- NEW MARBLE IDOL OF DATTATREYA INSTALLED IN LENDI BAGH`SHIRDI - 02nd Dec`2011
In Shirdi's Lendi Bagh, just infront of Muktaram’s Samadhi and a little to the left from Nanda Deep is Lord Dattatreya's Temple. This temple was built by two local devotees of Baba who preferred to remain anonymous. Behind this Temple there is a small sacred Audumbar tree also. Every morning, Lord Dattatreya is given a Holy Bath followed by Alankar and Bhog which is offered 3 times a day.
In August`1976, the Prana Pratishta of the first Idol of Lord Dattatreya & Marble Padukas @ Lendi Bagh, was performed. Then, later a pair of Silver Padukas were installed here on 12th December`2008, Datta Jayanthi day.
During Baba’s sojourn in Shirdi there was a another small Datta Temple behind this Datta Temple. Baba would often go and stand before it. But this Temple was later removed when the beautification of Lendi Bagh was done by the Shirdi Sansthan.
AND NOW, ON THURSDAY 01st DECEMBER`2011, A NEW MARBLE IDOL OF LORD DATTATREYA WAS INSTALLED IN LENDI BAGH`SHIRDI.
