Love this! And omg, I learned some NEW tricks on PSP! Honestly, I have never used many of the tools on the layers palette before. I am so glad to have found out how to do certain steps - when I have been doing them manually lol Here is my try at this tutorial. I used my honeys name ♥

I was unable to use EC for the motion trail (since I have the trial version installed), I used the PSP Motion Blur effect. I set it to 300 angle, 50 strength. Also, when I saved my animation with the settings in tutorial, it looked a little wonky. It was not bad, though I wanted to see if I can make it look better. So I copy merged my work and pasted as new image, then cut and pasted the work itself (without the whole work canvas begun with for tutorial) as new image. Added a new layer to fill with white color and moved it to bottom. Copy Merged it to AS and came back to PSP to repeat copy merge and cut for the other steps with noise on text and added them to new layer onto the canvas I am now working on & closing the other layers of text as I go along. Well, you get the idea :) Now, in the Optimization window, the settings I chose were Optimized Octree and Error Diffusion. Not sure if the difference was in the motion blur effect as opposed to using the one in EC.

I am happy to hear that you have learned some new PSP tricks!   When I wrote these tutorials for beginners I tried to include something new with each new tutorial.  Much of the time I, myself, would learn something new while I was writing the tutorial so I would include that.  I really loved writing for beginners but it takes so much time now with all the text and screenshots.

You said you weren't able to use Eye Candy 4000 for the motion trail.  The tutorial has a link to a site where you can download a full version Eye Candy 3; it also has a motion trail.

Thanks so much for sharing all the details about how you made your tag!   I shall have to take another look at PSP Motion Blur and try your settings.  For the optimization settings in Animation Shop, it's typical to use error diffusion when working with a motion blur, but I can't remember now why I used Median Cut instead of Optimized Octree.  It's good that you played with those settings to get the best saved result for your tag.

Thanks for giving this tutorial a play and showing your results!  I always enjoy seeing them.

At the time when I wrote this tutorial I didn't have these new glitter tiles, so I have made a new tag using them, and this is how my name turned out.  These new glitter tiles are in the Patriot Text Tutorial album here for anyone who wants them.  If anyone knows of a font that is geared more towards Canada or the UK, then please let me know, because this font feels very American to me with the stars and stripes.  It would be nice to have other country options.

Yeah, that is true about writing tutorials for beginners. I have tried writing some in the past but having to take screenshots of everything and trying to explain was just time consuming and sometimes frustrating :D I wrote one for making glitterfills (tiles [I am so used to them as fills]) and had my sister - who knows nothing about making graphics - give it a go and she was able to make one of her own! I was so happy she understood it lol

I did not know the post had messed it up, otherwise I had removed it sooner. I was working on the tags and away for a little bit :D Oh, I do have a full version of EC saved on one of my flash drives but I had forgotten about it and ended up downloading the trial :p

I am going to check out your glitter tiles - I LOVE collecting them. I am glad I have some saved on my flash drive - but on my desktop back in Los Angeles, I have TONS saved :D I know I have seen some fonts before. I will have a look around :)

LOVE your sparkly tag! ♥

This is a fun tut, timber!  I only had time to try it once so far so I stayed pretty much to the tut instructions.

I want to play some more later with the glitters!

Karla, do you have your Glitter Tutorial saved?  Would you like to add it to the Member Tutorials here?  Or maybe you have it posted online somewhere?  If you do, I'd love to give it a play .

I neglected to share the website where I got the two glitter tiles that I used for my name.  They were made by Hult.  Go to Hultshome.dk and click Sparkles in the menu.  I have more Glitter Tile links posted on the PSP Supplies board here.  I see that Karla has added some links to her glitters, so check those out because they're fabulously blingy!

Thanks for giving this tutorial a play, Judy!   Your tutorial results look fabulous!

Karla, thank you for finding all those flag fonts!   I'm still looking through my glitters to find the right ones for the purpose.  I like the red and blue glitters from Hult, but she didn't have a white/silver glitter in the same style.  I'll be back when I have some results to show you using a flag font .

This blingy gorgeousness was made by Karla

Judy, great work on your tags!

Timber, so glad you liked the taggy! And yes, yes I do! I think I have the tutorials saved on one of my websites files. I will look for them and send you link and/or the written tutorial  I really need to zip up my glitterfills and share them here. I have SO MANY colors and styles that would be perfect!
