Su, I know you had some trouble with The Font Thing and maybe some plugins.
I have added a page with some links at the bottom to help people who have upgraded beyond Windows XP.

Can you remind me... did you get a font viewer to work for you?
Which one?
How did you install it? yadda yadda

Are your plugins working? I know some girls were having trouble getting their plugins to work and have shelved PSP because of it. I want to find the information that works.

Here`s the page: Software and Systems

I have addressed this to Su, because I know she was having some trouble, but I welcome feedback from anyone who reads this.

I used a program called font viewer...lol
its just ok but will probably look around for something better but pspx2 does a good job of seeing what they look like.
As far as filters I have only loaded my EC400 so far and only on the psp7. once I found my resistration it worked fine.

If you`re up for seeing if this works, I`d be curious to know if it does.
I`m glad to hear that your EC4000 is working.
I don`t know what I would do if I couldn`t glass everything lol.

I will get back to you on that. I have to transfer over some uninstalled fonts to my pc first.

Ok I was able to get the font thing to work by unzipping it into my uninstalled fonts folder when I clicked  on the  file it would open with an error saying the program failed to set data but the font window opened anyways and I could search for the folder where my fonts are. which I will have to do every time as it does not save that data. So then I tested it by opening both psp programs and it was able to list the font that I had opened so I guess that was a success but I just wished I had better organized my font folders. haha.

One thing I noticed about using The Font Thing...

Let`s say I`m making a tag in PSP and I get to the point where I want to select a font. I open TFT and after browsing through the fonts, I find one that I like and I click on it. When I do that, the font that I clicked on is added to the list of available fonts in my PSP. So I don`t have to go into the font folder and open up the font. I didn`t remember that TFT did that but I re-discovered it and I think that is very convenient.

I don`t know when I did it, but I remember a time years ago when I got so frustrated with the condition of my fonts folders. I spent, I don`t know how many days, and I went through each font and placed it into a category folder. My fonts are very well organized now, but it took time and it gets boring after a while LOL.

Oops... I spoke too soon, I just went into my Fonts folder and I found a folder called "fonts to sort", so I guess I got burned out on font sorting.

I have over 50 folders of fonts sorted into categories, so that when I am looking for a fat font, I go into my "Chunky" folder. Dafont has a bunch of categories that they sort their fonts into and I used their categories as a starting point for my own folders.

When I saved a font now, I make sure I unzip it and place it in a folder immediately. It`s a pain to go on a font collecting binge and then have all these fonts that you have to sort later.

And I thought I was bad with 5 folders  My folders are not named except the one that is just Halloween fonts. I doubt I will get to the point where I will sort them. hard enough to sort my sock drawer haha
