Steampunk Tag Gallery

From Wikipedia, "Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.  Although its literary origins are sometimes associated with the cyberpunk genre, steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a future during which steam power has maintained mainstream usage, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power."

Steampunk is one of my most favorite genres.  I've always been a fan of Victorian architecture and clothing, and then you blend that with invention and science fiction, and I'm a fan.  I mean, can you ever see too many gears , goggles , flying and land transportation , machines , metal pipes , timepieces , Victorian jewelry and clothing, ornate frames , and other rusted steel accoutrements?  I know I can't!

So I would LOVE to see your steampunk "inventions"!  Please post any steampunk tags that you've made and also tags that were made for you by another tagger.  I can never see enough!  Stoke the furnace, set the boiler pressure and let's get steamy in here!

If you would like to share a bit of history regarding your tag, then please include it.  And feel free to make a comment, ask a question about a tag, or have a conversation.  Enjoy!

Wow, timber.  This gallery is awesome!!  I want to rent a room here.  No, really.  I love this thread and your color scheme and images are outstanding.  Bravo, my friend!!

Here is my first contribution.

The font I used is AR Destine.  This is one of the first images that I ever tubed.  No Flutter is one of my favs.

Thanks for this gallery!

Awww... thanks, Judy!   I probably spent more time than I needed to , but I always love to find little pixel images to post for some of the items and that took some time to find.  And then I wanted to find some steampunk animations, so now I've got quite a few of those that I hope to incorporate into a tag in the future, maybe a steampunk future LOL.

Wow!  I love your tag!   And that is one of my favorite NoFlutter images; I was also working on tubing that image LOL.  NoFlutter has so many wonderful steampunk images.  If you tube anymore, don't forget to share!

Now... I don't think you have said enough about this awesome tag of yours.  Did you follow a tutorial?  Where did you get those animations from?  I love this tag and if you'd like to make another with my name on it, I surely wouldn't mind hehe.  Thank you for the font name!

Here's one of my tags made for me by Shel; I love owls and this one looks very sophisticated haha.

Here ya go timber.

I wish I had made these animations, but sadly the background was shared with me.  There is really no story to tell.  LOL  I don't usually use background made by others but I really liked this one.

I am working on some steampunk animations, though. If they turn out, I will be glad to share.

Okay, here is an update to timber's question about the animation in my Steampunk tag above.

I found the site where the animated background I used probably originated.  There is also a tutorial for Photoshop on making this animated background.

Here is my newest version with an animated background I made with this tut using PSP.

Click on my tag to go to the tutorial.

Whoo-hoo, thanks so much  for my tag, Judy!

And thanks for finding that tutorial.  You've done a great job translating it to PSP, and I think your second tag is even better than the first!    I like seeing more of the Victorian dress, and the animation is awesome.

I found an old steampunk keyboard interface that was shared with me over 10 years ago!  Here is a tag I made with it.

Here is a png of the keyboard if you'd like to play with it.  It is free to use and no credit is necessary.

I'd love to see what you make with it.

Thanks so much for the inspiration, Judy!   I love the Steampunk keyboard that you found and the tag that you made.

I took inspiration from your tag and created a snag to share.  I like the digital-style font that you used and I wanted to use something similar, but I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I chose this sort-of-futuristic font (Airstream Futuropolis Regular) and gave it a "nuclear" hue haha.  What's a Steampunk future without a little radiation, eh?

I also liked the way your tag was animated, but I couldn't find that effect in Animation Shop, so I went my own way and used Checker Wipe and Curtains (Insert Image Transition).  My goodness, what a task that was to put all the different pieces of the animation together; it nearly did my head in LOL.  But it was so satisfying to use the animation effects in AS again , so thank you again for the inspiration to do that.

I love my new tag and I have it saved!

Awesome tag, timber!  I snagged it right up. Thanks!

I love the font you used and the transition effects.  I just used insert text effect-marquee.  I set the effect length to 2.0 sec and frames per sec. to 6.  This gave me 12 frames and I adjusted the frame delay afterward.

It has been so long since I used Animation Shop effects that I almost forgot they are available!  It's good to refresh on things we haven't used in a while.  I'm glad you were inspired.

Thank you for your settings, Judy!   I'll keep that in mind when I decide to try this animation effect.

Here's a lovely tag made by NonnieDeb which features the artwork of Igolochka.  I know that you're not that fond of poser tubes, Judy, but Igolochka makes some nices ones in the Steampunk genre.  She applies some kind of skin texture to her posers that make them more lifelike and less plastic-y looking LOL.  If you'd like to see any of her posers, then let me know, and I will upload some for you to look at.

I recognized some of the elements on this tag as coming from a scrap kit by Vaybs called Steampunked.  Since Steampunked is a free-to-use kit I see it used for many FTU scrap tutorials.  The download for the kit is at 4shared, so if you'd like the kit and have any trouble downloading it, then let me know and I'll upload it here for you.

The cluster frame used on this tag was made with the kit and you can get it at Vaybs blog here.  It's in the Mixbag Clusters 4 set.

Here is my latest Steampunk treasure tagged by Shel.
The animated gears are one of Simone's Steampunk Animations.
You can visit the page with that set of animations here.
