LA REVELACIÓN DEL SATHYA SAIGYATRÎ
La ocasión fue la víspera de Navidad de 1977. El lugar fue el Sathya Sai Mandir en Brindavan, Whitefield, cerca de Bangalore. La audiencia reunida allí consistía en un grupo de estudiantes y maestros del Sri Sathya Sai College, así como algunos devotos visitantes. Fue en la gloriosa presencia de Sai Baba misma que un gran erudito védico, el Pandit Sri Ghandikota Subrahmanya Shastry, fue inspirado en anunciar el Gâyatrî de Sri Sathya Sai, la mística fórmula dedicada a Shri Sathya Sai Baba.Éste reza así: | SY ÎSHVARYA VIDMAHE | | SATHYA DEVYA DHÎMAHI | | THANNAH SARVAHA PRACHODAYAT | El significado es el siguiente: "Yo sé por medio de los gurus y los Shastras (escrituras) y por experiencia directa, de que Sai es Dios mismo; él es Bhagavan e Ishvara. Yo medito en esta forma en mi corazón con todas mis facultades mentales. Él es la personificación de la verdad, la divinidad, la conciencia universal y el que permea todas las palabras. Yo oro a este Sai Parameshvara, supremo Señor Sai, para que dirija mi intelecto a que se dedique a actividades auspiciosas y justas. Por esto yo medito en esta gran forma”. Este Sathya Sai Gâyatrî, como otros Gâyatrîs, está a la par con los mantras védicos. Tiene 24 letras; consta de tres líneas, cada una con 8 letras. Este tipo de composición tiene propiedades únicas. De acuerdo con el Maharishi Vararuchi, la numerología de todas las letras suman 108. Es por esto que la recitación debe hacerse 108 veces para obtener el pleno efecto de los poderes que son representados por el número 108, el Merú o la borla en el rosario o japamala. El cantar 108 veces (llamado Ashtottara Shata Nâma) lleva a la realización de Dios que es la meta. Cada Gâyatrî mantra tiene un profeta o rishi que lo reveló y una deidad presidente, o adhishthana devata, que es el sujeto del mantra. Este mantra ha sido expresado por el trabajo interno de Sathya Sai por medio de la boca del Pandit Sri Ghandikota Subramanya Shastry en la presencia de Shri Sathya Sai Baba.
