Season's Greetings, Girls!  Have you been naughty or nice?  Hmmm... I wonder  . For myself, I've been a good girl  LOL. I wish I had been around more this month and had made more Christmas tags, but I've felt so cruddy that it was affecting my concentration, patience, and creativity  . I've been spending most of my time helping out at EFR doing what I do best which is to collect and share supplies, links, yadda yadda. Lately I've been gathering things for New Years and Las Vegas, because they are having a New Years in Las Vegas Event.
One of the fonts that I found relating to Las Vegas is called Aced It, and each letter looks like a playing card with parts of the card removed to shape the card into a letter. I've volunteered to make prize tags for the event games, and I came up with this tag using the font. When I have a chance I'll add it to the boards as a Font Challenge for anyone who wants to play with it.
I did manage to make one new Christmas tag using a "New Year" font called Showtime. I've played with this font way back in 2005 but I made a much smaller, simpler tag. I'll post this font as a Font Challenge and show you my older tag and the inspiration for it. I've made pressies for Judy and Karla which you can pick up here. Judy's tag has the Christmasy colors because she likes red, and Karla's tag is a color variety with teal. So that's what's new with me in PSPLand. On a personal note, I will be spending a quite holiday indoors LOL with my hubby and I will hopefully be baking some Christmas cookies. I wanted to visit with family but I just wasn't up for the travel. Karla, I saw your note about the cost of your website going up. Sorry to hear about that. Have you ever considered getting a site at Blogspot? I think they are free. Or is it that you want a particular website name? Thanks for the compliment on my Candybar tag; that cute tag was made by Jossie, but I see I forgot to mention that. Jossie makes the cutest scrappy tags using dolls. OMG, Judy, your Tex-Mex Christmas dinner sounds like it will be a fabulous one. I never thought to go untraditional with dinner, but that's a great idea. Hubby and I love mexican food; we eat it quite a bit. I hear you about the soups and stews! That's the kind of food I dream of eating in summertime because I love  it, but I don't want to heat the kitchen, so I love when the cool weather comes  . Heya, Lynne! Good to see you checking in  . Judy, I'm thrilled to hear you're having fun playing in PSP, and I've seen all the challenges you've posted. When I can get my head in it, I'd like to try some. I have been loving to see your results! And I see you have been collecting again. I have been collecting too! It's so freakin' hard to quit that habit LOL. I see so many awesome things that I hope to be able to play with one day. I love the animated snow globe, Karla! Whatever "corruption" you see from the saving process is not noticeable to me; I love it animated . Thank you so much for the pressie!   Karla, ask your honey to resist the temptation to open presents early. He's as excited as a child LOL. I love the anticipation of waiting for the day, because as soon as you've opened your presents it feels like Christmas is over, so I like to draggggg it out LOL.

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas everyone! Cannot believe that in my part of the world, we have less than 20 mins left of Christmas. I am sad for the night to end. Wish it could continue a lot longer! I just love this time of the year (and Halloween season too)! I hope you all are enjoying yourselves to the fullest - food, friends & family, festivities and all of that good stuff! I have definitely enjoyed myself so much at the celebrations with our families. And we received wonderful gifts too. Did I "stuff my face" (my fav thing to say lol)? Oh, I certainly did! lol

Hello all! I hope your Christmas was as great as mine.  It did wear me out but, it was great to celebrate with all of my family.
Timber, I was hoping you would feel better for the holidays.  At least you were able to celebrate with your hubby and I'll bet your cookies were yummy.

Our Tex-Mex meal turned out to be fantastic! We had authentic tamales, enchiladas, chimichangas, chicken and beef tacos, homemade Mexican rice, pinto beans, guacamole, queso, homemade salsa and sopapilla cheesecake and some pies and cookies! I stuffed myself and we were all in a food coma the rest of the day. LOL
Karla, I'm glad you all had such a great Christmas! Sounds like you really enjoyed yourselves.

Good afternoon everyone! I am stopping by to say Hi and hope all is going great for yall.
I may have a full belly from all of the good eats but reading about yalls food and goodies!! I have been craving sweets. Earlier, I found my little stash of coconut bar cookies (store bought). I had almost forgotten about them too! I will be getting my hands on them in a while. And I am super thirsty too.
I am not ready for the year to end but it is creeping up so fast! Anyone have plans for the end of the year??

Happy 2019 everyone! I wish you all nothing but the best ♥ I hope that your celebrations have been special and memorable. And most of all, safe and warm. We had a very quiet HNYs Eve, just the three of us (honey, Buddy and I). We had gone to do a bit of grocery shopping earlier and got some stuff to prepare my honeys dinner, which included black eyed peas for good luck. I have never heard of that before so it was nice to learn of a new tradition. I did not get to eat my own dinner until after 12 AM lol But that is because there was so much to do before that and I wanted to get the kitchen cleaned up and whatnot.
On another note, I paid my websites hosting renewal - which was ridiculously OUCH to my coin purse lol I have mixed feelings but I do feel relieved to be able to have my website going for another year. So I will surely have to get my PSPing mojo back so I can get new things added and some for sharing (^_~)
Well, I better get going now. I am super thirsty lol And I want to get under the covers to warm up. It has been cold! See you all later! ♥

Of course, we had our black eyed peas! Is that a regional thing? We have always believed they brought good luck. Also, we had ham, a green salad, and baked potato.

It is cold here also. It has been around 25 degrees here all day and we are expecting snow and freezing rain in the next couple of days! I don't like it when the roads are bad.
I had an appointment yesterday with my eye doctor and found out I need another eye surgery. Ugh! I knew I was having difficulty but, I was not prepared for that. I have it scheduled and hopefully all will go well. I have another week before I have it done. I don't think I will be gone very long.

| Hi Judy! Sounds like you had a great New Years celebration too (^_^) I have no idea about the black eyed peas being regional or not. Will have to ask my honeys mom more about that. I am still learning the TX way of Life lol One time, my honey wanted me to put something away. However, he said to "put it up". I was so confused because of the item I was suppose to put away. After confusion and me asking where he wants me to put it, I found out it meant to "put away"! I was like OH! I already learned the refrigerator is an "ice box". lol
Oh! Ugh... well, I did decide to keep my websites going and today, I read an email in regard to my domain being up for renewal. So when I logged into my account to pay, I seen that the price for the domains went UP as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It made so upset because that is more money out of my pocket. And my pocket is getting smaller already *eek* So from 15.99, it is now 27.99. My hosting was 48 and now it is 165!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing great and enjoying the brand new year with friends and loved ones. I have been relaxing as always and just trying to stay warm as much as possible. Some days are brrrr and some are just right. Today was an okay day.
Well, I have not been doing anything creative yet. So there is nothing to share on my part. I feel so bad that I do not post stuff like I used to. I hope yall do not mind. I still do enjoy seeing all of the wonderful things shared and created. My eyes feast on such amazing work! Please keep them coming because I love seeing the new and the old creations yall share. ♥

It's been a while but, I am back! I had my eye surgery and so far, so good.  I think I can see a bit clearer. I'll find out more after my next Dr visit next week. | Hi Judy! So glad the surgery went well. I will keep positive thoughts for your next doc visit ♥ Well, today was a grocery shopping day. We got a chance to stock up the "ice box" and pantry. My honey wants to try doing the Military Diet (a 3 day plan). He is determined to get in shape this year. I should follow along too but I just love food too much lol I did gain a bit of weight since I have been in TX. Not sure how much I am now and I keep forgetting to weigh myself. I always feel my belly bloated, which of coarse is not cool. And I even bought a small bag of animal crackers to stuff my face with lol
Timber, I am hoping things are going all right on your end. We have not seen you pop in yet. Hope you will surprise us with something soon (^_~)
Going back to the subject of food, last night I tried for the first time, roasting baby carrots in the oven. They came out all right. I did a whole 1 lb bag, which I gobbled on my own lmbo! We bought 2 more bags, one of which I want to make honey glazed (hopefully they will turn out good whenever I decide to try it out). I also got a sweet potato. I should have gotten more because I do love eating them boiled. My mom would buy different types of potatoes and boil them all in a pot. Omg, even artichoke. So yum!! Last night, I also roasted corn on the cob in the oven and that was soooooo good!
Okay, no more food talk lol I am probably going to be roaming around during the day. I feel like getting back on track but we will see how things go (^_^) |

Happy Sunday everyone!
Karla, I meant to tell you that I speak "Texan/Southern" fluently because we speak it here in Oklahoma too. If you ever need a translation, just let me know, LOL, I'll be happy to help you out. I was born and raised here, so I've probably heard and used all of the local phrases.
We also say: "fixing to" which means getting ready to,
"Piddling" which means wasting time,
"Billfold" which is a wallet,
"All Y'all" which is the plural of Y'all. You will occasionally hear "icebox" as well, LOL.
I have been trying to lose some weight myself but, haven't been very successful. I know I need more
exercise but, I can't seem to do it regularly.  Your carrots and potatoes sound yummy but, I have to watch my carbs. Wish I could get myself to like articokes. Sorry, I can't do that. LOL I love corn about any way it can be fixed but again it is full of carbs. Enough food talk I'm getting hungry again.

| Lol, Judy! I had no idea you spoke the lingo. I will certainly ask if I have any Qs. I have not heard "piddling" and it sounds like a hoot! I will try to use that and see what reactions I get lol I have fam in OKC but I have not heard their lingo, if any they may have.
I love me some carbs and I just cannot see myself letting go of them. It is bad enough I cannot have citrus and dairy. I loved drinking orange juice and cheese OMG, I miss eating dairy cheese. Right now, I am hungry for spaghetti. My aunt had called me earlier but I missed the calls. She wanted to invite us for spaghetti so we totally missed out on that. On the subject of food still, I cut up wedges of potato and baked them today. It was my first time trying that out. I used olive oil and seasoned salt. They came out all right but I will try making them again so that I get the hang of it.
I really hope you will have the will power to shed some pounds off with ease. It is a bummer letting go of the yummy bad foods but it is worth it in the long run. I am in need of shedding some myself but I do not want toooooooooooo LOL!!!!! |
