The Higgs mechanism is a type of superconductivity which occurs in the vacuum. It occurs when all of space is filled with a sea of particles which are charged, or, in field language, when a charged field has a nonzero vacuum expectation value. Interaction with the quantum fluid filling the space prevents certain forces from propagating over long distances (as it does in a superconducting medium; e.g., in the Ginzburg–Landau theory).
A superconductor expels all magnetic fields from its interior, a phenomenon known as the Meissner effect. This was mysterious for a long time, because it implies that electromagnetic forces somehow become short-range inside the superconductor. Contrast this with the behavior of an ordinary metal. In a metal, the conductivity shields electric fields by rearranging charges on the surface until the total field cancels in the interior. But magnetic fields can penetrate to any distance, and if a magnetic monopole (an isolated magnetic pole) is surrounded by a metal the field can escape without collimating into a string. In a superconductor, however, electric charges move with no dissipation, and this allows for permanent surface currents, not just surface charges. When magnetic fields are introduced at the boundary of a superconductor, they produce surface currents which exactly neutralize them. The Meissner effect is due to currents in a thin surface layer, whose thickness, the London penetration depth, can be calculated from a simple model (the Ginzburg–Landau theory).
The most important finding from Ginzburg–Landau theory was made by Alexei Abrikosov in 1957. In a type-II superconductor in a high magnetic field – the field penetrates in quantized tubes of flux, which are most commonly arranged in a hexagonal lattice. The exponential decay of the magnetic field is equivalent with the Higgs mechanism in high-energy physics. Es una simbología relacionada en parte con España. Según la mitología griega, Hércules en su viaje a la Península Ibérica se atrevió a robar la fruta sagrada que cuidaban las Hespérides, hijas de Atlas, fundador de la Atlántida, cumpliendo así la profecía sobre el fin de ese reino de titanes, como estaba anunciado. Este relieve del Museo de Olimpia muestra maravillosamente este episodio. Hércules sujeta el cosmos ayudado por la diosa Atenea, que le pone un almohadón en la espalda, mientras el mismo Átlas le trae las frutas de las Hespérides. Es una versión muy peculiar del mito, pues Átlas coopera en su propia destrucción, y sitúa en España, Hesperia, ese jardín prohibido.
Durante cincuenta años de su vida, el profesor Schulten efectuó investigaciones históricas y arqueológicas en la Península Ibérica en búsqueda de la Atlántida, y los últimos hallazgos parecen apoyar su hipótesis de que el reino andaluz de Tartessos, desaparecido en el siglo VI antes de Cristo, coincidía con la descripción que nos dejó Platón en el Timeo:
“(…) Sabios reyes habían formado en esta Atlántida una vasta y maravillosa potencia que dominaba toda aquella tierra además de otras muchas islas, y algunas comarcas del continente, apoderándose de todas, desde Libia al Egipto, y de Europa hasta Tirrenia (…) Empero sobrevinieron diluvios y terremotos, y en un solo día y en una sola noche fatal, todos aquellos guerreros fueron tragados por la tierra abierta. Desapareció la Atlántida y he aquí por qué aun hoy no se puede recorrer y explorar aquel mar, encontrando la navegación un escollo en el fangoso lodo que dejó la tierra al abismarse”.
La correlación del Toro y la diosa, incluyendo la sangre del Toro siendo entregada a la Luna para la fructificación, también puede ser explicada a través de la coexistencia de su objetivo del procreativo. Cuando la cabeza del Toro es vista desde una perceptiva frontal, su cráneo y cuernos exhiben un asombroso parecido a los órganos uterinos de la hembra humana.

Lion of Saint Mark

The Lion of Saint Mark, representing the evangelist St Mark, pictured in the form of a winged lion,[1] is the symbol of the city of Venice and formerly of the Republic of Venice. It appears also in both merchant and military naval flags of the Italian Republic. The Lion of Saint Mark is also the symbol of the award of the Venice Film Festival, the "Golden Lion", and of the insurance company Assicurazioni Generali.
Other elements often included in depections of the lion include a halo over his head, a book, and a sword in its paws.

Venetian tradition states that when St. Mark was traveling through Europe, he arrived at a lagoon in Venice, where an angel appeared to him and said "Pax tibi Marce, evangelista meus. Hic requiescet corpus tuum." (May Peace be with you, Mark, my evangelist. Here your body will rest.) This (possibly apocryphal) tradition was used as justification by Rustico da Torcello and Bon da Malamocco[2] in 828[3] for stealing the remains of St. Mark from his grave in Alexandria,[4] and moving them to Venice, where they were eventually interred in the Basilica of St. Mark.[5]

St Mark, represented as a lion, is a typical Christian iconography derived from the prophetic visions contained in the verse of the Apocalypse of St John 4: 7. The lion is one of the four living creatures described in the book as a place around the throne of the Almighty and they are chosen as symbols of the four evangelists. These "beings" were previously described by the prophet Ezekiel.
The lion is associated with Mark as a function of the words with which he began his Gospel with reference to St John the Baptist: "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God."
As it is written with the prophet Isaiah: "Behold, I send my messenger ahead of you, he will prepare your way."
The voice of the one who cries in the wilderness: "Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight his paths." (Gospel according to Mark 1:1–3)
John the Baptist wore in the Christian imagination a lion's skin and the evangelic phrase of the voice crying in the wilderness echoes the idea of a roar in the desert.
The lion also symbolizes the power of the Evangelist's word, the wings symbolize the spiritual elevation, while the halo is the traditional Christian symbol of holiness.
However, the lion symbols express also the significance of majesty and power (drawn especially from the upward feline tail), while the book expresses the concepts of wisdom and peace and the halo gives an image of religious piety. The sword, in addition to the meaning
There are many symbolic interpretations with the possible combination of sword and book:
- An open book is a symbol of the state's sovereignty (many depictions are of doges kneeling before such representation);
- A closed book, however, is considered as a symbol of a delegated sovereignty, and hence the public courts;
- An open book (and the sword on the ground is not visible) is popularly considered as a symbol of peace for the state of Venice, but this is not corroborated by any historical source;
- A closed book and a drawn sword are popular but mistakenly considered as a symbol of the state in war;
- Finally, an open book and a sword are considered as a symbol of public justice.
However, these interpretations are not universally accepted as the Republic of Venice (Serenissima) never codified its symbols. Rare, but are presented, are also depictions of the lion without a book or a sword and sometimes without the halo (especially in a representation of a statue).
In some depictions the lion rests his front paws on the ground, often in cities with rivers or in ones close to water, indicating the Venetian balanced power on land and sea.
