Squaring the Circle - The Great Pyramid

The square represents the physical. The circle represents the spiritual. All sacred geometers have attempted the impossible: to square the circle (create a square who's perimeter is equal to the circumference of a circle.)
Here is the first of two valiant attempts:
This squaring of the circle works with a right triangle that represents the apothem (ZY) - (a line drawn from the base of the center of one of the sides to top of the pyramid), down to the center of the base (ZE), and out to the point where the apothem touches the Earth (EY).

Now let's look at this in 2D,
from directly above.
For the purpose of this exercise,
the side (AB) of the base equals 2.

This circle comes remarkably close to having the same circumference as the perimeter of the base (ABCD).

EY = .5, The apothem is phi/1.618. This makes the 51 degree + degree angle.

INICIACIÓN A LOS NÚMEROS DE LA ARQUITECTURA O DE COMO DARLE FORMA A UN EDIFICIO
Los números pueden estar explicados matemáticamente en la “red” pero el problema que plantea el conocimiento de la arquitectura es: ¿cómo se le da forma con esos números a un edificio?. En arquitectura los números operan a partir de los polígonos estrellados formando concatenaciones, tal y como a continuación vamos a describir.
NÚMERO DE ORO - PENTÁGONO
El número de oro viene dado por la solución a la ecuación de segundo grado
x + x² = 1 x = 1+√5 /2 = 1,618033989
Propiedades 1/ 1,618 = 0,618 1,618... x 1,618... = 2,618...
Dado una circunferencia de radio 1 el lado del decágono inscrito en él es 0,618...
Dado un pentágono de lado 1, las diagonales de ese pentágono = 1,618...
La técnica con la que opera la arquitectura es la de las concatenaciones.
Una de ellas, la más usual, es la que presentamos en el dibujo. Si la circunferencia en color azul tiene R=1 el radio de la roja es R= 2,618, correspondiente a la que presentamos en “El vitruvio” de Leonardo da Vinci en la portada de este trabajo.
Se aplicará en la restitución de una tabla de F. Brunelleschi Nº 6.
 
NÚMERO DE PLATA - EL OCTÓGONO
Así como el número de oro está asociado a la √5 el número de plata está asociado a √2 y presenta una serie de propiedades similares a las del número de oro.
√2 = 1,414213562 tg. 22,5º = 0,414213562
tg.67,5º = 2,414213562
1/2,4142... = 0,4142... 2,4142... x 1,4142... = 3,4142...
Observa nuevamente la concatenación, esta vez con el octógono, de la circunferencia en color azul sobre la de color rojo.
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 1 la de color rojo es 2,4142....
Si el radio de la circunferencia azul es 0,4142... la de rojo es 1.
Aquí tenéis un ejemplo.

NÚMERO DE PLATINO - EL HEXÁGONO
De igual forma que el número de oro está relacionado con la √5 y el de plata con la √2, el de platino lo va a estar con la √3

1,732... x 2,732... = 4,732...
Combinación, esta, muy utilizada por Andrea Palladio.
Observa la concatenación de la circunferencia azul sobre la de rojo, a través del hexágono, directamente a la circunferencia azul. Si el radio de la circunferencia color azul es 1 el de la circunferencia en color rojo es 2 y el lado del triángulo inscrito es 2 x 1,732...
Este polígono es el más prolífico en la historia de arquitectura como vamos a verlo en los ejercicios.

A 50 años de la Revolución de Abril en República Dominicana
Un 24 de abril de 1965 los dominicanos y dominicanas se sublevaron ante la opresión de los poderes fácticos nacionales y Estados Unidos. Exigieron la vuelta al poder de Juan Bosch, primer presidente elegido democráticamente luego del ajusticiamiento de Rafael Leonidas Trujillo.
La República Dominicana conmemora este viernes el 50 aniversario de la insurreción y victoria cívico-militar que dio inicio a la Revolución de Abril de 1965 o Guerra Patria, uno de los sucesos más relevantes de la historia política y social de ese país caribeño.
El 24 de abril de 1965 se sublevaron los campamentos militares 16 de agosto y 27 de febrero -ubicados al este de Santo Domingo (capital) y simultáneamente miles de dominicanos salieron a las calles con el objetivo de restablecer el gobierno constitucional del presidente Juan Bosch, derrocado el 27 de septiembre de 1963 por una conspiración del Estados Unidos a través de la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA), la oligarquía y la jerarquía eclesiástica dominicana.
Ese día, un grupo de oficiales creó el Comando Militar Revolucionario encabezado por los coroneles Vinicio A. Fernández Pérez, Giovanni Gutiérrez Ramírez, Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó y lograron cohesionar un movimiento cívico-militar que destituyó el triunvirato encabezado por Donald Reid Cabral y el pueblo en armas juramentó al Dr. Rafael Molina Ureña como presidente provisional de la República Dominicana, siguiendo el hilo constitucional de 1963 y en su condición de presidente de la Cámara de Diputados que fungía al momento del golpe a Bosch.
Reid Cabral informó a la embajada de Estados Unidos que se proponía “rodear el campamento rebelde 27 de Febrero con tropas leales y cortar los servicios”.
Cerca de la medianoche, un coronel del ejército de Estados Unidos acudió al sublevado Campamento 16 de Agosto e increpó al capitán Mario Peña Taveras (uno de los oficiales rebeldes) sobre lo que había sucedido.
“Lo que está pasando aquí es un problema de los dominicanos que va a ser resuelto por los dominicanos”, respondió de manera enfática el militar perteneciente al bando constitucionalista, quienes lucharon para preservar la legalidad, justicia, democracia, libertad y soberanía nacional de la República Dominicana.
El coronel Francisco Caamaño fue el líder del movimiento cívico-militar dominicano.
Los militares patriotas comandados por Caamaño asaltaron la Intendencia del Ejército Nacional, mientras otras agrupaciones militares ocuparon la ciudad de Santo Domingo.
Una vez que la insurrección popular logra deponer el gobierno del triunvirato, el 25 de abril, reunido el Congreso Nacional y restaurada la Constitución, fue juramentado y posesionado un gobierno constitucional transitorio.
Al verse derrotados, un grupo de generales dirigidos por Elías Wessin y Wessin, por órdenes del gobierno norteamericano, realizaron bombardeos aéreos en horas de la tarde el Palacio Nacional, donde se encontraba el presidente Molina y su gobierno, dando inicio a la denominada Guerra Patria, que duró tres días.
Los constitucionalistas bloquearon el Puente Duarte para impedir el avance de los generales y militares contrarios a la Revolución.
Wessin y Wessin y los militares afines a los poderes fácticos nacionales y extranjeros fueron derrotados de manera definitiva y aplastante por el pueblo dominicano en la Batalla del Puente Duarte.
“Abril del 65 nos muestra lo importante que resulta en la sociedad dominicana la claridad acerca de un objetivo programático adecuado para la movilización popular en pos del desarrollo social”, afirmó el historiador Roberto Cassá en un video difundido por la Presidencia de la República Dominicana este viernes.
En Contexto
Cuatro días después de la victoria popular dominicana, el presidente Lyndon B. Johnson ordena invadir la República Dominicana con 42 mil marines en la denominada “Operación Power Pack”, con el apoyo de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) y bajo la excusa de “no permitir otra Cuba en el Caribe”. En dicha invasión estadounidense, la segunda en menos de 50 años a la isla caribeña, duró un poco más de un año y fueron masacrados miles de dominicanos y dominicanas.
El Dato: Juan Bosch fue el primer presidente elegido democráticamente luego del ajusticiamiento del dictador Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, impuesto por Estados Unidos en 1930 y gobernante hasta el 30 de mayo de 1961.
Mártir de la Revolución: A raíz del derrocamiento de Juan Bosch el 25 de septiembre de 1965, el coronel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez y otros militares como Caamaño iniciaron un plan para acabar con el Gobierno de facto del Triunvirato y restaurar el Gobierno constitucional de 1963.
Para el momento del estallido de la Revolución de Abril, Fernández Domínguez se encontraba fuera del pais en misión diplomática, la que aprovechó para organizar al grupo de militares constitucionalistas que lideraron la revuelta cívico-militar.
Regresó a Santo Domingo el 14 de mayo del 1965 pero fue asesinado por un francotirador estadounidense en el intento de retomar el Palacio Nacional (sede del Ejecutivo), cinco días después.
