Poi Gabriel se n'è andato e s'è messo a scrivere cose per me opinabili; Hackett, Banks e Rutherford hanno fatto qualcosina ma poi sono scomparsi; Phil Collins, malgrado qualche pezzo che mi piace, s'è commercializzato come pochi. Già con 'Follow you, follow me', brano molto orecchiabile ma vera cazzatella a cura dei quattro, si vedeva che ormai l'importante era vendere. 'A trick of the tail', mah, carino...
E ti dirò: secondo me 'The lamb lies down on Broadway', l'ultimo album della formazione al completo, già mostrava evidenti segni di decadenza, di esaurimento della vena.
