Why different civilizations built pyramids?

For thousands of years, the largest structures on Earth were pyramids: the Great Pyramid of Khufu in Egypt, is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still remaining.

Pyramids are being constructed since Upper Paleolithic, about 45,000-10,000 years ago to modern days. The first humans used mammoths’ bones, stones and/or pieces of wood as construction material for their pyramid-like structures.

Pyramids are the most stable constructions, and man learned how to imprint some information on it, writing on its walls, or even by the way they’ve constructed it.

Why were pyramids built?

Basically, ancient Egypt pyramids came from the mastabas, tombs used for the burials of pharaohs and their queens.

The first pyramid was made by stacking a mastaba on top of a slightly larger one. Mastabas were relatively low, rectangular, flat-roofed, roughly bench-shaped burial mounds for the pre-Dynastic pharaohs or nobility. Mastabas, which were made of mud brick or stone, were visible monuments, with the actual burial chamber under ground.

During the fourth dynasty, after the construction of the first pyramid, monuments were erected as a signal of prosperity. Tall, glorious, and expensive structures were built as a testament to the society that they represented, and also the rulers who lead those societies. In Egypt, pyramids were erected as a tribute to the glory of the civilization by the Nile.

Pyramids were also related to the religion of the time, Egyptian pyramids held many personal items of the deceased in preparation for his afterlife.

Some other structures in Central America were used as astronomical observatories and benchmarks.

Many have said that some pyramids are mathematical compendium incorporating all kinds of astronomical and cosmological formulas of each civilization.

Although many of these factual findings and conclusions are related to pseudoscientific research, we may consider formulas incorporated in pyramids as "intentional”.

Contrary to common beliefs, the largest pyramid by volume is not the Great Pyramid of Giza; it is the Cholula pyramid in the state of Puebla.


Known as Tlachihualtepetl (Nahuatl for "artificial mountain"), Cholula is a huge complex located in Mexico. Is the largest archaeological site of a pyramid (temple) in the New World. The pyramid stands 55 meters (180 ft) above the surrounding plain, and in its final form it measured 400 by 400 meters (1,300 by 1,300 ft). The pyramid is a temple that has traditionally been viewed as having been dedicated to the god Quetzalcoatl. The architectural style of the building was closely linked to that of Teotihuacan in the Valley of Mexico.

But of course, Egyptians achieved State-of-the art in matters of pyramids construction.

The name behind the construction of the first pyramid was Imhotep, a priest and physician; credited with many miraculous healings.

Although he achieved great fame during his lifetime, Imhotep's renown continued to grow after his death. He eventually achieved status of a god among Egyptians.

He is best known today as the architect who began the "age of pyramids" in Egypt. He designed and supervised the building of the step pyramid complex at Saqqara, which is believed to be the first colossal stone edifice ever built, but ancient Egypt’s chief attraction still the Great Pyramid of Giza.

It has been said that the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Giza incorporate measurements from which the Earth's size and shape can be calculated, as well as the distance between the Earth and the moon and the distance between the Earth and the sun.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, also called Khufu’s Pyramid or Cheops was built entirely of limestone, and is considered an architectural masterpiece. It contains around 1,300,000 blocks ranging in weight from 2.5 tons to 15 tons and is built on a square base with sides measuring about 230 m (755 ft), covering 13 acres. Its four sides face the four cardinal points precisely and it has an angle of about 51 degrees. The original height of the Pyramid was c.146.5 m (488 ft), but today it is only 137 m (455 ft) high, the 9 m (33 ft) that is missing is due to the theft of the fine quality limestone covering, or casing stones to build houses and Mosques in Cairo.

- The sides of all three of the Giza pyramids were astronomically oriented to be north-south and east-west within a small fraction of a degree;

- Pi

The pyramid of Cheops have a base length of 230,28 m, and a height of 146.6 m. If you take two times the base length, and divide this by the height, you get a value of Pi "3,14161..." the mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter;

- Golden Ratio – Phi

We could also find Golden Section (1:1.618), a unique ratio (or relationship between parts) that seems to be preferred by nature as the best geometry for growth, energy conservation, elegance and has some fundamental relationships to the platonic solids. Al we have to do is divide the length of the base (230.28m) by 2 and then divide it by the apothem (the altitude of a face, from ground to the top);

- Center of Earth

The Pyramid lies in the center of gravity of the continents. It also lies in the exact center of all the land area of the world, dividing the earth's land mass into approximately equal quarters.

The north-south axis (31 degrees east of Greenwich) is the longest land meridian, and the east-west axis (30 degrees north) is the longest land parallel on the globe. There is obviously only one place that these longest land-lines of the terrestrial earth can cross, and it is at the Great Pyramid! This is incredible, one of the scores of features of this mighty structure which begs for a better explanation.

- Perfectly placed stones

The average casing stone on the lowest level was 5 ft. long by 5 ft. high by 6 ft. deep and weighed 15 tons. The casing stones weighing as much as 20 tons were placed with an accuracy of 5/1000ths of an inch, and an intentional gap of about 2/100ths of an inch for mortar;

- From far away

High quality limestone was used for the outer casing, with some of the blocks weighing up to 15 tones. This limestone came from Tura, about 8 miles away on the other side of the Nile. Granite quarried nearly 500 miles away in Aswan with blocks weighing as much as 60-80 tones, was used for the portcullis doors and relieving chambers;

- Chambers above ground level

The Great Pyramid is the only pyramid to have chambers above ground level.


The arrangement of the pyramids is a disputed representation of the Orion constellation. Hancock and Bauval in their book explain that the ‘air’ shafts inside the Great Pyramid aligned to the stars in the Belt of Orion and the pole star around 2500 BC. The southern shaft from the Queens Chamber aligned with the star Sirius at its culmination point on the meridian. This star was very important to the Egyptians and was associated with the mother Goddess Isis. The southern shaft emanating from the Kings Chamber aligned with the brightest star of the Orion Belt Zeta Orionis. This star was associated with the Egyptian God of resurrection and rebirth Osiris! The northern shafts aligned to the ancient pole star Alpha Draconis (Kings Chamber) and to Beta Ursa Minor (Queens Chamber);

- Indicates equinoxes

At dawn and sunset at the time of the equinoxes (around 21 March and 22 Sept), a shadow appears on the south face of the great pyramid, apparently dividing it in half, with the shaded side nearest the sun. The phenomenon occurs because the core-masonry is concave on all four faces by a yard deep. The casing stones that exist show clearly that the finished surface wasn't concave. This strange feature was first illustrated in La Description de l'Egypte in the late 1700's (Volume V, pl. 8). Flinders Petrie noticed a hollowing in the core masonry in the center of each face and wrote that he "continually observed that the courses of the core had dips of as much as ½° to 1°" (The Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh, 1883, p. 421). Though it is apparently more easily observed from the air, the concavity is measurable and is visible from the ground under favorable lighting conditions.

- Pyramid power

There are many pseudoscientific theories in wich pyramids harnesses cosmic energy (or Universal Life Force Energy) and preserves it in its bosom. The idea that using small models of pyramids can improve health, improve the growth of seeds and plants, preserve food, sharpen or maintain the sharpness of razor blades, among others, was initiated in the 1930s by French hardware store owner and pendulum dowsing author Antoine Bovis.

Pyramid should be oriented correctly with one of its face facing the north and the base should be perfectly aligned with the needle of a compass, Cosmic Energy gets more accumulated at 1/3rd height from the base of the Pyramid, the so called King's Chamber region.

In 2005, an episode of MythBusters a test of pyramid power was performed, using pyramids built according to the specifications found in the Great Pyramid. Of course the show busted the myth, but strangely enough a half apple placed under the pyramid rots slower than the half they left in the open, force them to remake the experiment, and they didn’t perform the seed growth experiment (this one always worked in my tests as seen in my 1982 annotations caught on photo).

Pyramid of Chichen Itza in Mexico – one of the new 7 wonders of the World

Mexico amazing historical Pyramid Chichen Itza was constructed by the pre-Columbian Maya someday among the 10th and 13th centuries AD, El Castillo served as a temple to the god Kukulkan, the Yucatec Maya Feathered Serpent deity carefully associated with the deity determine Quetzalcoatl identified to the Aztecs and different important Mexican cultures of the Postclassic period.

Chichen Itza can be a step pyramid with a floor plan of squared terraces with stairways up each of the 4 facets to the temple on top. Nice sculptures of plumed serpents run down the edges of the northern staircase, and are set off by way of shadows from the nook stages at the spring and autumn equinoxes. Chichen Itza, this pyramid has 91 steps on 3 of the perimeters and 92 on the north staircase, which provides as much as 365 steps, or days of the year.

The Mexican executive restored the pyramid in the 1920s and 1930s, concurrent with the Carnegie Establishment’s restoration of the Temple of Warriors. Archaeologists had been in a position to reconstruct two sides of this Chichen Itza pyramid in their entirety.

Through digging from the top, they discovered another temple buried beneath the current one. Within the Chichen Itza temple chamber is a Chac Mool statue and a throne in the shape of jaguar, painted red with spots made from inlaid jade. The Mexican government excavated a tunnel from the base of the north staircase, up the in advance pyramid’s stairway to the hidden temple, and opened it to tourists.


In up to date years, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), which manages the archaeological website online of Chichen Itza, has been final monuments to public access. At the same time as visitors can stroll round them, they may be able to no longer climb them or pass within their chambers. The construction is 24 m high, the square base measures 55.3 m across;

The temple at the top of the pyramid is 6 m high, 13.42 m wide, and 16.5 m long.

The Pyramid of Kukulcan also has some facts imprinted on its structures:

- The days of the year

El Castillo's design is thought to relate to the Mayan calendar. Each of the four faces incorporates a broad, steep staircase consisting of 91 steps that ascends to the top platform. Counting the top platform as an additional step gives a total of 365 steps: 1step for each day of the year.

- Indicates equinoxes

The shadow-serpent appear the slide down the steps of the north balustrade.
The word for a snake's rattle, Tzab, is the same word for the Pleiades. In addition, research by Jose Diaz Bolio indicated that some Yucatecan rattlesnakes have a strange little three-dot marking in a circle near the rattlel. This symbol was read by Bolio as a solar ahau face, a symbol of the sun. Now, when the serpent shadow appears, if we wish to imagine the snake's tail, it must pierce the temple on top of the pyramid (the fifth, central direction-the zenith direction) and then it points up into the center of the sky (see diagram). Since the rattle is called tzab (Pleiades) and the three-dot ahau face design is the sun, the symbolism states unequivocally: sun and Pleiades in the zenith.

This alignment doesn't occur on the equinoxes, but at Chichen Itza it occurs on May 20th in the 21st century. The point is that the pyramid "points", with this symbolism, to an astronomical alignment that occurs in a specific precessional era. As such, the Pyramid of Kukulcan is a precessional star clock constructed in stone.

Pyramids of Louvre



The third pyramid I would like to mention is the Louvre pyramid, a modern large glass and metal pyramid, surrounded by three smaller pyramids, in the main courtyard (Cour Napoléon) of the Louvre Palace. Was commissioned by the President of France François Mitterrand in 1984, it was designed by the architect I. M. Pei.

The pyramid and the underground lobby beneath it were created because of a series of problems with the Louvre's original main entrance, which could no longer handle an enormous number of visitors on an everyday basis. Visitors entering through the pyramid descend into the spacious lobby then re-ascend into the main Louvre buildings. Several other museums have duplicated this concept, most notably the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

- Louvre Pyramides facts:

The Louvre Pyramid is a pyramid with a square base.
Height: 21.65 m
Length of the base: 35 m
Tilt angle: 51.7 degrees;

- The Legend of 666 windows

This legend has its roots back in the 80s, when the official brochure was published, during its construction; it actually cited the number 666. But it was a mistaken number. The direction of the Louvre Museum confirmed that the complete pyramid has a total of 673 glass plates (603 diamonds and 70 triangles).

David A. Shugart, in other hand, counts 689 3. It was made several statements, leading to varying results, all of them presenting more than 666;

La Pyramide Inversée (The Inverted Pyramid)

It is a magnificent skylight, considered a smaller sibling of the more famous Louvre Pyramid, yet turned upside down.

The pyramid marks the intersection of two main walkways and orients visitors towards the museum entrance. Tensioned against a 30-ton, 13.3-meter square steel caisson frame, the inverted pyramidal shape in laminated glass points downward towards the floor. The tip of the pyramid is suspended 1.4 meters (a little more than 4.5 feet) above floor level. Individual glass panes in the pyramid, 30 mm thick, are connected by stainless-steel crosses 381 mm in length. After dark, the structure is illuminated by a frieze of spotlights.

Directly below the tip of the downwards-pointing glass pyramid, a small stone pyramid (about one meter/three feet high) is stationed on the floor, as if mirroring the larger structure above: The tips of the two pyramids almost touch.

Brown was not the first writer to offer esoteric interpretations of the Inverted Pyramid. In Raphaël Aurillac's work Le guide du Paris maçonnique the author declares that the Louvre used to be a Masonic temple. To Aurillac, the various glass pyramids constructed in recent decades include Masonic symbolism. Aurillac sees the downward-pointing pyramid as expressing the Rosicrucian motto V.I.T.R.I.O.L. (Visita Interiorem Terrae Rectificandoque / Invenies Occultum Lapidem, "Visit the interior of the earth and… you will find the secret stone"). Another writer on Masonic architecture, Dominique Setzepfandt, sees the two pyramids as suggesting "the compass and square that together form the Seal of Solomon" (quoted in Code Da Vinci: L'enquête by Marie-France Etchegoin and Frédéric Lenoir),

JMason4557: 93 and 186 are harmonics (x million) of the distance from the Earth to the Sun, and the diameter of the orbit of the Earth around the sun.

The old Gematria system of prehistic numbers are being given in the events, in dreams and in crop circle formations.

This was 36 years prior to the 2001 disaster. 36 is the base number of the ancient system.

David: also ... If I recall correctly .... the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second ... isn't it?

These numbers are absolutely staggering

792 is a harmonic of the Earth's diameter of 7,920 miles. Gematria litterally means "Measuring the Earth." The number showed up in an important dream of Paul's around 1995.

The tangents of the Gematrian numbers, when multiplied, result in a number that is the square root of 5, which itself is the tangent of the speed of light in air!

JMason4557: The story is even older than the one in the Bible. It is a lesson in sacred geometry and numbers. 153 is one of the most special numbers of them all.

It is the 17th Triangle number...the numbers 1 through 17 add to 153.

JMason4557: Twice 153 is 306 which is another in between number with the 666 tangent. This is because 306 + 360 (full circle) = 666.

The "Net" has 16 little diamond shapes with the dimensions 265 and 153. This demonstrates the approximate square root of three as 265/153.

2448 is the diameter of Lake Tiberius in the story.

JMason4557: Yes! That is why I want you to know this now. The most likely event is another symbolic earthquake! But, I would not predict that. Something symbolic may happen.

The geometry of the 153 Fish involves the Seed of Life diagram. Are you familiar with this?

JMason4557: They are related. The geometry of the 153 Fish also relates to the Tree of Life diagram. The Seed of Life is six interlocking circles in a ring, with a seventh circle in the center. Six petals are formed, giving the flower shape.

So much for Jupiter and Saturn. How about our Sun? Seventeen years ago at Barbary Castle on July 17, 1991, one of the most remarkable early crop pictures appeared. It showed a  "double ring" symbol for our Sun, superimposed onto a single triangle (or tetrahedron) with three small circles attached (see barbry91):

Barbary Castle appeared just six days after a total solar eclipse on July 11, 1991, consistent with its solar symbolism (see  astropix.com). Furthermore, a similar double ring symbol for "Sun" appeared at Avebury Manor on July 22, 2008, to tell us about solar events in late 2012 (see aveburymanor2008b).

Could there be an outward flow of energy within our Sun, corresponding to the single tetrahedron shown at Barbary Castle in 1991, or to Hoagland's double tetrahedron? In fact, every new 11-year solar cycle begins with a burst of new sunspots or magnetic field variations at solar latitudes close to +20 or -20 degrees:

 
Those initial energy flows seem to match predicted latitudes of +19.5 or -19.5 degrees from the double tetrahedral model. In the later years of any cycle, they move closer to the equator (see Educational or science.nasa.gov).
 
Returning now briefly to the crop picture (see above), what might those other three small circles from Barbary Castle 1991 be meant to signify? Its "hexagonal swirl" could be just a double tetrahedron as seen from above. The symbolic meaning of its "ratchet spiral" seems less clear, but could mean perhaps that some internal energy is quantized as one approaches the vortex centre. Regardless of where Hoagland derived his ideas, could they still have some merit perhaps, in relation to modern theories of quantum gravity? In some of those theories, the basic building block of space-time is assumed to be a four-dimensional tetrahedron or "pentachoron". Such a geometric shape will project into our normal three-dimensional space as a series of five single tetrahedra, or perhaps even as Hoagland's double tetrahedron (see Polytopes or http://teamikaria.com/wiki/Pentachoron).
 
We saw the three-dimensional projection of a tesseract or four-dimensional cube in crops at North Down on August 19, 2007 (see northdown2007). Could those crop artists be showing us in 2008 the three-dimensional projection of a four-dimensional tetrahedron? Tetrahedral symmetry appears for quantum electricity in many kinds of atom, for example the carbon orbitals in methane CH4. Tetrahedral deformations are well known in some atomic nuclei (see tetrahedron).
 
With regard to quantum gravity, one leading theory states: "Quantum gravity divides space-time into tiny triangular sections known as simplexes. The 3-simplex is usually called a tetrahedron. The 4-simplex as a basic building block is usually called a pentachoron. Each individual simplex remains geometrically flat, yet many simplexes may be joined together in a variety of ways, so as to create a variety of curved space times (see /Causal-dynamical-triangulation or Causal_dynamical_triangulation).
 
In summary, if the underlying structure of space-time on a large planetary scale (as well as a small quantum scale) is really that of a pentachoron or 4-simplex, then the projection of that pentachoron into our three-dimensional space might well resemble Hoagland's double tetrahedron, and thereby explain the anomalous planetary or solar data as observed.

What do we see at latitude 19.5 degrees on Earth?

Many people have speculated about various geological features found close to latitudes of +19.5 or -19.5 on Earth (see planets). But more interesting perhaps are certain archeological features that lie close to latitude 19.5 degrees North on Earth, namely the great pyramid complexes of Teotihuacan and Edzna in ancient Mexico (see www.world-mysteries.com or www.dartmouth.edu):
 

 
Why should those archaeological features be of relevance here? Simply because Mayan calendars, Mayan binary codes, or symbols for the legendary Quetzalcoatl constitute an important part of modern crop pictures (see http://cropcirclemeanings.blogspot.com). Could the same race of people who once built Teotihuacan at a chosen latitude of 19.5 degrees, now be sending us messages in crops, about a latitude of 19.5 degrees from hyper-dimensional physics?
 
A change of energy flow as we approach the year 2012?
 
What will happen to Earth and our solar system in the year 2012, when the Mayan Long Count calendar ends on December 21 or 23? Nobody today really knows. Could it be related somehow to the four crop pictures that they just showed in 2008 at Secklendorf, Reinshof, All Cannings or Oliver's Castle, concerning hyper-dimensional physics?
 
As of 2008, we seem to be seeing slightly altered flows of energy all through our solar system: (a) fewer sunspots or less solar wind than normal (see solarwind or www.earthfiles.com), (b) two new red spots on Jupiter (see  apod.nasa.gov), (c) a glowing hexagonal aurora on Saturn (see  cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com), or (d) increased levels of green nightglow on Venus (see query.nytimes.com). We may wish to keep a close eye on such phenomena are we approach the year 2012:
 
"Strange things will happen to the Sun, Moon and stars".(Luke 21, 25).
 
Indeed, might our current understanding of solar or planetary physics be as incomplete as that of early 20th-century scientists, who did not yet understand how stars can burn for billions of years using radioactive fusion? And might those mysterious crop artists---benevolent extra-terrestrials of some kind---be intent on helping us to understand? For sure, they are not far away! Hunbatz MenKukulcán's pyramid is notable for the fact that at the spring and fall equinoxes (March 21 and September 22) the sun projects an undulating pattern of light on the northern stairway for a few hours in the late afternoon—a pattern caused by the angle of the sun and the edge of the nine steps that define the pyramid's construction.
These triangles of light link up with the massive stone carvings of snake heads at the base of the stairs, suggesting a massive serpent snaking down the structure.

Additionally, when one looks at the western face during the winter solstice, the sun appears to climb up the edge of the staircase until it rests momentarily directly above the temple before beginning its descent down the other side. The orientation of the pyramid is approximately 17 degrees east of magnetic north, in an area where the declination is approximately 2 degrees east, so the actual orientation is around 19 degrees east of true north. Several other major structures on the site are oriented in approximately the same way.

Not so the pyramids erected by other ancient peoples—those of the Maya, for example. But the pyramids of the Maya—Kukulcán’s among them—reveal much about the sophisticated skills of their builders.

Decoding Kukulkan's Longitude

Kukulkan Pyramid. When the world's pyramids were built, their longitudes were reckoned from a very ancient Prime Meridian (0/360° longitude) that ran from pole to pole across the Great Pyramid at Giza, Egypt, a full 31 degrees, 08 minutes, 00.8 seconds to the east of our modern Greenwich Prime Meridian.

In order to "read" our western pyramids this 31° 08' 00.8" longitudinal variance must be factored in to our present-day longitudes for these western monuments.

Like the other pyramids of the Western Hemisphere, the Kukulkan Pyramid at Chichan Itza was a terraced monument as opposed to being a true pyramid form such an we see in Egypt. There were clear reasons for this departure from Egyptian architectural practice because in the West, pyramids convey specific numbers which can enable us to see why they were built where they were upon the earth.

The decoding process is generally quite simple, the only exceptions apparently having been at Tikal where the decoding process is not without certain complexities, otherwise the decoding is a simple process. The Kukulkan is a classic example of this.

In this 3/4 view from ground level., notice that the pyramid shows us nine terraces. This, the first number we use to assemble our formula for the decoding process.

The second number is 365. Kukulkan has four staircases, one on each side of the monument, on each staircase are 91 steps. For the four., that totals to 364 steps with the top platform of the pyramid being the 365th step. We now have our second number - 365.

OVERHEAD VIEW

In the overhead view, we see that the pyramid has four sides, and four staircases. We now have all the numbers shown by the architect and can put the decoding formula together:

  • 9 terraces x 365 steps x 4 sides x 4 stairways = 52,560

There are also other numbers which also multiply to 52,560. These are 119, 42 and 10.51620648. Two rational numbers and an irrational, but these are not shown on the pyramid. These appear only on maps.

Hence, those other three numbers of 119, 42, and 10.51620648 shown above, are the elements of Kukulkan's original longitude which multiply to its GRID longitude which was left to us in the 4-4-9-365 message conveyed by the Kukulkan itself.

The Pyramid of Kukulcan - a Precessional Alarm Clock

 

When the Toltec people moved to Chichen Itza, they merged their own zenith cosmology with the Mayan system, and the result was the Pyramid of Kukulcan.  This has been designed so that every year, on Spring Equinox, the afternoon sun causes a shadow play so that it appears that a huge serpent is descending from the sky, down the pyramid. However, John Major Jenkins shows that the pyramid is much more than an equinox indicator. It is a ‘PRECESSIONAL CLOCK WITH ITS ALARM SET FOR THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY’.

Jenkins says that Kukulcan, (or Quetzalcoatl, the plumed serpent), was the symbol of a sun-Pleiades-zenith conjunction. Exactly 60 days after the Spring Equinox, on May 20, the zenith passage of the sun takes place over Chichen Itza. The Crotalus rattlesnake, whose pattern is constantly used in Mesoamerican art, has a marking on it which is identical to the Solar ‘Ahau’ glyph of the Maya, and its rattle was called ‘tzab’, which is the same word used for the Pleiades star cluster

What is common for the beauty of a sculpture, picture, simphony, poem, etc? Is it possible to compare the beauty of the temple to the beauty of a nocturne? It appears it is, provided the unified criteria of beauty are found. Among many proportions there is one having unique properties. This proportion is called: "golden section", "golden ratio", "golden number" and "golden mean"..

The golden section- a precise way of dividing a line, music or anything else-is showed up early in mathematics. It goes back at least as far as 300 B.C., when Euclid described it in his major work, the Elements. Moreover, the Pythagoreans apparently knew about the golden section around 500 B.C. The oldest examples of this principle, however, appear in nature's proportions, including the morphology of pine cones and starfish. Further more, "The golden section is thought by some people to offer the aesthetically most pleasing proportion."

Euclid, a Greek mathematician wrote the Elements which is a collection of 13 books . It was the most important mathematical work up to present days. In Book 6, Proposition 30, Euclid shows how to divide a line in mean and extreme ratio which we would call "finding the golden section point on the line." Euclid used this phrase to mean the ratio of the smaller part of the line, to the larger part is the SAME as the ratio of the larger part, to the whole line. Euclid in Elements called dividing a line at the ratio 0.6180399.. : 1 , dividing a line in the extreme and mean ratio. This later gave rise to the name golden mean, golden ratio and even the divine proportion.

In order to describe the golden section, imagine a line that is one unit long. Then divide the line in two unequal segments, such that the shorter one equals x, the longer one equals (1 - x) and the ratio of the shorter segment to the longer one equals the ratio of the longer segment to the overall line; that is, x/(1 - x) = (1 - x)/1. That equality leads to a quadratic equation that can be used to solve for x, and substituting that value back into the equality yields a common ratio of approximately 0.618. We shall use the Greek letter phi for this Golden Proportion . Also, we shell use Phi for the closely related value 1.6180339887...

Phi has the value (sqrt(5)+1)/2 and phi is (sqrt(5)-1)/2 .Both of them have identical fractional parts after the decimal point. The value of phi is the same but begins with 0.6... instead of 1.6...

 

The Golden Proportion, phi, has been observed to evoke emotion or aesthetic feelings within us. The ancient Egyptians used it in the construction of the great pyramids and in the design of hieroglyphs found on tomb walls. At another time, thousands of miles away, the ancients of Mexico embraced phi while building the Sun Pyramid at Teotihuacan. The Greeks studied phi closely through their mathematics and used it in their architecture. The Parthenon at Athens is a classic example of the use of the Golden Rectangle. Plato in his Timaeus considered it the most binding of all mathematical relations and makes it the key to the physics of the cosmos. During the Renaissance, phi served as the "hermetic" structure on which great masterpieces were composed. Renowned artists such as Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo da Vinci made use of it for they knew of its appealing qualities. Evidence suggests that classical music composed by Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach embraces phi.

La Historia Iniciática del Rey Serpiente Maya, y el año 2012

Hace milenos en el Antiguo México Maya circuló una narración Iniciática que relataba la Historia el Rey Can (Serpiente), fundador de una dinastía de Iniciados en los Augustos Misterios, esta historia fue relatada miles y miles de veces entre los palacios de Chichén Itza y de Uxmal, este Rey procreó tres hijos, cuyos nombres eran: Cay (pez), Aac (Tortuga) y Coh (Jaguar) y creó del costado de sus propios hijos dos hijas: Moo (Guacamaya) y Nicté (Flor).

Fue obligatorio entre los antiguos mayas que el más joven de los hermanos debía de contraer matrimonio con su hermana mayor, para asegurar la legítima y divina descendencia de la familia real del Rey Serpiente llamado Can.

El príncipe Coh fue un valiente y afortunado guerrero, y estuvo al frente de los ejércitos, a quienes había llevado muchas veces a la victoria, conquisto numerosas naciones y aumentó considerablemente la extensión del imperio Maya. Como era el más joven de los hijos del Rey Serpiente Can, hubo que casarlo con su hermana mayor Moo, quien por su parte le amaba y a la vez sentía envanecida de sus hazañas.

Cuando el Rey Serpiente Can, murió, el reino fue dividido entre sus hijos, Moo llegó a ser la reina de Chichén-itza, sus pobladores le juraron lealtad. Esta reina llegó a alcanzar los más altos niveles dentro de la Orden de la Serpiente, y al morir recibió honores apoteósicos y para ella fue elegida una pirámide; la nombraron diosa del fuego, y fue adorada como la descendiente de las serpientes luminosas, en la cubre de la pirámide se instaló un altar en su honor, esta pirámide está en la ciudad Itzmal (rocío del cielo).

Aac, el segundo hijo del Rey Serpiente Can, también amó a Moo. Este príncipe era el señor de Uxmal, en esta ciudad aun se pueden observar tortugas de piedra. Aac era lo que diríamos un hombre religioso y dogmatico, era de vida pacífica y sedentaria. Los dioses Vucub-Camé y Hun-Camé del inframundo Xibalbá construyeron alrededor de la ciudad murallas para que jamás Aac el Religioso se uniera a su hermana Moo Esotérica y procrearan hijos monstruos.

Aac sentía envidia por la fama de su hermano, y celos de que el pueblo le amara, y que su hermosa hermana adorara a Coh. Aac dejándose llevar de sus malas pasiones, conspiró, contra sus hermanos, asesinar a Coh, y de obtener a la fuerza a su hermana Moo, y así ideó derribar las murallas que había entre ellos, así adueñarse de ella y tomar las riendas del gobierno Maya y de ser dueño de los secretos conocimientos mágicos que su padre el Rey Serpiente había confiado a su hija Moo.



En ahora olvidados relatos mayas se describe el asesinato de Coh: Aac lleno de ira, con tres lanzas en la mano asesina a Coh por la espalda, siendo herido tres veces con las lanzas.

El Códice Maya Troano existente hoy en Madrid ha registrado e ilustrado este hecho en la primera sección de la lámina XIV correspondiente a la segunda parte de la obra, al describir el homicidio y sus consecuencias. El códice explica que corazón de Coh fue embalsamado y puesto en una urna.

Al morir Coh el Principie iniciado en los Antiguos Misterios se encendió una guerra civil en el Reino Maya, pues Aac había reunido un grupo de conspiradores que le apoyarían a instalar en el Reino maya la Religión con sus dogmas, y así Aac aspiro a adueñarse de las riendas del gobierno, y por otra, los partidarios de Coh luchaban para vengar la muerte de su héroe y defender a su reina y su estilo de vida iniciática; tal como lo había enseñado el Rey Serpiente llamado Can, la Religión de Aac era en todo el sentido de la palabra una deformación total de las enseñanzas Augustas de su Padre el Rey Serpiente Can.

La caprichosa diosa de la fortuna unas veces favorecía a los partidarios de Coh y otras a los religiosos dogmaticos partidarios de Aac. Aac entonces al ver que las cosas marchaban en su contra recurrió a la diplomacia para que su idea triunfara. Renovó la petición de la mando de su Hermana Moo, a quien envió mensajeros con presentes de oro, de jade y pieles finas ya que su hermana era viuda. La escena está descrita de modo vivo en bajo relieves dek reino maya.



Moo recibe la comitiva diplomática de su hermano Aac pero ella se burla del amor de su hermano, a quien ve en un plano inferior junto con sus ideas deformadas. En el bajo relieve se observa que el príncipe Aac tiene un tocado simbolizando una serpiente, cuyo nombre se lee la palabra Can, esta serpiente mira a una guacamaya posada sobre un árbol. El árbol se halla resguardado por un mono con actitud amenazadora, y es el protector de la Reina Moo, símbolo el árbol de la sabiduría.

La escena nos recuerda a Eva tentada por la Serpiente en el árbol del jardín del Edén. En la historia Maya Moo se negó repetidas veces a aceptar los amores de Aac, y en consecuencia la guerra continuó. Moo terminó por sucumbir los deseos sexuales de Aac, mediante una artimaña en la cual ella comería ciertos frutos que la harían caer en una somnolencia y en un deseo sexual incontrolable, de esa unión nacieron durmientes seres de carne y huesos, que terminarían siendo vencidos en diciembre del año 2012, para dar paso a nuevos seres semejantes a los seres serpientes luminosas de antaño.

Así la historia de Moo que cayó en manos del religioso Aac, quien la maltrató, obligándola a escapar, se vengó del sacerdote Cay por pretender ayudar a Moo, y para conmemorar su victoria, Aac hizo colocar una estatua en Uxmal – estatua cuyos pies profanan los cadáveres de sus parientes serpientes muertos.
Cuando todo esto transcurría unos pocos fieles a la tradición del Rey Serpiente Can crearon una fraternidad que resguardarían las enseñanzas secretas de Can a través de las edades, sin que estas se deformaran, y es así sus enseñanzas nos llegan hasta el día de hoy.
