General: How can new condos still have bad air?

I always thought newly built condos would have perfectly clean air, but my friends moved into a brand-new place and the air still feels stale. How is that possible if the building is new?

They did a small renovation before moving in, but used normal, safe materials. Everything looks new and fresh — yet the air feels like it’s standing still. They’re confused and already starting to worry about it. |

It often happens because construction dust gets trapped in the ventilation during the building phase.
