RECORD 8000 Kg KHICHDI PREPARED IN A SINGLE CONTAINER -
@ SAI BABA TEMPLE IN BHOPAL

On 15th Oct`2011 - the 3rd Anniversary of the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Awadhpuri District of Bhopal`Madhya Pradesh`India,
a Sai Baba devotee from Bhopal Shri.R.K Mahajan organised a Bhandara (Mass Feast) for 15,000 people. 

For this Bhandara a record 8,000 Kg 'Shahi Khichdi' (Rice, Lentils & Vegetables preparation) was prepared at the Shirdi Sai Baba temple.
At a cost of Rs.5 lakh, this Bhandara was organised as Shri.R.K.Mahajan had taken a vow to do so many years back.
Using 2000 Kg of Rice, this 8,000 kg Shahi Khichdi was prepared in a single 12,500 Kg capacity Metal container.
Weighing around 2,040 Kg, this huge Metal container itself took almost 4 months in the making.

A JCB Machine was used to stir the 'Khichdi' which was later served to 15,000 people at the Bhandara. 
The religious function was held under supervision of Pt Kalyanraman Iyer.
