Hello and Welcome, Rita!

It`s great to have you here, Rita! I have admired your animated tags; you make the clever animations that I can appreciate. I hope we will be able to share animation tips with each other and expand our animation skills. I know there is always something new that I can learn.

I see that you were able to manage the Spanish-language registration process, so that is good. Most of everything at this group will be in English, but there are still a few items that have not yet been translated to English (like the message editor), so I recommend using Google Translate for any text that you don`t understand.

I know that you found the group through my link at EFR when you asked about my tutorials. My tutorials are older than most these days and are written using PSP8 which as you know is a very old version. So I have not added all my tutorials to the group, but if there is any tutorial that you have an interest in, then you can request it and I`ll add it to the group.

My group is mainly for hosting my PSP Tutorials but I also like to do tutorials written by other writers and I like to share my results and encourage others to do the tutorial and show their results along with some notes about how they personalized their tag. You`ll see those on the General board as Tutorial Challenges. There is no regularity as to how often a Tutorial Challenge is posted. I post them when I have completed a tutorial. I would encourage you to also host a Tutorial Challenge if you feel comfortable with that.

When I first got here to Gabitos I was working on some instructions for how members can host a challenge, because I wanted to encourage everyone to lead others in doing something new. I never got around to finishing those instructions, so if you`d like to lead a challenge, please feel free to do so by posting it on the General board. I`ve been so busy lately that I haven`t been doing as many challenges as I would like to, so the pace here is very relaxed.

There`s no pressure here to post or participate although I definitely encourage it, but I want you to feel comfortable, so just join in as you like. It would be nice to know a little of your PSP history and what art software you use.

When you have a moment, please read the Getting Started page. It will kind of familiarize you with how I`ve set things up.

I think that`s it for now. I`m sure I haven`t covered everything, so if you have any questions, then just ask. I hope to see some more of your work!

Thank You so much timber, I have a long history with psp , started out with psp 7 . My sister invited me to her school reunion site which at the time was Dellphi Forums and that is where I saw my first tag.  I had the program on my computer my hubbys friend had given it to him and  I had tried to use it to no avail  but once introduced to Delphi it all changed and I have been going strong every since,  I take a break once in awhile but not for long.  At the momen I own several psp programs, a couple photoshop and uleads,  I only have psp 9 installed and photoshop at the moment.  I love psp 7 and 8 but had to let go of 8 I think it got corrupted or something, it was acting weird.  Thanks for the offer and I may host a challenge need to think about it *L* hugs Rita

I discovered tagging way back when I first got to MSN Groups.  I would visit the PSP groups and would admire the tags they were making.  I knew it was something that I wanted to do, so I took a look at a PSP Tutorial and I was completely intimidated, so I put off buying the software.  But my hubby kept hearing me talk about how much I wanted to learn, so he would prod me to buy it, but I would tell him I'm not ready.  One day he surprised me by buying it for me, and the rest is history (as they say).  That was way back in 2005.

I also love to work with Animation Shop and nearly every tag that I make is animated.  In fact my first tag was an animated tag and quite complicated, but it was a tag that I had my eye on as I am also a total hoarder of smileys and this was an animated smiley tag that I wanted to make so bad.  It probably took me at least three hours to make it but I finally did and I was so pleased with myself haha.

I have also dabbled a bit with Ulead Gif Animator 5 but not too much.  I love the effects you can create with it and one day I will have to re-install it and take another look.

I have heard some positive things about Photoshop, but I have never used it.  Sometimes I will try to adapt a Photoshop Tutorial into PSP.  If you've ever tried that, then you know it's not always easy or possible.

I am still using PSP8, my first ever version, and I have never thought to upgrade, so I know nothing of any other versions.

As to hosting a challenge, there's no pressure to do that; I just wanted to let you know it's an option in case you were ever interested.  My group isn't like most PSP groups where the "manager" posts all the challenges.  This group is mainly for hosting my PSP Tutorials and also a place to share tips and learn about PSP, so everyone is encouraged to do both.  Feel free to jump in whenever you like.

My most two favorites things are animation and vectors so pick one of those and I will work on a challenge . I am letting you pick cause I am hopeless at that  I could do a simple flower ot a flower pot something like that  in vectors to start off or a simple animation  . simple until I learn this html editor a bit better *LOL* I have been toying with putting psp 8 back on my computer just to see if it was the program itself or my computer messing it up.  Anyway let me know have to deliver the auction tags today but after that I can work on something....hugs Rita

Rita, I'm not trying to put you to work  LOL.

I only mentioned doing a challenge if it was something you felt like you wanted to do; I just encourage everyone to lead if they want to.  But the pace here is really relaxed. The challenges that are posted do not have a time table on them and may sit on the board with no activity until someone chooses to do the challenge and post their results.

So basically when I make a tag I will post the tutorial that I used if I used a tutorial. If I used an animation for a tag of my own making, then I may post a challenge as an animation challenge. If I create a pattern to use as fill for text, I may post a challenge as a pattern challenge and share how I made the pattern. Posting challenges is just a way of showing off new tags and stimulating creativity. It's nothing formal. I just enjoy seeing what everyone is working on, and I also like to share PSP tips back and forth.
