La Secreta Historia de la Nueva Atlántida
Se cuentan historias de cuando en cuando en las Logias masónicas de unas extrañas pero verídicas historias sobre la Isla de la Nueva Atlántida, y una de estas Historias es sobre un masón español llamado Antonio Alcalá Galiano, que tras pertenecer a la masonería por años, un día por casualidad en un mercado de su ciudad, se topó en un inusual puesto de libros viejos, así como un imán que lo atrajese se topa con un extraño y antiquísimo libro el cual en su portada estaba el símbolo de la escuadra y el compás, símbolo que le atrajo , ojeando el libro se dio cuenta que estaba escrito en castellano antiguo pero legible, pero lo que más le sorprendió fue que estaba datado con la fecha de 592,, y en la primera pagina podía alcanzarse a leer puño y letra “A ti mi amigo Sir Francis Bacon” y el título del libro era “Viaje de Don Abraham Ortelius a la Isla de la Nueva Atlántida” inmediatamente lo compró a un muy alto precio; y se dijo para si esto vale la pena. Leyéndolo, se dio cuenta de que por ningún lado aparecía la palabra masonería, pero sí que daba cuenta de una Sociedad Secreta poseedora de altos conocimientos ahora olvidados, lo que más le impresionó era que el libro contenía mapas o cartografías muy detalladas. Pero, el Q:.H:. Alcalá entre mas leía mas paralelismo encontraba entre la Masonería y esa antiquísima sociedad secreta descrita en el Libro, así que un día reunió recursos y decidió ir en busca de la Mítica Isla de la Nueva Atlántida, que justo estaría frente a las costas del Perú. El joven Alcalá de hecho nunca había sentido mucha estima por la aventura, pero siguió una corazonada, así fue que se embarcó en busca de esa sociedad secreta tan parecida a la masonería. Tomando el mapa se fue en busca de la Isla y llegando por fin a ella, dio órdenes que simplemente lo llevasen ahí con sus expedicioncitas, siendo diez compañeros, los dejaron en lugar indicado en la playa, un lugar marcado por un alto monolito, tal cual lo marcaba el Mapa, así sus jóvenes auxiliares le acompañaron, ya desembarcados y penetrando todos en un camino adoquinado que penetraba en una jungla más y más profundamente, aguardando temerosos a lo que sus destinos deparara. Tras una hora y media, el Hermano masón Alcalá se encontró en una ciudad en medio de esa isla del Pacifico llana de hermosas casas y abundantes árboles frutales, sembradíos de maíz y papa. Antes pudiesen descubrir algo más, fueron capturados por una banda de monos y llevados a un gran palacio fortificado con barrotes de madera, donde fueron divididos y encerrados en unas sucias mazmorras entre cerdos pestilentes. Pasaron unas horas, cuando les traían alimentos y los sacaban a la luz del día, a través de los barrotes de madera se dio cuenta que aquel reino estaba completamente poblado y gobernado por simios parecidos a los que los habían capturado. Los simios altos, fuertes y erguidos, caminaban de forma elegantes y se comunicaban entre sí con sonidos guturales y señas, de cuando en cuando veía pasar volando lo que para el eran barcos voladores, lo cual le impresiono mucho. Comerciaban los simios, labraban parcelas, conversaban mucho, incluso leían. Sin embargo para un español de la aristocracia como lo era Nuestro Hermano Alcalá, le parecía que ciertos hábitos le resultaran espantosos pues algunos simios no llevaban ropas y paseaban así a la vista de todos, y no tenían una forma propiamente elegante para comer. Alcalá era incapaz de comunicarse con ellos, a más de unas cuantas señas, para él sus voces eran solo gruñidos, carcajadas y raros gemidos. Pronto descubrió que entre los simios había otros seres humanos algunos libres y otros cautivos como ellos, pero los libres parecían esclavizados por los simios. Intentó comunicarse con los esclavos humanos para que le ayudarán pero no le hicieron el menor caso, pensó claro, estos desdichados deben haber llegado a esta isla por alguna razón y fueron capturados. Pasaron así 0 largos días y de pronto fue entrevistado por un Simio que sabía hablar perfecto español, iba acompañado de otros simios aparentemente subalternos; y le dijo: Señor Antonio Alcalá, Mi nombre es Semiramis Orión y soy ministro de defensa de esta parte del imperio y usted está detenido por habernos invadido junto con sus compañeros, ya hemos confiscado su embarcación y capturado a su tripulación. Tiene usted que decirnos algo Señor Antonio Alcalá, dijo sí, mire Su Excelencia Don Semiramis Orión y le contó toda la historia, Orión estaba sorprendido de la historia y sobre todo del Libro descrito, llegaron al punto donde describe a la Sociedad Secreta diciéndole como se parecía a sociedad secreta masónica, vaya se de la Masonería y de sus afinidades con nuestra Sociedad Secreta de la Bruma, pero, es usted masón señor Antonio Alcalá, y respondió que sí, ¿sólo usted o también sus compañeros de viaje? Solamente yo Su Excelencia, haciendo gestos a sus compañeros el Simio Orión dio órdenes de liberar de la Mazmorra a Antonio Alcalá, y le dijo: usted sigue detenido pero por ser masón, lo llevaremos a un lugar infinitamente más cómodo, así hasta que se aclaren las cosas, y mis compañeros de viaje preguntó Antonio Alcalá, ah por ellos no se preocupe mañana serán trasladados a otra isla del Imperio, donde serán reeducados y dejaran de ser incivilizados. Así el Hermano Masón Antonio Alcalá fue alojado en una casa muy acogedora pero no se le permitía salir pues había guardias custodiándolo, al día siguiente, escucho una clara voz femenina tras la puerta de alado, y le dijo: Mi nombre es Odinaly que quiere decir Luz del Día me han contado de ti Antonio Alcalá, y me interesa saber de usted, pero Alcalá pensó para sí que esa era la voz de una espía que pretendía interrogarlo, y así día tras día durante un mes hubo una calurosa y afectiva conversación, la voz femenina era dulce y melodiosa, y Antonio Alcalá comenzó a sentir amor por ella, pero pensaba y si es una mujer simio, pero se decía bueno no importa, su compañía es dulce y confortante. La voz así tenía una forma fraternal, cariñosa, pero extraña y compulsiva belleza, y, sin haber visto a la propietaria de esa voz; su mente se confundía, y le daba pena preguntarle si era humana o simia. Antonio Alcalá sabía ella podía verlo, y un día , le dijo la joven mujer, soy una princesa de este Reino, soy joven y soltera, y me gustaría casarme contigo - Antonio Alcalá desesperado de su situación y temiendo morir si no aceptaba, sin pensarlo más, y reparando en su libertad y profundo amor por ella accedió. – Si, por supuesto que me casaré contigo amada Luz del Día. Al día siguiente una comitiva de fuertes simios sacaron al hermano Antonio Alcalá de su cautiverio, lo vistieron de gala, lo perfumaron y lo pusieron bonito. Allí observó a una mujer completamente cubierta por un velo color turquesa, sentada en los profundos cojines negros de terciopelo, rodeada de simios, humanos y algo que le causo escalofríos fue ver a gentes reptiloides humanos si, pero con rasgos propios de un reptil y ellos parecían ser quienes daban las ordenes a todos, digamos una casta superior a los demás. En esto se presenta Orión el cual saluda a Antonio Alcalá afectuosamente, y le dice: - Francmasón Antonio Alcalá, gracias a ti el Imperio de la Nueva Atlántida, ha decidido hacer nuestro Imperio invisible a los ojos de Ustedes los Humanos, cada día sabemos vendrán más humanos y no todos son buenos, ya no habrá más contacto directo entre ustedes y nosotros, claro de cuando en cuando nos verán y los veremos pero, automáticamente se activaran mecanismos psíquicos y no pasará de eso, de un encuentro casual. Antonio Alcalá, mi español hermano te noto nervioso, la verdad eres afortunado te casaras con la Princesa Odinaly (Luz del Día), su padre es el Ser más poderoso del Mundo, ya lo creo dijo Antonio Alcalá seguro su Padre es Lucifer, Orión comenzó a reír dándole palmadas a Alcalá, y seguro seré luego de la boda y de la cúpula la cena de la Princesa, No eso no, mi hermano Antonio Alcalá, antes que tu han venido otros como Sir Francis Bacon, luego de un tiempo, regresaron a su país natal y cambiaron el rostro de tu civilización. Antonio Alcalá el hermano Masón olvidando todo dio un paso hacia ella y la abrazó y la beso, la paciencia de todos estos días de reflexión me han provocado un cambio radical- se dijo a sí mismo. Pensando esto firmó el acta de matrimonio y la beso y todos aplaudían. Así finaliza la primera parte de esta historia extraordinaria, la cual claro tiene otros episodios, los cuales serán revelados algún día.

One pillar is on Africa and the other on Europe across the straight of Gibraltar. Here the pillars are on the foreword to Sir Francis Bacon’s Novum Organum (1620). Francis Bacon is said to be the grandfather of Freemasonry.

Boaz and Jachin are B and J below. Note the hypostyle capitals from the Temple of Karnac in Egypt. The pomegranates (which Hades tricked Persephone into eating) are arranged in the Tree of Life pattern. The high priestess is the third column. What 11 is Ultimately About
My personal opinion about what 11 is all about is integrating our bicameral minds into a state of balanced consciousness. Schooling emphasizes the left brain at the expense of the right. Advancement in society is almost entirely a left brained affair. The feminine right side of our consciousness is being systematically suppressed.
Psychic health comes when both hemispheres of the brain are more evenly matched. Artists shouldn’t be starving and psychopaths shouldn’t be running the world. Extremes flourish because of the imbalance in human consciousness that desperately needs to be healed.

The Future: Hermitage Plaza in Paris
Hermitage Plaza is a project of two towers to be built on the newly named Place Napoleon Bonaparte (who was responsible for amazing secret architecture, see my Paris episodes) commencing construction this year. The tallest of the two towers will be one meter shorter than the Eiffel Tower at 323 m, making this project the tallest in the European Union when it will be completed in 2016. The twin Hermitage Plaza towers will eventually eclipse the Shard (which is currently under construction in London) as the tallest building in the EU.

The name “Hermitage Plaza” reminds me of The Hermit tarot card. The Hermit is of course another light bringer.
Hermitage Plaza was designed by Foster + Partners and revealed by Sir Norman Foster himself on 3/11/09, exactly two years before the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
Here is some intriguing Atonist copy from the official site:
“The crystalline forms attract the sun beams, animating the buildings throughout the day with changing patterns of light…coming alive at every opportunity and creating an atmosphere worthy of THE CITY OF LIGHT. [capitalization sic]”
One tower is slightly taller than the other, just like at the former World Trade Center in Manhattan. The tallest of the two will have 93 floors which is a very interesting number…
Thelema
The number 93 is of great significance in Thelema, a religious philosophy founded by English author and occultist Aleister Crowley with the writing of The Book of the Law. The word thelema equates to 93 using Greek isopsephy, which is like gematria in Hebrew.

This custom derives from Aleister Crowley’s guideline that Thelemites should greet each other with the Law of Thelema by saying “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.” Since saying the entire Law can be cumbersome, using 93 has become a kind of shorthand.
Aleister Crowley wrote this on the matter:
I am often asked why I begin my letters this way. No matter whether I am writing to my lady or to my butcher, always I begin with these eleven words. Why, how else should I begin? Kabbalistic Tree of Life
There are 10 sephiroth in the Tree of Life from the Jewish Kabbalah plus a hidden one called Da’at (or Daath) that unites all 11.
Humans who become self-giving like the Light become able to see it, and for them the benefits of Daat’s Light seem “revealed”. However, humans who remain selfish cannot see it, and for them its benefits seem “hidden”.

Apollo 11 was the first mission that supposedly reached the moon.
Executive Order 11110
In his book Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy, Jim Mars argues that what got JFK killed was signing of Executive Order 11110 which was an attempt to wrest control of the monetary policy of the US away from the Federal Reserve Bank.
Executive Order 11110 was signed on 4 June 63 and JFK was assassinated on 22 Nov 63.
JFK was killed 11+11 days into the 11th month of 1963.
Triangle / Pyramid Numbers

There are 121 (11×11) documented bronze medallions in a line across Paris marking the Paris prime meridian which was used in France for 200 years before Greenwich UK became the world’s prime meridian. The metric system was defined using the Paris prime meridian. Arago was a French astronomer.
Football / Soccer
Football or soccer as it is known in the United States has amazing numerical symbolism. 11 players on one team compete against 11 players on the other team. The ball is the spherical marriage of hexagon and pentagon having 32 panels. The world’s most popular sport therefore appears to be a Masonic invention.

This mysterious movie from 2003 encodes repeating ones in occult symbols. Here are the protagonist John Person’s bowling shoes. He stayed in motel room 111. The movie builds to a rendezvous with a UFO. Personally I think the movie sucks except for the cleverly encoded symbolism. Here is an image from the end of the movie:

In ten-pin bowling, there are only 10 frames. Grace says there is one more chance making an eleventh frame, and John Person proceeds to bowl one last time. The bowling ball rolls down the alley and then it cuts to a bowling ball rolling across the desert. Very intriguing. By the way ten pin bowling has the pins arranged in the Pythagorean tetractys, the most sacred diagram in the Pythagoreans secret worship of number. Many sports encode secrets in plain sight. I’ll cover Masonic Baseball in a future post.

Statue of Liberty
The height of the Statue of Liberty is 111′-1″ from bottom of foot to top of head. The 7 rays on the crown and the 11 points of the base star echo the proportions of the Great Pyramid’s 7:11 height to base proportion. The superb book Talisman by Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval convincingly shows this goddess is actually the Egyptian Isis.

The Great Pyramid
According to Richard Heath’s metrology in Sacred Number (well worth reading by the way) the Great Pyramid (GP) measures 480 English feet to the top of the “unfinished pyramid” which happens to be precisely 1/11th of a mile.
The pyramidion measured 1-1/11 feet in height. Herodotus tells us it was made of electrum and brilliantly reflected light (electrum is an alloy of gold and silver). The valuable pyramidion is long gone of course.
Earth Measure
One degree of longitude measures 111,111 meters at the equator. The mean degree of latitude is 111,111m.
The Solar Cycle
The amount of solar radiation received on Earth rises and falls in an 11 year cycle. This is called the solar cycle.
Magic Square of the Sun
In the traditional magic square of the Sun every row, column and diagonal adds up to 111.
Templars
The nine founding templars first banded together in 1111 AD.

Chartres Labyrinth and Ptolemaic Cosmology
Both have 11 concentric rings.
Important Addresses
1111 California Street is Masonic Center at the top of Nob Hill in San Francisco, directly across from Grace Cathedral which features a replica of the Chartres labyrinth depicted above.
There is a frieze on the building exterior representing a gigantic tug of war between good and evil forces where they are pulling on the Sun. The interior strangely contains gravel and soil from each of the 58 counties in California, suggesting some kind of sympathetic magic at work.
111 Cannon Street is the address of the London Stone at the base of the street pyramid in the City of London. This is the stone the Romans laid as the omphalos stone, the point from which all distances were measured in Britainnia.
The London Stone is recognized as the symbolic authority and heart of the City of London. It was the place where deals were forged and oaths were sworn. It was also the point from which official proclamations were made.
1111 Constitution Avenue NW in Washington DC is the headquarters of the Internal Revenue Service.

Remembrance Day
The major hostilities of World War I were formally ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the armistice. As a result Remembrance Day is observed on 11/11 at 11 AM in commonwealth countries.
The Shrine of Remembrance was built in Melbourne Australia in 1934 to help people remember Remembrance Day. One third of the population of the time came out on opening day. The building features an Egyptian style truncated pyramid on top.
The core of the building houses the Stone of Remembrance. This is a marble stone sunk below the pavement, so that visitors must bow their heads to read the inscription on it:
GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN
The Stone is aligned with an aperture in the roof so that a ray of sunlight falls on the word LOVE on the Stone of Remembrance at exactly at 11 AM on the 11th day of the 11th month. The beam of light hitting the word LOVE is an appropriate touch for anyone who loves the light.
Cenotaphs
Cenotaph means empty tomb. A cenotaph marks the remains of a person or group of people whose remains remain elsewhere. This cenotaph in London says “The Glorious Dead” to honor those soldiers who died in WWI. Red wreaths or red poppies are left at these geomantic markers representing the blood split in war. Very morbid to glorify death and blood when you think about it. How about celebrating these young men’s lives rather than their spilled blood? Here is the cenotaph in London but they are all over the world in commonwealth countries.

London Alignment
Here’s an intriguing alignment I discovered in London. A straight line connects the Victoria memorial in front of Buckingham Palace with the aforementioned Remembrance Day cenotaph, goes through the highly symbolic 444′ high, 32 car London Eye and continues to The Shard whose address is 32 London Bridge. 32 is of course an important Masonic number in the Scottish rite.
111,000 Square Meters
The Shard at 32 London Bridge will be the tallest building in the EU for a few years before it is eclipsed by Hermitage Plaza in Paris. Architect Renzo Piano’s structure is currently under construction and has 72 habitable floors comprising a floor area of 111,000 m2

In the Kabbalah the number 72 is called the Shemhamphorasch referring to the number of names of God.
The IM Pei (of Louvre Pyramid fame) designed Fountain Place and the SOM designed Trammel Crow Center (with pyramid on roof) both on Ross Avenue (rose or rosicrucian symbol) in Dallas Texas have exactly the same symbolic floor area of 111,000 m2

The Bank of America logo encodes both 11:11 and 33. Two pairs of red elevens encodes 11:11.

Filadelfia[3] (en inglés: Philadelphia, también apodada coloquialmente Philly) es la mayor ciudad de la mancomunidad de Pensilvania, situada al noreste de los Estados Unidos, entre Nueva York y Washington D. C.. Es la quinta ciudad del país por población y la número 51 del mundo. El condado de Filadelfia, del que es sede, posee 1 526 006 habitantes en su comuna (Philadelphia City) y 5 950 000 en su área metropolitana.
Es un gran centro histórico, cultural y artístico en los Estados Unidos, y de la misma forma un importante puerto industrial sobre el río Delaware, que se extiende hasta el océano Atlántico. Fundada en 1682, fue durante el siglo XVIII la ciudad más poblada de las Trece colonias y la tercera ciudad más poblada del Imperio británico (tras Londres y Dublín), antes de convertirse provisionalmente en la ciudad capital de los Estados Unidos. Fue velozmente superada por Nueva York y le cedió su estatus de capital a la flamante ciudad de Washington D.C. Hoy, Filadelfia es la principal metrópolis y también la sede del gobierno de Pensilvania, cuya capital es Harrisburg.
El nombre de la ciudad, elegido por William Penn, significa "la ciudad del amor fraternal" (compuesta de philos (φίλος) "amor", y adelphos (ἀδελφός) "hermano"), pues se deseaba que fuese un refugio de tolerancia religiosa.
Establecida en 1682, es una de las ciudades más antiguas del país, y, como capital original y ciudad más grande de la época colonial, gozaba de una importancia política y social mayor que Boston o Nueva York. En 1776, el Congreso Continental de las 13 colonias se reunió en Filadelfia y en el 4 de julio de ese año, declaró la independencia de Gran Bretaña. Quizás el ciudadano más famoso de Filadelfia fue Benjamin Franklin, escritor, científico y político.
Filadelfia es fundamental para la historia afroamericana, su gran población negra es anterior a la Gran Migración. Es la ciudad natal del jugador estrella de baloncesto de Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant
Los comienzos de Filadelfia[editar]

Filadelfia fue diseñada según un plano en damero, el más antiguo de los Estados Unidos, con calles anchas y cinco parques. Willliam Penn deseaba, sobretodo, hacer de esta ciudad una ciudad de Dios, garantizando la libertad de culto. El nombre de la ciudad, en griego Φιλαδέλφια (« amor fraternal »), reflejaba esta ambición. Cuando William Penn regresó de Inglaterra en 1699, tras una ausencia de quince años, se encontró con una ciudad mucho más grande que se encontraba justo detrás de Boston en términos de población. Numerosos inmigrantes europeos, ingleses, neerlandeses, franceses protestantes, habían en efecto llegado, atraídos por la prosperidad de la ciudad y su tolerancia religiosa. Un primer grupo de alemanes se instaló en 1683 en el barrio actual de Germantown. Willliam Penn le otorgó una carta a la ciudad el 25 de octubre de 1701 a fin de crear instituciones municipales: un ayuntamiento, consejos y una asamblea.

La revolución estadounidense[editar]
En el Carpenters' Hall se efectuó el Primer Congreso Continental en 1774.
En los años 1770, Filadelfia se convirtió en unos de los principales centros de la Revolución estadounidense. Los Hijos de la Libertad, una organización de patriotas americanos, eran muy activos en la ciudad: resistían a las medidas fiscales impuestas por la urbe e incitaban a los colonos a boicotear las mercaderías inglesas.
Filadelfia fue la elegida, a causa de su posición central en el seno de las Trece Colonias, para acoger el Primer Congreso continental que se reunió del 5 de septiembre al 26 de octubre de 1774 en el Carpenters' Hall. El Segundo Congreso continental se extendió entre 1775 y 1781, fecha de la Declaración de Independencia y de la ratificación de los Artículos de la Confederación. Durante la guerra de independencia, esta asamblea organizó el ejército continental, emitió papel moneda y se ocupó de las relaciones internacionales del país. Los delegados firmaron la Declaración de Independencia el 4 de julio de 1776 en esta ciudad. Sin embargo, en respuesta a la derrota estadounidense de Brandywine en 1777, el Congreso tuvo que dejar la ciudad, así como 2/3 de la población. Los habitantes debieron esconder la Campana de la Libertad.
Muchas batallas entre las fuerzas estadounidenses comandadas por George Washington y los casacas rojas. Después de haber conquistado la ciudad en septiembre de 1777, los británicos concentraron 9.000 soldados en el barrio alemán, Germantown. En junio de 1778, los británicos abandonaron Filadelfia para proteger Nueva York, expuesta a las naves francesas. En julio, el Congreso volvió a Filadelfia. Una convención constitucional se reunió en la ciudad en 1781 para redactar una constitución. Este texto, organizador de las instituciones del nuevo país, fue firmado en el Independence Hall en septiembre de 1787. Fue en el Congress Hall que fue elaborada la Declaración de los Derechos en 1790, los diez primeros apartados de la constitución estadounidense. El Congreso continental se instaló en la ciudad de Nueva York en 1785, pero, bajo la presión de Thomas Jefferson, volvió a Filadelfia en 1790, que fue investida capital provisoria de los Estados Unidos, mientras Washington D. C. era construida. Filadelfia dejó de ser la capital de las colonias en 1799.
El siglo XX[editar]
Miles de inmigrantes llegados de Alemania, de Italia, de Irlanda, de Europa del Este y de Egipto arribaron al puerto de Filadelfia para trabajar en las industrias de la ciudad en torno al siglo XX y se reagruparon en sus distintivos barrios. Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, la llegada de afro americanos huyendo de la discriminación del sur modificó la estructura de la población. Con el desarrollo del transporte ferroviario y más adelante del metro en 1907, y del automóvil, las clases medias comenzaron a irse del centro de la ciudad para habitar en los suburbios. Los primeros rascacielos fueron construidos y el Puente Benjamin Franklin fue construido. Después de la Gran Depresión, Filadelfia fue conocida por el vigor de sus gremios y por sus múltiples huelgas. El paro aumentó fuertemente y se mantuvo a un alto nivel en los años 1930, a pesar de los empleos creados por Works Progress Administration. Hubo que esperar a la Segunda Guerra Mundial para que la ciudad superara la crisis, gracias a las industrias de armamento.

Stargate (película)
Stargate, literalmente, en inglés, «La puerta de las estrellas», es una película franco-estadounidense, escrita por Dean Devlin y Roland Emmerich, dirigida por este último y estrenada por primera vez en 1994. Está protagonizada por Kurt Russell y James Spader.
Sinopsis
En la película la acción comienza en el año 8.000 a. C., en una pequeña aldea situada en el desierto norteafricano. Es de noche y los habitantes de la aldea duermen... hasta que les despierta un ruido atronador causado por una nave alienígena que aterriza a pocos cientos de metros, emitiendo una luz cegadora. Todos huyen, a excepción de un joven que, para saciar su curiosidad, se acerca a la luz (al no saber lo que es) y, un destello cegador desciende sobre él...
En 1928 el equipo de arqueólogos del profesor Langford descubre en Guiza (Egipto) un extraño artefacto metálico con forma de anillo, cubierto por unas losas de protección con unas escritura. Mientras el profesor analiza las losas, su hija (Catherine) curiosea entre otros objetos descubiertos, y coge un colgante dorado que le llama la atención. Años más tarde, en 1994, el Dr. Jackson (James Spader), lingüista que daba una conferencia sobre la escritura egipcia, recibe la visita de Dra. Langford, que le propone una traducción de unas tablillas del Antiguo Egipto.
El Dr. Jackson se tiene que trasladar hasta unas instalaciones militares en la Montaña Creek, Colorado, donde le muestran unas enormes losas de protección. En una pizarra contigua existía una traducción de parte de los símbolos, que no duda en corregir. La traducción de los otros símbolos le lleva dos semanas, hasta que se da cuenta que no son símbolos sino constelaciones que señalan un punto en el Universo.
Cuando explica sus descubrimientos al General West y el resto de los militares, deciden enseñarle qué se encontraba debajo de las losas de protección. Gracias al Dr. Jackson, consiguen activar el Stargate y establecer un agujero de gusano con la otra punta del universo conocido.
Un grupo de militares encabezado por el Coronel O'Neil (Kurt Russell) y al que acompaña el Dr. Jackson, cruzan la puerta para explorar lo que se encuentren al otro lado.
Al cruzar la puerta, llegan a un mundo aparentemente desértico. El Stargate de aquel lado está dentro de un templo junto a una gran pirámide. Los militares acampan y el Dr. Jackson sale a explorar, encontrando por casualidad a una civilización de humanos prehistóricos que trabajan una mina. Algunos de los hombres de la expedición van a Nagada, la aldea de esta gente, y entablan amistad con ellos. Al Dr.Jackson le es ofrecida Sha'uri, la hija del jefe como esposa, quien le conduce a una gruta donde descubre la historia de ese mundo: hace miles de años, un alienígena moribundo llegó a la Tierra, tomó a un humano como anfitrión y utilizó su tecnología para autoproclamarse dios de aquellos primitivos humanos. Con el tiempo, hubo una revuelta en la Tierra, Ra huyó y el Stargate fue enterrado.
Mientras tanto, en el campamento base junto al Stargate, una nave con forma piramidal ha aterrizado, y los terrícolas han sido capturados por unos extraños seres con cabeza de animal. Cuando los demás regresan de la aldea y ven la nave, intentan averiguar que ocurre y son capturados también. O'Neil y Jackson son llevados ante quien parece estar al mando: el dios egipcio Ra.
O'Neil intenta matar a Ra y en la trifulca muere el Dr. Jackson, que será resucitado gracias a la tecnología alienígena. Para seguir vivo, Ra le insta a matar a sus compañeros capturados durante una ceremonia pública. Llegado el momento, entre el gentío que ha acudido, Jackson distingue a algunos de los jóvenes de Nagada, que portan armas de los soldados terrícolas. Comienza un tiroteo que aprovechan para escapar de allí y organizar un ataque contra el falso dios.
Ocultos como aldeanos en una caravana que lleva miernal como ofrenda a Ra, los soldados y algunos de los jóvenes, se dirigen hasta la nave palacio de Ra. En el camino, para no ser descubiertos, O'Neil mata a uno de los guardias de Ra. Al quitarle el casco con forma de animal, los aldeanos descubren que han sido esclavizados no por dioses sino por hombres como ellos, lo que les alienta a emprender la revuelta.
Una vez en la pirámide, los terrícolas empiezan a atacar a los guardias de Ra. Cuando se ven sitiados, aparecen todos los demás aldeanos armados con palos y piedras. Superando enormemente en número a los guardias, consiguen derrotarlos. Al ver esto, Ra activa la nave para huir. Antes de alejarse demasiado, consiguen teletransportar una bomba hasta la nave pirámide, que explota en el cielo para júbilo de todos los presentes.
Finalmente, todos los terrícolas que han sobrevivido regresan a la Tierra, salvo el Dr. Jackson, que prefiere quedarse con su ahora esposa Sha'uri.
Reparto
Continuación
Aunque Stargate marca el inicio de la saga Stargate, en realidad pretendía ser la primera de una trilogía de películas con un rumbo en la trama diferente al que seguiría la serie. Pero no se pudo llevar a cabo debido a otro proyecto que Devlin y Emmerich tenían entre manos otro proyecto (Independence Day).
Sin embargo, en 2006, el propio Devlin anuncia1 que le gustaría retomar el proyecto, y que los actores originales (Russell y Spader) se han mostrado interesados en el asunto.

Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Rome is the largest city in and the county seat of Floyd County, Georgia, United States. It is the principal city of the Rome, Georgia, Metropolitan Statistical Area, population 96,250 (2009), which encompasses all of Floyd County. At the 2010 census, the city alone had a total population of 36,303.[1] It is the largest city in Northwest Georgia and the 19th largest city in the state.
Rome was built at the confluence of the Etowah and the Oostanaula rivers, forming the Coosa River. It is on seven hills with the rivers running between them, a feature that inspired the early European-American settlers to name it for Rome, the capital of Italy. It developed as a market and trading city due to its advantageous location on the rivers, sending the cotton commodity crop downriver to the Gulf Coast.
It is the second largest city, after Gadsden, Alabama, near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, Birmingham and Chattanooga. It has developed as a regional center in such areas as medical care and education. In addition to its public school system, there are several private schools. Higher-level institutions include private Berry College and Shorter University, and the public Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Georgia Highlands College.
In the late 1920s a United States company built a rayon plant in a joint project with an Italian company. This project and the American city of Rome were honored by Italy in 1929, when its dictator Benito Mussolini sent a replica of the statue of Romulus and Remus nursing from a mother wolf, a symbol of the founding myth of the original Rome.

Rome is located at the confluence of the Etowah and the Oostanaula rivers, whose merging forms the Coosa River. This gave it access to the waterways, the major transportation routes of the era. Because of this water feature, Rome developed as a regional trade center, based originally on King Cotton. As cotton plantations were developed in the area, Rome was an increasingly important market town, shipping the commodity downriver to other markets.[3] It was designated as the county seat of Floyd County, Georgia.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 29.8 square miles (77 km2) of which 29.4 square miles (76 km2) is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2) is water. The total area is 1.54% water.
The seven hills that inspired the name of Rome are known as Blossom, Jackson, Lumpkin, Mount Aventine, Myrtle, Old Shorter, and Neely hills. (The latter is also known as Tower or Clock Tower Hill). Some of the hills have been partially graded since Rome was founded.

Native American era[edit]
People of the Mississippian culture are known to have inhabited the area from about 1000 CE. These people are believed to have died off from disease brought by exposure to the Spaniards in the late 16th century. The Cherokee migrated into the Southeast and established themselves in the early 17th century.
Specifics before the Spanish expeditions in the 16th century are largely unknown, but archeologists have found evidence of thousands of years of indigenous cultures along these rivers.

There is some debate over whether Hernando de Soto was the first Spanish conquistador to encounter Native Americans in the area now known as Rome, but it is usually agreed that he passed through the region with his expedition in 1540.[4] In 1560, Tristán de Luna sent a detachment of 140 soldiers and two Dominican friars north along de Soto's route. They established relations with the Coosa chiefdom as they recorded assisting the Coosa in a raid against the rebellious province of Napochín, in what is now known as Tennessee.[5] Exposed to new Eurasian infectious diseases, these mound builder peoples suffered high mortality rates, as they lacked immunity and within 20 years the community was abandoned. The Creek emerged in the area, one of the major Muscogee-speaking tribes.[6]
The Abihka tribe of Creek in the area of Rome later became part of the Upper Creek. They merged with other Creek tribes to become the Ulibahalis, who later migrated westward into Alabama in the general region of Gadsden.[7][8] By the mid-18th century, Iroquoian-speaking Cherokee had moved into the area and occupied it. They had moved down from areas of Tennessee, under pressure from settlement by European Americans migrating from eastern territories.
A Cherokee village named Chatuga was settled in this area during the late eighteenth century, in the period of the Chickamauga Wars during and after the American Revolutionary War. The Cherokee referred to this area as "Head of Coosa." Several Cherokee leaders settled here, developing plantations, including chiefs Major Ridge and John Ross.[9] In the 20th century, Ridge's home here was preserved as Chieftains House. It has been adapted by the state for use as the Chieftains Museum and is used to represent the history of the Cherokee in this area, especially Major Ridge.
In the 18th century, a high demand in Europe for American deer skins had led to a brisk trade between Indian hunters and white traders, and as a result, a few white traders and some settlers (primarily from the British Colonies of Georgia and Carolina) were accepted by the Head of Coosa Cherokee. These were later joined by missionaries, and then more settlers. After the American War of Independence, most new settlers came from the area of Georgia east of the Proclamation Line of 1763.

In 1793, in response to a Cherokee raid into Tennessee, John Sevier, the Governor of Tennessee, led a retaliatory raid against the Cherokee in the vicinity of Myrtle Hill, in what was known as the Battle of Hightower.
In 1802, the United States and Georgia executed the Compact of 1802, in which Georgia sold its claimed Western lands (a claim dating to the colonial era) to the United States. In return, the federal government agreed to ignore Cherokee land titles and remove all Cherokee from Georgia. The commitment to evict the Cherokee was not immediately enforced, and Chiefs John Ross and Major Ridge led efforts to stop their removal, including several Federal lawsuits.
