Activities carried out by Mrs Veena Gupta

Main activity of Mrs. Gupta is still her Sadhna and Baba. Nothing else interests her. I have also retire from the post of Joint Secretary from Govt. of India with handsome pension. We don’t have any financial problems, with the blessings of Baba we have our own house, good pension, sons well settled in Multi National companies on high positions and no liability.
We were totally against devotees offering some thing to Baba at our place. But wishes of Baba were something else. In the year 2000, A known priest of Sai Mandir mentioned that a devotee’s son had come to the temple with the kidney problem. He was on dialyses and to meet the expenses of dialyses he has already sold his land in the village. Now he was advised to undergo transplant of kidney. But he is totally broke. He also mentioned that the Dispensary of the Sai Temple has assured him the medicines after the operation. He has got the promises but not the money. One person told him that he will give 1.5 lack rupees if he first collect 51 thousand from others. The Priest asked us if we can do something for him as many people come to our place. I told Mrs. Gupta not to indulge in money maters as I am in Govt. Service and I don’t want any trouble. Mrs. Gupta was in a Very bad mood on that Thursday. This news spread through one to other and they told Mrs. Gupta that she should have told them as they generally come without money. After the Sri Sai Amrit Vani and having the lunch there was some murmur among the devotees. At that time we used to sit in the veranda and the mandir was in the kitchen and there was a room in between. Any body going to mandir comes back murmuring. After some time they asked Mrs. Gupta to go to the mandir. To her surprise she found huge amount of money there. By that time many devotees have already left. When the remaining devotees and Mrs. Gupta tried to count, they simply could not do it. As they were so thrilled and surprised. They decided that I will count when I will come back from the office. To the surprise of all, it was 51 Thousand. From where this money came from? No devotee has clamed till now that they have given that money. It was Baba’s wish and He has made us the media. This money was given to the person for the operation. Later on our sons also gave some money along with some others and in total one lakh Rs were given.
Almost every year we try to go to Shirdi to have darshan of Baba and also almost every year Mrs. Gupta arranges a Sai Bajan Sandhya at our locality park/compound with the gathering of above 500 people. Where all the devotees are served with proper dinner after the Bajans. In the last Sri Sai Bhajan Sandhya on 24th Feb 2007 there were more than 700 devotees.
In the year 1995 Mrs. Gupta went to Shirdi along with her friend as I could not take the leave from the office. Soon came the Ganesh Chaturthi. Baba started blessing with the Udi from the photo. At that time we were having only the photos and not the statue of Baba. This news spread so wide and so quickly that devotees even from far off places start coming for darshan of Baba. Our whole days were busy in entertaining the devotees. Devotees used to come in the groups and several groups used to be there at the time. Some devotee asked the oil from the Deepak (lamp) to be applied for the portion affected by the paralyses. One women was having the brain tumer. To our surprise people were getting cured. The man was having much relived and the Lady’s cat scan was clear. There were many cases like that and people were getting cured. Devotees came till the Ganesh Visarjan. On the day of Ganesh Visarjan we saw the water on the photo and all the Udi vanished. During this time Devotees started offering to Baba and a good sum of money was accumulated. It so happened that soon a devotee came and said that they are constructing a temple, He had retied and he is construcing the temple on the land he is having. He is going to spend all his money in the construction and so he will not be having money for the Statue. Mrs Gupta Gave all the money for the statue, which got collected during these days, without counting it. It was the money of Baba and He was asking it. We have not heard anything from that devotee after that. Now and then we give money for such purposes from our own to our capacity.
Since 1999 we have been reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani and group Pooja. In 2004, we shifted to Sidhartha Extension from Lodhi Colony. In Lodhi Colony we did not allow any devotee to offer Baba, the money, but devotees used to bring Bhog. The Bhog used to be kept on the table in the varandha and used to be distributed along with the lunch. All the devotees used to be served lunch after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani. Here devotees have started offering money to Baba as we have stopped any outside bhog. On behalf of the devotee we arrange the bhog and put all the bhog in a box, As the gathering here is more, it is quick to give the box of bhog rather than arranging a plate with many items of bhog at the time of distribution of Bhog, We also avoid distribution of any loose or liquid Bhog as it may fall on the floor and come under the feet. We are keeping money of Baba separately, without counting. Out of this money being so collected, Mrs. Gupta has dispersed the money so far as
1. It is the money of Baba and should go to HIM only. So whenever we go to Shirdi, Mrs Gupta put a part of this into the Hundi of Baba.
2. Money is being given for the medicine for the chemotherapy to the poor patients of Cancer through a registered organization.
3. Money is being given to the All India Federation for the Blind.
4. Contribution is being made for the Bhandaras, organized in the temples.
5. Contribution is being made for the construction of the temples.
6. Small helps are being made to the poor students for their studies for books, copies, tution fee etc,
7. Small help is being made for the medicines for the poors.
8. Some times Bhog is also arranged from this amount, as the Prasad from Baba, All depending on the intuitions from Baba.
All the money is kept separately and is not counted. Depending on the availability of money new outlets may be opened. But we don’t want to involve much into money matter as it is going to affect our Sadhna.
