Le daré tres razones (una de las cuales es incorrecta), pero antes, déjeme explicarle algo que debería ser evidente, pero que parece que no lo fuera.
Dios no es materia, ni cuerpo, ni forma. Por lo tanto, es imposible que Dios sea varón, hembra, hermafrodita, cosa, etc. Dios es Dios, y punto. Es imposible, porque Dios así lo ha dispuesto en Su Sabiduría y Poder.
Sin embargo, la mente humana, bastante torpe y traviesa (a veces) juega con nosotros, y fantaseamos acerca de Dios, tal como lo hacemos con muchas cosas, personas, conceptos. Fantasear con lo que no es Dios, ya provoca habitualmente distorsiones, pero cuando del Eterno se trata, ¡que Dios no salve de nosotros mismos! (Mire las terribles idolatrías que aún hoy pululan por los que consideran a Dios en términos antropomórficos, es decir, al nivel de su limitada humanidad).
Por lo dicho, preguntar por el sexo de Dios es inútil, pues Dios no tiene sexo, ni preferencias sexual, ni sexos/géneros preferidos.
Ahora que supongo que aclaramos esto, pasemos a las respuestas de porqué habitualmente se habla de Dios como varón.

Machismo, patriarcado y misoginia
Esta es una motivación incorrecta desde el punto estrictamente judío, pero que es aplicable a otras creencias (por completo ajenas a la Tradición judía).
A la deidad se lo trata como a varón, porque es una creación a imagen y semejanza de varones humanos, varones que por circunstancias históricas y sociales se han ubicado en un lugar de poder totalitario, y temen la presencia femenina.
Leamos los Evangelios, el Corán, textos de muchas de las otras creencias en las cuales hay una deidad suprema masculina, y prontamente reconoceremos que es un dios tan pero tan humano, que cuesta diferenciarlo de uno más de entre nosotros, o más bien, de un superhéroe de los comics...
A diferencias de estas creencias, y de estos falsos dioses; Dios, el Uno y Único nos creó a nosotros a su imagen y semejanza, palabras que deben ser entendidas en su significado espiritual y no físico, como ya hemos explicado anteriormente. Por lo que, es impropio calificarlo como varón, ya que no lo es.

Modalidad del idioma
Esta segunda motivación no es tan repugnante como la anterior, sin embargo no explica mucho.
Y apela a los recursos de muchos de los idiomas humanos, que por alguna causa (desconocida para mí) atribuyen al uso del género masculino preponderancia sobre el femenino o el neutro.

Proveedor de la existencia
Dios si bien no tiene sexo, actúa en la realidad, en lo que Él creó, de dos modos diferentes: como mujer, como varón.
¿Qué quiere decir esto?
Machos y hembras tenemos ciertas cualidades (fisiológicas, psicológicas, espirituales, etc.) que son específicas a cada género, y que si bien pueden ser compartidas en algún grado, resultan preponderantes más en uno que en el otro.
No me extenderé en este punto, que ya en otras ocasiones tratamos.
Dios actúa de modos que a nosotros nos recuerden el proceder típicamente femenino o masculino.
Por ejemplo, Dios al actuar como Creador, nos recuerda a la función privativa (¿por ahora?) de la hembra: la de dar a luz una novedosa criatura.
Dios al actuar como soporte y estímulo de los israelitas en el desierto, ¿no nos recuerda a la madre?
Dios al interesarse por lo íntimo, lo interior, lo próximo, nos recuerda la forma femenina de actuar.
Dios al proveer al mundo de la existencia, recuerda al rol tradicional del varón que es el de salir al mundo, a lo exterior, para conquistarlo, para luego obtener de él lo que se precisa para vivir. O tal como es el hombre el que penetra en la mujer, y le brinda la semilla que posibilita la creación.
Así pues, en la Torá la Creación es narrada con el nombre que Dios usa cuando actúa del modo que a nosotros nos recuerda lo femenino, que es Elo-him.
En tanto que cuando Dios es el proveedor, el que da la simiente de vida, tal como el varón lo hace, es que se usa el género correspondiente.
Luego de la Creación, aquella realizada en los seis períodos primigenios, Dios mantiene Su creación constantemente, proveyéndola de energía, de vida, es decir, actúa como el Padre, por lo que se lo trata lingüísticamente como varón.
¿Se entiende?
En definitiva, gracias a su pregunta hemos visto al menos cuatro puntos interesantes respecto a creencias y prácticas del judaísmo:

Dios es Uno y Único pero actúa de modos diversos, que en ocasiones para nosotros son similares al femenino y a veces al masculino (a veces son propios modos de Dios y sólo Él).

La idolatría y la lucha despiadada por el predominio de algunos sobre otros, son hermanitos siameses.

La fantasía, la imaginación, tiende a que nos equivoquemos.
-
El judaísmo (el que es fiel a sí mismo) rechaza radicalmente la vejación de la persona por cuestiones de género.

About the Pleiades
In every civilization there is a reference to the Seven (visible) Stars of The Pleiades.
The Seven Stars are connected with the Female Principle, the Symbol of Peace and Love, The Heart, The Center of the Galaxy and the Precession of the Equinox.
The Pleiades are also related to water and the start of the rainy season, a theme associated with them around the world. Water is the essential of Aquirius (The Water Bearer). We are entering this Constellation.
The Pleiades are an important reference point in Calenders. The famous Mayan Calender the Tzolkin was based on the cycle of the Pleiades. The Pleiades were seen as the tail of a rattlesnake called, Tz’ab (the Milky Way).
The Mayas and other Civilizations are highly interested in a very special conjunction of the Cross of the Zodiac and the Center of our Creation, the Pleiades. They believed like many other ancient Civilizations that the Humans originated from the Pleiades.
The main cycle of the Pleiades was the Cycle of the Precession of the Equinoxes. The Pleiades were also associated with a 52 year cycle (The Kondratiev Cycle).
The Mayas believed that the world would end by a Flood at the end of a 52-year cycle in the beginning of November (All Saints Day). When this moment was passed they started the Fire Ceremoney.
On this evening, priests and a warrior chosen by the King began their 20 kilometer procession to the Hill of the Star. At the proper moment of alignment in the heavens, wood bundles representing the past 52 year cycle were lit, the heart sacrifice of the warrior was enacted and the new fire built on his chest.
Watching from afar, the citizens also cut and bled themselves and celebrated as the fire was brought back to the Great Temple. Priests and emissaries from outlying towns came to fetch the fire to bring back to their people, so that all could share in the marking of the time.
The Mayans and the Aztecs knew the world was already destroyed and re-created Four Times in the past and waited for the Fifth destruction (2012).
The Heart, Fire and Blood are the Symbols of the Holy Spirit and the Resurrection.
The Temple of Hathor in the ancient city of Denderah was dedicated to the goddess of Love and the stars of Hathor: the Pleiades.
A star clock in the Temple celebrates the Pleiades, marking the greater center on which our solar system revolves, taking 25,827.5 years to complete one cycle.
In Egypt, in the year 2170 BC, on the first day of spring, at precisely midnight. the Pleiades were visible through the south passageway of The Great pyramid. Cheops contains fascinating mathematical correlations to the Pleiades including, the seven mystical chambers.
The Seven visible stars of the Pleiades have been referred to by many names, such as the Seven Sisters, Krittika, Kimah, Flock of Doves, Hens, Virgins of Spring, Sailor’s Stars and the seven Atlantic Sisters. The Seven Sisters are Alcyone (Queen who wards off evil), Asterope(Twinkling), Electra (Flowing), Maia (Grandmother), Merope (Bee-Eater), Taygeta (Long-necked) and Celaeno (Swarthy). Their father was Atlas, The Axis Mundi, The World Pole.
The Dove is the symbol of Sufism and other Gnostic Believe Systems. The Dove was also the symbol of early Christianity until it was taken over by the Cult of Mitrash (The Male Principle). The Dove is the Holy Spirit or the Shekinah in Hebrew. In India the Pleiades are related to Agni (The Holy Fire) and another magical bird, The Peacock, the Egyptian Benu Bird. The Benu Bird was the Bird of the Egg of Creation of a new Universe.
In the Bible the Pleiades are called the Seven Stars. They are mentioned Seven Times in the Old and the New Testament. In Hebrew the Pleiades are called Kimah which means Tablet, or Cup. The Sumerian name for the Pleiades is dimmena, which means Foundation or Faithful.
The Pleiades represent the Spirits of Seven Churches in Asia Minor, which existed when John wrote the Revelation. Interesting enough the pattern of the Seven Churches looks like the pattern of the Pleiades. The map of the Pleiades is painted in the first Churches of Christ.
The Pleaiades are also associated with the Seven Golden Lampstands. The original Jewish Lampstand, the Menorah, contains 7 branches.
The number 7 (-3,-2,-1, 0, 1,2,3) is the symbol of the Trinity that voids itself in the Center, The Foundation. 7X7=49 means 13 (=4, The Four Forces) in the counting system of the Bible that is based on 9.
Amos 5:8 is the key. It associates the Pleiades with the resurrection (turning the shadow of death into the morning). Orion is associated with the darkness (occultism) that darkens even the day. The last player in the Biblical Story of the Pleiades is the Bear. As we will see later the Bear is the Symbol of Control.
The Pleiades are now part of the constellation of the Bull. The Bull contains the Orion-System which is called Kesil, the Fool, In Hebrew. It is said that once the constellation may have referred to the Messiah, but that Nimrod (Orion, The Hunter, The Trickster, The Fool) took it to himself.
Nimrod, King Menes, created his own Religion after the Great Flood. In this Religion the God of Love was replaced by the God of Revenge.
It seems that the Pleiades are the Center of the Influence of Peace, Compassion, Love and Water. This influence was removed by a Fool who moved the Constellation of the Pleiades into the Bull.
Mitrash was the fighter of the Bull. He was related to the Sun and later to the Archangel Michael. The Cult of Mitrash took over Eearly Christianity. All the Symbols and procedures of Mitrash can be found in the Symbols and Procedures of the Church of Rome.
Mitrash was the Cult of the Soldiers of the Roman Empire. Its history goes back to the time of Zoroaster (Persia). Mitrash was the Governor of the Cycle of the Sun.
The theme of the Fool shows itself in many civilizations. In a myth of the Maori one of the Seven Sisters was raped by the fool Kidili. In the Myths of the Greek the same story is told.
One day the Great Hunter Orion saw one of the Pleiades (Merope) as they walked through the countryside. He pursued here for Seven Years, until Zeus (Anu) answered her prayers for delivery. He transformed Merope and her Sisters into Doves and placed them among the Stars. Later on, when Zeus killed Orion, he was placed in the Underworld.
Merope married a mortal man, Sisyphus, and hid her face in shame at being the only one not married to a god and from shame at the deed; she alone of the sisters hides herself in the sky (the star does not shine). Sisyphus founded the city of Ephyre (Corinth).
Merope (also called Melissa) is a Bee-Eater and is most likely to have been a little She-Bear, a representative of Artemis. The goddess was pictured primitively with a she-bear’s head herself, and the bear remained sacred to Artemis into classical times. At a festival called the Brauronia, pre-pubescent girls were dressed in honey-colored yellow robes and taught to perform a bear dance. Once they had briefly served Artemis in this way, they would be ready to be married.
Merope is a Young Female Bear (a Virgin) who is raped by the Big Bear. The Big Bear and the Little Bear relate to two Starsystems Ursa Major (The Big Dipper) and Ursa Minor (The Little Dipper).
The Little Dipper contains The Pole Star. The Pole Star was the “Old” center of the Galaxy until the scientists of the old civilizations discovered the Precession Cycle. At that time the Sun Cycle and the Cycle of the Axis Mundi were balanced.
In early Greek mythology, the seven stars of the Little Dipper were considered to be the Hesperides, also daughters of Atlas. They were Nymphs who were protecting the Seven Apples in Paradise. Someday a Fool (Heracles) stole the Apples and the World got into big trouble because Atlas could not hold it anymore.
The Old Center of the Universe, the Pole Star, was Moved into the Bull by a Fool.
The central star of the System is called Alcyone. Many ancient traditions state that Alcyone was the Central Spiritual Sun, the Mother Sun that emits creative Light, that which births great teachers of Light into the world.
The early Arabs called her Al Jauz, the Walnut; Al Jauzah or Al Wasat, the Central One; and Al Na’ir, the Bright One; In Babylonia she was called Temennu, the Foundation Stone. The Mayas call her the Goddess. She is related with Compassion and the Womb (Rebirth).
Alcyone was a Greek goddess who was changed into a kingfisher by the gods after she threw herself into the sea upon finding the body of her drowned husband Ceyx washed up on the shore. Ceyx was also transformed into a kingfisher.
Cherokee myth describes the kingfisher as a wannabe water bird without webbed feet or a good fishing bill; the animals held a council and decided to give the bird a long sharp spear with which to fish. They fastened the spear onto the front of the bird’s mouth, and the kingfisher used it to dive from the trees and catch fish, becoming the best fisher of all.
A myth from the Andaman Islands off the coast of Thailand has the kingfisher stealing Fire (The Holy Ghost) from the gods and bringing it to the people.
Another legend claims the kingfisher was the second bird Noah sent to scout for land (the first was a dove), but she flew too high and scorched her breast, thus accounting for her blue back and rust-colored breast feathers.
Noah, exhibiting his wrath in the grand tradition of his Old Testament god, punishes her by making her catch her food from the water: thus the bird’s beauty and skill become a bad thing. Note that in this particular legend the bird is specifically female: kingfisher males do not have rust-colored breast feathers.
In Arthurian myth, the Holy Grail is held in a remote castle by a custodian known as the Fisher King. The Fisher King is wounded through the groin. He cannot be healed until the Grail (the Cup, The Pleiades) is brought back into the world.
The Symbol of the Bear returns into the figure of King Arthur (the Bear) and his Twelve Knights. The magician Merlyn is forced to play the role of Thoth but he refuses. Merlyn is a White Magician who did not wanted to use the Black Magic of Morgan Le Fey.
The seven days preceding the Winter Solstice and the seven days after it are know as the Halcyon Days, named after Alcyone.
It was during this time, according to ancient Greek mythology, that Alcyone kept the Waters Peaceful and calm so that she could build her nest upon the surface of the sea and sit on it until her Eggs hatched.
The last link I want to make is the link to Mary Magdalena. Mary is of the town Magdela or Migdal which was known as the Village of the Doves, a place where Sacred Doves were bred for the Goddess Temple of Isis.
Isis has many names like : The Brilliant One in the Sky, The Star of the Sea and She Who Knows How To Make Right Use of the Heart. Her dance of the Seven veils corresponds with the seven stars of the Pleiades.
The worship of Isis was merged into the Church of Rome by the worship of Mary and Mary Magdalena, the Black Madonna. In contrast with the male dominance of the Cult of Mitrash the cult of Isis was open to the “lower classes (the poor)” and females.
Again we see a relationship between the number Seven, Water, Fish (Christianity), The lost Female principle and an Evil force that has killed the Fisherman. The Fisher King is a symbol of Christ.
A very important event is the Great Flood, the moment when the Anunaki’s tried to destroy mankind. Christ, The Force of Love, is waiting until somebody finds the lost Cup, The Grail, The Pleiades.
This Force will return when the three cycles of the Sun (Mitrash, Church of Rome), the Pole Star (The Star of the Shaman in Siberia) and the Pleiades (The Mother Goddess) are balanced. According to the Mayas this will happen in 2012.
There is much more to say about the other (five) sisters of the Pleiades. The stories of all of them weave a complicated web of hidden codes. At this moment I don’t want to explain all of them. I want to “jump to a conclusion“.
What happened???
To find out what happened we have to move to a brilliant Cabbalist called Luria.
Rabbi Isaac Luria (1534-1572) was a Jewish Mystic in Safed.
At the moment of creation the Ein Sof (Without Ending) concentrated (Tzimtzum) Himself. From this concentration proceeded the Infinite Light. This Light enfolded itself into ten circles or vessels (kelim) called the Sefirot, (Circled Numbers).
The Three outermost circles were able to bear the light, the inner six were unable to do so, and burst.
As a result of this cosmic catastrophe, the Sefirot, are shattered and out of place, and the world within which we reside, is composed of the shards of the broken values. Six of the Ten Sefirot were fully shattered. Malchut (Earth), the 7th vessel was broken partially.
Humans are on this Earth to repair the Universe. We are here to raise the sparks of the Light (our Souls) to repair the broken vessels.
We raise the sparks when we act out of Love, our Heart. The Sparks are a symbol for our relationship with the Infinite Light.
The Sparks are also represented by the Flames of a Menorah.
The Sparks are helped by the Holy Spirit (In-Spiration).
The First Triangle is in balance but the next step in the Tree of Life, The Square is out of balance.
The Square is a symbol of the Four Forces and represents The Infinite Game of Creation.
The four Forces act on all the Levels. I want to move to the level of the Human to give you a “complete” picture.
The Four Forces are moving around the Centre. The Centre of the Human is the Heart. The Seven Sisters are implemented in the Seven Chakra’s. The Heart Chakra is in the Middle.
The Center of Control is situated in the “Head”.
When we want to Control we want to manage our Expectation (Hope) and be sure that everything happens according to our plans.
We are without any Faith about the Future. We are Thinking all the Time. The Head and the Governor can be found in the Star System The Great Bear or Ursa Major.
The Chinese astrologers named Ursa Minor “Prime Minister“, “Big Sun Governor“, “Minister of State“, “the 3 Dukes“, “Factory Chief“, along with many other ministers, chiefs, generals and people of high rank within the Imperial Court. The Bear is the symbol of Control.
When the vessels were broken the link between two forces called Control (The Sun, Mitrash, Apollo, Artemis, The Great Bear (Ursa Major)) and Desire (Ego, The Bull, Orion, Black Magic) became unstable. Mitrash is always Fighting the Bull. The Bull Fights in Spain are a simulation of this Fight. Humans are afraid to lose Control and when this feeling of Fear increases they become Paranoid.
In the myth of Mitrash the Bull was finally killed. Control took over Control. Many of the Religions that emerged out of Mitrash forced their members (all male!) to do many rituals to get rid of Desire.
The Roman Church invented the concept of Sin and Penetance to force the believers to fight their Impulses. The force of Desire is related to the Impulses and the lower chakras. It is about Sex without Love, Violence and all kinds of Addictions.
The Force of Control defines Rules and the force of Desire (the Ego) fights the Rules. Both of them are Extremes. They are Male/Male and Female/Female.
The two other forces are Male/Female. They are bisexual and related to Spirit (The Force of Creation) and Soul (The Force of Love, The Pleiades). They are not aggressive and unable to fight because they are non-violent.
The Star System of the Pleiades is sending the Force of Love and this Force is not a Strong Force. It Knocks at the Door of Your Soul and it Whispers in your Ear. It asks you to take care of Your Self and the Other. It asks you to become Conscious and to look at the World. It only asks you to act in you’re own context and to give unconditional love.
I end with a Piece of Poetry send by Paul to the City of Merope, Corinth; It will Help her to find Rest and to forget the acts of the Big Bear of Control who lost his temper when he was taken by the Bull of Desire. She and her six Sisters have to lead us back to Paradise.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Revelation - Chapter 1
The 7 Lamp Stands, Spirits, and Stars
Revelation 1:4 – John to the seven assemblies that [are] in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the Seven Spirits that are before His throne, (YLT)
Revelation 1:11-12 – ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last;’ and , ‘What thou dost see, write in a scroll, and send to the seven assemblies that [are] in Asia to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.’ And I did turn to see the voice that did speak with me, and having turned, I saw seven golden lamp-stands, (YLT)
Revelation 1:20 – the secret of the seven stars that thou hast seen upon my right hand, and the seven golden lamp-stands: the seven stars are messengers of the seven assemblies, and the seven lamp-stands that thou hast seen are seven assemblies. (YLT)
What are these passages talking about? First of all, you have to know about the physical golden lamp stand, which is called the menorah in Hebrew. The lamp stand weighted over 100 pounds and stood on the south side in the Holy Place of the Tabernacle as mentioned in Exodus.
Exodus 25:31-32 – ‘And thou hast made a candlestick of pure gold, of beaten work is the candlestick made; its base, and its branch, its calyxes, its knops, and its flowers are of the same; and six branches are coming out of its sides, three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the second side; (YLT)
There are seven branches of the lamp stand, hence giving us the seven lamp stands mentioned in Revelation. What do these represent? Revelation 1:20 says that the seven lamp stands are seven assemblies. Revelation 1:11 says that the seven assemblies are the seven churches:
1. Ephesus
2. Smyrna
3. Pergamos
4. Thyatira
5. Sardis
6. Philadelphia
7. Laodicea
Note that these churches are not only physical churches during John’s time, but also represent seven church ages which we will talk about later.
Next is the seven spirits mentioned in Revelation 1:4. The Bible often compares the Holy Spirit to light. Also, each of the seven lamp stands have lights on them. So the seven lights and the seven spirits are the same thing. The names of the spirits can be found in Isaiah:
Isaiah 11:2 – Rested on him hath the Spirit of Jehovah, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and fear of Jehovah. (YLT)
Therefore the list of the spirits is as follows:
1. The Spirit of the Lord
2. The Spirit of Wisdom
3. The Spirit of Understanding
4. The Spirit of Counsel
5. The Spirit of Strength
6. The Spirit of Knowledge
7. The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord
These spirits are the aspects of God. Jesus Christ had all of these spirits within Him. Isaiah and John are saying that for any man to have the fullness of the Holy Spirit, they must have all seven of these aspects of God.
Lastly is the seven stars mentioned in Revelation 1:20. These are referring to actual stars. Look at Genesis:
Genesis 1:14 – And God saith, ‘Let luminaries be in the expanse of the heavens, to make a separation between the day and the night, then they have been for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years, (YLT)
Therefore, the stars and constellations are prophetic signs, but not in the way horoscopes claim they are. They represent God’s plan to redeem mankind. We could go into detail about each constellation, but let’s stay on the topic of the seven stars. In the constellation of Taurus, there is a open star cluster called Pleiades, or the Seven Sisters. Pleiades can be seen by the naked eye because it is only about 8 light years away. (see picture below) In Hebrew, Pleiades is called Succoth, which also means the Feast of Tabernacles, which I mentioned in my article on The Second Coming. The Feast of Tabernacles represents a very important age which begins with the second coming of Jesus Christ.
To summarize, here are the symbols:
1. seven lamp stands = seven churches
2. seven spirits = seven aspects of the Holy Spirit
3. seven stars = Pleiades = Feast of Tabernacles
Finally, remember from the Lake of Fire that a Jubilee cycle is 49 years, which is 7x7. So if each of the seven churches gain all seven aspects of the spirit, this will lead to spiritual fulfillment, and thus the age of Tabernacles when Christ comes again.

Cabalá y Vida Moderna- Viviendo con el Tiempo
Un Mensaje de Torá para el mes de Elul
De acuerdo con el Sefer Ietzirá, cada mes del año judío tiene una letra del alfabeto hebreo, un signo del zodíaco, una de las doce tribus de Israel, un sentido, y un órgano controlador del cuerpo que le corresponde.
Elul es el sexto de los doce meses del calendario judío.
Es llamado "el mes del arrepentimiento", "el mes de la misericordia" y "el mes del perdón". Elul sigue a los meses Tamuz y Av, los meses donde tuvieron lugar los dos grandes pecados de Israel, el del becerro de oro y el de los espías.
Las cuatro letras de la palabra Elul son un acrónimo de las letras iniciales de la frase del Cantar de los Cantares (6:3): "Yo soy para mi amado y mi amado es para mi". "Yo soy para mi amado" en arrepentimiento y deseo consumado de retornar a la raíz de mi alma en Di-s. "Y mi amado es para mi" con una expresión Divina de misericordia y perdón.
Este es el mes en el cual "el Rey se encuentra en el campo". Todos se pueden acercar a El, y El hace resplandecer Su semblante hacia todos.
Elul es el mes de la preparación para las supremas festividades de Tishrei En el cual Moisés ascendió al Monte Sinaí por tercera vez por un período de cuarenta días desde Rosh Jodesh Elul hasta Iom Kipur, cuando descendió con las segundas "tablas del testimonio". Estos fueron días en donde Di-s reveló gran misericordia al pueblo judío.
En "numeración pequeña", Elul = 13, aludiendo a los 13 principios de misericordia Divina que son revelados en el mes de Elul.
 Color: rojo.
Letra: iud.
La iud es la primera letra del Tetragramaton, Havaiá, el Nombre esencial de Di-s, el de la misericordia. Es también la letra final del Nombre Adnut, el Nombre que incluye el Nombre Havaiá para revelarlo y expresarlo en el mundo. Así la iud es el comienzo (de la esencia de misericordia Divina, Havaiá) y el final (de la manifestación de misericordia Divina, Adnut)
Todas las formas creadas comienzan con un "punto" esencial de energía y fuerza de vida, el de la letra iud. El final del proceso creativo es igualmente un "punto" de consumación y satisfacción, una iud. "En el principio Di-s creó …" es el punto inicial, "y Di-s finalizó en el séptimo día …"es el punto final.
La palabra iud posee la misma raíz que "mano" (iad). Nuestros sabios interpretan el versículo: "Incluso Mi mano ha fundado la tierra, y Mi derecha ha desarrollado los cielos", como que "Di-s extendió su mano derecha y creó los cielos y extendió su mano izquierda y creó la tierra". La mano derecha es el punto de iniciación y la izquierda es el del final".
En estos versos, la mano izquierda ("Mi mano, sin ninguna especificación de deracha o izquierda) aparece antes de la mano derecha. Esto concuerda con la opinión de Hillel que "la tierra precede [a los cielos]". La tierra representa la consumación de la Creación, "lo último en la acción es lo primero en el pensamiento".
La iud de Elul es, en particular, la mano izquierda, el controlador del sentido del mes, el sentido de acción y rectificación. Este es el punto final de la Creación que alcanza su propósito final, la iud de Adnut, reflejando perfectamente en la realidad creada la iud de Havaiá.
Mazal: betulá (Virgo - virgen).
La betulá simboliza la novia amada de Di's, Israel, la novia del Cantar de los Cantares quien dice a su novio "Yo soy para mi amado y mi amado es para mi".
La palabra betulá aparece por primera vez en la Torá (y la única vez describiendo a una mujer específica, alabando a nuestra matriarca Rebeca, antes de su casamiento con Isaac.
En cabalá, la unión de Isaac y Rebeca simboliza el servicio espiritual de la plegaria y la devoción a Di-s. Isaac (Itzjak = 208) más Rebeca (Rivka = 307) = 515 = tefilá, "plegaria".
En jasidut el verso "Yo soy para mi amado y mi amado para mi", hace referencia, en particular, al servicio de plegaria del mes de to Elul.
La "virgen" de Elul (Rebeca) da a luz (retroactivamente, con respecto al orden de los meses del año) a los "mellizos" de Sivan (Iacob y Esav, los hijos de Rebeca, como se explica arriba). Las primeras tablas, entregadas en Sivan, fueron quebradas (a causa del pecado), las segundas, dadas a Moises en Elul (el mes del arrepentimiento) están enteras. El arrepentimiento es identificado en cabalá con la "madre" (en general y Rebeca en particular). "Madre corresponde a la sefirá de biná = 67 = Elul.
En Cabalá la "madre" permanece por siempre "virgen" (en el plano espiritual). En un estado continuo de teshuvá y tefilá su "siempre nueva" unión con el "padre" nunca cesa - "dos compañeros que nunca se separan". Tal va a ser el estado de la novia y el novio de aquí abajo con la llegada del Mashiaj. "Padre" y "madre" corresponde a las primeras dos letras de Havaiá - "la unión superior"; "novio" y "novia" o "hijo" e " hija" corresponden al segundo par de letras de Havaiá - "la unión inferior").
La betulá simboliza también la "tierra virgen", la tierra de Israel destinada a casarse con el pueblo de Israel, como declara el profeta: "como un joven desposa a una virgen, así tus hijos te desposaran [la tierra de Israel]" (Isaias 62:5). Aquí vemos que los hijos desposan a la "madre tierra" que permanece "tierra virgen".
La tierra representa la rectificación de la acción, el sentido del mes de Elul, como se describe arriba.
Tribu: Gad.
Gad comparte su raíz gramatical con "campamentos", como en el versículo en que nuestro patriarca Iacob bendice a su hijo Gad: "Gad organizará [lit. campamento] campamentos [del ejercito], y volverá con todos sus campamentos" (Génesis 49:19). El talento especial de Gad es organizar una "compañía".
Gad se puede interpretar también como "buena fortuna". Es la verdadera "buena fortuna" de Israel de ser la novia amada de Di-s, y esto se revela por medio de nuestras buenas acciones, especialmente aquellas que intentan rectificar nuestras imperfecciones y embellecernos, como la novia para su novio.
La "buena fortuna" de Gad se relaciona en cabalá con los trece principios de misericordia que son revelados en este mes, para despertar el alma desde su raíz (su "buena fortuna") para que retorne a Di-s.
Gad = 7. Gad fue el séptimo hijo que le nació a Iacob. Mazal, la palabra más común para "buena fortuna" = 77. La letra del medio de mazal es zain = 7. Cuando las dos letras gimmel dalet que forman el nombre Gad (= 7) son substituidas por zain (= 7) de mazal, se forma la palabra migdal, "torre" Declara el versículo: "Una torre [migdal = 77] de poder [oz = 77] es el Nombre de Di-s, en la que marchará el tzadik y será exaltado". En cabalá, la "torre de poder" representa a la novia, la betulá de Elul, el alma-raíz y mazal del pueblo judío. El tzadik, el novio, marcha con todo su poder, para entrar a la "torre de poder".
Sentido: acción.
Acción es el sentido y "conocimiento" interior por el cual uno es capaz de rectificar siempre cualquier imperfección o estado de quiebre del alma por medio de actos devotos de bondad. Este es el sentido necesario para el servicio espiritualde Elul, el servicio de arrepentimiento y teshuvá verdadera hacia Di-s. El sentido de acción es así el de no desesperar nunca. Este es el "punto", la iud de Elul, del servicio Divino, sin el cual uno nunca puede empezar una acción o terminarla.
Este sentido es la inclinación a arreglar un objeto roto ("salvar" una situación) más que desecharla
Sumado a esto, es el sentido de organización y el de administración de sistemas complejos (como Gad, la tribu de Elul significa "campamentos" y "compañía").
Se dice de la iud de Elul: "Con sabiduría [el punto de la iud] Di-s hizo [rectificó] la tierra [el sentido de la acción]".
Controlador: la mano izquierda.
Como se mencionó anteriormente, Di-s estiró Su mano izquierda para crear la tierra, y "Con sabiduría Di-s creó la tierra" [Proverbs 3:19]).
La mano derecha (la más espiritual de la dos manos, que creó los cielos - "Eleva tus ojos y ve Quién creó esto" - la dimensión interna y espiritual de la realidad) controla el sentido de la vista, mientras que la izquierda (más física) controla el sentido de la acción.
La mitzvá (mandamiento de acción) de los tefilin shel yad (filacterías de la mano) se realiza en el brazo izquierdo, la mano derecha los coloca en la izquierda, es decir, "ve" sus acciones realizarse en la izquierda.
Es la mano izquierda la que toca el corazón, esto nos enseña que toda acción rectificada deriva de las buenas intenciones y emociones del corazón.

Asunción de María o Asunción de la Virgen es la creencia, de acuerdo a la tradición y teología de la Iglesia ortodoxa y de la Iglesia católica, de que el cuerpo y alma de la Virgen María fueron llevados al cielo después de terminar sus días en la tierra.
Este traslado es llamado Assumptio Beatæ Mariæ Virginis (Asunción de la Bienaventurada Virgen María) por los católicos romanos, cuya doctrina fue definida como dogma (verdad de la que no puede dudarse) por el Papa Pío XII el 1 de noviembre de 1950. La Iglesia Católica celebra esta fiesta en honor de la Virgen María en Oriente desde el siglo VI y en Roma desde el siglo VII. La festividad se celebra el 15 de agosto.

Sara, Rajel y Janá - Una lectura de Rosh Hashaná por Ethel Barylka
Sara, Rajel y Janá son mencionadas en la lectura de la Torá y la Haftará de Rosh Hashaná . Las tres mujeres quedaron fijadas en nuestra memoria como estériles.
De acuerdo a nuestros sabios estas lecturas fueron estipuladas por el hecho de que “en Rosh Hashaná Sara, Rajel y Janá quedaron preñadas” (Tratado de Rosh Hashaná 11 a).
Los hijos de estas mujeres cambiarían el curso de la historia nacional, pese a que sus relaciones parentales no fueron nada simples. Poco después del nacimiento de Itzjak, su hermano Ishmael fue expulsado del hogar, y posteriormente Itzjak es conducido a la atadura destinado a ser ofrenda.
Iosef, primogénito de Rajel, goza de un trato privilegiado por parte de su padre sin el cual toda la historia de la venta de Iosef, el descenso de los Hijos de Israel a Egipto y el Éxodo se verían completamente diferentes. Shmuel, hijo de Janá, entregado por su madre para el Servicio Divino, se transformará en el profeta que consagraría a los primeros reyes de la nación.
El inicio del año nos trae una presencia femenina de la cual es difícil abstraerse. La Creación en sí, festejada apenas unos días antes de la inauguración del año, es descripta como un acto femenino “Haiom Harat Olam” – “Hoy es concebido el mundo”, como si el Santo Bendito Sea hubiera dado a luz al mundo al igual que las mujeres recordadas.
El nacimiento es una nueva vida. Símbolo de la renovación posible, de la esperanza, de la superación de nosotros mismo, en una especie de nuevo nacimiento. Se centra y ensimisma el hombre sobre sí mismo, para traer con el inicio del año una vida renovada. Quien logra reconocer el mal que hizo, el daño que perpetró, la insensatez con la que actuó, y logra avergonzarse y reconocerla, arrepintiéndose de su acción, perdonándose a sí mismo y a los demás, gozará de una nueva vida, un nuevo nacimiento. Dijeron nuestro sabios “…todo quien comete una transgresión y se avergüenza de ello – le son perdonados todos sus pecados” (Tratado de Berajot 12b). Quien sabe avergonzarse, merece nacer de nuevo. Reconoce el daño cometido contra el otro pero también contra su propia esencia, ya que su conducta es grosera incluso hacia su alma.
Rosh Hashaná es la única festividad del calendario hebreo que cae a inicio del mes. A diferencia de otras fiestas no está relacionado a ningún evento histórico (Purim, Janucá) ni a ninguna de las fechas de peregrinaje a Jerusalén (Pesaj, Shavuot, Sucot). No se relaciona al tiempo sino al individuo, no es “zman jerutenu” – el día de nuestra liberación- ni es “zman matán torá” – “el día de la entrega de la Torá”, sino que es el Día del Toquido del Shofar – Iom Teruá- el Día del Recuerdo – Iom Zicarón- el Día del Juicio – Iom Hadín.
El año que se regresa y se inicia es esperanza de cambio. Cambio relacionado directamente con nuestra posibilidad de cambiar y renovarnos.
Nótese que en hebreo la palabra año – Shaná – y la palabra cambio – shinui – tienen la misma raíz. Pero “shinui” no es sólo cambio sino también repetición. El año, aquello que se repite pero que es y puede ser diferente. El ser humano, como la luna en Rosh Hashaná está vuelto hacia sí mismo, intentando acercarse a la fuente de su propia luz, para rescatar de ella, para aspirar de su contacto la fuerza de la renovación. Las tres mujeres de la lectura nos recuerdan que es posible. Que también de la oscuridad de la esterilidad puede surgir el nuevo ciclo.
Rosh Hashaná es conforme a la tradición judía el día de la creación del Hombre. El mortal es invitado en ese día a unirse a las fibras más intimas de su alma. El individuo que tiene la posibilidad de renovarse porque también es quien tiene la posibilidad de errar, reconocer el error, corregirlo y elegir el bien. El hombre que es único ser de la Creación que conoce el Bien y el Mal. El mundo carecería de significado sin la presencia humana. El es el único ser con capacidad reflectiva. De aquí que Rosh Hashaná se identifique con el nacimiento del Hombre, finalidad de la Creación. “…porque el mundo fue creado para el uso del hombre. Porque si el hombre se deja llevar por el mundo y se aparta de su Creador, entonces el hombre se arruina y devasta al mundo con él. SI la persona se domina a sí misma y se adhiere a su Creador, entonces se eleva y el mundo se enaltece con él” (Rajmal – El sendero de los Justos, capítulo 1).
Tener la capacidad de unirnos a nuestra propia esencia humana, no sólo implica una humanidad mejor sino un mundo mejor.
Que nuestras plegarias se eleven desde el lugar más esencial y auténtico.
Que Janá como dijeran nuestros sabios sea ejemplo de cómo debe realizarse la plegaria, no sólo por el silencio y la no ostentación de la misma, sino y antes que nada, por la real conexión con su esencia, su vida, sus necesidades verdaderas.
Que el nacimiento del año, memoria del nacimiento de la humanidad, nos permita renacer, renovados.
