Le daré tres razones (una de las cuales es incorrecta), pero antes, déjeme explicarle algo que debería ser evidente, pero que parece que no lo fuera.
Dios no es materia, ni cuerpo, ni forma. Por lo tanto, es imposible que Dios sea varón, hembra, hermafrodita, cosa, etc. Dios es Dios, y punto. Es imposible, porque Dios así lo ha dispuesto en Su Sabiduría y Poder.
Sin embargo, la mente humana, bastante torpe y traviesa (a veces) juega con nosotros, y fantaseamos acerca de Dios, tal como lo hacemos con muchas cosas, personas, conceptos. Fantasear con lo que no es Dios, ya provoca habitualmente distorsiones, pero cuando del Eterno se trata, ¡que Dios no salve de nosotros mismos! (Mire las terribles idolatrías que aún hoy pululan por los que consideran a Dios en términos antropomórficos, es decir, al nivel de su limitada humanidad).
Por lo dicho, preguntar por el sexo de Dios es inútil, pues Dios no tiene sexo, ni preferencias sexual, ni sexos/géneros preferidos.
Ahora que supongo que aclaramos esto, pasemos a las respuestas de porqué habitualmente se habla de Dios como varón.

Machismo, patriarcado y misoginia
Esta es una motivación incorrecta desde el punto estrictamente judío, pero que es aplicable a otras creencias (por completo ajenas a la Tradición judía).
A la deidad se lo trata como a varón, porque es una creación a imagen y semejanza de varones humanos, varones que por circunstancias históricas y sociales se han ubicado en un lugar de poder totalitario, y temen la presencia femenina.
Leamos los Evangelios, el Corán, textos de muchas de las otras creencias en las cuales hay una deidad suprema masculina, y prontamente reconoceremos que es un dios tan pero tan humano, que cuesta diferenciarlo de uno más de entre nosotros, o más bien, de un superhéroe de los comics...
A diferencias de estas creencias, y de estos falsos dioses; Dios, el Uno y Único nos creó a nosotros a su imagen y semejanza, palabras que deben ser entendidas en su significado espiritual y no físico, como ya hemos explicado anteriormente. Por lo que, es impropio calificarlo como varón, ya que no lo es.

Modalidad del idioma
Esta segunda motivación no es tan repugnante como la anterior, sin embargo no explica mucho.
Y apela a los recursos de muchos de los idiomas humanos, que por alguna causa (desconocida para mí) atribuyen al uso del género masculino preponderancia sobre el femenino o el neutro.

Proveedor de la existencia
Dios si bien no tiene sexo, actúa en la realidad, en lo que Él creó, de dos modos diferentes: como mujer, como varón.
¿Qué quiere decir esto?
Machos y hembras tenemos ciertas cualidades (fisiológicas, psicológicas, espirituales, etc.) que son específicas a cada género, y que si bien pueden ser compartidas en algún grado, resultan preponderantes más en uno que en el otro.
No me extenderé en este punto, que ya en otras ocasiones tratamos.
Dios actúa de modos que a nosotros nos recuerden el proceder típicamente femenino o masculino.
Por ejemplo, Dios al actuar como Creador, nos recuerda a la función privativa (¿por ahora?) de la hembra: la de dar a luz una novedosa criatura.
Dios al actuar como soporte y estímulo de los israelitas en el desierto, ¿no nos recuerda a la madre?
Dios al interesarse por lo íntimo, lo interior, lo próximo, nos recuerda la forma femenina de actuar.
Dios al proveer al mundo de la existencia, recuerda al rol tradicional del varón que es el de salir al mundo, a lo exterior, para conquistarlo, para luego obtener de él lo que se precisa para vivir. O tal como es el hombre el que penetra en la mujer, y le brinda la semilla que posibilita la creación.
Así pues, en la Torá la Creación es narrada con el nombre que Dios usa cuando actúa del modo que a nosotros nos recuerda lo femenino, que es Elo-him.
En tanto que cuando Dios es el proveedor, el que da la simiente de vida, tal como el varón lo hace, es que se usa el género correspondiente.
Luego de la Creación, aquella realizada en los seis períodos primigenios, Dios mantiene Su creación constantemente, proveyéndola de energía, de vida, es decir, actúa como el Padre, por lo que se lo trata lingüísticamente como varón.
¿Se entiende?
En definitiva, gracias a su pregunta hemos visto al menos cuatro puntos interesantes respecto a creencias y prácticas del judaísmo:

Dios es Uno y Único pero actúa de modos diversos, que en ocasiones para nosotros son similares al femenino y a veces al masculino (a veces son propios modos de Dios y sólo Él).

La idolatría y la lucha despiadada por el predominio de algunos sobre otros, son hermanitos siameses.

La fantasía, la imaginación, tiende a que nos equivoquemos.

El judaísmo (el que es fiel a sí mismo) rechaza radicalmente la vejación de la persona por cuestiones de género.

 Compass & Square Perhaps the best-known of all Masonic symbols are the compass and square, shown interlocked with the letter "G" between them, as the traditional emblems of Freemasonry. During the granting of the First, Second and Third Degrees, the compass and square are placed upon the altar of the Temple in an interlinked fashion, representing the divine Light as it unites with the candidate and fills him with increasing knowledge. At the same time, this leads to his "rebirth" as its resurrected "offspring". That this symbolic rite was derived from a still older mystery, however, is suggested by an early Masonic catechism, which asks, What did the 2 cherubim on the ark of the covenant represent? The answer which it gives is: "The mystery of the Golden Altar" (Dumfries Ms., ca. 1799). Thus, the union of "the two Cherubim" in the Jerusalem Temple would appear to be the ultimate source of the "mystery of the Golden Altar" in the Masonic Temple. The letter "G" (signifying God's secret Name) appears between the intertwining compass and square and is paralleled by Philo's explanation that the union of the statues in the Jewish Temple represented God's "consorting" with the soul, and his "divinizing" of the recipient. Thus the compass and square are exact symbolic equivalents of the ancient Cherubim, i.e. the ancient "Male" and "Female," whose union was the central feature of the Wisdom mystery, and which brought about the candidate's deification. But we should also compare this unique symbolism with the Divine Image itself (Gen. 1:27), which teaches that God is male and female united; hence the sacred "G" appears only when the male compass and the female square are intertwined. The association of these "male" and "female" symbols with solar and lunar iconography was also based on early Israelite and Semitic tradition, according to which the heavenly bodies represented various male and female deities. Their symbols were in fact still used by European alchemists to describe the union of "heaven" and "earth," taking the "Sun" as a figure of Christ, and the "Moon" as a figure of his Bride, the Church. These must again unite in order to "beget" the "Philosopher's Stone," i.e. eternal life. Above, the celestial things, below, the terrestrial; by the male and the female the work is accomplished. Join the male and the female and you will find what you are seeking (Aphorisms of Zosimus) But before they can complete this all-important work, both must die and pass through the "nigredo" state, i.e. the death and dissolution of the body. Zosimus appropriately characterized this stage of the mystery with the image of the "priest" who is torn to pieces and mutilated before he can be resurrected and discover the "Stone of the Nile." Other alchemists described the marriage of the "sun-compass" and the "moon-square" as the bringing together of superius/inferius and externis/interius, which exactly mirrors the language of the ancient Gospel of Thomas ("You shall enter the Kingdom when the upper is as the lower and the outside is as the inside.") Both "Male" and "Female" will then be resurrected as the "gold" of eternal life, forever joined as a divine zakar wanekebah, or "Rebis" ("Two-in-One"). The "Sun" and the "Moon" are further referred to as the "King" and "Queen," just as the Jews referred to God and his exiled Shekhinah in the Kabbalistic mystery. The ultimate origin of the compass and square as divine emblems is presently lost in the mists of antiquity, but their universal employment as builders' tools caused them to appear nearly everywhere as theological symbols for denoting creative power. In Greek iconography, for example, the nature of the gods Pluto, Bacchus and Mars was represented by the triangle (a three-sided, enclosed compass), and that of the goddesses Rhea, Venus, Ceres, Vesta and Juno by the square. In Egypt, the "amulets" of Osiris included two plumb lines, suspended from two compasses, as well as two squares. In pre-Christian China, one also found the Demiurge, Fu Hsih, and his female counterpart, Nü Kua, displaying the compass and square as symbols of their male and female creative powers. Even earlier, the I Ching (ca. 720-474 B.C.) had described the heavens as round (just as the compass delineates the horizon), and the earth as square (with its "four corners"). But these symbols were also employed by the Israelite Creator, who declares in the Old Testament, "I will set a plumb line in the midst of my people, Israel" (Amos 7:8). . . "Judgment will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet" (Isa. 28:17). . ."And thou shalt make an altar...(that) shall be foursquare" (Ex. 27:1). . . "When he prepared the heavens, I was there; when he set a compass upon the face of the depth." (Prov. 8:27) . . . "He has described a circle upon the face of the waters" (Job 26:10) These references show that the ubiquitous builder's tools were also traditionally associated with his divine power and work. There was a legend that the veil before God's Throne in the Heavenly Holy of Holies was covered with the archetypal forms from which Creation would proceed. These forms undoubtedly included the basic round and straight shapes of nature, which the compass and square were used to mark out. It is therefore no surprise to find that medieval cathedral builders frequently depicted Christ with the plumb line, compass and square in his hands, as, for example, in the Cathedral of Santa Croce in Florence, where Jesus stands above the main portal holding the worker's square as a sign of his divine creative power. |

A potentially viable Newtonian candidate would be a trans-Plutonian massive object (Planet X/Nemesis/Tyche) since it, actually, would affect e with a non-vanishing long-term variation. On the other hand, the values for the physical and orbital parameters of such a hypothetical body required to obtain at least the right order of magnitude for ? are completely unrealistic: suffices it to say that an Earth-sized planet would be at 30 au, while a jovian mass would be at 200 au. A king cake (sometimes rendered as kingcake, kings' cake, king's cake, or three kings cake) is a type of cake associated with the festival of Epiphany in the Christmas season in a number of countries, and in other places with the pre-Lenten celebrations of Mardi Gras / Carnival. It is a popular food item during the Christmas season (Christmas Eve to Epiphany) in Mexico, France, Belgium, Quebec and Switzerland (galette or gteau des Rois), Portugal (bolo rei), Spain, and Spanish America (roscón or rosca de reyes and tortell in Catalonia), Greece and Cyprus (vasilopita) and Bulgaria (banitsa). In the United States, Carnival is traditionally observed in the Southeastern region of the country, particularly in Mobile, Alabama, the towns and cities of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, southern Louisiana and New Orleans. In this region, the king cake is closely associated with Mardi Gras traditions and is served throughout the Carnival season, which lasts from Epiphany Eve to Fat Tuesday.

The electromagnetic spectrum, from shortest wavelength to longest: gamma rays, x-ray, ultraviolet radiation, visible light (purple shortest wavelength, red longest), infrared radiation, microwaves, and radio waves.
Gamma radiation, also known as gamma rays or hyphenated as gamma-rays and denoted as γ, is electromagnetic radiation of high frequency and therefore energy. Gamma rays are ionizing radiation and are thus biologically hazardous. Gamma rays are classically produced by the decay from high energy states of atomic nuclei (gamma decay), but also in many other ways. Natural sources of gamma rays on Earth include gamma decay from naturally-occurring radioisotopes such as potassium-40, and also as a secondary radiation from various atmospheric interactions with cosmic ray particles. Some rare terrestrial natural sources that produce gamma rays that are not of a nuclear origin, are lightning strikes and terrestrial gamma-ray flashes, which produce high energy emissions from natural high-energy voltages. Gamma rays are produced by a number of astronomical processes in which very high-energy electrons are produced. Such electrons produce secondary gamma rays by the mechanisms of bremsstrahlung, inverse Compton scattering and synchrotron radiation. La opinión de Juan
Pero el cuarto evangelio trae una segunda versión. Allí se dice que la venida del Espíritu Santo ocurrió… ¡el mismo domingo en que resucitó Jesús!
En efecto, relata san Juan que al atardecer del primer día de la semana (es decir, del domingo de resurrección), los discípulos estaban reunidos con las puertas cerradas, por miedo a los judíos. Entonces llegó Jesús, se puso de pie en medio de ellos y les dijo: «La paz con ustedes». Y les mostró las manos y el costado. Los discípulos se alegraron de ver al Señor. Jesús volvió a decir: «La paz con ustedes. Así como el Padre me envío a mí, también yo los envío a ustedes». Dicho esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: «Reciban el Espíritu Santo. A quienes perdonen sus pecados les serán perdonados; y a quienes se los retengan les serán retenidos» (Jn 20,19-23).
Según el Nuevo Testamento, entonces, el Espíritu Santo bajó dos veces sobre los discípulos. Una (según san Juan) en Pascua; y la otra (según Los Hechos) cincuenta días más tarde, en Pentecostés. ¿Hubo entonces dos venidas? ¿Acaso la primera no fue eficaz, y se debió recurrir a una segunda?
Problemas con tanto Espíritu
Se han propuesto varias teorías para explicar el doble relato. Por ejemplo, que el Espíritu Santo bajó en Pascua de una manera transitoria, mientras que en Pentecostés bajó de manera definitiva. O que en Pascua el Espíritu descendió de un modo individual, sólo para los discípulos, mientras que en Pentecostés bajó para todo el mundo.
Pero estas teorías hoy no son aceptadas. Porque en ningún momento el evangelio de san Juan da a entender que el Espíritu Santo allí entregado sea provisional, o tenga una función puramente individual. Tanto en Juan como en Hechos, el Espíritu Santo aparece bajando sobre los discípulos de un modo definitivo, pleno, total.
Entonces, ¿cómo explicar que haya dos relatos?
Una nueva semana
La solución que hoy proponen los biblistas es muy simple: los dos autores están contando el mismo acontecimiento, es decir, la única venida del Espíritu Santo sobre los seguidores de Jesús. Pero ambos lo cuentan de manera distinta, porque cada uno tiene una intención especial, o sea, una teología particular.
Para el evangelio de Juan, la muerte y resurrección de Jesús provocaron una nueva creación en el mundo. Es como si la primera creación, aquélla contada en el Génesis en siete días, hubiera quedado obsoleta, superada, y hubiera aparecido de pronto, gracias a la resurrección del Señor, un nuevo mundo con nuevas criaturas. Ahora bien, para que entrara en funcionamiento esta nueva creación, Dios tenía que mandar su Espíritu, tal como había sucedido al principio del mundo. Por eso Juan cuenta que el Espíritu Santo bajó el mismo día de Pascua: porque su misión era crear un mundo nuevo, apenas muerto y resucitado Jesús.
Si atendemos ahora a los detalles que Juan pone en su relato, veremos que aluden a esta nueva creación.

The LHC is set to go online sometime this year and will almost certainly revolutionize our understanding of the universe. Designed to recreate the conditions right after the Big Bang, the machine will in effect turn back the clock to the moment of Genesis. The ultimate 'Deep Impact'. In a way, the LHC is the world's first 'Stargate' or 'time machine'.
The flagship LHC detector or 'portal' is ATLAS - i.e. an 'Atlantean' Gate. The 'Great Flood square' of which Atlantis STS-122 was the lower right corner stone was also an 'Atlantean Gate. It was, in fact, ATLAS...
Essentially being a cross-quarter square, it was actually implying an octagon... like this.
A double-square octagon is exactly what you find in the Atlantis STS-122 mission patch.

Not only that, ATLAS precisely mimics the floor plan of the Dome of the Rock which I've long pointed out as a major piece of the puzzle related to 'Deep Impact' (NASA's Deep Impact struck Comet Tempel 1 evoking 'First Temple' as Solomon's Temple is sometimes called which is today embodied by the Dome of the Rock)!  Vesica piscisLa vesica piscis (vejiga de pez en latín) es un símbolo hecho con dos círculos del mismo radio que se intersecan de manera que el centro de cada círculo está en la circunferencia del otro. Esta forma se denomina también mandorla (que significa "almendra" en italiano). Era un símbolo conocido en las antiguas civilizaciones de Mesopotamia, África y Asia. Significado místico y religiosoEn diversos periodos de la historia ha sido tema de especulaciones místicas; probablemente los primeros fueron los Pitagóricos, que la consideraban una figura sagrada. La razón matemática de su anchura (medida por los puntos extremos del "cuerpo", sin incluir la "cola") por su altura fue aproximada por el cociente 265:153. Esta razón, que da 1,73203, se consideró un número sagrado llamado la medida del pez. Exactamente, la razón geométrica de estas dimensiones es la raíz cuadrada de 3, o 1,73205... (ya que si se traza la línea recta que une los centros de ambos círculos, junto con los dos puntos donde los círculos se intersecan, se obtienen dos triángulos equiláteros unidos por un lado). Las puertas solsticiales
Norte y Sur son puntos geográficos que están relacionados a la astrología en el sentido de que corresponden: el norte o invierno a Capricornio y el sur o verano a Cáncer, los dos solsticios; en tanto que en el este o primavera se situará a Aries y en el oeste u otoño a Libra, los dos equinoccios. Estos signos astrológicamente pertenecen a un elemento: Capricornio a la tierra, Cáncer al agua, Aries al fuego y Libra al aire, entre otras relaciones que tienen que ver con el cuaternario.
Para la explicación y las variadas correspondencias con la simbólica de las dos puertas zodiacales ubicadas al norte y al sur, es decir, referidas a los solsticios, podría ser adecuado retomar algunos planteamientos de la obra de René Guénon y que están estrechamente vinculados a la entrada y salida del Templo, denominándose en varias doctrinas respectivamente como “la puerta de los hombres” y “la puerta de los dioses”. La primera corresponde, como hemos ya dicho, al solsticio de verano y al signo de Cáncer, en tanto, que la segunda será la del solsticio de invierno y del signo de Capricornio. En el simbolismo constructivo se les vincula, respectivamente, con la puerta del templo y la apertura situada en la cúpula donde se coloca la piedra de toque, forzosamente desde afuera del templo.
Retomando el simbolismo astrológico, el ciclo anual podemos ver se “divide” en dos mitades: una etapa descendente y otra ascendente, en la primera el sol va hacia el norte, se encamina hacia el solsticio de invierno y en la segunda el sol va hacia el sur, o sea, rumbo al solsticio de verano. En la tradición hindú la fase ascendente se relaciona con el deva-yna (vía de los dioses) y la descendente con el pitr-yna (vía de los padres o antepasados).
El solsticio de invierno será, por tanto, el polo norte y el solsticio de verano el polo sur, marcando la línea vertical de la rueda en donde al sur le corresponde el mediodía y al norte la medianoche. De ahí el sentido esotérico de que los trabajos iniciáticos comiencen a mediodía y cierren a medianoche, es el lapso para realizar el ritual, saliendo uno del tiempo lineal, uniforme y plano del mundo profano e ingresando a otro tiempo en el que todo se hace de acuerdo al rito y, por ende, al símbolo.
Los dos solsticios marcan, entonces, la división del ciclo anual en dos mitades, una ascendente y otra descendente, que reflejan de alguna manera la ley universal aplicable a todo lo existente, el yin y el yang, sístole y diástole, masculino y femenino, positivo y negativo. Pero también los dos puntos en los cuales se “suspende” el movimiento y por lo tanto el tiempo.
Estas dos puertas solsticiales están vinculadas al simbolismo de Jano. Jano es el ianitor (portero) que abre y cierra las puertas (ianuae) del ciclo anual, con las llaves que son uno de sus principales atributos, la llave como simbolismo axial que lo conecta a Jano con la parte Suprema. Sus dos rostros se consideran como la representación del pasado y el porvenir, sin embargo, entre el pasado que ya no es y el porvenir que no es aún, el verdadero rostro de Jano es aquel que mira el presente, el instante permanentemente frente a nuestros ojos o realidad, que es verdaderamente lo único que nos conforma. En efecto, ese tercer rostro, es invisible porque el presente, en la manifestación temporal, no constituye sino un inaprehensible instante, aunque, nos recuerda Guénon, “cuando el ser se eleva por sobre las condiciones de esta manifestación transitoria y contingente, el presente contiene, al contrario, toda realidad.” A Jano se le conoce también como “el Señor del triple tiempo”.
Este tercer rostro de Jano corresponde, en otro simbolismo, el de la tradición hindú, al ojo frontal de Shiva, invisible también, ojo que figura “el sentido de eternidad”. Jano () ha dado su nombre al mes de enero (), que es aquel con el que abre el año (solsticio de invierno). Jano “Señor del triple tiempo” (atributo igualmente asignado a Shiva), es también, el “Señor de las dos vías”, esas dos vías, de derecha y de izquierda (que los pitagóricos representan con la letra Y -Épsilon-) y que son idénticas al deva-yna y al pitr-yna; y que aquí igualmente, habrá que mencionar, hay una tercera vía no visible que se relaciona precisamente con el tercer rostro de Jano.
Jano era el dios de la iniciación y presidía los Collegia Fabrorum, escuela iniciática vinculada con el ejercicio de las artesanías. Jano era un antiguo dios asirio-babilónico, que para los romanos, precedía todo nacimiento ya sea de los hombres, del cosmos o de las acciones ha emprenderse. Lleva consigo dos llaves y por ello se le relaciona con una deidad de aperturas o de inicios, en el cristianismo las fiestas solsticiales de Jano se han convertido en las de los dos San Juan y estas se celebran siempre en las mismas épocas, es decir, en las postrimerías de los solsticios de invierno y de verano, las llaves de Jano, en la simbólica cristiana, abren y cierran el “Reino de los cielos” y el de la tierra, una llave es de oro y la otra es de plata.
En la sucesión de los antiguos Collegia Fabrorum, igualmente es Guénon al que nos remitimos, se transmitió regularmente a las corporaciones que, a través de todo el medioevo, mantuvieron el mismo carácter iniciático y en especial a la de los constructores. La masonería ha conservado como uno de los testimonios más explícitos de su origen las fiestas solsticiales consagradas a los dos San Juan, después de haberlo estado a los dos rostros de Jano. Estos rostros que marcan ciclos y tiempos específicos señalan, en su lado izquierdo el pasado, quizás recordando que en una primera etapa los iniciados deben de tomar conciencia de lo que se requiere cambiar u operar en la construcción de su templo interno. En tanto que el lado derecho corresponde al porvenir y tal vez, hable, entre otras cosas, de lo que está por saberse y aprehenderse.
Estas fiestas que se han celebrado por variadas culturas y pueblos se sitúan en realidad un poco después de la fecha exacta de los solsticios, una vez que el descenso y el ascenso han comenzado; a esto corresponde, en el simbolismo védico, el hecho de que las puertas del Pitr-loka (de los antepasados) y el Deva-loka (de los dioses), se consideren situadas, respectivamente, hacia el sudoeste y el nordeste. Podría decirse, comenta Guénon, con mayor precisión, que “la puerta de los dioses” está situada al norte y vuelta hacia el este y que “la puerta de los hombres” está situada al sur y vuelta hacia el oeste.
Ahora bien, el doble sentido del nombre mismo de Juan es interesante y probablemente relevante para otros: el nombre Yehohanán, puede significar “misericordia de Dios” y también “alabanza de Dios”. El primer concepto se ha vinculado a San Juan Bautista, en tanto que el segundo se le ha designado más frecuentemente a San Juan Evangelista. La misericordia es atributo descendente en tanto que la alabanza requiere de un esfuerzo ascendente. Al Bautista, en la masonería, nos comentan los siete maestros masones en su libro, se le relaciona con la escuadra y el nivel, herramientas indispensables para que la base del edificio a construir este perfectamente allanada y encuadrada, sea esta imagen perfecta del trabajo que nosotros como aprendices hemos de realizar, es decir, la rectificación que cada uno debe ejercer consigo mismo. En tanto al Evangelista, “el águila de Dios” y “el discípulo bien amado” se le considera el apóstol que da testimonio de la luz –del conocimiento– y por ende se le encarga bautizar con el fuego del espíritu. La masonería, nos seguimos refiriendo al mismo libro, le asigna la perpendicular y el compás, y con esto, la posibilidad de trazarnos como instrumentos tales que enlacemos con el eje vertical que va del centro del templo hasta su sumidad más alta donde reside la clave de bóveda.
Hay un símbolo en la masonería (en particular en la anglosajona) que es un círculo entre dos tangentes paralelas, estas tangentes, entre otros significados, representan a los dos San Juan. Estas líneas o marcas, también señalan un límite al ir y venir del sol, son los dos solsticios que nos indican que el sol no puede sobrepasar su curso anual, y también, pueda ser, nos remita al signo correspondiente y al recordatorio que al estar entre columnas no hay que sobrepasarlas. También se le ha dado a estas líneas una relación con las dos columnas del árbol sefirótico y, en su carácter exotérico, se le puede ver como las “columnas de Hércules”, ya que es un héroe solar sosteniendo los dos pilares. Existe una divisa, de nuevo Guénon, que nos dice non plus ultra y que está referida a estas columnas y que, no solamente, expresa o señala los límites del mundo “conocido”.
Como hemos comentado a Jano se le puede observar como el “Señor de la Eternidad”, que probablemente sea uno de sus aspectos más importantes, esto se relaciona con el principio (alfa) y con el fin (omega) de todas las cosas y esto, nos pueda remitir, al evangelio de San Juan que inicia con estas palabras: “En el principio era ya el Verbo, y el Verbo estaba en Dios y el Verbo era Dios. Él estaba en el principio en Dios. Por él fueron hechas todas las cosas: y sin él no se ha hecho cosa alguna de cuantas han sido hechas, en él estaba la vida, y la vida era la luz de los hombres: Y esta luz resplandece en medio de las tinieblas, y las tinieblas no la han recibido” (I, 1-5). O bien la referencia a Cristo como el principio y el fin de todas las cosas, el alfa y el omega. Jano es igualmente “el Señor de las dos vías” por consecuencia inmediata de su carácter de “Señor de Conocimiento”, lo que nos remite de nuevo a la idea de la iniciación de los misterios. Initiatio, nos recuerda Guénon, deriva de in-ire “entrar”, lo que se vincula igualmente con el simbolismo de la puerta y con Jano (Ianus) que contienen la misma raíz que el verbo ire, “ir”; esta raíz se encuentra en sánscrito con el mismo sentido que en latín, es la palabra yna, “vía”, cuya forma esta próxima a la del nombre Ianus, y que faculta la iniciación, initiatio; en el extremo oriente la palabra Tao significa vía, y sirve para designar al Principio Supremo.

Biología Animal: el ojo de los gatos
A diferencia de los humanos, los felinos y más precisamente los gatos domésticos cuentan con ojos que pueden ver casi en lo que nosotros percibimos como plena oscuridad. Cómo ven los gatos y algunas preguntas más serán respondidas hoy en OjoCientífico.
Gatos y humanos
Es verdad que los gatos pueden ver mejor durante la noche que los humanos, pero sucede totalmente por el contrario durante las horas de sol.
Esta cualidad de poder ver mejor en la oscuridad es compartida por varios animales entre ellos los perros. Esto se debe a que estos animales cuentan con un tapetum lucidum, esto es un tejido que se ubica en la parte posterior de los ojos de los animales.
El tapetum lucidum hace que el ojo absorba mucha más luz antes de llegar a la retina. De esta manera con menos luz ellos pueden ver mejor porque igualmente más luz está entrando en su retina.
Por otra parte como dijimos estos cuentan con peor visión durante el día, teniendo así un umbral de detección de luz siete veces menor que las personas, el tapetum lucidum también es el culpable de esto ya que por permitir mayor iluminación debe limitar la calidad de la visión durante períodos de mucha luz.
Visión
Durante las horas de luz el gato cierra constantemente su iris de esta manera consigue una mejor y más fina profundidad de campo.
Con profundidad de campo nos referimos al espectro nítido de visión. Si ustedes ponen un dedo al frente suyo podrán ver que pueden enfocar su vista hacia el dedo o hacia el fondo, eso es controlar la profundidad de campo de la vista.
Los gatos son animales depredadores, por esta razón al igual que el resto de los depredadores estos cuentan con los ojos al frente de la cabeza. De esta manera pierden un amplio espectro de visión hacia los lados, pero ganan visión en profundidad, para así poder cazar mejor.
Los felinos cuentan con una banda central dentro del ojo llamada raya visual. Gracias a esta raya estos pueden distinguir cierta cantidad de colores, pero no todos.
Entre los colores que pueden distinguir encontramos:
- tonos verdosos
- azul
- celeste
Sin embargo se cree que no pueden ver los colores con mucha definición, y solamente pueden percibirlos a corta distancia.
Otra característica de la visión gatuna es su amplitud de vista. Estos cuentan con una amplitud visual de unos 200º (grados). Por otro lado los humanos contamos con un rango aproximado de 180º. Aunque esto no parezca mucho, lo es.
La membrana nictitante es un párpado extra con el que cuentan algunos animales incluyendo los gatos. Este párpado extra sirve como protección, tanto para bacterias como para posibles amenazas mayores.
