My grandmother was 13 years old when she made her way to America with Hugo and Irene on a Dutch ship in August 1939. Once link wealthy business owners in Wiesenfeld, my family arrived in America with four dollars, a gold IWC link pocket watch, and – most importantly – their lives. Irene, always a tough woman, lived to 100. She used to pace around my grandmother's house muttering that the link Nazis stole her piano.
