Precisó el especialista que desde 1988 se realizaron casi seis mil estudios hemodinámicos, de estos cerca de mil casos fueron cateterismos intervencionistas (cirugía cardiovascular de mínimo acceso que puede -en la mayoría de los casos- evitar la intervención quirúrgica).
Un salto de calidad en la atención integral a los pacientes, lo constituye el Programa de Rehabilitación Cardiovascular, que desde 1992 ha atendido a más de tres mil niños, la mayoría intervenidos quirúrgicamente, el cual ha contribuido a elevar la supervivencia y calidad de vida, puntualizó.
La Red Cardiopediátrica Nacional es el factor determinante de la atención en los niveles primario y secundario del sistema de salud en estrecha con el cardiocentro y prioriza la formación, capacitación y perfeccionamiento del personal.
Cuba ha destinado cuantiosos recursos en la adquisición de tecnología de avanzada, con la cual están dotados esos centros, así como también en la remodelación del cardiocentro William Soler, prevista a concluir en 2007, puntualizó el doctor Casanova Arbola. |
