En diversos periodos de la historia ha sido tema de especulaciones místicas; probablemente los primeros fueron los Pitagóricos, que la consideraban una figura sagrada. La razón matemática de su anchura (medida por los puntos extremos del "cuerpo", sin incluir la "cola") por su altura fue aproximada por el cociente 265:153. Esta razón, que da 1,73203, se consideró un número sagrado llamado la medida del pez. Exactamente, la razón geométrica de estas dimensiones es la raíz cuadrada de 3, o 1,73205... (ya que si se traza la línea recta que une los centros de ambos círculos, junto con los dos puntos donde los círculos se intersecan, se obtienen dos triángulos equiláteros unidos por un lado). El cociente 265:153 es una aproximación a la raíz cuadrada de 3, y tiene la propiedad de que no se puede obtener ninguna aproximación mejor con números más pequeños. INICIACIÓN A LOS NÚMEROS DE LA ARQUITECTURA O DE COMO DARLE FORMA A UN EDIFICIO
Los números pueden estar explicados matemáticamente en la “red” pero el problema que plantea el conocimiento de la arquitectura es: ¿cómo se le da forma con esos números a un edificio?. En arquitectura los números operan a partir de los polígonos estrellados formando concatenaciones, tal y como a continuación vamos a describir.
NÚMERO DE ORO - PENTÁGONO
El número de oro viene dado por la solución a la ecuación de segundo grado
x + x² = 1 x = 1+√5 /2 = 1,618033989
Propiedades 1/ 1,618 = 0,618 1,618... x 1,618... = 2,618...
Dado una circunferencia de radio 1 el lado del decágono inscrito en él es 0,618...
Dado un pentágono de lado 1, las diagonales de ese pentágono = 1,618...
La técnica con la que opera la arquitectura es la de las concatenaciones.
Una de ellas, la más usual, es la que presentamos en el dibujo. Si la circunferencia en color azul tiene R=1 el radio de la roja es R= 2,618, correspondiente a la que presentamos en “El vitruvio” de Leonardo da Vinci en la portada de este trabajo.
Se aplicará en la restitución de una tabla de F. Brunelleschi Nº 6.
 
NÚMERO DE PLATA - EL OCTÓGONO
Así como el número de oro está asociado a la √5 el número de plata está asociado a √2 y presenta una serie de propiedades similares a las del número de oro.
√2 = 1,414213562 tg. 22,5º = 0,414213562
tg.67,5º = 2,414213562
1/2,4142... = 0,4142... 2,4142... x 1,4142... = 3,4142...
Observa nuevamente la concatenación, esta vez con el octógono, de la circunferencia en color azul sobre la de color rojo.
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 1 la de color rojo es 2,4142....
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 0,4142... la de rojo es 1.

De igual forma que el número de oro está relacionado con la √5 y el de plata con la √2, el de platino lo va a estar con la √3

Combinación, esta, muy utilizada por Andrea Palladio.
Observa la concatenación de la circunferencia azul sobre la de rojo, a través del hexágono, directamente a la circunferencia azul. Si el radio de la circunferencia color azul es 1 el de la circunferencia en color rojo es 2 y el lado del triángulo inscrito es 2 x 1,732...
Este polígono es el más prolífico en la historia de arquitectura como vamos a verlo en los ejercicios.

Eye of Horus (Subliminals)
Stargate is a 1994 American adventure-military science fiction film released through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and Carolco Pictures. Created by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, the film is the first release in the Stargate franchise. Directed by Roland Emmerich, the film stars Kurt Russell, James Spader, Jaye Davidson, Carlos Lauchu, Djimon Hounsou, Erick Avari, Alexis Cruz, Mili Avital, John Diehl, French Stewart, and Viveca Lindfors. The plot centers around the premise of a “Stargate”, an ancient ring-shaped device that creates a wormhole enabling travel to a similar device elsewhere in the universe. The film’s central plot explores the theory of extraterrestrial beings having an influence upon human civilization.
PLOT SUMMARY
 The film begins in 1928, where Professor Langford discovers a massive stone ring in the sands of Giza, Egypt. In the present day, Langford’s daughter Catherine offers Egyptologist Daniel Jackson, a down-on-his-luck linguistics professor, the chance to translate ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs that may prove his controversial theory regarding the Pyramid of Khufu. Jackson accepts and travels to a US Air Force installation inside Creek Mountain, Colorado. Jackson translates the hieroglyphs on the stone ring’s coverstones, which read: “A million years into the sky is Ra. Sealed and buried for all time, his Stargate.” Formerly retired Special Forces Colonel Jack O’Neil arrives to take command of the project and declares it classified.
Jackson deduces that the symbols are star constellations that are coordinates for a location within space. The sequence is entered into the stargate, creating a wormhole to a location in another galaxy. After O’Neil leads a team through the Stargate, they find themselves inside a pyramid in the middle of vast sand dunes. Jackson reveals they cannot dial home because the Stargate coordinates to go back to Earth are missing. Some team members stay at the pyramid while Jackson, O’Neil, and others go out and discover a mining village inhabited by humans who assume them to be gods sent by Ra.
Jackson realizes that the people speak a dialect of Ancient Egyptian and begins communicating with them. The team develops friendships with the people; O’Neil with Skaara, and Jackson begins a budding romance with Sha’uri, a daughter of the leader. Jackson learns from hieroglyphs in the catacombs how the Egyptian god Ra was actually an alien life form who enslaved humans with his advanced technology. While these humans eventually rebelled and buried the Stargate, some had been taken to the other planet through the Stargate and used to mine the quartzite-like mineral on which all of Ra’s technology is based. Fearing another rebellion on this planet, Ra outlawed reading and writing. At this point, the team from Earth discovers the coverstone to get back to Earth, but the seventh symbol is eroded away.
O’Neil orders the team to return to the pyramid. A short time later, a huge spacecraft lands on top of the pyramid. All team members in the pyramid are either killed or taken into the pyramidal craft. O’Neil and Jackson are escorted to the throne room, where they meet Ra. Despite wearing fearsome armor, Ra’s guards and servants are human. Ra reveals his intention to send the atomic bomb brought by O’Neil, which was to be used to destroy the Stargate to prevent invasion by any threat, back to Earth; it is now enhanced with his quartzite-like material to produce cataclysmic results. O’Neil attempts to disarm the guards and kill Ra, but relents when Ra uses his children courtiers as human shields. Jackson is killed during the altercation. O’Neil is thrown into a dungeon with the captured team members, while Jackson is regenerated in a sarcophagus-like device. Ra states that he will kill Jackson and everyone who has seen him unless Jackson kills the rest of the team to show the villagers that Ra is their one true god.
However, once Ra has the local people gathered before the pyramid craft, several young villagers signal to Jackson that they have recovered the team’s weapons. Jackson then shoots at Ra while the kids create a distraction. O’Neil, Jackson, and the rest of the team flee Ra’s ship and take shelter in a cave with the boys. The next morning, when Skaara draws a picture of the people’s victory against Ra, Jackson realizes that part of this drawing depicts the seventh symbol needed to reactivate the Stargate: three moons over a pyramid.
O’Neil convinces the locals that their “gods” are mere mortals and, with their help, O’Neil, Jackson, and the remaining members of the team make it back to the Stargate hoping to deactivate the bomb. When the locals begin an open rebellion against Ra’s troops, Ra decides to retreat and prepares his ship for takeoff. Sha’uri is killed in the battle, but Jackson resurrects her in Ra’s sarcophagus and manages to escape when O’Neil activates the ship’s ring transporter. Unable to deactivate the bomb, O’Neil and Jackson transport the bomb to Ra’s ship in orbit via the rings where it explodes, killing Ra. The team is able to return to Earth through the Stargate, though Jackson decides to remain on the planet.

Venus y la Tierra danzan en sincronía matemática y geométrica en el salón del Espacio, al son de la sutilísima vibración de la música de las esferas, pues esferas son. El milenario mito de la llamada "Música de las Esferas" es mito mientras no se comprende qué es o a qué se refiere. Si continúas observando podrás comprobar cómo Venus y la Tierra continúan trazando la figura pentagonal, aunque ya no desde el mismo punto que la anterior. De hecho, comienzan una nueva 2,33 días antes que la anterior. La actual la comenzaron el 8 de junio de 2004 y termina el 6 de junio de 2012. Esto significa que esa estrella de 5 puntas gira también alrededor del Sol hasta dar una vuelta en 1.252 años: un Ciclo mayor compuesto por 156 subciclos Pentagonales (1.252 órbitas de la Tierra y 2.035 de Venus). Así es como los planetas crean los Ciclos Cósmicos. 1.252 años son 457.457 días, que es prácticamente 676 x 676 ó 26x26x26x26 ó (13+13)x(13+13)x(13+13)x(13+13) días.
Aquí puedes verlo de otra manera comenzando desde el 8 de junio de 2004 (cuando se produjo un tránsito de Venus) hasta el 6 de junio de 2012 en que se produce otro tránsito. Puedes hacer click sobre la escena repetidamente.

Los números 5, 8 y 13 son números consecutivos de la serie Fibonacci en la que cada número dividido por su anterior tiende al valor del número Phi, el que marca la llamada "proporción divina" de ciertos elementos de la Naturaleza, por no decir muchos o todos, y entre los cuales están las propias piezas que componen el esqueleto de nuestros cuerpos: los huesos. En la vigésima división de la serie Fibonacci, entre los números 6.765 y 4.181, se obtiene un valor de phi afinado hasta el sexto decimal: 1'6180339. También se puede ver que los números de la serie Fibonacci 6.765 y 4.181 como días terrestres convertidos a Tzolkins son 26 y 16 Tzolkin, y mientras el año de la Tierra (365 días) es 1,62 veces más largo que el de Venus (225 días), siendo 1,62 el redondeo de 1,618 que es el valor de Phi, en el ciclo sinódico Venus da 2'6 órbitas y la Tierra da 1'6 (fracciones de 26 y 16). Y por fin, reproduciendo los tres números de la serie Fibonacci 5, 8 y 13 en el ciclo pentagonal resulta que 5 es el número de encuentros entre La Tierra y Venus durante 8 órbitas de la Tierra y 13 de Venus.
Viendo desde el planeta Tierra, desde el meridiano del mediodía, sin que gire el planeta (pero sí trasladándose) y acelerando mucho el movimiento de los astros hasta que en 20 segundos transcurrieran 8 años, podríamos ver a Venus realizar 5 movimientos retrógrados cada 8 años, 2 en forma de lazo, 1 en zig zag (cruzando la eclíptica) y otros 2 de nuevo en forma de lazo (casi simétricos a los dos primeros). Los trazos en forma de lazo los realiza por encima o debajo de la eclíptica según ande circulando por el nodo superior o inferior de su órbita (inclinada respecto a la de la Tierra). Empleando una expresión metafórica, son las Curvas de Venus.
También podemos verlas como las letras gráficas del lenguaje venusiano. Tales trazos derivan gradualmente en el cielo terrestre cada 8 años en sentido contrario al del Sol ante el fondo fijo de las estrellas y las constelaciones, de modo que desde hace unos 100 años, el movimiento en zig zag de Venus ha venido ocurriendo sobre la constelación de Orión.
El 13 es número basico en el Ciclo Pentagonal, pues es el número de órbitas de Venus, de modo que en 13 Ciclos Pentagonales Venus da 169 órbitas (13x13). Este ciclo de 13 ciclos Pentagonales es 37.960 días durante los que Venus realiza 65 ciclos sinódicos (o alineamientos con la Tierra) y en los que también intervienen 146 ciclos del Tzolkin 146 e incluso 104 del Haab (103,96 años de 365,2422 años). Vemos que el el 65 y el 104 son múltiplos del 13.

La massoneria a Venezia e la Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena
Venezia, da sempre città magica e misteriosa, fu sede già nel XVIII secolo di importante loggia massonica di cui faceva parte anche il famoso avventuriero Giacomo Casanova.
Questa loggia massonica era così ricca e potente da riuscire a far costruire un’intera chiesa seguendo le dottrine della massoneria: la chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena a Cannaregio.
Alcuni esponenti della famiglia Baffo, membri della Massoneria a Venezia, affidarono il progetto di questa chiesa ‘massonica’ all’architetto Tommaso Temanza, un confratello, che progettò un edificio perfettamente circolare in stile neoclassico e fece incidere sull’architrave della porta un simbolo della Massoneria, l’occhio inscritto in un cerchio e in una piramide, e l’iscrizione ‘SAPIENTIA EDIFICAVIT SIBI DOMUM’, un riferimento al culto per la divina sapienza, fondamento della massoneria.
Lo stesso Temanza è seppellito dentro la chiesa e la sua pietra tombale è adornata da una riga e un compasso, il simbolo più importante della Massoneria, perché i confratelli si definivano ‘muratori’.
Non è un caso poi che questa chiesa ‘massonica’ sia dedicata proprio a Maria Maddalena, personaggio enigmatico e spesso rifiutato dalla chiesa ufficiale, ma molto amato invece dalla Massoneria che vedeva in lei un simbolo di sapienza e della lotta contro l’oscurantismo della chiesa.

La Flor de la Vida y los Sólidos Platónicos
Hay muchas creencias espirituales asociadas con la Flor de la Vida. Se considera que la teoría de los 5 Sólidos Platónicos (tetraedro, cubo, octaedro, dodecaedro e icosaedro) podría haber derivado de la Flor de la Vida. Los Sólidos Platónicos son poliedros regulares, convexos donde las caras son polígonos regulares congruentes, con el mismo número de caras en cada vértice. Reciben su nombre en honor al filósofo griego Platón (427 a. C. – 347 a. C.), a quien se atribuye haberlos estudiado en primera instancia. Estos objetos son formas geométricas que, se dice, actúan como una plantilla de la cual brota toda vida.
Sólidos Platónicos
Las propiedades de estos poliedros son conocidas desde la antigüedad clásica. Se les llegó a atribuir incluso propiedades mágicas o místicas; Timeo de Locri, en el diálogo de Platón dice «El fuego está formado por tetraedros; el aire, de octaedros; el agua, de icosaedros; la tierra de cubos; y como aún es posible una quinta forma, Dios ha utilizado ésta, el dodecaedro pentagonal, para que sirva de límite al mundo».
El símbolo de “Fruto de la Vida” está compuesto por 13 círculos tomados desde el diseño de la Flor de la Vida. En el marco del conocimiento esotérico se dice que el Fruto de la Vida es el plano del universo, conteniendo la estructura de cada átomo, molécula y toda forma de vida. Asimismo, se dice que contiene la base geométrica para la delineación del Cubo de Metatron, el cual pone de manifiesto los sólidos platónicos. Si el centro de cada círculo es considerado un “nodo”, y cada nodo está conectado a otro nodo con una sola línea, se crean un total de setenta y ocho líneas, formando un tipo de cubo (El Cubo de Metatron).
El Cubo de Metatrón
En este punto viene al caso agregar que se han encontrado, predominantemente en Escocia, aunque también en Inglaterra e Irlanda, unas misteriosas esferas de piedra tallada geométricamente. Las mismas están hechas de diferentes materiales, desde piedra arenisca a granito, los arqueólogos creen que podrían remontarse al 4000 a.C.

Los patrones simétricos en relieve sugieren que quien haya hecho esos objetos tuvo conocimiento de geometría y puede incluso haber sido capaces de representar los Sólidos Platónicos.
Esferas Talladas Solidos Platonicos
Se desconoce por completo su función y con que tecnología y conocimientos pudieron haberse hecho. Se piensa que pueden haber sido utilizadas para arrojarse como proyectiles con una correa, pero no se encontraron marcas en las piedras que indiquen tal uso, y tampoco hace sentido tanta dedicación en su tallado para luego ser arrojadas. Otras explicaciones incluyen que se utilizaron como pesas para las redes de pesca, pero otra vez, no explica el porque de la complejidad de su elaboración.
La Flor de la Vida y el Toroide (o Torus)
También se ha relacionado a la Flor de la Vida con el modelo de energía toroidal. La Energía Toroidal esta basada en un vórtice de energía, en forma de dona/esfera, en la cual la energía es constantemente traccionada hacia dentro y proyectándose hacia afuera, en una sucesión infinita.
Animación Toroide
Un toroide consta de un eje central por donde fluye la energía, desde un extremo al otro, y un campo circundante coherente. El Toroide es el modelo que utiliza la naturaleza para manifestarse. Está en perpetuo equilibrio, completitud y movimiento.

El científico y filósofo Arthur Young, explica que un toroide es el único patrón de energía o dinámica que puede sostenerse a sí mismo (auto-sustentable) y está hecho de la misma sustancia que el entorno – como un tornado, del aire, y un remolino, del agua.
Tierra/Toroide
Su forma varía de tipo rosquilla a tipo esfera, dependiendo del medio en el que se genera. Un anillo de humo en el aire adquiere forma de rosquilla, mientras que una manzana toma una forma más esférica.

Se denomina “Punto Cero” al instante medio del eje central, en el cual las fuerzas de tracción/expulsión se neutralizan, y del cual surge todo el sistema toroidal.
Punto cero / corte transversal toroide
La idea de lo infinito, con un punto cero donde se neutralizan las fuerzas y donde todo comienza/termina no es en absoluto un concepto nuevo. El Uróboros es un símbolo que muestra a un animal serpentiforme, engullendo su propia cola, conformando con su cuerpo una forma circular o de “8″. El uróboros es un concepto empleado en diversas y distantes culturas ancestrales desde hace por lo menos 3000 años. En algunas de sus representaciones lleva por complemento la inscripción que dice: “el Uno es el Todo”, “Todo parte del Uno y vuelve al Uno, para el Uno, por el Uno y en el Uno”.

Los huracanes, los tornados, los campos magnéticos de los planetas y de las estrellas, y galaxias en sí, son todos los sistemas de energía toroidal.

The Flower of Life
|
Introduction
The "Flower of Life" can be found in all major religions of the world. It contains the patterns of creation as they emerged from the "Great Void". Everything is made from the Creator's thought.
After the creation of the Seed of Life the same vortex's motion was continued, creating the next structure known as the Egg of Life.
This structure forms the basis for music, as the distances between the spheres is identical to the distances between the tones and the half tones in music. It is also identical to the cellular structure of the third embryonic division (The first cell divides into two cells, then to four cells then to eight). Thus this same structure as it is further developed, creates the human body and all of the energy systems including the ones used to create the Merkaba. If we continue creating more and more spheres we will end up with the structure called the Flower of Life.

The flower of life holds a secret symbol created by drawing 13 circles out of the Flower of Life.
By doing this, one can discover the most important and sacred pattern in the universe. This is the source of all that exists; it's called the Fruit of Life. It contains 13 informational systems. Each one explains another aspect of reality. Thus these systems are able to give us access to everything ranging from the human body to the galaxies. In the first system, for example, it's possible to create any molecular structure and any living cellular structure that exists in the universe. In short every living creature.
The most common form of the "Flower of Life" is hexagonal pattern (where the center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter), made up of 19 complete circles and 36 partial circular arcs, enclosed by a large circle.
The "Seed of Life" is formed from seven circles being placed with sixfold symmetry, forming a pattern of circles and lenses, which acts as a basic component of the Flower of Life's design.

The Temple of Osiris at Abydos, Egypt contains the oldest to date example. it is carved in granite and may possibly represent the Eye of Ra a symbol of the authority of the pharaoh.

I believe the complete ancient flower of life is an inter-dimensional tool, a portal, a stargate, a window into what some call the inter space plains. The original flower of life (found on several pillars within "the Osireion" at abydos in Egypt) is incomplete, because it is only the first layer of three (pic1+2).

The complete flower has the other two layers added, making it three dimensional (pic3). If you relax (sit three feet away from the screen) and let the flower slowly draw your eyes out of focus, the flower will open. Try and not focus on any one point, blankly stare, take the flower in as a whole. You may get a headache and itchy eyes, this will quickly disappear. We do not see with our eyes, we see through our eyes. Let your mind focus, don't fight it.

What appears is a reptilian entity. This creature is very frightening and fierce looking, but i can assure you it can do you no harm. I know this sounds mad, but it is true and very real. After you get used to interacting with the reptilian, you can move on to the next entity. To interact with the second being you must rotate the flower by 30degrees and repeat the steps.

The second being is the Chinese dragon ( the fu dog). This creature is even more frightening than the first, so be prepared. Again, this creature cannot harm you in anyway. Somehow these entities are in suspended animation. They are real but they do not and cannot move. I know within freemasonry, they call the first entity "the khaibit man". You need to have been initiated into the 10th degree to be aware of the khaibit man. As part of the initiation into the 10th degree, the khaibit man is conjured up in front of you.
I am not a freemason, but my father has been a freemason for over 40 years.
He has been through the 10th degree. When I made this discovery and drew the complete flower, I was living in Edinburgh. I phoned my father who was living at home in Kirkwall on the Orkney isles. When I told my father what I had seen,
he could not believe what I was saying. He told me that the only way I could know what I was telling him was if I had been through the 10th degree.
Obviously I'm not a mason and hadn't been through the 10th, so from that day on my father has told me everything he knows about freemasonry. He also told me that his granny (my great granny Fox) told him when he was 16 years old, that someday one of his children would discover something that would affect the whole world.
He is now convinced that the complete flower is this discovery.
You may know that the complete flower contains the kabbalah`s tree of life, the fruit, the egg and the seed of life (pic. 4 & 5).

The complete flower also contains the three dimensional metatron cube (pic6), which holds all the Platonic solids (pic7).

I found this symbol on a knights templar tombstone (pic. 9), found within the St Magnus cathedral in Kirkwall, Orkney (pic. 8).

I believe this symbol is a representation of the egg of life (pic.10),which is the second rotation of the first layer of the complete flower of life (pic. 11).

I was born and bred and now live back in Kirkwall. At no time did I ever get taught at school, that there was any knights templars who came from or to Orkney. For whatever reason, the computer generated flower (pic. 13) does not work for the contemplation. It does contain all Freemasonry's sacred symbols.

The World Grid: The invisible made visible...
A portion of the world grid, which invisibly encircles the planet. The grid is based on 'the complete flower of life' and the hexagon/hexagram. The diameter of the first circle was calculated by drawing a line from Orkney to Stonehenge (coincidently the line happens to pass through Rosslyn chapel which is exactly in the middle, this could be the real 'rose line'). All of Europe's ancient sites (stone circles symbolizing the flower) can be found lying on one of these lines. The grid also links all of these ancient sites together. Many of the oldest sacred sites lie at the centre of six points.

Dance of the Planets
Orbits of Venus and the Earth are yet another example of sacred geometry.
This image shows the proportions of the orbit of the Earth and Venus (if the diameter the Earth's orbit is equal to diagonal of a square, the orbit of Venus would fit inside such square as shown on the drawing.
The image below has been made by hand with help of computer software for drafting. First, let's draw a square and two circles so one fits inside a square and the other outside the square. Strangely this represents accurately proportions of the orbits of Venus and Earth.
Second, let's draw equally spaced points on each circle representing number of days per orbit (365 points for the orbit of the Earth and 225 points for the orbit of Venus). Next, let's connected lines between orbital positions of each planet for each day - picking for the starting point a day when both planets are closest to each other. After repeating this process for 8 orbits of the Earth the lines form this amazing image:

The Tree of Life is one of the most familiar of the Sacred Geometry Symbols. The structure of the Tree of Life is connected to the sacred teachings of the Jewish Kabbalah but can be seen in other traditions such as the ancient Egyptian.
The Tree of Life is explained in Sefer Yetzira ("Book of Creation"). The book explained the creation as a process involving the 10 divine numbers (sefirot) of God the Creator and the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The 10 sefirot together with the 22 letters constitute the "32 paths of secret wisdom".
The Tree of Life is used as a sign of unity and love.

Sacred Geometry

Sacred geometry involves sacred universal patterns used in the design of everything in our reality, most often seen in sacred architecture and sacred art. The basic belief is that geometry and mathematical ratios, harmonics and proportion are also found in music, light, cosmology. This value system is seen as widespread even in prehistory, a cultural universal of the human condition.
It is considered foundational to building sacred structures such as temples, mosques, megaliths, monuments and churches; sacred spaces such as altars, temenoi and tabernacles; meeting places such as sacred groves, village greens and holy wells and the creation of religious art, iconography and using "divine" proportions. Alternatively, sacred geometry based arts may be ephemeral, such as visualization, sand painting and medicine wheels.
Sacred geometry may be understood as a worldview of pattern recognition, a complex system of religious symbols and structures involving space, time and form. According to this view the basic patterns of existence are perceived as sacred. By connecting with these, a believer contemplates the Great Mysteries, and the Great Design. By studying the nature of these patterns, forms and relationships and their connections, insight may be gained into the mysteries - the laws and lore of the Universe.
Music
The discovery of the relationship of geometry and mathematics to music within the Classical Period is attributed to Pythagoras, who found that a string stopped halfway along its length produced an octave, while a ratio of 3/2 produced a fifth interval and 4/3 produced a fourth. Pythagoreans believed that this gave music powers of healing, as it could "harmonize" the out-of-balance body, and this belief has been revived in modern times. Hans Jenny, a physician who pioneered the study of geometric figures formed by wave interactions and named that study cymatics, is often cited in this context. However, Dr. Jenny did not make healing claims for his work.
Even though Hans Jenny did pioneer cymatics in modern times, the study of geometric relationships to wave interaction (sound) obviously has much older roots (Pythagoras). A work that shows ancient peoples understanding of sacred geometry can be found in Scotland. In the Rosslyn Chapel, Thomas J. Mitchell, and his son, my friend Stuart Mitchell, have has found what he calls "frozen music". Apparently, there are 213 cubes with different symbols that are believed to have musical significance. After 27 years of study and research, Mitchell has found the correct pitches and tonality that matches each symbol on each cube, revealing harmonic and melodic progressions. He has fully discovered the "frozen music", which he has named the Rosslyn Motet, and is set to have it performed in the chapel on May 18, 2007, and June 1, 2007.
Cosmology
At least as late as Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), a belief in the geometric underpinnings of the cosmos persisted among scientists. Kepler explored the ratios of the planetary orbits, at first in two dimensions (having spotted that the ratio of the orbits of Jupiter and Saturn approximate to the in-circle and out-circle of an equilateral triangle). When this did not give him a neat enough outcome, he tried using the Platonic solids. In fact, planetary orbits can be related using two-dimensional geometric figures, but the figures do not occur in a particularly neat order. Even in his own lifetime (with less accurate data than we now possess) Kepler could see that the fit of the Platonic solids was imperfect. However, other geometric configurations are possible.
Natural Forms
Many forms observed in nature can be related to geometry (for sound reasons of resource optimization). For example, the chambered nautilus grows at a constant rate and so its shell forms a logarithmic spiral to accommodate that growth without changing shape. Also, honeybees construct hexagonal cells to hold their honey. These and other correspondences are seen by believers in sacred geometry to be further proof of the cosmic significance of geometric forms. But some scientists see such phenomena as the logical outcome of natural principles.
Art and Architecture
The golden ratio, geometric ratios, and geometric figures were often employed in the design of Egyptian, ancient Indian, Greek and Roman architecture. Medieval European cathedrals also incorporated symbolic geometry. Indian and Himalayan spiritual communities often constructed temples and fortifications on design plans of mandala and yantra. Contemporary Usage
A contemporary usage of the term sacred geometry describes New Age and occult assertions of a mathematical order to the intrinsic nature of the universe. Scientists see the same geometric and mathematical patterns as arising directly from natural principles. Some of the most prevalent traditional geometric forms ascribed to sacred geometry include the sine wave, the sphere, the vesica pisces, the 5 platonic solids, the torus (donut), the tesseract (4-dimensional cube), and the merkaba (2 oppositely oriented and interpenetrating tetrahedrons), and the golden spiral/ratio. Some believers of sacred geometry also see patterns in crop circles and in ancient architecture.

The golden ratio, also known as the god ratio, golden proportion, golden mean, golden section, golden number, divine proportion or sectio divina, is an irrational number, approximately 1.618 033 988 749 894 848, that possesses many interesting properties. Shapes proportioned according to the golden ratio have long been considered aesthetically pleasing in Western cultures, and the golden ratio is still used frequently in art and design, suggesting a natural balance between symmetry and asymmetry. The ancient Pythagoreans, who defined numbers as expressions of ratios (and not as units as is common today), believed that reality is numerical and that the golden ratio expressed an underlying truth about existence.
