Although I wish this watch were a link fraction smaller, I can't always link have exactly everything I want. The case measures 39.9 mm, which maybe is needed because of the gems – the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. The two chronograph pushers are satin-finished and the link caliber CH 28-520 movement is also elaborately finished. You can take a nice little peek through the sapphire crystal caseback.

With other sub-collections like Prospex, Presage, and Seiko 5 Sports, did we need another line of Seiko link watches? Probably not, but King Seiko has something of a cult following. And judging by the reception online when this new Seiko sub-collection (in a few dial colors) was announced last month, the Seiko-obsessed are positively jazzed over this new line.

Was Jay-Z feeling extra charitable this past weekend, or did he secure the piece from Tiffany directly? Given his well-known penchant for major watches and his recent high-profile campaign with Tiffany, either seems equally likely (as does an early holiday gift from Queen Bee). But it's nice to see that Hov's watch collecting hasn't slowed down since we noticed his Reverso while playing Carnegie Hall vintage grand seiko back in 2013.

It was a conceptual link idea, creating this object that speaks about time, but really you're watching time elapse. It was designed with the idea of using time as a meditative function in the same way that you could look at a wave or a fire burning.
