the first king of Atlantis) in Greek mythology -- thus reinforcing the view that the 'Pillars of Hercules' (= 'Atlantean' pillars) represent the archetypal WTC towers.Hercules being a personification of the sun, moreover, resonates well with the fact that the Egyptian death-god Osiris was both associated with the black sun and described as the 'Lord of Terror' as in the 'King of terror' of X-72. The correlation becomes stronger when added that there was a major total solar eclipse (i.e. a 'black sun') in August of 1999 (= '1999'+'7 months', as per X-72). Also, similarly, the Great Sphinx represented both the embodiment of the sun and the 'Father of Terror'.
From these associations, it was inferred that Hercules was both a 'twin' and the 'sun'. And this brought us to the next phase of interpretation involving Quatrain II-41. First, it was determined that Hercules represented, at least in our context, a form of 'double sun'. This was supported by the sphinx, associated with Hercules, traditionally found in pairs -- thus signifying 'two suns'. And 'two sun' could be reasonably interpreted as 'two years' to corroborate the '2-year offset scheme' of X-72. After this, we were naturally led to II-41, one of the quatrains I had personally considered applicable to our own era, long before 9/11. Line 2 of the quatrain reads 'the cloud will make two suns appear'.
Century II - 41 La grand' estoille par sept jours bruslera, Nuee fera deux soleils apparoir: Le gros mastin toute nuit hurlera, Quand grand pontife changera de terroir. The great star will burn for seven days, The cloud will make two suns appear: The large mastiff will howl all night When the great pontiff changes his abode.
Lines 1 and 2 complement the correlation as these strongly evoke the 'great star' (the brightest star) Sirius. It is commonly known as the 'Dog Star' as in 'the large mastiff' (Line 3), and in ancient Egypt the star was called Sept, which in turn would denote 'seven' as in 'seven days' (Line 1). Also, as explained in Labour, Sirius' heliacal rising -- an extremely important astronomical event for the ancient Egyptians -- signified 'the 1st day of the 1st month of Thoth', which was the New Year's Day of the ancient Egyptian calendar. During the early Christian times this special day took place on the Gregorian September 11th, and this caused the Coptic/Christian-Egyptian (as well as Ethiopian) calendar to fix its New Year's Day on September 11 (Gregorian), and this is the case to this day. Sirius, alluded to by II-41, is therefore very much linked to what has now become a date of infamy, '9-11'. This consequently implies that the initial 'double sun' correlation was indeed valid.
As for Line 4 which indicates a change of the papacy, it was pointed out that the current pope, John Paul II, is given the motto 'De Labore Solis' ('From the Labor of the Sun') by St. Malachy's prophetic list of popes. (I personally tend to agree with the view that this remarkably accurate prophetic list was actually composed by Nostradamus.) Needless to say, the motto not only conforms to the underlying 'sun' theme, but it even resonates specifically with the aforementioned 'labor of Hercules' (since Hercules = sun) the 11th of which was found inseparable from the 9-11 event! Moreover, the motto has also been interpreted to denote 'Of the Eclipse of the Sun' (indeed, JPII was born during an eclipse) -- in which case, it would again congruently conform to the 'black sun' theme and the total solar eclipse of August 1999. So, it was confirmed on multiple levels that there was a strong connection between II-41, X-72, and the 9/11 terrorism.
The prophetic implication of this was that Pope JPII would be replaced by a new pope in the very near future to coincide with the aftermath of 9-11. And seemingly as a foreshadow, the Church, especially in the US, suddenly found itself in serious trouble as we entered the year 2002 (i.e. the sexual abuse scandal). At first, I was just amused to see the apparent manifestation of the projected pattern and wondered how it would culminate in the exit of JPII. Then, something got my attention and it caused a shift in my perspective. I began to see a bigger picture as well a more focused context and pattern for the on-going world events.
Seeing the Light
The more I looked into the 9-11 event, the more 'prophetic' it became -- both in the sense that it strongly interacted with 'prophecies' made in the past and the sense that the event itself was a coded 'prophecy' for the future. And as I became more aware of the latter implication, I noticed something that I felt I should have noticed long time ago. This was that by adding '11' -- the encoded key number of 9/11 -- to the year of the event, 2001, one would get '2012', which is none other than the ending date of the Mayan calendar.
Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. But consider the following. Just as the number '11' is found to be inseparable from the sun, so is the Mayan calendar which, as ingeniously decoded by researcher Maurice Cotterell, essentially represents a time-keeping system for the sun, the sunspot activity, which is known to have an 11-year cycle! The fact that the Mayan calendar was also used to calculate and predict solar eclipses adds to the coherence as we have already noted the prophetic significance of the 1999 total eclipse.
In The Mayan Prophecies (1995), Cotterell revealed his remarkable theory that the strange rhythm of the Mayan calendar, which had perplexed all other investigators, actually corresponded with the complex cycles of the solar magnetic fields which in turn would produce 'sunspots', the dark spots on the surface of the sun.
It is scientifically known that those sunspots spew out a lot of ions (charged particles) and affect the magnetic field of the earth. More sunspots means more electrical stuff/'solar wind' (solar flares and coronal mass ejections) emitted outward to bombard the earth's magnetosphere. (The most visible effect of this would be the aurora lights). Every 11 years, the sun reaches a 'solar maximum', which is when the number of sunspots peaks, or when the sun is the most active. Presently, in fact, we are undergoing the solar maximum of 'Cycle 23' -- though the peak was 'officially' reached in mid-2000. This means that the next solar maximum will be around 2012, the Mayan 'end date'!
What made the correlation even more satisfying was the fact that the Mayan calendar was intimately linked to the planet Venus -- as evidenced by the fact that the starting date of the Calendar (Aug 13, 3114 BC) is called 'the Birth of Venus'. In esoteric tradition, Venus (along with Sirius) is symbolized by a pentagram (five-pointed star). The pentagram is obviously related geometrically to the pentagon -- and the 'Pentagon' is of course none other than the third building hit in the 9/11 attacks.
What about the 2-year/'double-sun' offset scheme that has been prophetically linked to 9/11? Remarkably, we learn that the nature of the current solar maximum perfectly echoes this strange theme. First, astronomers have noted that Cycle 23 active at the present has a rare double-peak maximum. It was initially observed that the solar intensity crested, rather prematurely, in April 2000 or so. And then, in early 2002, astronomers started to notice that the sunspots were increasing again seemingly to a equally (if not more) pronounced second peak, almost exactly 2 years after the first peak. So, not only is it a 'double sun' maximum, the twin peaks are even 'two suns' (2 years) apart! This is a strong sign that we are onto something here.
Actually, as if these weren't enough, we also find that there was a clear 'spike' in the sunspot activity in the month of '9/11' as the graph (right) shows.
The more we look, the more we realize that there is a close relationship between the 'prophetic' events of our time and the changing conditions of our sun.
What could all this mean?
It wasn't long before I began to see further patterns and specific implications. I was to be exposed to a very clear 'signal', a 'message', that could show us what would likely transpire in the immediate future.
The Equidistant Sequence
I made a simple timeline on a sheet of paper and then drew in the two 'double-sun' schemes -- that is, the pair of X-72 (~Aug. 1999) and 9/11/01 separated by 2 years, and the Cycle 23 maximum peaks similarly separated by 2 years (Apr. 2000 and ~Apr. 2002).
This helped me visualize better the chronological mismatch between the two periods. Although I had inferred that the two 'double sun' events were connected, these overlapping periods were offset by 8 months. Why? Was this some unintended distortion in the 'design' or was this a directive misalignment leading us to the next revelation? I had to explore the latter possibility as I knew from experience that this approach would often lead to productive results. It was warranted especially in this case as there was still a sense of intelligent design in the offset -- '8 months' was exactly one third of '2 years'. And so I studied the timeline closely to see if there was a further pattern just beneath the 'surface'.
After some thinking, I recalled that there was another major event that I had already interpreted to be part of the 'double sun' theme. This was the 2000 US presidential election -- an event that produced two winners or two 'suns'. The designation of the 'sun' here was supported by the fact that, for example, the eye of the storm that was the 2000 election was Florida, the 'Sunshine State'. Also, in a previous article I identified Clinton as a version of Amenhotep III (historical Solomon) which made his successor a version of Akhenaten (the Egyptian king who followed Amenhotep III), often called the 'Sun King'. (The 'two presidents' therefore had become analogous to 'two suns'. See The Two Suns of Election MM for more details.)
Subsequently, I realized that the timing of this event was right in the middle of the combined timeframe of the other two 'double sun' events. In fact, it was placed at the dead center. To visualize it better, I marked it on the timeline -- and immediately emerged a great sense of order. Then it hit me: this third 'double sun' event (Dec. 2000) was offset ~8 months from the nearest marked events on both sides. This meant, in other words, that all of the events in the combined sequence, five in all, were equally distanced, 8-month apart!
What made this more remarkable was the fact that the rotation period of Venus, the planet intimately associated with the Mayan calendar, is 243 earth-days -- that is, almost exactly 8 months! (30x8=240.) Even Venus' orbital period around the sun turned out to be 225 earth days (7.5 months), very close to 8 months. [Update: the number '225' reinforces the the 9-11 connection in that 2001 was the 225th year from the birth of US, 1776!] Additionally, there was the complementary fact that the 'tzolkin' cycle of 260 days was an essential element of the Mayan calendar -- actually corresponding to the cycle of the interaction between the polar and equatorial magnetic fields of the sun (as pointed out by Cotterell).
These correlations strongly suggested to me that I was on the right track, and encouraged me to proceed further.
Contextual Resonance
To find more encoded patterns, I turned my attention to the first of the 'double sun' sequence composite taking place circa Aug. 1999. This was a conceptual 'preview' of its 'second peak' 2 years later, namely the 9/11 attacks. And this was not only in terms of X-72. Recently in May 2002, it was revealed that the first of the warnings about the coming major terrorist attack, i.e. '9/11', emerged in September 1999, exactly 2 years before 9/11.
So I naturally wondered if this same concept could be applied to the twin peaks of Cycle 23.
First, I had to refresh my memory regarding the world events at the time of the first solar peak in the spring/summer of 2000. Internationally, the major news around that time was the successive collapses of the critical Israel-Palestine peace talks in Israel and later at Camp David (US) mediated by Clinton and Albright (viewed as "the last chance for peace"). Semi-internationally, dominating the news in the same timeframe was the saga of the 'Cuban boy' Elian Gonzales in US who was eventually returned to Cuba. And Cuba was also a significant place esoterically in the summer of 2000 as it was then that the enigmatic underwater 'city' off the west coast of Cuba, widely speculated to be the ruins of 'Atlantis', was first discovered (investigation still continuing). So, it appeared that the first Cycle-23 peak was very 'Cuban' in nature and related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Now it was time to see if the second sunspot peak reflected, or actualized, the 'warning' of the first. Since the second peak is taking place right now (spring/summer of 2002), we can actually just look around to see if this may be the case. Though the time 'window' is still open as of this writing, we have already witnessed a political focus suddenly placed on Cuba in May. First, there was the historic visit of ex-President Carter to Cuba, which was then closely followed by President Bush addressing the Cuban-Americans in Florida, giving a speech on US-Cuba relations. And then the March and April of 2002 saw a major crisis in Israel, which was so severe that the rest of the world was also polarized and a lot of violence ensued. And we can also add that investigators are returning to the Cuban-"Atlantean" underwater city for more data in the same timeframe, and strangely the captured Taliban/Al Qaeda members are being held at 'Camp X-Ray' in Cuba.
So, it appeared to me that there was indeed a conceptual echo effect between the two sunspot peaks. But what about the current crisis of the Church coinciding with the second peak? It turns out that this does have important 'prophetic' implications, as we will see.
Extended Projection
Based on the empirical observations, it may be inferred that the 2000 US presidential election will have an 'echo' exactly 2 years later and this is scheduled to take place at the end of 2002.
What can this anticipated event be? Obviously, the implication is that there is to be some kind of election/voting that involves a major leader, or simply a change of leadership. One possibility is that the US will have a new president at/around the end of 2002.
[Update: In December 2002, Republican Senate majority leader Trent Lott, i.e. the leader of President Bush's political party, stepped down unexpectedly amid a big controversy that erupted after he made a seemingly racist statement in the same month. By vote, Bill Frist was quickly elected as new leader of the Republican party.]
Another possibility, which I consider more likely, is that we will see the exit of Pope John Paul II and the election of the next pope. This derives from the close parallel detected between US presidency and the papacy at this moment in history, as discussed in the Two Suns article -- after all, both are inseparable from Quatrain II-41. And especially because the last line of II-41 states: "When the great pontiff changes his abode".
[Update: Indeed, in accordance with the suspected parallel, the same period of December 2002 also saw the resignation of Cardinal Law of Boston Archdiocese (who is specifically named in this article below). It is very interesting that although the US President and the Pope survived the 'December window', the leaders just below them (Lott and Law) did make their exit concurrently. Certainly, then, we did indeed experience "a change of leadership" in the US and the Church in this December.]
It should also be pointed out that the prophetic motto assigned to Pope JPII, 'of the Labor of the Sun', directly associates him with the current solar maximum which indeed is a 'labored' state of the sun. Combined with the pronounced twin peaks of Cycle 23 (i.e. 'double sun'), it seems inevitable that JPII comes to be involved in the current cycle... probably by making his exit.
There is another reason why the papacy/Church is likely to 'fulfill' the 2-year offset 'echo' of the 2000 presidential election. For this, we need to project the sequence backwards just one step toward the past. By subtracting '8 months' from the first event, Aug. 1999 (X-72), we arrive at December 1998. Importantly, this is exactly two years away from the presidential election -- thus effectively making it a 'reverse-echo' event. So what happened in December 1998? The answer is: the historic impeachment of President Clinton. Needless to say, there is strong resonance here; after all, the impeachment was conceptually close to the presidency ending. This was the little 'preview' of the succeeding events in the 2-year cycle.
Now, what is important here is what led to Clinton's impeachment. It was, of course, the president's sexual misconduct (involving a young intern, Monica Lewinsky), the news of which broke in January of the same year (on Drudge Report). Therefore, if we are to expect an amplified 'echo' in/around December 2002 of the 'impeachment', it is reasonable to theorize that it is also to be preceded by a similar (but more serious) development, i.e. a serious sexual scandal. Could it be just coincidence that we are currently having the developing story of the sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests? The current scandal even began in January when Father Geoghan was convicted of sexually abusing a boy on January 18 (the news of Clinton's sex scandal broke on Jan. 19, '98). This strongly suggests that things are moving toward the 'impeachment' (i.e. the end) of the leadership of the Church, i.e. the Pope, near the end of 2002. (Although it is also possible to interpret the 'leader' as an American Cardinal namely Cardinal Law of Boston).
[Update: As already mentioned, Cardinal Law, named above, did step down in December 2002, in precise accordance with the projection! In retrospect, it appears that the 'echo effect' in this December window was not an 'amplified' but downgraded (by just one step) event. Did the number of people aware of the pattern reached a critical mass to slightly alter the pattern?]
Personally, I find it very unlikely that Pope JPII will stay in his office beyond 2002 (spring of 2003 at the latest), because as the 'Labor of the Sun'/'Solar Max' pope, it won't be symbolically very coherent for him to make his exit when the sun has become quiet. As he came into this world during a solar eclipse (another manifestation of the expression 'labor of the sun'), it would be symmetrically sound for him to exit in a similar symbolic context. My bet, therefore, is on the current development leading directly or indirectly to the pope leaving the office later this year. And it is very possible, as explained in my previous articles, that the subsequent papal election will produce 'two suns', either by ending up with two contenders claiming to be the pope, or something else similar in concept.
'It's the End of the World as We Know It, and I Feel Fine.'
Looking back, the controlled demolition of the Russian space station Mir in spring 2001 was eerily prophetic in that the name Mir means 'peace' and thus the end of Mir symbolically denoted the 'end of peace', which indeed was to be the case just several months later on 9/11. I was actually very much aware of this doomy symbolism of the planned destruction of Mir as early as 1999. In the Two Suns article, for example, I wrote: "since the name Mir means 'peace', the end of Mir has the ominous symbolic implication of the 'end of peace'". And I had also noted that "the name Solomon, deriving from salaam, [also] means 'peace'". This is important for in the same article I conceptually equated both Clinton and Pope JPII with Solomon (or Amenhotep III). Hence the 'end of peace' predicted by Mir and realized on 9/11 was also hinting atthe imminent 'end of Pope John Paul II'. And congruently, we have earlier compared the pope's end to the 'end' (i.e. impeachment) of the other 'Solomon', Clinton.
Even more ominously, the term 'Mir' can also denote 'world', which means that the destruction of Mir was also the 'end of the world'. Perhaps this implication is applicable to the next solar maximum (Cycle 24) in 2012, when the world ends according to the Mayan calendar. It may be inferred that the sequenced events of the Cycle 23 solar max represent the 'watered down'/metaphoric preview of what is take place with the next peak of the sun that will in effect end the world.
My take on the coming 'end of the world' is this. Based on the 'message' of Cycle 23, it is possible to infer that what is to end in the next solar cycle, 24, would be the United States and the Catholic Church -- the two that have come to parallel each other in a prophetic context. In line with this interpretation, the pope list of St. Malachy has only two (possibly one) more popes to go after the current one. And as for America, I have other tangible data (which I won't discuss here) that strongly suggests that the United States' time is up at the beginning of the 21st century. Basically here is how I tend to look at the situation: the United States and the Church hit the iceberg during the peak of Cycle 23 (2001 +/-2 yr) and are now taking on water; and by the time of the peak of Cycle 24 around 2012, these titanic 'ships' will have gone vertical, sinking straight down to the bottom of the abyss. I'm not saying that these systems will cease to exist completely, but I would say at least their 'essence' will not be in existence soon after the end of this decade.
There is, however, a little light of hope in all this. The function of Mir did not simply cease to exist; it was smoothly passed on to a new space station, the ISS (International Space Station) which is currently under construction and orbiting the earth. In other words, the symbolic message seems to be that this is a time when the 'old world' ends and the 'new world' begins. This is a time of transition, not the end. It is certainly fitting that the name 'ISS' is reminiscent of 'ISIS', the Egyptian goddess of rebirth and the personification of Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. Indeed, as already mentioned, the day of the 'rebirth' (heliacal rising) of Sirius would correspond to the symbolic 'end date', 9/11. Like the phoenix, then, from the ashes of destruction is to rise the next incarnation to usher in the new age. (Here we come, Mars!)
Perhaps we are to learn from the 'message of Cycle 23' so that the 'end of the world' that the coming peak of Cycle 24 is scheduled to bring about will not necessarily have to be so literal. The more we become aware, the less physical/literal the manifestation of the pattern becomes. [Update: Was this concept demonstrated in December 2002?] Mankind, as is the sun, is in labor, and the best we can do is to properly prepare - mentally, physically, emotionally, and intellectually - for the inevitable. The pain will grow in intensity, but it won't have to be deadly. It's just that it's darkest before dawn.

I would like to comment on the founder's name: Setne Khamuast, whose name means "Set is Beautiful, a Power Appears in Thebes." Most books will tell you that the name Setne just means Sem Priest. Better books will mention that Setne was the poetic description of the leopard skin, but neglect to say anything about Set. Setne is the name for the leopard skin that Sem Priests wore during the Opening of the Mouth Ceremony. It was the garment they wore to visit the Pool of Kepheru to bring back the deceased and to gain their own power.
